Snapshot a Day (11/11)

Happy Armistice/Veteran's day everyone!

I hope this Monday presents lots of photo ops for everyone. There was an orchestra concert for Veteran's Day at Logan's school today, so as soon as I have a chance to pull the pics off the camera, I'll be back to share one. Biggrin

I ACTUALLY have a photo to share! I was sharing it on FB, and I couldn't choose between color or B&W! I had a photo shoot with this little cutie today! She was a doll! I am looking forward to editing this family shoot!

Those are adorable, Sadie!!! I love the colour one, personally. What a great shot, either way!

I didn't get any Remembrance Day shots because with our sickness, we stayed home to watch a ceremony on TV instead. But later in the day I went out alone and took some shots at the river. I'm having some sensor issues so I couldn't stop it all the way down, plus I should've used a tripod, but anyway, even if it's been run through noiseware for the noise, and isn't tack sharp, I love our Vedder River in the fall. Smile

Love that Steph! Indeed, coffee with a newborn sleeping in the background is a perfect picture for a new mom. Biggrin (And man, I'm jealous of babies that come BEFORE their due dates... never had such luck, not even close! Lol

Sadie ... this little princess is just TOO CUTE! I'll bet you had a blast with her! Hopefully you can share more later (on the Friday thread?).

Wow Tracy! Your Vedder River looks amazing. Are you using a polarizing filter? I love how the detail comes out in the colors/shapes in the sky. LOVE LOVE LOVE! Oh, and I have to tell you, Carlos loves to see your BC photos. He lived in Alberta for a while as a boy (about 2nd grade age) and on returning to the States, his family took a train ride through BC. It's one of his most vivid memories of his childhood. Some day I hope we can do something similar for Logan to look back on and remember (if I can ever get him out of TX). Wink

Steph ... love the perspective here ... Hudson almost looks like he could fit in your cup. Biggrin

I was planning to share a pic from the orchestra concert, but the gym had very unflattering light and I still need to run everything through noiseware. BUT ... this is now my favorite pic of Logan & Kano:

Logan was working on his homework outside (b/c it's so pretty) and Kano just curled up at his feet. When Logan took a break, he grabbed his pup for some cuddles. LOVE seeing them together like this.

GiGi, how nice to hear that Carlos likes my BC shots! Thanks! Smile Where did he live in Alberta? I was born in Edmonton, lived there for a while as a young kid, and later I lived in Three Hills for a year, for Bible school. I have lots of family throughout AB.

No polarizer, because I did something to the threads of my kit lens and can't get the polarizer on and off properly anymore. Sad But I did a bit of "hand-HDR", used the RAW file to create a few different exposures and then I blended them by hand in GIMP, to make the sky pop a bit more. I also dodged the water a bit to make it brighter and draw the eye along the curve of the water.

Carlos lived north of Ft McMurray in AB, Tracy. His dad worked on the Tar Sands project.

I love that processing! I may have to try some "hand HDR" at some point as well. The effect is very subtle here and it really makes the image sing. Biggrin
