We've waited long enough. Photos please!
Yea Stephanie... How you liking your new toy?
LOL!!! The kids were so super uncooperative yesterday! We're going out to Wye Mtn. this afternoon after Carson gets out of school, and I'm going to break 'er in with some Easter photos in the daffodils. I hope to get something worthwhile.
It's definitely going to take some getting used to. I thought I had all my custom functions set up, but then realized that I didn't after getting some of Carson first thing. It only shot JPEG, even though I swore I changed it to RAW. Then, Jackson started flipping out because he hadn't had a nap, and he saw Carson steal a candy cane that he wasn't told that he could have in the first place, and he wanted one too.
Here's one that I managed to get of Bailey. Though, the focus fell on the grass in front of him. I'm hoping that the camera doesn't have focus issues, and that it's just me needing to find the correct focus setting. The focus is a lot different than on my XTi. I'm used to the red dot lighting up telling me where it focused, and that it was done focusing. It doesn't really hunt like my XTi does, but it's grabbing the wrong spot. I have a lot of reading to do... If you have any tips, El, I'd love to know! It's so incredibly different than I'm used to.

I like the shot, Steph! Sounds like a bit of a learning curve... but a fun one!
Great doggie pic, I am sure you will learn to use the new camera in no time.
There are some short video tutorials on Canon's page which I found useful.
I got to know it a little better yesterday. Still no shots that are amazing or anything since the light was pretty harsh. We went out at around 3:30 with some friends, and they weren't able to go any later in the day because of other engagements in the evening. I tried to work with the bright sunlight as much as I could. I'm dying to get out during golden hour. I'm hoping I can talk a friend into it soon. My kids are completely done with the camera, if yesterday told me anything. My best shots were of my girlfriend's girls. My kids were completely done with me.
CONGRATS I know you have been waiting for it!!! Can't wait to see what you do with it!
I know you'll do great once you get all the idiosyncrasies down. My kids are all going through a "show the camera your goofiest face" phase right now, so the poor cat has been the subject of most of my 365 project lately. I hope you're able to get some willing subjects soon.
