storyboard help please - updates post 4

I'm delirious. It's after 2am, I've been working on these pictures for three hours. I'm going to bed after I post this, but thought that if I posted it now, I might have replies by the time I wake up.

I wanted to do a storyboard for the mom. It's 11x14 (I want something I can get printed at Costco since she's going to have the baby any day now). But I don't know what else to put. I think I should have some kind of quote under the center photo but like I said, I'm delirious. Any ideas?

And the light was totally different between the first and then the second two photos. That doesn't detract from the storyboard, does it? The mom totally loves the 3rd photo, which is why I used it. But I want to play with a storyboard with a different set of three photos in the morning.

Here it is:

This is a 10x20, but you get the idea.

Hmm.. I would try centering the middle photo (like vertically... in other words, move it down so it's centered between the other two.) Or maybe you could even just crop it bigger and fill the entire space so that it's almost square, but equal in height to the others. I would also do a tighter crop on the right photo so she doesn't look "shorter" in it than in the left photo.

Oh, but for a quote if you want to leave it with the space there, maybe you could put something like "the journey to you" (talking to the baby) or "[im]patiently waiting." Oh, and I've always liked "If you think my hands are full, you should see my heart"

I'm sure she'll love this!

Brandi - I LOVE THAT QUOTE! So I used it. Wink

Three versions here, what do you think? Stacey, loved your conversions so I tried some chocolate here (and so the text matches the dark brown in my gradient)

One of the girls on the photography board gave me a great quote, and I turned it into word art. Three versions here ... what do you think? I'm going to give her both storyboards, but I'm not putting a quote on the vertical one.

And I ended up staying up even later and making a vertical storyboard. No quote though.

I think you got a great start Gwen, but I don't like all the white space in and around the images when you are dong an 11x14. You either need more images, or a different size.

I know, I hate being so limited. I'll have to see how she likes it before I do a size that we'll have to do mail order for.

in the meantime, is this any better?

And the baby is a boy. One of my scrapbooking friends suggested changing the pinks to blue. I did a quick play with it but need to work harder on getting all of the pink out of "love" before it's decent though.

I dont know about sizing issues but can you make the images a big bigger to take away some of the space?

I love the new ones. You could even try a different placement of the photos to fill more space on that size. Like..

Gwen, I'm a huge fan of storyboards, and I love how you have been playing around with this one for the expectant mom. I LOVE that quote and I bet it will look really cute with the blue tinted love and those words in the scriptina font. I like that you are working with lessoning the amount of white space. I know it can be difficult working with sizes to fit normal sized frames, I'm working on doing one right now with the pictures I took of Cadence at the beach.... I hope you'll share with us the final product!

I don't have time for a long c&c, Gwen, but I will say that I really like the last edit you posted. I know mom and family will truly treasure these.

TFS!

I like the last story board. But I still feel like there is a lot of white space. Is there anyway you can either make the pictures bigger or get it to a smaller size?

What a hard decision! I love them all. For some reason, my favorite layout of the pics is when they are vertical, but I know you can't add a quote. I like the last one best out of the horizontal, and yes, I agree, blue would be better!
