Default Specific edit from my 8 year shoot - new edit post 10

Okay, working on the pictures ... and you're going to hate me before I'm done. But before you hate me, I sure hope you can help me!

Remember, his friend has red skin, that's just the way he is - he's a red child! And Andrew has the olive tones in his skin.

    Here's SOOC with ACR tweaks

And then my edit using some color correction in levels - this time I didn't follow Kelby's method, I used my eyes until it looked right. I did some RGB global changes and then I did another levels layer and made changes in the red and blue channels.

    what do you think?

And then, in case I didn't get it right ...

I think the first one is better, second looks very cool, the little blondie is looking more magenta than red. The first one is maybe a little too yellow since you can see it in the blue of Andrew's shirt and their jeans but the second has gone too far the other way IMO but LOVE the conversion, nice job.

i like the first one better and your conversion is nice. Have you tried selecting just the skin of one of the boys and fixing the skin tone that way? I just learned about the quick mask feature. It's awesome and you should try to use it to select their skin and edit it individually instead of doing it all together.

I like the first edit better. The second one looks too blue to me. You're conversion is very nice!

Are you calibrated? If you are, it's time to re-calibrate. The SOOC is just about perfect color wise. Your edit is far too cool. If you're not calibrated...it would be worth the aprox $150 to do it, otherwise, it's a waste of time to mess with the color in your processing.

hmmmmmmmmm you're probably right!!!! I think it's been over a month. (but yes, I am calibrated, I have it set to remind me every month, and I think it recently reminded me but I didn't have time that day)

I'm to the point where I'm feeling VERY limited by Elements. *sigh*

Okay, I tried taking out some of the yellows using levels (I don't have a color balance option). This is the SOOC with just that change. What do you think?
