and I don't have a lot of people experienceI'll be researching heaps on newborn shoots.
But I have also been playing around with photoshop and while I still don't get all the techno talk you guys seem so good with I was playing around with one photo to see what I could come up with.
Would love some opinions! Would love to know if you can spot any of the things I 'fixed' and if you think any of them are printable
Thanks again ladies![]()

Oh and now looking at them..... I think I only like the first one......![]()
can you shrink a tiny bit? Its hard to see the whole pic on one screen (haha or maybe I just need a bigger screen)
ok disclaimer I'm no expert
I think the first the skin is a bit splotchy but the others is too smoothed
did you pop the eyes? its a tad overdone for me but love the blue eyes
I prefer the first b/w over the second. Is it more choc b/w? The second is a bit ghostly for me
looks like she has a tiny bit of wet nose on her left nostril

I agree in number two, her skin looks uneven and over smoothed. Her eyes look overdone to me too...did you do an eye pop?
yeah already worked out that I messed them up completely
But, her eyes are actually a bright blue but we had a giant blue wall along the outside of the house in an enclosed wall and she reflected the colour.
can you post an SOOC? The eyes are frighteningly blue...if that is the natural color I'm shocked and you may want to think about toning them down.
Skin smoothing in the second example is creating a strange effect. There is also far too much contrast in the image....did you do a "defog"? It just looks strange and unnatural. Contrast does really terrible things to skin and you need to be careful with it.
ETA: Actually did an edit...private in flickr. I toned this image way down. Decreased the contrast, desaturated the eyes and reduced the dark ring around the iris. I even added blur to the photo and reduced the amount of blur I added to the eyes nose and mouth only. The color of the image was a touch cool, so I warmed it up with the color balance layer. I also used the paintbrush on luminosity to reduce the dark circle under her eyes. I didn't spend the time to perfect it...there is still lots of work that needs to be done...green hair on top, the eyes are still really funky...I just wanted you to see the difference in contrast and the eye color.
The original I worked from:

Thanks Amber, you are the photoshop queen once again and I applaud you.!
I think this was just a wrong photo to attempt for a novice such as me

Amber's edit hits the spot. I was going to say the whites of her eyes were so blue on the edit. I do like the B&W play.

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
I know you'll be awesome with your shoot coming up! Its good that you are practicing beforehand so you dont get really stressed later on. Pics of people are SO hard to edit! the coloring has to be this way or that...
