Katie - Lunch with College room mates sounds like fun. It's great that you had nice weather and could get out with the kids.
Mary - Sounds like the land could be decent, has your uncle been out to see it since he'd be the one building on it?
Glad to hear baby is now past 38 weeks. I only went into labour once on my own and I would let work know the second it started and head home ASAP if it started there.
Lauren - Hope all the appointments go fairly smooth, it's difficult doing all that stuff with little ones.
Went to see my Dad on Saturday, he's doing much better, talked and talked when DH and I were there. He really wants to eat but can't quite yet, they are working on breathing tests over the next few days if he passes them he is much closer to being able to eat. DH is going to try and get off work early on Wednesday since it's my Dad's birthday, I want to visit him then.
Natalie has been challenging lately, she'll be hyper and happy one moment and whiny and unwilling to do anything the next. I hope the weather is nice tomorrow so we can get outside and do something.
Dang katie you should have said something, i'm only a hop away from Orlando :)
I still lurk this thread nearly every day but i just never have much to add. ;)
So something may or may not be happening... Not sure yet. I've been having more cramping/discomfort today than normal, and then I had my NST at 5pm tonight. I was there close to an hour and a half on the monitors and I was contracting pretty regularly in that time. I wasn't paying attention to the time to know how far apart they were, but they were coming regularly and looked to be getting bigger by the peaks on the monitor. I didn't think the nurse was going to mention it, but she eventually asked me if I was feeling them. I told her yes. The NST was done, so she sent me home, but told me to come back if they get to like every 3 minutes, painful enough that I can't talk through them, etc. So we shall see. I'm sorta doubting it will pick up, but at the same time, this is the most my body has ever done without being hooked up to pitocin, so it gives me some hope.
ETA: It seems that being home has caused it to peter out. Should've stayed at the hospital, haha (funny because people commonly say it happens the opposite way). ;) I can only hope it will come back. :)
any more news yet, Mary? How has today been going for you?
AFM: last night DH had to work until 3:30am. insane. He's exhausted and it's still so early in the week. His work really has to lighten up soon. It's wearing us both out.
But, can I just say... http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l1...ps5c6c2744.gif wow.
Virginia - Congrats on 2 years of BFing!! And happy belated birthday to little man! I have trouble keeping up with all of them. Can't believe how fast they grow!!
AFM - Nothing exciting, booo! I was hoping for an April 30th baby, so I'm disappointed that the contractions went away, haha. I guess unless something intense happens in the next few hours, we'll officially be having a May baby. I've had a few contractions today, but nothing like yesterday. They were coming so regularly and getting stronger... before they went away, haha. Today, it has just been very sporadic. I had to work all day. It is getting difficult to stand 8 straight hours while this pregnant. My back is killing me. And I am freaking EXHAUSTED. I can't imagine being more exhausted than this, even with a newborn who wants to eat every other hour. I'm dying here. I see my OB tomorrow... Anxious to see if the cervix has changed at all. It sucks that I'm seeing him after work because I know I'm going to be in discomfort like I am now... Which will make it difficult to fight him on the whole induction thing. We'll see how it goes. I hope my fluid is still at an acceptable level. I assume he'll check it again.
GL tomorrow, Mary.
AFM: Oliver's stats from his doc appt. at 2 all my boys have been the exact same height: 36.5". But, Oliver is only 30.5lbs! His brothers were 33lbs and 34lb 10oz at 2. He seems so light to me. His BMI is only 36th percentile, so I finally got my skinny one. And his head is only 75th percentile, compared to 95th and 99th for his brothers. I swear, the head is one of the reasons Alex is so heavy.
He did really well with his finger stick and shot (I bet the lollipop I gave him right before helped ;)) He's still not talking much, but he has enough words to keep us from being worried.
Virginia - Glad Oliver is doing well! All I have are skinny boys, so I'm used to it. Xander was only 33 lbs at 3 years! haha. I think he's gained a bit since then, though. Still super skinny, but craaaazy tall! He gets weighed tomorrow, actually, so I'm curious to see where he's at.
Mary - I hope something starts to happen for you soon! You poor thing having to stand for so long! I could've never handled that at the end of Benjamins pregnancy. Xander, maybe... But Benjamin about killed me. lol
AFM - Xander has his physical tomorrow for his outpatient dental procedure next week. We've been trying to prep him, but he's not happy. He does not do well at these types of things. Hopefully he'll do better this time since he's gotten his medical kit. Today he gave me a checkup and I was pointing out how the doctor would listen to his heart like he was listening to mine, look in his eyes/ears, etc. The wild card is that I'm not sure if they need to take blood or not. I have zero clue what they'll do besides the basic stuff. Hopefully he doesn't get a shot/blood draw, because that's when it'll all fall apart.
Then on Thursday I finally meet with a real allergist! I'm going to get something figured out for my seasonal allergies, but also find out if I'm allergic to any other foods. I feel like a might be, but I can't pinpoint what it is in my diet. It could just be environmental stuff, like maybe mold or something. Our washer leaked a long time ago and I recently realized it got some nearby boxes wet and they're a little moldy... So maybe that? But it's my throat, so maybe not. Anyway, NO clue but I figure I'll have him check. I have no idea what to expect at this appointment. Like how many things can they test for on your back? I want all nuts and legumes tested, as well as all the common ones. Plus a few others, like Guinea pig. lol. (my SIL has one and my throat closes up whenever we're all at the in laws house, so I kind of want PROOF that I'm severely allergic so she won't bring it anymore - and I know I'm SEVERELY allergic to this thing because I can. not. breath. and honestly lie in bed all night wondering if I'm going to die). Anyway, not even sure if they could fit all the food things, animals, AND seasonal stuff on my back. And will they give me Benadryl after this whole thing since my back is likely to be itchy as heck?
Quickly catching up...
Lauren: that's interesting that a Guinea pig would be that big of a trigger for you. Hope the allergist can help you out! My DH sees one for his non-food allergies to...uh, everything(!)...and it has helped a ton. And GOOD LUCK with Xander today!!
Mary: have a great appointment, I hope you're dilated to like a 4 ;)
Katie: sounds like fun seeing your roommates. Enjoy Orlando, hopefully the weather will at least be nice!
Amanda: glad you were able to see your dad. That sounds horrible not being able to eat!! Natalie and Brekke must have caught the same sassy bug because that is exactly what she's been like all week. It's making me insane.
We found a car! :yahoo: Got it on Monday night - '12 Mazda CX9. I'm pretty happy with it but very sad that it means I need to start prepping my beloved car to sell :( Seriously, DH is pushing me to get it detailed this week so we can list it this weekend and I'm dragging my feet because I just want it to sit here and be useless so I can look at it and be close to it (haha). Okay not really, but I hate to sell it and really wouldn't if it was just wasn't practical to try to squeeze another kid into it. Wish me luck the car sells fast so I can "rip the bandage off" and be done with it ;) Anyway, now I have the next month to just obsess about baby names.
Side note: I woke up to SNOW this morning. And of course, we were storing my BIL's boat all winter since we have extra garage space and made him come get it yesterday so we didn't have to park a car outside again and then it just had to snow on it so he's probably upset. Oh well...who would've thought we'd get a MAY snowstorm!?
Mary - Too bad the contractions tapered off :(, good sign that baby might try and come on his own though.
Virginia - I don't know how you have the patients to BF for two years. Congrats!
Glad Oliver's 2 year check-up went well, can't believe he's 2 already. All your boys are big, Nat is still under 30 lbs and over 4 years old. Haven't checked her height, but she's pretty short. Short and skinny run in both families, so it doesn't shock me.
Lauren - Wish I could give you some advice, but I've always had easy kids when it came to visiting the doctor. I think with Natalie it's cause I have to visit one on a regular basis and I am fairly comfortable looking around them (at least on the outside).
My DH just did 2 allergy tests (seperate days), first for food, second for environmental, they did them on his arm, so they may split yours. Nothing came back as critical, had minor allergies to certain plants which we knew, and was surprised he was allergic to Rabbits and Hamsters, but not Guinea Pigs. I never really liked rodents as pets (except ferrets) so not a biggie.
Ashley - Yay for a new car, I don't drive so not a concern here. DH will be jumping for joy when he can get rid of this Civic, Honda cut corners on the 2012 model making it not as nice, it's also been through quite a few minor accidents.
I'm happy to see snow gone, but it's still May I don't trust the weather until the end of the month here, Ontario weather is fun that way.
Went to see the doctor about some stomach issues, right now I am just going take some fiber by her suggestion and get some tests run. I am going to pass on the Prevacid (a drug she prescribed), one of the possible side effects is "jerking muscle movements" and I already have that thanks to dystonia, don't want to make it worse with a drug.
Weather is beautiful today, wish I wasn't in the office all day. :(
OK what is with this why would I take a medication that give me worse stomach problems than what I have? To top it if she's concerned that my issue may be constipation why give a drug that causes it? OMG doctors are going to drive me INSANE!
