How IS he 6 months already?!?! It went really fast.
Amanda - Another wonky cycle? I'm starting to think long cycles are your new norm, haha. Who knows what a normal cycle is like for me anymore. I've had very, very few in the past 4+ years. I guess we'll find out once this little man is born... I don't want to be done baby-making, waaah! (Well part of me wants to be done, but part of me wants a nice even 4. I'm always paranoid about Calvin feeling like the "forgotten middle child".
AFM - Uuuugggggghhhh!!! The stomach bug has extended its way to Sean. Calvin seems better today, which is a plus, but Sean just started with the vomiting a few minutes ago. Miserable. Ugh. :( It's sad because I was JUST giving him a dose of zofran because he was fussing around and I could tell he was miserable. I waited too long, though, and about the second it hit his mouth, he started barfing. *Sigh* I guess it's better just to get it out anyway, but I'd rather just not have vomit. Maybe just the diarrhea end of it? Not that it's much more pleasant, but vomit is so horrid. Blech.
It is a little odd cause I've been on a 28 - 31 day cycle for 1 full year now, as I said likely just stress.
Mary - BOO to sick kids :( I have the same 3 kid fears, that Rory will feel left out or middle child syndrome and I'm not sure how 4 would make that BETTER lol except in my head. But if we had 4 I think we'd need a bigger house...well more bedrooms at least we only have 3 now which seemed fine when we bought the house but feels small now. The first floor is plenty big enough though. We just need another bedroom or two. And someday i don't want to have a mortgage payment to daycare every month, uugghh
Amanda - GL with your cycles. Mine are all normal these days 28-30 days like clockwork. It makes it easy to avoid getting preg
Mary - Oh no! Hope Sean is feeling better soon!
Katie - I have no idea how people pay for multiple children in daycare! Two friends of mine who each want a third have said they'll quit their job because three in daycare would be insane!
3 in daycare will be insane....if we have a summer 2014 baby we will have 3 in daycare for a year before Evan goes to kindergarten. I just imagine all that extra money when all three are in school someday LOL It will be like a magical raise!
All that talk of daycare expense makes me glad that DH is a SAHD. Sure, we're missing out on the income from him, but if a big chink of it would go to daycare, then I'd rather he just stay with them and I know they're with someone I trust.
I'm worried that I'm getting sick too. :( I have started getting waves of nausea. Took a phenergan in hopes of not vomiting. I went ahead and called off work. I hate to do it without actually throwing up first, but if I wait until 1am, they'll never find anyone to cover me at 8am, which would be a nightmare... So I'm taking a sick day. Ugh.
I'm not even sure how you could do 2 in daycare, here it costs $45 a day.
Still waiting on AF, I'm sure it will show soon. The timing would be amazing if we were planning on having kid, if I were pregnant now I would be due less than a month before Natalie starts Jr Kindergarten.
Right now Natalie's in pre-school which costs money, government covers most of the cost of JK - Grade 12 (fields trips etc are extra), our college/university tuition's are subsidized for residents of Canada but can still be quite pricey.
Holy crap I didn't know daycare was THAT expensive! DD's preschool works out to be about $23 a per time (she goes twice a week for 3 hours) so I guess it makes sense, just yikes! That would really add up.
Mary: sorry you're feeling a little under the weather :( Hopefully it won't hit you as bad as the kids.
Katie: I have a few family member who had four to avoid "middle child syndrome" by doing two -few years space- two more. That being said, DH is a middle child of 3 boys so he's a TRUE middle child (I think with mixed genders, you tend to get a different dynamic anyway for that child...youngest boy/girl, only boy/girl/, oldest boy/girl) and he never has felt like it was an issue and was actually the one who liked the idea of 3. So go figure.
Jen: ROFL I could never truly ignore my cycles and JLIH either. I tried so hard though ;) GL with the night feedings, those are such a pain once they get to be that old and you know they don't reeeeally need it.
Amanda: sorry about the crazy cycles! That's the one thing I always loved about being on BCPs...I knew exactly when AF would come.
More snow for us today. I really need to go to Costco (I'm out of protein shakes...I know, that's a weird reason for HAVING to go but I have one for breakfast every day) but doubt I'll leave the house unless it stops snowing. My Subaru is a champ in the snow, but I prefer to not drive in it unless I have to (partially to avoid other drivers). Baby has been giving me movement here and there for a few weeks and the last week or so I can feel it on the outside if I happen to catch it. I was using the doppler earlier this week and it kicked it right where I was listening and about blew my ears out so I know it's moving a lot even if I don't feel it. On another note, I SEVERELY need to clean my pantry. It looks like a small bomb went off in there.
OMG - I ended up getting hit pretty hard with the stomach bug last night. It was absolutely horrible. DH and I had it at about the same time. My master plan of taking a bunch of phenergan and zofran in advance was a bust. I took them both as soon as I started feeling sick, so they had a good hour to kick in, but I still ended up massively vomiting. SO miserable. I'm so wiped out today. I ended up sleeping all day and I feel like I could still go to sleep now. I wish I could take tomorrow off too, but I hate missing work because I know my spot is hard to cover (because my store is far away from the others), and especially no one will cover me on a Saturday. It's a 9-hour day too, ugh. I dread tomorrow so much. At least we sell gatorade, so I plan to hopefully sit as much as possible and drink lots of that. So miserable.
It's not that costly around here for daycare -- Rory is 180/wk Evan is 160/wk (infant room vs toddler room). I suppose one of us could stay home but we like financial freedom and I think Evan would be bored out of his mind home all day. I'd be lazy, we'd have the TV on all day....it wouldn't be good haha He has friends now and the interaction/learning is good for him. In an ideal world I'd get a year for every baby like in Canada, that would be my idea of perfection, take a year with each to be home but not so much in the US. I do look forward to having the money back in our pocket someday though....I'm sure we'll find things to spend it on LOL
Mary I hope you're feeling better! I've seen TONS of people hit with the stomach bug on FB :(
I'm getting together with a bunch of ppl I went to HS with tomorrow. We've all had kids and we're all in town so we're having a little reunion. kind of bizarre but it should be fun. One baby girl is only 2 months old I'm going to squish the heck out of her! Another baby boy ~6mo and a girl ~7 mo then 2 toddlers. Should be an adventure! One of the girls I haven't seen since HS graduation 11 years ago. She was kind of a PITA back then so we'll see how she is now!
