My m/s has never really cleared up before 14 weeks. Last time it took until 16 weeks for me to get off the zofran.

Ashley - my mom and her older sister were both pregnant at the same time. I was born several months before my cousin and my mom named me after her mom. My aunt flipped out because she had been planning to use my name for her kid. My mom told her to go ahead and use it, too. She didn't, and it would have been a little weird for me if she had. But I saw that cousin 2-4 times a year growing up.

Then, when I was pregnant with Raymond, DH's cousin had a baby girl and used the exact name I wanted for a girl. Same first, middle, and last. They live across the country and I've only met the cousin once years ago. We're unlikely to see them often, but DH still doesn't feel comfortable using the name (not that it's ever really been an issue since we have boys).

So... it's a tough call. I'd say if you both really like the name then keep it in the running. If there's another you like just as much, maybe it could help sway you towards that name instead.

ETA: Mary and Ashley, we need more belly pics! I'm going to take one and try to get it up (if the boys let me). I feel like it's been ages since we saw new ones from either of you!

Ashley - Tricky situation with the naming. I don't think I could do it, but I'm weird about not wanting to know ANYONE with the names I pick (that's why it's so difficult for me to find names, because I also don't want them to be overly weird names, haha). You might not really ever see the kid again, but will it be weird if you see your cousin who is the dad?

Lauren - Glad you got a good night of sleep. I hope it continues! OMG, I love sleep so freaking much. Wish I could sleep right now.

Virginia - Sorry the m/s is striking again. I lucked out of it with Calvin, but with Sean and this baby, mine held on for a solid 16 weeks or more. Ugh. So miserable.

AFM - I'm feeling way too pregnant today. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow, and I feel like I can't possibly go on another day. I think being sick the last couple days, then having to go stand at work all day today certainly did not help the situation. I'm not convinced I'll make it to my due date, to be honest. I had a lot of contractions today at work. Baby was REALLY active through it all. It felt like he was going to simultaneously pop out through my cervix and kick a hole through my abdomen. OMG. I can't even really blame the contrax on dehydration, because I drank A LOT today at work. Anyway, just resting for now, but I don't have a day off until Tuesday, which is when my next OB appointment is. I sorta managed to skip an appointment, so it will have been a month since I last saw my doc, lol. Oh well. I've still been doing NST's twice weekly, which I figure is more extensive monitoring than anything he'd do in 5 minutes in the office.

I hope the contractions stop again, Mary. He needs to stay put another 2 weeks!

DH is working later tonight. Honestly, I'm kind of happy about it. He's been coming home just in time to help put the kids to bed then he gets dinner then he wants to hang out and talk. I've put myself on pelvic rest until the SCH heals (except that I do still BF, which I guess isn't really allowed under pelvic rest) so I feel like I should at least stay up and talk if he wants. So I've been getting to bed later than I'd like. But tonight... the kids are in bed, I pulled out a book I haven't read for a long time, I'm going to go take a nice bath and get to bed. I hope.

Virginia - Sounds like a nice peaceful night. I think I'm long overdue for one of those. I was up at 3am puking again. I swear I'm puking more in the 3rd trimester this time than I did in the first with any of my pregnancies. I went to the hospital again, just because it's not making any sense to me. I've been worried that it's baby/pregnancy-related. But my labs were normal again. Just seems unbelievable to have a stomach bug three times in the span of about 3 months. WOW. Anyway, I'm missing work this weekend. My boss has to hate me. I feel like such an idiot when I miss work, and between these stomach problems and Calvin's arm, I feel like I've missed a lot lately. Oh well. Such is life.

I got to see some fun stuff while I was in the hospital. One girl came in right after me and her water had broken. She was younger, 22, and on her 3rd child (wow, not wasting time!) and she was giving her man a LOT of attitude, lol. She said she had a t-shirt shoved down her pants to absorb the fluid. I was mildly jealous, hahaha. I never get to go into labor on my own. That said, she did say that her first two were inductions and this was her first time going into labor on her own.. So maybe there's hope.

And then as I was leaving, a new mom was being wheeled out to the car to bring home her new baby. OMG, it was so little and precious. I had forgotten how freaking tiny they are when they come out. It gave me just what I needed to get through the next 5 +/- weeks. As I was laying in the hospital feeling like horrid crap, hooked up to all the monitors and IV's and whatnot, I began to really, REALLY dread labor and delivery. But seeing the new sweet babe reminded me of what it's all for.

Mary I have been following on FB I hope you're doing better!! That pregnant and that sick is an awful combo

Virginia - I hope you're feeling better hoping Monday is great and you can spread the word on baby #4!!

Lauren - You are woman for pumping middle of the night that long! I don't have any advice though b/c I'm apparently from wet nurse lines and my boys were total chunks until about 15 months when they both fell back to around 50-70th percentile in weight. I actually have ~150 oz in my freezer I need to just throw away. Rory still nurses before bed but I think I'lll probably wean him completely in the next few months.

Amanda - I hope your dad is doing better!

Ashley - Glad the bed transition is going OK

Man it's been a long week. My company had lay offs for the first time ever (literally in 80 years first time ever) and it has totally whacked out the dynamic at work. I wasn't touched (only 34 people were so we're not talking major #s but some of the people were long time well respected contributing people) I was actually kind of promoted but it has just created this atmosphere of stress and judging. Looking at people and wondering how they survived when others didn't. It's just messy and ugly and nothing we've ever dealt with. From my end it has only further reinforced that I need to keep my career in perspective and do what I need to do to move it forward, any company loyalty I had was definitely impacted.

To boot Rory got croup this week and daycare called the day they were laying people off. Ugh luckily DH left to get him and stayed home with him. He's doing much better today though and all seems on the mend

Katie - I hope the croup clears up. It can be scary!

Mary - I hope you feel better soon. Maybe you're getting really sensitive to certain foods or something?

I've started to feel occasional BH. Woohoo. Always starts around 12w for me. And maybe some more little tap type feelings. maybe.

Virginia - Glad this pregnancy seems to be going along normally, aside from the SCH. Hopefully it managed to clear itself up.

Katie - I hope Rory feels better. Boo for the work layoffs. That's how I felt when my work laid off like 13 pharmacists from my old district. Ugh. Some of them were understandable, others were like, "WTF, why would they get rid of that person?!" That's part of why I get so stressed out when I have to take sick days, like, "Oh no, what if I'm next??" Then again, would they really get rid of a 35-week pregnant woman? That sorta screams law suit to me, haha.

AFM - I've given up on food for the rest of this pregnancy. I can make it 5 weeks on bland diet, right? I need to find a bland source of protein. I know you generally avoid dairy with stomach illness, but I was reading about plain yogurt and how it can benefit. I suppose that makes sense with the active cultures in it. I'm not really fond of the taste of plain yogurt, but it's bland enough and would have some protein. All I've really got otherwise are dry toast, crackers, bananas, applesauce, maybe pretzels or boiled potatoes if I can stomach them. I'm just trying some plain rice right now. Can't even really stomach ginger ale. Gatorade goes down okay, but gives me HORRIBLE heartburn. I swear I just give up until the end. *Sigh*

    Hello all -
Just being lazy this morning. I suppose that's for the best. I need to rest and regain some energy. I feel hungry, but eating is a sore topic. Funny, I was on track to gain way more weight with this bean than the others, and now after being sick so much over the last month, I'm pretty much on par with the others. Of course, I'd rather just gain some extra weight and be able to eat whatever the heck I want. Blah. I told myself I wouldn't do it, but I'm officially wishing the pregnancy away. I want to see his face, feel that super-soft newborn skin, and let my body return to some shred of normalcy. I think this is the earliest I've ever felt "done" but I feel like I'm there already. I'm sure it's mostly just because my morale is low. I'd be gung-ho for another 5 or 6 weeks (lol) if I felt better, could eat/drink whatever I want, etc. Yes, even drinking is a chore. I'd kill for some awesome freaking Mexican food slathered in that fatty white queso sauce now, but of course that would just come right back up, haha. So I'll lay here and think about eating some plain mashed potatoes or something.

ETA: I can tell I'm sitting around more than normal, because I'm the only one here chatting, haha. I have the most unbelievable heartburn. It doesn't respond to pepcid or zantac. OMG, I can't wait to give birth! I've managed to keep in some food today... 2 small bananas, small amounts of applesauce and mashed potatoes, most of a can of chicken noodle soup, and I just tried a small bowl of cereal (which was really daring, and the jury is still out on that one). Better than yesterday, I guess. I'm dreading work tomorrow. I'll probably just take another can of soup or cook some rice or something to take to eat at work.

Virginia - You could do a craft with the kids that somehow is related to baby. Maybe have them all paint their own I'm going to be a big brother shirt. That could also be your announcement for family by giving a picture of the boys in the shirts.

Sorry about the M/S I was never spared it with either of my pregnancies so I feel for you.

Mary - Spring has been pretty rough for sickness in our household too, hope everyone is better soon.

Lauren - Sounds like you are figuring out a good night routine. Sorry to hear Xander has allergies.

Ashley - Good luck with the name. My grandma and great aunt (who are sisters) used the same name with their sons. My aunt asked permission first though. So I don't think there will be too much issue with using the same name.

    *AFM*

My great aunt, who is a nurse, came up on the weekend to see my dad, she believes the local hospital could be doing more for him. Her and my mom are going today to have a talk with the doctors, they might try and have him transfered to a different hospital to get better treatment. I really am glad that we have someone in the family that is a professional in the medical field.

Provincials for Dana's hockey team didn't go so well, they got eliminted pretty quick. We got to see the Canadian Women's Hockey team kick Finland's teams butt 8-0 that hockey game was fun. The weekend over all was pretty good.

The animals were well behaved while we were away, I always worry about them so that was good too.

Was sick last night, pretty sure it was food poisoning, cause I was ill and then nothing all night or this morning.

Today I am in the office, should be working but having a difficult time for lots of reasons, lack of sleep over the weekend and my dad being in hospital are two of them.

I need a hair cut, my bangs are awful, still too short cause the last girl butchered them, the back is too long so that needs trimming up. I'll ask for Krys since when I had her she did my hair PERFECT, she also knew exactly what I wanted, maybe she can fix the hack job from last cut.
