I do have quite a hard time with editing him. I meter off of his face, so I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here. I love both of those edits, Amber. I lean towards a clean edit normally, and your first edit is exactly what I was going for. Rich and clean. I need to give it another go. You had to bring down the exposure a lot? What did the histogram look like? Was LR lying to me? I swear the peak was right in the middle. *sigh* Sometimes I feel like I'm getting it with this whole PP thing, but then other times (especially with my own kids), I feel like I'm taking 1000 steps backwards.

Gorgeous! Nice work.
Be careful listening too much to that histogram. It's handy for checking for lost detail, but a proper histogram can look like just about anything depending on what you're taking a picture of.
