Well, it FINALLY stopped snowing here in Virginia, so I was able to shoot something other than the parking lot in my townhouse complex! Thanks for everyone's tips on opening up the aperture and using a faster shutter speed; I was able to get some sharp pics of Tyler today.
I was a little disappointed because some of the shots I didn't post here were overexposed. I guess I'll get it right eventually. The following are some of my better ones. I would love any and all feedback!
Pics taken with my 55-200mm zoom:
#1 f/5.6, 1/500 sec, ISO 400
#2 f/5.6, 1/3200 sec, ISO 400
#3 f/5.6, 1/3200 sec, ISO 400
I really like this pic and will try some other crops/edits. I oversharpened it a bit too much here.
#4 f/5.6, 1/500 sec, ISO 400
Pics taken with my 60mm macro:
#5 f/6.3, 1/640 sec, ISO 400
Feathers were sticking out of snow on tree trunk. They were shadowed by other trees. I may play with the light parts to make them pop more visually.
#6 f/6.3, 1/320 sec, ISO 400
Ball from a sweetgum tree sticking out of the snow. I know snow is overexposed. Don't really know what to do with this shot, but I liked the patterns it made.
