    Default Somedays I miss ...

the days of my P&S camera. Don't get me wrong, I still use it. But in the last couple of days, I've taken pictures that I want to remember forever so I used the "good" camera instead of the back pocket camera. (Jack's first steps, Andrew's Thomas Jefferson appearance at the school wax museum). But I have a huge backlog of photos to process through ACR and then future tweak (like 100+ photos). It just makes me miss the days when it was simpler, when I didn't know any better ....

I know what you mean. Maybe you could shoot some of your important moments in RAW + JPG so that you could have a "quick fix" if you needed it.

Every now and then I go back to my p&s for some easy stuff, but I always end up frustrated w/ its limitations and come right back to my "big gun."

    Hang in there.

I do! We don't have a decent P&S right now, and I find that I'm taking the pictures, but not getting around to them. I also feel the pressure now to make all of my pictures look pro - like I can't get away with posting simple snaps up on facebook...

Oh, me too! I sometimes miss the simpler days of not worrying about exposure, catchlights, ROT, limb chops, distracting backgrounds etc. I am actually finding it pretty tough to remember it's ok to take snapshots. I was thinking od doing a challenge, like a snapshot a day type thing.

This is exactly how I feel. I really need to just get a P&S and get over it. Haha. I don't want to be lugging my DSLR all over the place in fear something might happen to it.

Totally agree. MY P&S isn't the greatest quality...so although I am okay with just taking some snaps, I load them up, take a look, and wish I had used my dslr. The dslr is just so bulky to carry around. Sigh.

I know how you feel but lately i have been telling myself that snapshots are OK! i'm not pro yet so maybe its a bit easier? I go off and on with photography since I have other hobbies as well. Maybe use jpeg on your dslr for snaps? I did that for a little while. Its hard going back to jpeg from RAW though. I always end up going back to RAW no matter what.

I know what you mean, but my camera is still new to me, so my p&s has taken a backseat. I will mainly keep mine b/c it's waterproof and tons of fun in the pool!

I totally agree, ever since I got my DSLR and started coming on here I have barely posted any pix for family. I am always wanting to process them now. Its great because they look sooo much better, but its so time consuming. But then again I really only try to pick out the best now instead of all 200-300 of them each month, so I'm sure my family appreciates that
