I have been thinking that I need to start watermarking pictures more. A few weeks ago I created a watermark that I posted here. It said SB Photography with a stick sketch of my kids.
Well there is a thread on ILP that got me rethinking using it. The thread is about how to get responses but there is a tangent about people using watermarks that give the impression that they are in business when they don't know the basics. Well I for sure don't have all the basics down and am definitely not in business so I was thinking that I should change it. But I don't want to use something boring like (C) with my name. What are your thoughts on this?
I think that you should do something that you like and reflects your personality. Who cares what it implies!!! If you arent advertising, then I dont think anyone should get the wrong impression that you are in business. You have a right to use your creativeness to put a cool watermark on your photos! >steps off soap box...![]()
I say to heck with the ILP and their picky rules. If you want it to say photography then let it say that.. You have the right to use "photography" even if they think its not "great" pictures... Its still photography.
ILP is dumb. Anyone SHOULD watermark their work and they have every right to do it however they please. I say "WHATEVER" to that ILP comment.
you can watermark with whatever you want to - that's just crazy!!!
Thanks girls! I very well know that I don't have everything down and am happily learning. I don't want anyone to think that I don't realize that. So I may just change it to my name and the kids and drop the photography part. Make it more like a signature rather than a business name.
I agree - if you feel you need to watermark your images, do it however you want to.
ILP isn't always right.![]()
I thought your watermark was super cute, and that you should watermark your photos regardless of what ILP people think. GAH, what a stupid post that was.
