Ugh... Peanut paid all night long for eating the crayons. He was up vomiting (underneath our bed)... So DH cleaned it in the middle of the night with this loud carpet cleaning machine. I'm just glad he cleaned it, so I didn't have to. But my poor dog... I was worried about him. Still am, a little. I'm worried about bowel obstruction or something, but he seems a tad better today.

Today was Cal's 6-month appointment. He did GREAT. He was so peaceful the whole time. He fell asleep between when the doctor saw him and when the nurse came for his vaccines. We had to wake him up to give him his shots and oral rotavirus vaccine. Haha. Then he fussed briefly when she gave the shots and that was it. He was back to smiling and being peaceful and passed out as soon as we got in the car. He was 17lb 9oz, 17" head (or maybe 17.5, I forget already), and I think 26.5" long. He's sticking right along the 50th percentile line for everything and the doc was happy with his development.

The doc talked to me for a bit about Sean too, which was nice since he wasn't even there with me (he and DH stayed home with Peanut). Anyway, she told me to call her once we had the results of his blood allergy test back, so we know for sure what we're going to be restricting, and she said she would refer us to a nutritionist at Children's hospital, so we can make sure he's getting the proper nutrients with all the food restrictions. So I'm just waiting on the results of that test.

Mary - That was nice - and working with a nutritionist sounds like a good thing if you have to restrict stuff so much! Heck you might all eat better! Cal sounds like such a good baby! Poor Peanut! I hate when my dogs get in to things they shouldn't I mean the stuff can't taste good what the heck?

Laura - YAY TICKER so excited for you

I'm at the office today and in a bad mood HAHA My whole dept is in a bad mood so it's just rubbing off. Same old same old - unattainable targets, meetings telling us we're falling short blah blah blah blah Plus a co worker who should work WITH me on things has an irritating habit of just DOING things and then I have to back track all of it which pisses me off. But I know from experience it does little good to call him out and only creates more friction. Oh well 5 day weekend ahead!

Mary: Oh goodness! I'm sorry to hear that Peanut was sick lots last night! That dog makes for some interesting stories!

Katie: sorry about everyone being in a bad mood at the office. My students are so exhausted since it's the beginning of the year and they're DONE after lunchtime... but then I still have to teach/entertain them for 3 hours. Is it Friday yet?!?

AFM: My beta was only 30 yesterday. Those FRER are some crazy sensitive tests! My progesterone was borderline at 16, so I'm on those nasty supplements again, but it'll be worth it. I go in for repeat blood work on Tuesday.

I've been a bundle of emotions today. I'm so grateful for this pregnancy, but I feel guilty about having another one. Claire is still a baby! Granted, she'll be 16 months when this one is due, but I can't think of her as a toddler just yet. Most of the day I spent in disbelief (I feel like this will be an ongoing theme for a bit.) and the other parts I'm giddy with excitement or crying because the thought is overwhelming.

I'm slowly getting use to the idea of being pregnant again. My body has already accepted it and is already starting to bloat up like a balloon. Whoever said 2nd pregnancies show sooner wasn't lying. Yikes! I hope to hide it for at least a month or 2, I pray I can be successful!

All these feelings are normal, right?!?

    PS) Sorry for the book!

Laura - I think they are TOTALLY normal and I think even if you had waited longer etc you'd still feel exactly the same! I worry about juggling 2 at 23 months apart. Evan is a toddler, in to everything, busy how will I handle it and give him all he wants and needs and give the baby it. But it works! My sis is 22 months younger than I am and I always had a best friend - and still do! Claire will have the same in her baby sis/bro and you'll have 2 close together that can always do things together! It will be wonderful - exhausting I'm sure but what about parenting isn't? It's one of those wonders it's tiring and yet energizing all in one! Fingers crossed for a HH9M for you

Its 345 and I'm up again. I guess my body doesnt need sleep anymore. And least it gives me a chance to post.

Mary- Sorry about the crayons. That sounds like no fun. Especially in the middle of the night. Hope the nutritionalist is able to give you some good food ideas.

Katie- It stinks that everyone was in a bad mood. How far along are you now? I think we need a new belly picture.

Laura- I can imagine how tired your kids are by the afternoon. That is a long day for a little one. Mason is asleep by 730 most nights and since I dont get home til 7 2 nights a week and 530 another night. It feels like I never see the kid! Your feelings are totally normal! I'm still so excited for you. Aiden and Evan are 15 1/2 months apart and Mason and Savannah were 14 1/2 months apart so having them close together must not be so bad!

Hello to everyone else! I keep reading but by time I get ready to post I usually have a kid climbing on counters or eating something they aren't suppose to. One of these days I'll be more active again.

Laura: my DH & his brother are 17 months apart and my MIL survived so I'm sure it'll be fine! You figure out a lot while you are pregnant how you are going to make everything work (like meals, bedtime, etc) because you have plenty of time to think about it. Not everything falls right into place, but if you go at it with the best attitude you can (which I know you will! ) then it works out. I'm so happy for you!

Katie: Sorry about the crappy day at work. DS & DD are 23 months apart too and it has been way better than I thought it would be...she grew up a lot when he was born it seems like. There are moments when both are upset & I have to pick which one to deal with first, but usually it flows pretty well. And she's young enough that she doesn't clearly remember him not being here at this point. I think you'll like it

Karen: sorry you can't sleep! We had a rough night around here too. Hope you get caught up on some sleep tonight.

Mary: ugh sorry about Peanut! My [idiot] dog ate a pantyliner a few weeks ago out of the garbage and eventually threw up all over my house (of course he goes straight to the carpet to puke, not on the wood floors that would be much easier to clean).

Dane was really gassy last night & could not get settled to sleep until after midnight, then woke up at 5 am, so I'm one tired mommy today! I had an iced latte yesterday afternoon so I'm wondering if it was either that caffeine or the milk - Brekke didn't tolerate milk well when she was an infant so that's definitely a possibility...I don't eat a ton of dairy otherwise so it's hard to tell. Had my 6 week postpartum visit yesterday which went well other than that Brekke cried anytime someone in scrubs came near her (probably thanks to her recent 2 year pedi appt). Anyway, we're going to apply for his passport today since we're going to Mexico in November..I think it's kind of stupid you need a passport for a baby.

Ash - I HATE when dogs do that! Every dog I've ever had has done that. Peanut now also pulls my BOOB PADS out of the trash, LOL. He is sooooo gross.

Karen - I'll bet your house is like a zoo, hahahaha. Mine is getting there slowly, but surely, hahaha. I've been less active lately too.

Katie - Woohoo for a 5-day weekend ahead. I have 6 days off coming up, but only after working my 9 days in a row, and unfortunately today is only day 4. Ugh! I can't wait for those 6 glorious days, though!

    Laura - TOTALLY normal emotions!!

AFM - Starting to feel the baby-making itch again and wondering how long I can stave it off, lol. Definitely doing a solid year of BFing this time, so not any time real soon. I was thinking TTC early 2013, and I still think that's probably when we'll go for it... But that seems SO far away! The #1 reason I want to wait until then is because that would put baby #3 in the late Fall or something, and that would put baby #3 an extra year behind Cal in school. I don't know why, but I like the idea of that... Maybe I'm just planning my empty nest and want to put it off a little longer, hahaha. Sad, isn't it?

I've been working most the morning. UUGGHHH! We have our yearly huge corporate event in 2 weeks. We bring every department and store manager to one location, have meetings, sessions, show them what to expect for holiday selling. It's A LOT of people - 130 stores X 10+ people a store, plus all of us from corporate plus every major trade partner we work with in the store. I have to have a presentation for my area to present to everyone. Blah it's a pain. We do it yearly and it's a huge relief to have it over with. I also know from my last pregnancy it's absolutely exhausting. I'll be 30 weeks pregnant, we get there Monday and do set up all day on our feet, Tuesday we get to the convention hall around 6am and are on our feet until about 6 pm when we head up to the massive dinner that lasts HOURS, then Wed we have sessions all morning and then lunch with store awards. I'm so not looking forward to it......or being away for 3 days. It is nice to connect with the stores though as we so rarely see everyone in person.....

    Anywhoooo

Ashley - I'm glad it's going well. My mom said it was hard when my sister came home not to look at me like I was so much older (22 mnth apart). She said looking back I was still such a baby but it was easy to forget that with a real newborn around. I told my mom to take my sister back for weeks HAHAHA Sorry about the lack of sleep

Mary - 4 of 9 is brutal! Working 3 days a week has spoiled me completely.....I'm not sure I ever want to go back to 5 LOL

Karen - Sounds busy at your house!

Poor DH has been gone all week and a bunch of stuff he needs his moronic project manager had sent to their OFFICE instead of his work site 3 hours away. Sigh. Rather than DH driving another hour out of his way to go to his office on the way home tonight I'm going to at least pick the cables up so DH will be able to drive straight home and have them here. He's so frustrated.....I can't blame him!

Katie - That's so true! Sean and Cal are 20 months apart, and Sean was always my little baby, of course... But when we brought Cal home, Sean seemed sooooo big and so grown up. I think that's when we really started looking at him less as a baby and more as a little kid.

I'm jealous of the 3 days a week of work. I sooooo wish I could do that. I'm lucky that I do very often get to take unpaid days off, so there are many weeks where I only work 4 days. We have plenty of staff, so they're always offering up the free days off. The company loves it... If I take a day off, they don't have to pay me and a floater who didn't have a shift can take my shift... Then they don't have to pay two people to work at the same time. Because the floaters are still full time and still have to have a shift, regardless of whether there's an opening. So if no one takes the day off, they would just put them as extra (but not really necessary) help at a busy store. Soooo... It's a win-win for me and the company, hahah. And it's getting me 6 days off in a row starting on Wednesday, woohoo!

In other news, Peanut vomited some more last night and this morning. He acts fine otherwise. DH thinks maybe he reintroduced his normal food too soon. He had been getting some leftover bland soft food from when he was sick and vomiting once before, but we ran out of that. I'm not sure what's going on with him...

Ughhh... Dog still has vomiting and diarrhea. I want to take him to the vet, but at the same time, I don't want to. The last time this happened was when Sean was a baby... I racked up a bill of over $1,000 and it ended up just being a stomach bug or something that needed time to go away on its own. But I'm afraid I'll just assume it's something similar and something worse will be going on...

Wow, I need a do-over for yesterday. Horrible day, for the most part. We took Peanut to an emergency vet bc ours couldn't get us in till 11am today. So they did xrays, and nothing was stuck in there, but they said they could see some MASSIVE diarrhea ahead. They said he was probably already dehydrated from all the vomiting, and would continue dehydrating when the diarrhea hit. If we brought him home, we'd have to do subQ fluids (didn't even know you could rehydrate subQ... seems like you'd have to do multiple injections to get enough fluid into them?)... So anyway, we opted to leave him there so they could do IV's and take care of the diarrhea. I had to leave straight from there. I was supposed to be at work at 2pm, but told my mgr that I'd be in by 4 when he had to leave. I left with plenty of time to be there by 4... But then my commute to work took almost TWO HOURS when I got stopped in traffic. I came up about 10-15 minutes after a fatal accident on the highway and they had the highway shut down. I eventually got past, and the accident looked horrific. This poor 62-yr-old woman's car was just flat. There was a big flat-bed truck up on its side. The stories I'm reading now said that traffic was stopped (rush hr) and she was sitting there in traffic and the flat-bed truck didn't stop and rear-ended her. Soooo scary. So anyway, I didn't get to work until probably 5:15. My poor mgr had to stay there and wait on me when he was supposed to be out at 4. I felt sooooooo bad. Ugh. I guess I'll just owe him one. I got home after work last night and Sean came to the door yelling "Peanut!" He thought I had the dog with me, and I didn't, of course... It was soooooo sad.

Got a call from the vet this morning that Peanut is doing well, but had profuse diarrhea last night and is still on IV, nothing by mouth. Her plan for the day is to stop the IV and start offering small amounts of water/food, and hopefully he can come home by the end of the day. We'll see...
