What would you do with this?

Okay, I promise I am not going to do this with all of the photos I'm working on. Lol I know the comp isn't great here, I was lucky to get the half smile from the baby and I didn't chop any fingers. Lol

This is SOOC ... he has some mild baby acne but I'm feeling reluctant to do some skin smoothing. I am unsure of how I want to go about PPing this one. Does it bother you that the fleece he's on is lighter than the black behind him? It was two different fabrics ... I'm scared to burn the fleece so close to his face to darken it.

Here are my plays basically what I did was copied background used a layer mask and burned the fleece to darken it and masked back in what I burned on the baby (that sounds bad, haha!) I left the baby acne because, well, I don't like to skin soften babies. and sharpened the eyes and a little bit on the lips. The B&W action I used was Lemondrops Basic B&W. Smile

Here is my play. I basically did selective coloring and upped the black. Then masked the baby back in. Remove some of the yellow, magenta and ran noiseware, and then sharpen for web.

I don't have time to play, but I think this would really work as a B&W of some sort.

thanks girls! the mom was concerned about the baby acne, so in some of my other edits last night, I did run some skin smoothing (but lowed the opacity, because baby looked fake with it at 100%). those are in my flickr, if you'd like to see.

I do like the conversion, I think that's lovely! so thanks for that idea! I have the Lemondrop actions, they're neat. Smile

I wish I had the option for selective coloring layer. but I have other options to up the blacks.
