So DH works rather long hours and is also on call every other weekend and at night. This Sunday I actually have a free day. I could take pictures without dragging the kids along because he isn't on call. So I have contacted anyone I could find. Not one person wants free pictures. I have three families that want pictures, but one is out of town this weekend and 2 said they want them in the fall. I was kind of taken aback by that response. So you get free pictures and get to pick when you want them! I made sure to tell them that my schedule is really tight because of DH's work schedule. I really want practice but I really hate begging people.
Anyway just venting to you all because I can!
I'm so sorry...that's such a bummer! I'd take some free pics!!!
ugh how annoying i'm sorry

I need some new pics of my girls if you'd like more practice!
Where is a good photog in Texas when I need one!
Thanks for humoring me ladies! Mostly I have been feeling like I need a little break away from the kids and this would be my first choice in ways to spend my time! I did end up finding someone in the end though!
You guys are nice for humoring me but I don't think you guys would want any pics from me. I just find it funny that some of my friends will pay Picture People when I think that I can at least give them something more meaningful than that for free. It is hard not to let it hurt my ego. But I know that I am still just learning. Maybe when I am awesome like you guys they will be knocking down my door!
I can't imagine ever being able to charge for something that I can't even give away for free!
I realize that this post seems very trivial in light of Meagan's post. In the grand scheme of things I am not too upset about it. I have been having anxiety attacks because I can't stop thinking about stuff that could happen to my kids or other kids ever since my one year old fell down our basement steps and was saved from the concrete floor by a pile of laundry. This happened three months ago. So think of it as a nervous chatter and ignore me.
Um...you're crazy! I absolutely would want pictures from you. You do great work. Seriously..if you're evern in my neck of the woods...we should totally trade photo sessions.
You'll get plenty of picture taking opportunities on Monday, I promise!
DH's family is coming into town for a few days and we're doing a big family photo with 25 of us. Unfortunately, I'm going to be in the picture so I was worried about how on earth we'd get a good shot just using the timer, especially when there are 5 kids under 1. Stephanie was generous and gracious enough to volunteer to drive out our way and take the pics. I promise in return that you'll get practice gallore. The entire family is so good looking. I've been counting the days til I could take loads and loads of pictures of them!
I also wanted to add that I really pushed myself on my playgroup friends when I was starting out because I wanted the practice and some of them didn't seem too eager to have pictures taken but now that I'm getting a lot better they're asking me to take pictures. Same thing will happen with you.
I saw what you wrote a couple posts up and just read Meagan's post for the first time - I feel absolutely sick inside. It really puts things into perspective hearing about a tragedy like that. Our kids bonk their head and cough up food so often they start to seem invincible. The thought of losing one of my kids is too painful to bare. I honestly don't know how I'd be able to survive without them.
