Default watermarks.. where do I start??

I need one but have NO idea where to start? I don't want to put them on images for people, but for the ones I share in public places like facebook or flikr. Would love to hear any suggestions or if you can point me in the right direction!

    THANKS!

I've read that some people hire someone to design one for them, or you can make your own in Photoshop/Paintshop/etc....there is a tutorial on one of the sticky threads at this forum....or ask someone like me who loves to make graphics for people you could ask one of us to make one for you, if you give us some ideas of what you'd like it to look like.

There is a post in the tutorial thread. I actually just opened a blank canvas, put my brush on (my owl) and then typed my text. Then I clicked "edit" "define brush" and there it was. But, mine is just simple. I don't know what all you want.

for mine, I have a separate psd file that has my two layers (g & photography are two different layers). they're both toned down in opacity, and I just open that document and drag those layers over my web resized and sharpened image and then save the file. check the turorial in the sticky for designing. recommend you always watermark anything you share online, via email and web. you don't want your images stolen or claimed to be the work of someone else. even the photos you share with your clients, the web versions should always have your signature, so to speak.

Okay.. i know this is probably a VERY basic question but it's something I've just not looked up yet.. but how exactly do you format for 'web' and what do you do to 'sharpen for web' ?? I usually just post to flikr and share that way b/c they alway seem to look good on flikr but if i post a personal image on my facebook or something it looks fuzzy and NOT how it looks for real.

I'm gonna check out the tutorial on watermarking. .thanks!

Okay.. how's this for starters? Also, any tips on how to sharpen it to post on my facebook or other websites would be greatly appreciated! On Flikr (and here) they look great.. but on facebook they look like crap! UGH!

That looks like a good basic watermark. I know what you mean, Facebook makes pictures look very unfocused. Not sure why.
