So we went to a little Halloween Party today. Jeanette dressed up but Mikael didn't want to put on his costume. I thought I would go ahead and enjoy myself instead of being photo mom walking around with my DSLR. Even for snaps I feel like a goof wearing it sometimes. I totally regret it now. I took pictures but with my point and shoot. And either I suck at taking pictures with it since I just bought it this past summer or it's just a bad camera. I miss my Sony the auto function on this new camera of mine sucks big time! Even if there is a teeny bit of light in the room, the flash might not go off. So I go into P mode instead. There is a Manual mode that I haven't really bothered to learn yet. I should have just taken my canon with me! Stupid me and stupid camera! I got some pictures though and that's the most important thing AND my daughter and I had fun. So did Mikael. We played games, colored, they got some temp. tattoos and lots of candy. It was fun. But gah! My P&S really pisses me off sometimes! It takes really nice quality pictures OUTDOORS in GOOD LIGHT but indoor shots really suck! thanks for letting me vent. It's been bugging me for some time. I think I just need to read the stinkin manual! grr!
From my experience Sony for cameras suck, I had a P&S and though it had way more settings than my Canon P&S I just like my Canon better. I have never had a DSLR but I could see how a P&S could seem horrible after getting used to one.

yes I am always disappointed in my P&S pictures. Well I shouldn't say always because some turn out quite good but those are usually the ones that were taken outside in good light I think I just need to figure out my Canon (Powershot SX210 if anyone was wondering) and then maybe I'll start getting the pictures that I want. IN focus and the flash not all weird looking. I really do like my new camera ...it's just that my Sony had clearer images with flash but I think that's only because I actually knew how to use that one more than I do this new one. It's just frustrating sometimes because it's hard taking snapshots anymore. Especially ones with flash. Now that I've had my dslr for awhile ya know?
that stinks. I feel the same about my P&S. I brought it to gymnastics yesterday, and struggled with getting any decent pictures. They're still on the camera, I haven't fully examined them yet.

That is frustrating. I find that I get really frustrated lugging my dslr around for snaps, like if it is night time, or there is low/no light. I have to use the on board flash, and the stupid thing can't focus in the dark. Am I missing something?? I've been finding myself dying for a point and shoot!
