Default Wedding & Family portrait share

I was so stinking nervous during that wedding. I so wish I had a better lens that could have helped, but they are very pleased with what they have seen so far! I am thankful for that. A week before the wedding I had a very quick photo shoot. The kids weren't cooperative at all- been through some stuff, but I did get a couple of shots of the g-parents. CC if you would please. All wedding pics were shot with my 50mm, 1.8 and my speedlight, and the family pics were with my 50mm, 1.8

I love the grandparents' shot! I think the top of his head/should is blown, but I'm sure you know that! Doesn't ruin the pic for me. Great emotion!

    The wedding pics
    1. sweet moment with her parents(?) Wish we could see more of their faces
    2. I think this is nice. I am horrible at pp, but would this be a picture that portraiture would be good for? Not heavy, but maybe just a little...?
    3. I like that we can see the Christmas tree! Wish I could see a little more of him in the mirror too, but overall I like it!
    4. I'm not crazy about this, but can't put my finger on why. I actually think I would like 1 and 3 in color and this in b&w...not sure.

I know you were nervous about the conditions and the lens situation, but you gotta get out there to learn, right?! I say good for you, and I would love to see more!

I struggled big time with room in the wedding pics, like the one of the bride and her parents bc I had my back against the wall on numbers 1&2. Number 3 wasn't something I planned on, I just walked in and he was looking at himself. I will try to share the color versions, and I agree on portraiture would help. Thanks so much of your cc!

You've got a great eye for composition and it really shows! I love #2 and #3 the best. The intimacy and emotions in #1 and #5 are also wonderful. I like #4, too; my only critique is that I would have liked to see the other guy's face more so that he wasn't behind the groom. That's hard to do, though--You can't really ask wedding party members to pose during the vows! All in all, great job!!!

WOW! I can see why the bride and groom are happy with what you were able to get for them! My favorite is the groom in the mirror. And while it may not have been planned, the fact that you grabbed it when you saw it says just how much you have a great eye for this kind of thing! I confess that I would like to see that one in color though.

LOVE the shot of the grandparents too. What a wonderful, loving moment between them. I am sure they will love it too!
