Time to kick off another weekly snap share thread!
Hope you are all off to a great start for the week!
this is day 5 of my p13to13 project
(which really should have been posted on last week's thread, but I'm feeling rather lazy this morning):
Logan and Carlos enjoying funny videos on the iPad on our "no homework Friday" evening
day 6 was from the soccer game on Sat (Logan's team won 5 - 3!):
day 7 is a snap of Logan "in his natural element"
(in his "man cave" playing video games w/ his Nerf rifle close at hand):
and day 8 is another one that is just Logan as Logan:
Logan is NOT a morning person. And on each school day, he crawls out of his room when the alarm goes off and curls up on the couch until I make him come get breakfast.
I'm enjoying this project! I've been putting the pics on our family blog and each day I also add a pic from when he was small (day 1, year 1; day 2 year 2; etc). Oh, how I have loved going back through the old photos!
I still can't quite wrap my head around the fact that in less than a week he'll be a teenager. I see the pictures, count up the years, but it still doesn't compute in this old, slow brain of mine. So I think I'll continue to live in denial and not think about it until Sunday rolls around.
Take care everyone!
GiGi- YAY! Love seeing these posts from you. Loved the blog posts too! I haven't updated mine in FOREVER! My favorite out of this bunch is #1. We love funny videos and I love this capture!
I will be back later to upload mine! Headed to Randy's first flag football game!
I love that first one, GiGi! And that is really cool about putting pics of Logan on the family blog from when he was little, kind of celebrating his arrival to teen-hood by looking back that way. Love it!
I don't have much, we've been sick here. This is one from last week that I don't think I shared, though.
Tracy- hoping you all feel better soon! (((HUGS)))
Mikey and Shredder hanging out at Wal-Mart!
My favorite place to eat...EVER! Fuji's! With my crazy clan!
Ruthie and I
Randy at the lock and dam:
Tracy - that is such a great snap of Micah - I love the expression on his face (Legos can be serious business). Hope everyone is feeling better!
Sadie - it's fun to see you and Randall playing around! Carlos is not a fan of the camera. *sigh* I have to sneak in pictures, but he did promise me some family pics this fall once it cools down a bit. Ruthie looks like she has really stretched out - such long legs! And that last one of Randy has such a wonderful timeless feel to it. It kinda reminds me of Opie Taylor from the Andy Griffith show. *swoon*
My snap for today is Logan playing with the dogs before school:
Great one, GiGi!
Love the one of Ruthie on her bike, Sadie! And you and Randal with the masks!
GiGi- you are right! It does remind me of Opie too! How funny! LOVE the one of Logan and Loki playing! Those jaws!
A few more from the wedding:
Sadie, it looks like you got the wedding party to really have a lot of fun with you! That's awesome!
Took a few today after school. The first one is Micah coming out of his classroom with his teacher at the door:
Then on the playground. I love this one!
A rarity for me, but I think I like this conversion better:
This is soooo Nora. All smiles while she's being a total monkey, climbing and grinning from ear to ear.
And last is a twofer, Nora practicing cartwheels:
Sadie - these wedding photos are SO INCREDIBLE! You have OUTDONE yourself, lady!
Tracy - it's good to see some new ones from you. Does this mean you are feeling better? I really love the ones of Nora playing. Her dirty feet in b&w is my favorite and I also really like the cartwheel photos.
Here is mine for today:
So ... Logan has complained about this project of mine EVERY DAY since we started. He has rolled his eyes at me and given me that exasperated sigh when I tell him it's time for the snap of the day. But he's let me take the snap anyway. And then he's made a point to ask to see the blog entry each day as well.
Yesterday, he told me he had an idea for the next photo and this is what he gave me! The "sun glasses" are just those flimsy wrap-around things the eye doctor gave Carlos after they dilated his eyes last week. Logan just loves them! He put them on w/ his head phones and told me that he "looked like a DJ." I just loved it! And I can't wait to show it to him w/ this processing. I think he'll really like it. I did a b&w conversion that I like too:
But I think he'll like the "acid wash" look better.
So he may complain, but I think he's enjoying this almost as much as I am. I would have continued anyway, but it's a good feeling to know he's enjoying this (even if he won't admit it).
GiGi- I LOVE the acid wash! I think it works perfectly for this type of photo! He's so funny, but yet creative right!?
Tracy- I am a lover of dirty feet. It means kids are being kids. My kids and I are usually barefoot at home. LOL!
Here are some from last night's football game. Randy stepped it up and played an awesome game! Pretty proud of him!
This one is my fave!
Loved his footwork here
Going after the flag!
I love the acid wash one. LOL, that's awesome that he came up with the idea, too!
I am not well yet, and stupidly I spent almost two hours trying to nail this shot. Still don't know if I've got it the way I want. It's for my camera club "scales" competition.
Sadie - I am *LOVING* your football photos! Randy looks like he is taking it VERY seriously! I'm afraid I am destined to remain only a soccer mom (futbol mama), but I'm not really complaining. I love my soccer son and my time on the sidelines. However, if you guys were local, I'd come out and cheer for Randy!
Tracy - that is a VERY COOL shot for your camera club competition! I'd love to see a pullback of your set up! That would be a fun image for a cook book or cooking blog. LOVE! I'm sorry you are still unwell. I hope it passes soon. Hang in there!
TFS guys! I'm glad to have been able to participate more lately!
So Logan was ready for our snap-of-the-day again today. This time we decided we would take a couple of shots of him w/ his iPod (which is always near by). I'm sharing more than 1 today b/c I just fell in love with these:
can't you just hear him say "really, Mom?" I get this look a LOT these days. It is just SO Logan at this age and I think that is why I love it so much.
and this last one is also a look we get often these days. It's not that he doesn't smile - b/c he DOES and often ... but lately, I have caught him deep in thought more often than not. I wish he would tell me all that is running around in his brain, but alas he seems determined to be more and more independent and I only get small glimpses into his thoughts. I'm thankful for those glimpse though - I treasure them, every bit as much as I treasure this boy. *sigh*
Most of these don't show how animated he was this morning. The tune he was playing (& singing along with) is a snappy 70s song that takes me back to Saturdays at the roller rink. We put it on in the car on the ride to school today and sang along together!
Take care everyone!
Oh GiGi- that last one brings tears to my eyes! He looks so grown up. He's such a handsome boy. I know he brings great joy to your life!
Randy received Student of the Month! I was shocked! I knew he was being a good boy, but I didn't think he was THAT good! So proud of my boy!
Last night we had high winds and my kids (and myself) are terrified of storms. Sooooo....Ruthie fixed him up in the hallway!
Miss Georgia Ruth on picture day. She looks too grown up.
We overslept this morning due to storms keeping us up a good part of the night and as such, I didn't get my snap for today. Logan and I have plans for what to do after school though. I have an idea for tomorrow too. And then on Sunday, he becomes a teeneager. *sigh*
we're having a pretty low key birthday (that's what he wanted). I guess that is what happens when they get too old for parties, etc.
Sadie - I hope the storms have passed. You tell Randy to keep up the good work! And tell Ruthie to stop growing up so fast.
Hope everyone here has a GREAT weekend! I hope to bbl with my snap for today, but I suspect it will be Monday before I get to come back with the rest of the weekend. I intend for the focus to be on our boy.
So take care, everyone!
Good for Randy! Congratulations to him! You must be proud.
Aw, GiGi, a bittersweet weekend for you, seeing your boy enter teenhood. Hugs to you, and I hope it's a great weekend.
Just mended the kids' thrift store Halloween costumes. We will be away on a trip (sans kids) for Halloween, so I'm doing all of my prep now. They are so excited. I love Micah's Spidey pose, which he came up with himself when I told him I wanted to take his pic!
Sadie - Great football shots, I struggle with sports shots, likely because I don't have the lens for it, hockey is especially hard because the lighting isn't very good either.
Congrats to Randy on the award.
Tracy - The focus on your "scales" shot is beautiful. The costumes look great! I love Mulan, it's great seeing a girl dress up as her.
Gigi - It's fantastic that Logan is letting you do shots. I really like the first one you shared.
