Default What do you do with all of the pictures?

Let me start out by saying that I took a ton of pictures BEFORE I got the DSLR ... and now it's just insane. I'm a scrapbooker, and used to be pretty good at deciding what to scrapbook. But now I feel paralyzed. I have too many pictures. I can't do a layout for every picture of my kids that I love, because there are too many. Most of my photography is just practice - the "official" shoots are the ones I frame. Anyhow, I just have all of these digital images of my kids and I hate that they're just on my computer. Does that make sense?

What do you do with yours?

I save them and that's about it I have an external hard drive (1 TB) for just pictures. After the year is over, since I have them sorted by month, then by day, I move them over to one of my external HD's and delete the rest of them off my computer to free up space and start all over again I double check them though, to make sure they are all there. This takes some time but it gets done. And if I want to print some out I pick only a few good ones, my faves of the month, and get those printed and put in some sort of photo album or I scrapbook them. Just depends I guess. I haven't really scrapbooked anything for a few weeks or printed anything since we just got some ink in our printer. I'd LOVE some more pictures on my walls though. I'm just sooo bad about where on my wall to put them. I got an idea from some nice lady who puts up a picture of her kids on the wall of every year. So birth, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 2 years. I liked that idea so I might steal it. Anyway sorry rambling. I feel ya. I have too many pictures and don't know what to do with them all!

I feel the same way Gwen...I have wayyyyy too many in some people's opinion, but just enough for me! I burn them to a cd. I don't have an external hard drive, but hope to one day. I just label each one so I know what's on it. It's something **I** have to do b/c Randall wouldnt' have a clue.

I'm not sure if you were really asking about backup strategies, but ....

I have my files on hard disk in 2 locations, I upload to a site, and I use an external hard drive.

As for what do I DO w/ my photos??? Like you, I have TONS! A very small number are printed and displayed around the home. I have a few more up around my office. A few go on my blog. Once or twice a year, I scrapbook a few (really need to get back into that swing). But the rest .... once I've shared the on-line gallery w/ family and friends, I will pick a few to print and those go in my mommy brag book. I switch out the photos about every 3 months. Those are the ones I show off side lines at soccer games or in judo practice.

    HTH.

    Take care,
