Snapshot a Day (10/15)
Morning everyone! I hope this Tuesday is off to a good start for everyone.
Today is my "Monday" since I was at home yesterday. It was a great day w/ my boy and I'm already looking forward to the next teacher in-service day (though it's quite a while away). Going to be a busy week around here, but we're getting another visit with the pups on Saturday, so I just gotta hang on until then.
I grabbed some pics this morning before school of an annual project that Logan and I started yesterday. They are still on the camera, so I'll have to come back later to share, but I wanted to get this thread started anyway.
Happy Tuesday everyone!
What a fun shot, Amanda, looks like she's having a great time!
GiGi, can't wait to see the project pics. :) Hope your week isn't too crazy and stressful. At least you have something to look forward to. That always helps me BIG TIME.
Here's a shot of me testing out our new mini waffle maker. Just something fun that we got a crazy good deal on, so we made play date snacks with it today.

Amanda ... looks like Natalie is having a BLAST! I wish it was cold enough here for long sleeves. :) I'm so tired of this long hot (never ending) summer! We got a cool front last night which brought rain, but I still couldn't justify a sweater for work today. :)
Tracy ... those look YUMMY!!!! And I know Logan would love a treat like that too - he loves waffles and chocolate too! :D
Here's my shot. We started our sugar skull preparations!
I need to mold up a bunch more, but we each got to make at least one yesterday and have a few more ready to go for today. Hopefully by the end of the weekend we'll be done w/ this part of our Day of the Dead preparations. :D
GiGi, you're not kidding when you say you get into Halloween! :-D
LOL Tracy! WE *do* get into Halloween, but these are for our "Day of the Dead" (Dia de los Muertos) celebration. If you are not familiar with it, Day of the Dead is a Latin-American holiday celebrated on Nov 2. On that day, you celebrate the lives of those who have passed away.
In our family, we tend to pick one or two loved ones who have passed and we honor them on that day. We build a small altar, decorated with the sugar skulls, candles, and pictures of those we are remembering. we make their favorite foods and talk to Logan about our favorite memories of that person/people.
In some places, they actually go to the cemeteries and leave food, flowers, etc on the graves of loved ones.
My Dad's family is from Mexico where this is a popular holiday. I look forward to it every year and love that Logan is developing a love for it as well. I hope that some day it will be a tradition in his family as well.
Oh cool. I love it when family traditions and celebrations get passed on like that.
My kids love swinging like that too :)
You're making me hungry, Tracy!! They look delicious!
Love the skulls! I love that you have those traditions.
Carson is on fall break, so while Jackson was at school, my friend and I brought the big boys to a pottery painting place. They loved it!

Too cute, looks like they're having a blast!
Fun times, Steph! Looks to me like you are making the most out of this week with all your guys home.
