Virginia - So, so sorry. I hope you're resting up! And that you'll bounce back quickly. I think a NYE baby sounds lovely!

Mary - Cute pics of the boys! I am NOT looking forward to the terrible two's again!! We're ALMOST to three! Although, I've heard three is worse than two... Good luck at your u/s tomorrow! The big one is always the BEST! Can't wait to find out what you're having! Are you sure you'll be able to wait till Christmas morning?!

Lauren - Ugh, stupid cough! I really hope it goes away for you! So crazy baby could be here any minute, now! But I too will join in in the "no baby till 12/26" vibes.

Ash - Yay for a big boy seat! Haha. Owen has a booster at the table, but I'm lucky if I get him in it most days. I got into the bad habit of letting him eat breakfast or lunch in the living room back when I was HUGELY pregnant, so now he still feels the need to do it most days. I'm winning more now that Sam sits in the high chair with us at the table, so I'm hoping that will phase itself out. I'm tired of maple syrup fingerprints on my white couch!!

AFM - Tomorrow we're taking Sam to a pediatric urologist for a consult. Blah. I was really hoping to avoid surgery, and I guess it may still go that way, but now I'm afraid we may have to have something done. His last u/s (back in September) showed consistent moderate hydronephrosis (enlarged kidney) on the left side, and new moderate on the right side. Basically, urine, for some reason or other, is refluxing back up into his kidneys. From my research, it can take up to the first year of life for things to "straighten" out on their own, and most mild to moderate cases do. But I guess we'll see what the doctor says tomorrow. I have a feeling we won't get any answers tomorrow, though. Probably just a "plan" with more testing. Bah. Specialists take so long! We've had this appointment since the u/s back in September! But it's the only ped urologist in the area. I guess we'll see what she says tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Jen: good luck at the specialist. I didn't know Sam was having any issues with his kidneys, poor guy I totally understand letting your kids eat wherever they want when you're hugely preggo. I did that with my DD and my DH was getting so mad at me because he'd fine crumbs on the couch & the floor. I've since gotten extremely strict with food and they HAVE to sit at the table if they are eating anything whatsoever.

Mary: Have fun at your appointment today!! Even though you have a few days to wait for the gender, at least you get to see the baby

Jen - Good luck with the specialist. I hope it's just something he'll grow out of.

Ashley - I wish I could be that strict with food! Problem is, I'm not always at the table when I eat, so I don't really lead by example, haha. Oooh well, can't win em all.

AFM - Baby looked good today! The gender pic is sealed in an envelope. I posted this on fb, but I'll post here too. My doc came in after my u/s and said, "So you guys didn't want to know, huh?" I showed him the envelope and told him we were opening it on Christmas, and he said, "It's another boy, don't you think?" I said, "I don't know, my husband thinks it is." He said, "Well, you better just get used to it." LOL! WHAT?!?! So now I'm left to wonder if he was telling the truth, trying to lead me astray, or if he hadn't even looked and was just messing with me. Blah! Can't wait till Christmas!

The doc called me back after my appointment and I missed the call, but he left a message saying he got carried away talking to me about my BP that he forgot to do my quad screen. So I have to go back in tomorrow for a blood draw. Jeez! On the topic of BP, it was 150/100. Ugh. I'm on labetalol for it now. Just took the first dose. I'm a little nervous because my BP isn't ALWAYS high. I tested it right after I took the first dose (before it had time to kick in), and my BP was 120/70's. Ugh... Hope it doesn't go too low.

GL with the BP, Mary. I hope the meds level it out without making it drop too low. And I bet the doctor was just joking around with you.
Congrats on being (just about) 20 weeks.

AFM: Oliver will be 20 months in a few days. I kind of can't believe I'm nowhere close to having another baby yet. I guess the one maybe upside is that DH has said the more space we end up getting before #4 the more likely he is to go for #5.

And we need to take the pacifiers away from Oliver. today. He's eating them. Not chewing them, actually biting pieces off. I don't know how he does it. He bit the foot off a Sophie giraffe, too (and those things aren't cheap). I don't know what to do with the kid. The next few nights will be pretty rough as he tries to adjust to not having a pacifier, but I can't give them back because he could choke. And I have to go through the toys he has in his room and take away any he could chew to bits. Which is apparently just about all of them. He even takes nibbles out of wooden blocks!

Mary: can't wait to hear what you're having and see if the doc was messing with you! Sorry they want you on BP meds and that you have to go back for the blood draw.
Virginia: yikes, that's a big problem. Good luck with taking them away, that is always a tough one if they are super attached!!

Heading down to my dads for the weekend so the kids get to see them before Christmas. Definitely not excited about driving 4 hours both ways but the kids love it there. Dane has learned to say "More please!" and it's so dang cute. I know it's dumb but I really don't want to go out today, I feel safer from all the end of the world crazies at my house. But I have to go run a couple errands before we leave town, ugh.

Virginia - Good luck taking them away! Ugh... My annoying dog got ahold of our sophie the giraffe and broke the squeaker. Grrrr. I still dread giving baby #3 a pacifier because I swear Sean is still fixated on them!! Calvin was never too attached, so we took them away at about 15 months (I think)... We took them away because SEAN wouldn't stop stealing them and sucking on them. Recently, one fell out of our cupboard when I was trying to get something else out, and Sean grabbed it and started sucking on it. OMG. I can't handle it. I saw a kid older than Sean at the grocery store the other day and she had one and it just made me insane. She was talking to her mom with it in her mouth the whole time. She had to be 4-5 years old, which is just TOO old for pacifiers, IMO.

Ashley - I wish I could stay home today too. Okay, I really just don't want to go to work. It's potluck day, though, so at least I don't have to worry about finding something to eat on my non-existent lunch break, haha. I am taking cheesy party potatoes. Love those things, but nothing healthy about them.. Butter, sour cream, like a whole big bag of cheese, yummm, hahaha...

AFM - I can't wait to be done with work today. After that, I'm off 4 days for Christmas.. YAY!! The festivities start tomorrow with a trip to the zoo with my parents to see the Christmas lights (they have a big pond in the middle and always do a neat Christmas light show where the lights are set to music and stuff.. about half of the animals will still be on display. I want to see the polar bears). Sunday, we have to get EVERYTHING done. We need to get our house cleaned, wrap EVERYTHING, and hopefully I can squeeze in some time for holiday pictures of the boys. I don't have enough hours in the day. Christmas Eve is a family party with my family, we'll go to visit my parents, then go to the party at my aunt's house. I always look forward to it and get sooo sad when I have to miss it for work. Christmas day our parents will all come to our house and I CAN'T WAIT to open the box with baby's gender!! AHH!

I can't wait to hear what you're having, Mary! I'm betting on team pink.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of pacifiers. Ha. I never have been. I was a thumb-sucker for 6 1/2 years. Raymond had a pacifier until almost 2. Alex had one for a few months then found his thumb. He still sucks it a lot. I wanted Oliver to be a thumb-sucker, but he insisted on the pacifier. I have to say, I was a little reluctant to let him nurse this morning after seeing those pacifiers yesterday. The way hit bit the nipples of them was kind of scary.

Raymond's school did a little questionnaire with all the kids. The teacher read them a question and wrote down how the kids answered. One was "For the holidays I want to wish my family..." and Raymond answered "a sister".

Virginia - yeah I'd be afraid to nurse after seeing him bite, too! GL taking away the pacifier.

Mary - mmmmmm cheesy potatoes! The zoo sounds like a blast! GL getting everything else done.

Ash - have fun at your dads!

AFM - still have this damn cough, but every day it does seem like its a little better. Or I'm imagining it. So I managed to not go into labor during our blizzard yesterday! The roads are still really really bad all around us, so today wouldn't be great either. And I'm not worried about us getting to the hospital, we live super close, I'm worried about my in laws being able to get here to watch Xander and the dogs. We have a neighbor on call to watch him for the first few hours, but we need someone to watch him longer so DH can stay with me... So I finally relaxed, but now DH is all on me that I can't go into labor at all next week so he can maximize his time off work! He gets next week off paid and he will get a month off paid for paternity leave when I have the baby, so in his brain I need to wait til jan 2 so he can have five weeks off. Haha. Okay dear, I'll just hold the baby in.

Funny how DHs want the timing to be convenient for them, huh? I hope the weather clears for you. Feel free to send us your snow. We've been getting rain.

Virginia - OMG, Raymond's response to the Christmas question melted me! So sweet. AFM - I'm not sure one way or another, but after the u/s, I'm leaning towards girl just a tad. Mainly because it took her FOREVER to look at it to find it. With the boys, it was a quick glimpse, "yep, there's the boy parts!" and done. It took her so long and she had to look from both sides of my belly. Seems like you might have to look a little more thoroughly for girls? But I don't know. Baby may have just been in a bad position and making it difficult. It certainly increased the suspense for me... I thought she wouldn't find it at all. And this lady has done a LOT of u/s's for me over the last few years, she's pretty darn efficient.

Lauren - I'm glad you didn't go into labor during a blizzard! We got a little bit of the snow today, but not a ton.. Maybe an inch or two? The roads were kinda nasty, though. My commute sucks.

AFM - Off work for 4 days now, thank goodness!!
