UPDATE:
I just called Canon because still hadn't heard from them yet. The nice woman on the phone indicated that I should have received an e-mail yesterday (they had my e-mail wrong) to inform me that my camera has been fixed. It was just some connections that needed to be reconnected. They replaced the back panel (where it was dropped and had gotten chipped/broken) and also cleaned the sensor while there.......FOR NO COST!!! The repairs were covered under warrenty and all I'm out of is the overnight shipping I paid. I'm just so happy that my stupidity didn't cost me more! There's a HUGE weight lifted off my shoulders now. I can finally breath!!! Now I'm REALLY off to go buy my Black Rapid RS-W1 strap I've wanted

I had a shoot this morning and it was going Wonderfully. We were about a half hour in and I'm showing one of the little boys what I wanted him to do. I hopped down off the wall and my camera fell out of my hand...and onto a concrete sidewalk! I kept my freak out internal and fiddled with the camera. No go, it's broken. I hold my composure and I profusely apologize to the family. The poor mom asked me if I needed a minute, at that moment she was freaking out more than I was. I just brushed it off and said we'd do another half hour shoot when I got my camera figured out.
Well, I get in the car after they leave and that's when the freak out hits! I get home and on the phone with Canon. It's got to be the shutter. It won't do anything, flashes Error 50 on the LCD. My brother comes over so I can test my lens and make sure it's OK (it is). My camera is now in a box at the UPS store for overnight delivery to a Canon service center. This just stinks!
PSA: WEAR YOUR STRAP!!!!!

Oh no! Ouchie!Poor you! Sorry that happened! I was gonna ask about the strap then saw what the last thing you wrote was. I hardly ever take it off especially during a shoot (as if I have lots lol). I am so scared it will fall or something. I sure hope yours gets fixed and it's nothing more than the shutter. Are you able to upload your pictures that you took so far from the shoot?
Ouch... time for a upgrade![]()

Just chug-chug-chugging along.
Oh no, I'm sorry! Well done for holding it all together, I'm not sure I could have done the same.
Fingers crossed that Canon fixes it quickly and it doesn't cost you a lot. That really sucks!
Thanks for the support girls. I'm bummed to the Nth degree!!
Loida, I was able to get all the photos from the shoot, THANKFULLY!! I'm pretty happy with what I got, too.
El, HA! about the upgrade. I'm afraid I probably am going to miss out on some X-mas gifts because of this unexpected cost
Thankfully my brother let me borrow his camera for the session I had the following morning. Now I only have to make up a half hour I missed with the family I broke my camera with.
I'm GOING to get that Black Rapid RS-W1 strap I've been eyeing. Camera strap WILL be on me at all times from now on...well, from when I get my camera back, that is![]()
Did you send it to Canon for repair? When my camera broke it was under warranty, I sent it in and it was back and good as new in 3 days.
