I'm making this for my house, on canvas (it's going to be 10" tall and 36" wide, so cool!)
I'm making one for my good friend and neighbor, as a thank you for a LOT of help she's given me in decorating my house (and she inspired me to take on this project).
I've been taking LOTS of letter pictures, I'm pretty sure I have the entire alphabet, and more than one of many letters. I'm going to make desk versions for teacher gifts this year - they'll be mounted on styrene so they can go in a little stand.
Well, some of my friends want to buy them for gifts too. I have no idea what to charge! I've spent HOURS on this, trying to get the colors just right, and I've designed a couple of templates. I'm still trying to find somewhere to get them printed in custom sizes (unless I just stick with 10x20 for a default size since frames are easy enough for that size). Each name I do will take time, as I'm a perfectionist. I'd love to have the business, since paid sessions aren't happening yet for me, but I don't know what to charge. I'm thinking $25-$40 for the image itself, but I just don't know. I hate struggling with putting a price on my work and time. Getting it printed will definitely add on to the cost, but right now I am more concerned with putting a price on the actual design.
Sure would love your thoughts on this. Thanks!
