December Chat Thread

LOL... Every time I start one of these, I accidentally type chat "threat" and have to fix it. Anyway, happy December! Hopefully our little board will have a baby this month (Lauren!).

Happy December! We had a lovely snowfall yesterday, decorated our (small, fake) tree, and baked gingerbread cookies. I'm trying to get all the 2ww distraction I can.

Virginia: ROFL about finding a dance studio for Raymond! Hey at least he has interests! Good luck keeping yourself occupied in the 2ww, that is always tough! And you may have inspired me to make gingerbread cookies today.

Mary: LOL you should leave it Chat Threat one of these times. I have a few words that I always mistype like that because my fingers and brain aren't working together. The word "though" being one of them, I also add a "t" to the end because it's automatic. I even did it when I just typed it. Anyway...

We have my niece for half the day, so DD is getting to skip her nap so they can play. Could be ugly later especially since our kids were up until 10 last night (we had friends over and they were playing with their kids) but she slept in until 9:45(!) today so hopefully an early bedtime will even us out. My niece is 4 so her and Brekke have a blast playing together. Otherwise just trying to finish some Christmas decorating, at least what I have motivation to do. Dane is pulling all the ornaments off the tree that he can reach so I only did part of the tree where he can't reach and tried to go for a "stripe" look so it looked less weird....

Can you tell my kids decorated the bottom? LOL. We currently have random toys and things in there too. Oh well!

Virginia - Too funny that Raymond wants ballet lessons. He's going to be a little genius with his ballet and chess hobbies! Good luck distracting yourself with the 2ww... Not much longer now!

Ashley - That's so funny... I do the exact same thing with "though" and "thought" hahaha. I have several words I do that with too. Your tree looks better than mine, hahaha. It's a pre-lit artificial, but we can't leave the lights plugged in because the kids keep trying to unplug it and plug it back in. We're afraid they're going to electrocute themselves. So no lights. There's a star on the top, some garland and a few bulbs on the top 1/3, haha. That's IT.

AFM - SIL is coming in from Northern MI to visit. She'll be here sometime tomorrow, but I won't be home from work till 11pm, so I'll just see her long enough to say "good night" haha. She's spending the first night at our house, then Tuesday she's going to come with us to take the boys for pictures with Santa. I really have some other stuff that I need to get done that day, so I don't know how it's going to work. I need to get something to wear to a wedding this weekend... Seriously NOTHING fits me right. Especially nothing dressy. Blech. Oooh well.

ETA: Mini-rant. I *hate* unsolicited advice. People on my March board who are pregnant were talking about what they need for their next baby. I commented that after EPing for two, I could probably use a new pump, but that mine might be fine if I got a new power cord. The cord fits a bit loosely now and causes the pump to restart if it gets moved and loses power for a second. I *think* a new cord could fix the problem, but my kids have tattered the bag that it goes in and it looks a bit rough and because of the power cord thing, it runs a bit rough now. So I might get a new one, I'm not sure yet. And she starts in about how I should switch to some other brand because they're hospital grade and that won't happen and blah, blah, blah. She has not EP'ed, and she certainly has not EP'ed twice, so I'm not sure how she thinks she's qualified to give me advice when I didn't ask for it, but it irritated me, lol. I already have a TON of the parts to fit the medela and I certainly don't want to replace all that stuff for one more child. Jeez. End prego hormonal rant.

In happy news, I think I've been feeling the baby move more here lately. It's still light and subtle, but yay!

Yay for movement, Mary! I was clearing stuff off my computer last night and found a couple videos of Oliver moving at 35 weeks... the ones where you can clearly see his leg outlined. So cool. I really miss it.

So... temp jump today. I've been hungrier, sleepier, and grouchier than usual the last few days. And my cervix is high, super firm, and as closed as it ever gets.
I'm surprised FF has me at 7dpo (O CD12). I had O pain CD13 and then some brief, random, pink spotting CD14, which is very rare for me at O.

Sounds like good signs Virginia! Fingers crossed!!!

AFM - Calvin just scared the CRAP out of me. DH left the room and I thought Calvin was with him. He had been BLASTING Christmas music and so it was impossible to hear much of anything. He came into the room to tell me something and he was like, "Where's Calvin??" Then we heard water running full blast upstairs. OMG, my prego butt has never bolted up those stairs so fast. I didn't know how long he was there and had visions of him drowned in the tub. OMG. Thankfully, he was just standing there beside the tub with his hands in the water. Can't take your eyes off of them for a second. Holy crap.

Lauren - Natalie was so tiny I did disposables for the first 3 months, after that she fit in the one size bum genius so I got those, used them until she was potty trained.

Virginia - Too cute that Raymond wants ballet lessons. I have two girls both interested in hockey, Dana is in her 8th season playing right now and Natalie really really wants to play, no gender stereotypes here. Good luck with getting pregnant, to me those "symptoms" sound promising.

Ashley - The tree looks good, mine is always an odd looking mess since we let our kids as well as DH's nieces and nephews decorate it.

Mary - Hope you have fun with SIL, maybe she'll shop with you for a dress, or even better watch the kids while you shop. Yay for feeling more movement. Kids can move fast, and get into trouble easily, glad Calvin was just causing trouble and not harmed in any way.

Natalie was supposed to go to the bathroom last week and then get us when she was ready to get in PJ's, she does it alone every night no problem. DH went to check how she was doing and she had poured half a bottle of nail polish remover, which was on the top shelf of our bathroom cabinet, all over herself in an attempt to clean the polish off her nails. Thankfully she only ended up with it on her legs and hands.

Happy December Everyone!

As of tomorrow DH and I will have been together 16 years, wow how the time has passed!

Another hockey weekend, filled with Dana's team SUCKING, Dana is pretty fed up with it.

We also went to my parents for dinner last night, the girls decorated the tree, it was too funny Natalie found some christmas balls with smiling snowmen on them and said she was putting the cute christmas balls on the tree.

Another cute thing Natalie did this weekend, the following conversation between her and I.

Me: Are you beautiful
Nat: Yes!
Me: Are you smart?
Nat: Yes!
Me: Are you modest?
Nat: No

Mary: holy crap that is so scary! I've had a few panic moments like that and they are the worst. Our tree is pre-lit artificial too. Dane bothers with the bulbs but not the lights oddly enough so at least the lights are on. I usually do a huge bow on the top but don't feel like dealing with it this year. Woohoo for more movement. I can't wait for that!!

Virginia: sounds promising for sure!

Amanda: sorry about Dana's team. That's too funny what Natalie said Smile

Brekke is driving me nuts playing "pretend" games because she is so bossy LOL She is like "say this" "tell my baby that" makes me nuts. Anyway. She had a preschool Christmas performance this morning (sort of strange to do it in the middle of the day IMO) and it was so cute. She didn't know all the words to the songs but she knew all the hand actions haha

I had a long discussion with the dermatologist yesterday. Tomorrow I get to take Oliver in for a skin biopsy to hopefully determine whether his weird "birthmark" in in fact a really weird birth mark or is actually an indication of a genetic disorder (not a terrible one, thankfully). I'm pretty nervous.

Virginia - Good luck. Do you know how long it will take to get the results? KUP.. I hope it's nothing big.

Ashley - How are you feeling these days? I see you're embarking on the 2nd trimester, woohoo! I've been doing a LOT better lately as far as nausea goes. I actually went a whole week with no nausea meds, but then yesterday I needed a zofran because I wasn't feeling well at all. I think I'm getting back pretty close to "normal" now though, thank goodness. Funny about Brekke bugging you with the pretend play. Sean keeps pretending he's cooking various foods for me and he'll bring me "plates" of food (toys piled on top of a frisbee) and make me pretend to eat them. He gets really persistent if I don't do it right away, hahaha.

Amanda - Sorry about Dana's team sucking. Booo! I remember being on a losing softball team as a kid. It was nice as I got bigger and had better teams, though. Smile

AFM - We took the kids for Santa pics today. We had to see Santa twice because the first time, Sean death-gripped us and WOULD NOT do it. Calvin was somewhat cooperative, so we did get one of him. After that, we went to Macy's and I tried on some regular clothes and they were just hanging all ugly on me because of the belly. I guess I have more belly than I thought. But I got sooo lucky and DH and SIL found a maternity section upstairs (while I was trying regular clothes on) that I never knew they had. I've looked there before, but I either overlooked it or maybe it's new. I found a dress that fits, woohoo! We went back to Santa after that and there still wasn't a line, so we tried again and actually got a pic of Sean with a small smile on his face. We got one of him with Calvin then too, but Calvin was pouting/crying, hahha.

Now I'm just waiting for DH to run out and grab me some dessert, hahaha. He says he'll do it before Rudolph comes on tv, which is at 8, but grr, he's taking forever. I could've just baked my own dessert by now. I have a sweet tooth.

I'll ask tomorrow how long the results will take. I hope it's not too long. We visited Santa today, too, but skipped the pics. It was a good call because none of the boys wanted to approach him... even though Raymond had been excited about it for a couple days.

Virginia: GL with the testing. Hopefully it's nothing! Getting a skin biopsy done on a 20 month old sounds pretty miserable. Sad

Mary: LOL about Santa. Can't win 'em all! I'm feeling loads better but in that "transitional" phase where it'll go away mostly for a day and then hit twice as hard the next day. I'm down to taking meds usually once a day in the morning instead of 3 times. And my energy is finally coming back! :woohoo: Sorry you aren't still 100% yet! Does your m/s usually go this late?

Well you ladies have inspired me, guess we'll try to go visit Santa today and see how that goes!

I can remember feeling pretty sick up until about 16 weeks with Sean. I've felt mostly better this time since 16 weeks, but still have sporadic nausea (having it mildly right now, actually, but not too terrible). It might be dragging on a little longer this time, but I think it's about over. I hate those times like you're having where you'll feel okay for a day then it hits twice as hard. I've had a lot of that with both Sean and this bean. But I guess it's nice to at least hit the point where you have a good day here and there. It's even worse earlier on when you just feel like crap 24/7.

AFM - My big u/s is two weeks from today! I'm trying to stay strong about the whole waiting until Christmas to reveal the gender thing, but the closer we get to the u/s, the more impatient I become. We'll see what happens, hahahah. Wink

Ashley - Sorry Brekke is really pushy in her play. The Christmas preformance sounds cute.

Virginia - Hoping for the best with the mark on Oliver's skin.

Mary - Saw the Santa picture on FB, they are cute. It was a struggle to get Nat to see Santa last year. This year she can't wait, guess I should go.

Hope you can hold out until Christmas to find out the babies gender. I think I could if my U/S was that close, but who knows?

You talking about sweets makes me want some, gonna have to bake something tonight...

Ashley - Good luck with the Santa photos. Saw that you made your pregnancy FB offical.

*AFM*

DH and I just had a quiet 16 year anniversary of being together. We are BROKE so no gifts were exchanged and didn't get to do anything special.

Natalie has a cold so shes been miserable the past few days. Great grandpa bought a Gingerbread house for the girls to build maybe tonight after I'm done work they can get that started, might put her in a better mood.

I thought for my aunts and uncles this year I would do a little dessert thing for their Christmas gift, a bottle of inexpensive dessert wine with some fudge.

We went and saw Santa Saturday. Madison was all okay with him cause he had a box of candy next to him. Funny thing though, she didn't like the peppermint stick. Oh well, Mommy got it.
Mary- That would have drove me crazy about the pump comments. Just because it has "the name."

Amanda- the gingerbread house sounds fun. Hope Natalie gets better soon.

I am exhausted, and it's only 7pm. I feel pretty crummy, too. I have every one of my normal early pregnancy symptoms, for whatever that's worth. I'm triphasic today, too. I had a BFN this morning and again this evening, but it's only 8dpo (no matter what FF thinks).

Sorry about the BFN Virginia but it really is early hopefully tomorrow will be the day!

Ashley - yay for energy! I loved loved loved the shoes pic on FB!

Mary - I can't believe you're almost at the big u/s that is just nuts to me!

Amanda - aww happy anniversary!

Molly - we haven't done santa yet....I think Evan won't go near him so it probably isn't worth it

AFM - just busy! I try to check in here and there but not much time to write. Kids are finally healthy and I am now coming down with a cold. Lovely. Both boys are at daycare today and DH and I are home to get some house stuff done. We need to do some touch up painting we've been putting off, I need to give everything a good cleaning etc It's always totally bizarre to be in the house w/o the boys. After I finish my coffee it's off to clean and organize and paint a bit.

Molly - I'm glad she did well with Santa Claus. It's funny that you mentioned the candy. When Sean was not willing to go anywhere near Santa, he asked him if he wanted some candy. And he gave Sean a coupon for free candy from one of the stores in the mall. LOL. Sean realized it wasn't real candy, and I think that just made him angry. I'm glad he did much better with Santa the second time around, hahaha. Wink

Virginia - Sorry for the BFN, but your temps look amazing! I hope it's just a day or so too early, which it totally could be if your ticker is off like you mentioned.

Katie - I'm jealous of your free time to get stuff done around the house. I *never* get that!!! We have SOOO much we need to do in order to get this house on the market by my goal date of Valentine's Day.

Amanda - Congrats on 16 years together, wow! We just celebrated 10 years together this year. Smile Sorry Natalie has been sick. My kids are just now getting over a cold too.

AFM - I was laying in bed last night thinking about how I haven't felt much movement from this baby, just a little questionable movement here and there. And I laid my hand on my belly, and the bean TOTALLY kicked it. It seems so early for that (I honestly can't remember when I felt it from the outside with the other two). I thought I had to be imagining it, but I left my hand there and within a few seconds, it happened again in the exact same spot. It was really unmistakable. Amazing!!

ETA: Two girls from my college class had babies yesterday. Holy baby fever, thank goodness I'm already pregnant, haha. I love one of the stories. In Nov-Dec 2006, a group of us from our class (and a group of medical school students from another school) went to Kenya together for a clinical rotation for a month, set up a clinic in an impoverished area, and provided medical care. We had several translators who lived in Kenya and spoke several of their languages as well as English. Anyway, one of the girls from my school met one of the translators, fell in love, went back to visit him several times (both as a preceptor for that clinical rotation and private trips with her mom to meet him and his family) and eventually moved him here and they got married. Anyway, she's one of the girls who had a baby yesterday, and I just love, love, love her story... Traveling clear across the world to find your love. And he really was SOOO nice and pleasant to be around. So romantic! Smile

How awesome Mary! How cute that bean kicked again to make sure you knew it was there.

Katie- I love taking days off and sending the kiddo to daycare anyways. It's amazing what you can get done when they're not there. I love it more when DH works because then I get more cleaning done.

Virginia sorry about the BFN let's hope it was just too early to test

Virginia - sorry about the bfn,but it is really early.

Molly - glad things went well with Santa. We will see how it goes for us this weekend.

Amanda - happy anniversary!

Katie - gl getting stuff done around the house. Sorry you've now caught the cold.

Mary - such a cute love story!

AFM - been having a lot of BH contractions today. If I stand they are practically one on top of the other. If I lie down they pretty much stop, I just get a random one every so often. Guess I did too much this morning... Glad its almost nap time! I'm hoping they completely go away then... I just don't want this to turn into the real deal... I'm 36w5d, so even if it did I'm sure everything would be fine since I'm practically term. But still, I'm not ready yet! I'd like this baby to wait til after Christmas, preferably. (: ahhhhhhh!

Good luck, Lauren! Let us know if it turns into labor. Wink

AFM: hmm... I don't know. I impulsively took another test and... I don't know. It's either the faintest BFP or the cruelest evap ever. I tried to take a picture and I can't catch it, so I'm guessing it's an evap.

Funny story. I got up at 5:30am and decided to test. Watched it for a bit. BFN. Ick. Went back to bed. Alex came in and snuggled. When DH woke I told him and we talked about things. At 7 I got up, glanced at the test and said "actually, wait a minute..." found better light "huh. Maybe we did get one." DH looked and concluded he saw something which wasn't nothing and wasn't clearly pink. I tested again and...

that one I can see. It's super light, but looks pink to me.

ETA: and yeah, my temp dropped a bit, but the heat went off last night (darn old furnace has a loose part) and it was only 59F in our house this morning. Brrr.

VIRGINIA!! That is soooo definitely a pink line. Lots of sticky vibes for you :vibes: Sending you tons of good thoughts. Yahoo

OMG Virginia - That is undeniable! And it's on a cheapy test, I'll bet it looks great on a FRER. Woohooo!! Sending lots of sticky vibes your way. :wootjump:

Lauren - You had crazy BH's with Xander too, didn't you? When did you go into labor with him? I've never had a lot of BH's (I do have them here and there later in pregnancy, but not repeatedly over any period of time).. If I did, I'd probably think labor was on the way, haha. I hope your bean holds out a little longer, but good luck with the Christmas thing... It's going to be a close one, I'm sure!!

AFM - I can't believe tomorrow is 18 weeks for me. A few days ago, I suddenly started feverishly looking for boy's names. I usually try not to think about names at all until after we know what we're having. And just today, I referred to the baby as a "he" when I usually get on DH for doing that same thing and tell him, "We don't know yet." It's so weird, I don't know where it came from. Every time I do a prescription for a male at work, I pay extra attention to the name and try to decide if I could use it, haha. It's either mother's intuition or the universe making me do all this crazy thinking for no good reason.

In other news, I've been experiencing (also over the past few days, what is wrong with me?!) a strange heightened sense of awareness when I'm asleep. The only other time I've experienced that was when my other LO's were newborns, for the first few weeks. It makes me sleep very light and so my sleep is not fulfilling.. I don't feel rested in the morning. It's like I'm in fight-or-flight mode all night long. Ugh... It made sense to me that I felt that way when the kiddos were newborns, but why now? I guess I'm just getting an early start, haha.

Mary: I'll be very curious to see if this search for boy names is intuition. Do you guys have any leftover boys names you might still use? We do for a boy but for a girl...wow we are starting from scratch. DH seems to be in zero hurry to think about names and its driving me nuts. Sorry about the crappy sleep. I sleep horribly when I'm pregnant and my kids seem to be waking up a ridiculous amount lately. I think Dane is getting teeth again because he'll just cry and cry in the middle of the night for no reason (totally not like him) and Brekke is having nightmares but that's nothing new. They aren't like they used to be and I can settle her pretty quickly but now if I get woken up, it takes me a solid hour to get back to sleep. So annoying.

Molly - Glad that your Santa visit went well.

Virginia - I see a faint line, hope that keeps getting darker over the next few days.

Katie - Hope you got lots done with the boys gone.

Mary - I never felt much early on, Natalie I felt a little bit but nothing overly obvious.

At least you are pregnant already when having baby fever.

I was convinced Nat was a boy, my instincts were SOOOO wrong.

Lauren - Not sure what you are like with BH, I started getting them around 35 weeks with Natalie, I was induced ath 37 weeks 5 days. So it's not always a sign that baby is going to come soon.

Ashley - Hope you can get the kids sleep sorted out.

*AFM*

My friends baby was born yesterday, the new dad posted a pic on instagram, little boy is adorable.

Hung out with my BFF yesterday, she told me that her and her DH are planning on TTC in the new year.

All this baby talk is giving me serious fever!

Got Natalie a dress to wear for Christmas (It has a matching dress for he doll), it's not the standard green and red, most of the ones I saw were either really expensive or UGLY so I went with one that is black with pink accents.

My baby fever is so much stronger when I have time to read here Wink You are all a bunch of bad, pregnant influences (I am of course kidding!). I won't be trying until at least April or May though so I need to keep it together!

Rory had his 1 year old blood drawn today and I was expecting a freak out. He didn't even flinch. He sat on my lap, I wrapped my arm around him to hold his free arm, they pulled a band on his other arm, poked him, filled to vials and he was done. He just watched with interest. It was crazy. Evan went nuts for his if I recall correctly. Lots of crying and trying to pull away. The phlebotomist was even amazed -- to her credit she was so fast it helped.

I took another test and it's clearly darker than this morning already.

I'm pretty darn excited and DH is over the moon. EDD looks like around August 20th. Interestingly, this LO was conceived right around my birthday, we found out right around Raymond's birthday, and assuming things go well he'll be born right around Alex's birthday.

Virginia - Yay! That line looks even better! Yahoo

Amanda - You'll have to post a pic of Natalie in her dress. Smile

Ashley - Ugh, I have no clue on names for either boy or girl. It's strange to me that I'm focusing so much on boy names. Not sure if it's just out of habit or intuition, I'll be anxious to find out, haha. It takes me forever to fall back asleep now too (hence it's 4:40am and I'm up posting, ughh... Tomorrow is going to be a long day).

Katie! You might TTC in April or May?! I thought you were saying not until like Fall?! HAH! I can't wait. Smile

AFM - UGH. I woke up at 4am obsessing over a Rx from last night for a 3-day-old baby. The dad told me the mom nearly died in childbirth and had to have massive surgery and lost a lot of blood. The baby apparently lost blood too, and the rx was for an iron supplement. There was some question on the dosing because the dr wrote it for an archaic dosage form that no longer exists, and when I called her to change it to the current form, she adjusted the dosage and the dose was right, we calculated it together... But I couldn't figure out why she dosed it SO much higher with the new dose than with the old dose.. Here she had written the rx wrong to begin with, and it took me ALL night to rationalize it. I finally figured out what the mistake was.. She had originally written the dosage form as 12mg/ml (the old form), but jeez, that wasn't even the old form. It *actually* came as 12mg/0.6ml and I KNOW that's what she was thinking of when she wrote it, because 12mg/ml never existed. It doesn't seem like it could make a huge difference, but it does when talking about dosing a 3-day-old baby fractions of a milliliter. So anyway, it kept me up ALL NIGHT LONG, because the way she originally wrote it and what the dose ended up being, it looked like she nearly doubled the dose, when in actuality, it was only the difference of 2mg per day, which is not a big deal and was basically just from rounding. OMG. So I've been up since 4am and we have a wedding 2+ hours away today. Fun times. Sad

Mary - I always lecture people when they get on the "I want to be a pharmacist that makes so much money for counting pills" rant. This is a great example. My most awful day at work still never consists of doing anything that directly impacts health, I remind myself of that when I want to freak out over things! I hope you have fun at the wedding and aren't too tired.

Yaaaa I'm thinking spring now LOL I don't want to be HUGELY pregnant for my sister's wedding in mid Sept and I do not want another Nov/Dec baby. 2 is enough in that span! So I want to wait until at least Feb due date. I'd really like a late spring/summer baby but so I might try and hold out but i will probably cave, I'm weak. I had a dream I had twin girls though and we were trying to figure out how the heck we were going to make everything work - daycare, cars, car seats it was rather stress inducing even as a dream! Then I had a dream I had to kill a guy it was really vivid and REALLY bizarre. I didn't know the guy and now I can't recall WHY I had to kill him but I did and it seemed rational in my dream but I was still really upset about it. All in all not the most restful night and of course Rory went 8-8 so I should have gotten great sleep! Figures!

Katie - talk about a stressful dream! I can't even imagine having twins, especially when you already have two at home! I'd freak. Haha

Mary - sorry about the lack of sleep, but I'm glad the dosage was okay.

Amanda - the dress and doll dress sound too cute! Can't wait to see pics.

AFM - yeah I did have a prob with bh's during my last preg, but that was early on, like 25-28 weeks. Then they stopped and I didn't really have any more. This time around I had some earlier, but not many. It's just been recently that I started getting a lot. Though today I haven't had too many...

I'll be term tomorrow! I can't believe I'm 37 weeks and it's almost time for me to have a baby! Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!

I've had a cough for two weeks now. This is getting rediculous! It just won't go away... I'm not sick otherwise, though. I definitely need to talk to my dr about it on Monday because I can't stand this anymore. And I want it gone before I have a baby. I'm not sure if my heartburn is causing it or what. It's just SO annoying!

I hate those coughs that have no purpose, they are just there. Can't believe you're so close to having your baby!

Mary- I must say I'm very curious to find out the gender of your bean. You & DH make the cutest boys though!

Virginia- There is def. no denying the BFP on either test. Congrats! Sending sticky vibes your way!!!

Katie- Are you shooting for a Dec. baby again?

Katie - It's funny, I told DH that story about work, and he was just happy that I was up worried about actual pharmaceutical stuff for once and not worried that some angry drug-seeker was going to come back and shoot me. I love my new store. No store is perfect, but my old store in the ghetto was pretty much the worst thing imaginable, haha. I can't believe I managed to do it for 3 years. The store before it was pretty ghetto too, and I spent 1.5 years there.

Boo for the crazy dream. I've been having a TON of them lately. The most recent memorable one was one where DH told me he was HIV+ :WTF: That one left me WAY stressed out, because then I was SURE I must have it too, and it left uncertainty as to whether the boys did also. So effing freaky. The twin dream was kinda fun though... Who knows, maybe it'll come true?!!?

Lauren - I hope the cough subsides. At least if it IS from the heartburn, it ought to be gone within a few weeks once you get that watermelon-sized baby out of your belly. Smile

AFM - I slept until 10 this morning. I definitely needed the extra sleep after only about 4 hours and a loooong day yesterday. I still feel tired. But I hate sleeping so late... I feel like I wasted my day away, haha. DH found a plot of land available that he wanted to look at for us to possibly build on, but now he seems to be finding imperfections with it. He does that every time, and I understand being picky after the fiasco with this house, but it's just discouraging that it's so hard to find land that is exactly what we want...

Mary: Yikes! Sorry you lost sleep over it but I don't blame you, I probably would have too. I always lose sleep obsessing over things (yours being a lot more important than most of the things I get mentally blocked on). Good luck with the land!

Katie: eek, stressful dreams! I have some pretty wild dreams but rarely remember them. DH on the other hand remember minor details of his dreams. Sorry you didn't get to enjoy Rory's 12 hour stretch...that's just how it always goes, huh?

Lauren: you definitely should talk to your doc about it. I had a cough once for 2 1/2 months and tore muscle in my rib cage from the force of coughing...let's just say one of the most miserable experiences ever. Not to mention I went to instacare for help (dumb!) and the doc there thought I had a blood clot after seeing my lab results (which ended up being due to my BCPs which she KNEW I was on) and made me go to the hospital at 11 at night for a scan of my circulatory system. Not fun. ANYWAY...coughing sucks! Hope your doc can give you something to suppress it! PS happy full term!! :woohoo:

DH took Brekke skiing today while Dane and I hung out in the lodge. It was in the teens temperature-wise, but DD still did pretty awesome despite the weather. Dane is still in a teething funk or something (it's been four or five days now) and I'm so ready for whatever is bugging him to take a hike because he is so clingy and whiny...it's like have DD be a baby again (lol).

Katie - Glad the 1 year old blood draw went well. Happy Birthday to Evan! :cake:

When we were planning for Natalie she was supposed to be a spring baby, didn't turn out that way she's smack dab in the middle of winter.

Virginia - Yay for a darker line! Keeping everything crossed for you.

Mary - After my trip to the pharmacy on Thursday, I felt really bad for some pharmacists and just thought others aren't cut out for the job.

There were 5 of them on staff at the store two were filling prescriptions the whole time the other 3 I saw working with customers, 2 of them did great, making sure people were getting the right informations.

The other gave a lady a bunch of perscriptions but spent 10 minutes letting her know that she'd need to come back in a few days for the stuff that was not in stock, the lady was understanding which is why it shouldn't have taken so long. In fact the assistant got annoyed and started packing up the drugs that were in stock so the customer could be checked out.

My perscription that I called in and said I would show up in 1 hour wasn't ready when I showed up late by 30 minutes, took them another 30 to get it ready. Though I can understand why with how busy they were, just would have been nice to know that when I was on the phone. I was polite about it since I saw how busy the place was, can't say the same for other customers around me in the store.

Sorry about my rambling on.

How did the wedding go?

Lauren - We need a pic of you at full term, really adore your belly it's so cute. Having a cough during pregnancy was never good with me, my girls loved sitting right on my kidneys.

Ashley - Can't believe Brekke is skiing already, though it's easier than skating and she's just a little bit younger than Natalie who did that.

Hope what ever is bothering Dane is over with soon, cranky kids can be no fun.

Had a mostly good weekend, not too much hockey for once.

Saturday we went to DH's works Christmas party for kids, it was alot of fun for Natalie but there wasn't much for Dana to do. They each got a gift from the company, Natalie got a colouring set which she LOVED! Dana was glad to get a gift but disappointed cause she got a purse and bracelet while the boys were getting headphones, I can understand the disappointment.

Yesterday we had DH's family over for our annual tree decorating. The actual event went well. Though my SIL caused even more trouble with wanting to celebrate Christmas on the 24th, DH's niece and nephew from his sister aren't available that day, their Dad is taking them to visit family of his long time girl friend. Anyway it's causing a lot of trouble, so I am just pissed.

I read stuff, but... the exhaustion has hit me like a sledgehammer. oof. I called the MW and, unfortunately, got a MW I adore, but not the one who told me she'd get me in right away. So, I have betas next week Monday and Wednesday. I was hoping to get them this week. My plan is to find out if the MW I wanted is in either day and, if so, call and talk to her. She said she'd get me an u/s as soon as my numbers hit 2000.

Ashley - I saw some of your pictures from skiing, too cute! Smile

Amanda - Ahh, typical day in the pharmacy, hahaha. Fun times... Not. Wink Sorry about the Dec. 24 fiasco, blaaah.

Virginia - Beautiful lines!!

AFM - Nothing too exciting. I left work at 3 today.. I get to leave at 3 once every other week because Saturday is a 9-hour day for us, so we just make another day 7 hours to average it out to 8. I came home and passed out on the couch for a while. I was just so tired all day that I had to struggle to hold my eyes open while driving home. It sucks because that happens more often than I'd like to admit. I'm truly scared I'm going to fall asleep sometimes. Yikes.

In happier news, I ordered us stockings with our names embroidered, and they arrived today. I got one with no name on it, I figured we could add the name later for baby #3. Smile

ETA: The gender scans have started to roll in to my BB, and now I'm DYING. Mine is coming up on the 19th, but we're waiting until Christmas to look at the result. Ugh. And now I don't want to wait until Christmas. LOL, I know it'll be worth it to wait and it will make a special Christmas memory, but still. Come onnnn! I'm impatient.

I swear I am going to die from a heart attack from the stress of DH's family, we were trying to arrange a date that was good to go see DH's grandma, uncle and aunt and their kids. DH's SIL got involved again and puts it on a day that isn't convenient for us. I swear I want an all expenses paid trip to some place warm right now and I don't want to be back until the whole holiday season is over.

Mary: Yikes be careful driving drowsy! When DH & I were dating, I lived about 20 minutes away and had times I couldn't remember most of my drive home...pretty scary stuff. Woohoo for the stockings! Hang in there, the Christmas moment will be so special (and so much more fun than a person saying, "Looking like a ___"). I'm stalking your BB still in limbo about what we're doing for gender and the u/s make me lean towards giving into DH Wink

Amanda: UGH! Sorry this chick is being such a PITA. That is my BIL's GF all the way. She doesn't understand that the world doesn't revolve around her and it makes me insane even though I'm a pretty accommodating person. And she's super vocal about everything so it's easier to oblige than hear about it forever.

Got a lot of errands ran while Brekke was at preschool. It's so much easier to do things only having to undo/redo one car seat instead of two. I'm sure I'll be saying that about 2 vs 3 soon. I did a really tough leg workout yesterday and carrying Dane around seriously took focus because I'm so sore! haha Also cleaned out the kids' toys yesterday and got a whole garbage bag to donate! Crazy how many toys your kids accumulate from birthdays & Christmas

Amanda - Sorry about the PITA SIL. I feel like I'm constantly having to accommodate someone, so I feel your pain.

Ashley - I'll be excited to see if you guys find out or not. I think my DH would be more inclined to do team green if we already had one of each (and already had clothes and whatnot for each).

AFM - My kiddos got their first Christmas presents today (a bit early, hahaa).. My mom sent them each a package in the mail with a wrapped DVD inside, so they got to open a present. Sean's DVD was a Scooby Doo Christmas movie and Calvin's was the Charlie Brown Christmas movie. They were excited.

In other news, my annoying dog is OBSESSED with licking my couch. I swear it's some weird OCD thing or something, like he just compulsively licks, licks, licks it. My DH just lets him do it, but I think it's disgusting, so I always stop him. I wish DH wouldn't allow it. Grrrrr.

Why do dogs lick strange things? My cats do it sometimes too and it drives me batty.

Amanda- Sorry about the SIL. We've talked years before about going away for the Holidays so we don't have to deal with the stress of planning out everyone's events. I hope it all works out.

Ashley- Can't imagine what the toys are like with two kids, cause with one it's nuts!! That's awesome that you found some to donate.

Happy 12-12-12 ladies!

Mary - omg my Bichon does that and it drives me insane! He's either licking himself or the couch or the bed. Aaahhhhh! And if you tell him to stop he gets nervous and does it even more. It's just his jittery personality. You'd better start blasting some loud tunes in the car to keep yourself awake! My aunt fell asleep driving once and she said its surprising how easy it was to do... Luckily she only ran off the road a bit and didn't get into a serious accident. There's a scooby doo Christmas movie!? Xander loooooooves scooby doo! I'll have to see if it's on Netflix or tv.

Amanda - sorry your sil is making things difficult again.

Virginia - great progression pics!

Ashley - the thought of undoing/redoing two car seats gives me anxiety! Haha I'm sure I'll adjust, though... Now three. Wowsa!

AFM - 37 week checkup went well. I asked about the cough and she said it is viral and everyone has it right now, so it's a waiting game. She said I can take regular robitussan... I honestly would rather not, but it's been almost THREE weeks now and it's gotten majorly worse in the past few days, to where my ribs ache and I'm having contractions when I cough! So I sent DH out for groceries and that. I've tried every natural remedy under the sun these past three weeks and nothing has worked. Then a few days ago DH got a stomach bug, which I caught, so I has a cough AND the stomach flu on top of being uncomfortably pregnant! But im finally over that part today, thank God! This is not my week! All I've gotta say is that baby had better stay in, because there is NO way I could get through L&D right now...

Hi ladies! I know I have been totally MIA, but that's because the site keeps logging me out and it's annoying! And I'm lazy. And I've been on the tablet a lot since DH bought it a month ago, which doesn't have pg.org bookmarked... yet. Wink Anyhow, I am alive and here and I PROMISE PROMISE PROMISE to get back into the game!

I only have a moment, and I'm totally late on this, but I wanted to jump in and say CONGRATULATIONS, VIRGINIA!! Biggrin Lots of sticky sticky vibes for you!!

To everyone else, hi! Smile I will be back later for more personals and updates!

Molly: two isn't THAT much worse than one toy wise - I think people stop giving toys nearly as much for your 2nd - but it's just the little dinky toys like from kids meals and whatnot that like to sneak into the mix that get overwhelming for me. The thing I have the most of is books, but I'm not about to complain about that!

Mary: LOL my dog licks the carpet and it seriously makes it STINK so I freak any time I see him doing it. UGH!

Lauren: you poor thing!! Sick, more sick, plus pregnant is not cool. Hope it all clears up in time for this little guy to be born and he'll benefit somehow from super immune boost or something.

Hey Jen! :wavehello:

I had my monthly OB appt today. Pretty basic. Baby's HB was 157 and my uterus seems to be as it should be. My doc then asked if I was anxious to get my big ultrasound scheduled and I laughed and said I was tempted to skip it so DH wouldn't be so adamant about finding out the gender and he gave me a strange look like I was nuts. Crazy LOL! He's been an OB since the days where you couldn't really tell the gender until baby was born, so he probably thinks if we can know, why wouldn't we? Anyway, turns out their u/s tech is taking time off around the holidays and then is slammed after so I can't get in until Jan 17th anyway (5 weeks from now) which is fine by me, but I think the girl helping me schedule was prepared for me to protest for an earlier date. Gives me time to come to some sort of agreement with DH or at least one more week of suspense before he blows my surprise Wink

Lauren - get better! I had a cough like that when Oliver was born (I broke my water coughing) and it sucked majorly. especially the bruised ribs. :bighug: Sending you tons of healthy vibes.

AFM: I don't know why, but I woke with a sinking feeling that this pregnancy isn't going to go well. Maybe it's just nerves from last time? I wish I could get the bloodwork and the u/s now. Not that they'd be able to see anything.
Oh, and Oliver's biopsy came back fine. whew. No genetic disorder.

Virginia - I'm happy to hear the test came back normal. That sinking feeling... You'll feel it every time you get pregnant now. I even still got it today at 18.5 weeks. I feel the baby move regularly now... And I still get that feeling. *Sigh*

Lauren - I hope the pesky cough goes away before the baby comes!

Crap. I read everyone else's posts and now I can't remember it all. Not feeling well lately. I've had some sort of stomach bug for 4 days now. Sad

Thanks, Mary. I'm more than mildly freaking out this morning. I could use some input on my DYSAL post: http://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/do-you-see-line-715/i-need-some-wisdom-702574/#post9031065

Virginia - I agree with the last poster on your DYSAL thread - they tell you yes or no, not HOW pregnant you are. Trust me, I know how freaking difficult that is to hear when you expect to see a practically black line! I say, take a break from the HPT's! When is your bloodwork and u/s? I'm sure it's super worrisome after a loss, but hang tight! Lots of sticky vibes!

Lauren - I hope your cough goes away! Did the Robitussin help at all? I know what you mean about trying everything for weeks on end, only to end up having to take crap anyhow. I was sick for about 3 weeks when I was around 26 weeks pregnant with Sam, and refused to take any meds for it. I finally had to call the doc I was so miserable, and I got put on antibiotics! So yeah, a lot of good it did me avoid meds. Wink I hope it clears up for you soon before baby arrives! Can't believe he will be here SOON!!!!

Mary - For real girl, how are you already almost halfway there?! Geez! It always goes slow when it's your own, but so fast when it's someone else, right?! Sorry about the stomach bug. How are you feeling today?

Ash - Are you team green? I think you and DH are having a bit of a clash over that, right? Haha. Two of my friends were the same way! Both of their DH's found out the gender, but kept them secret! Well, one of them did. The other one told MY DH, so I knew she was having a girl all along. Wink I'm excited for you! Do you have a feeling one way or another?

Molly - Hi! Biggrin

Amanda - Sorry for all the insane crap! I think I would have exploded by now! Lol

I think that's everyone, right?!

AFM - Busy, busy! But definitely settling into life! Sam is doing awesome! He is seriously so funny! He talks NONSTOP! It's funny, considering Owen was such a shy, quiet baby. Sam is super outgoing and loves everyone and talks all the time. And he's soooo laid back. It's just so funny to see the differences! I can't believe he's going to be six months old the day after Christmas! It's so crazy. He's sitting up pretty well on his own now, and I feel like he's *thinking* about crawling! He gets up pretty high on his hands, and spins around and rolls a lot, but hasn't tried to get up on his knees yet. But I feel like it's coming! I can't imagine having TWO mobile children. Aaaaaaah. How do you all do it?! Wink

Owen is doing awesome, too! He's talking up a storm now (been in speech therapy for articulation for about 3 months now), and it's insane. I also can't believe I'm starting to plan his THIRD birthday! I actually just ordered his invitations last night! We're doing a superhero theme since his latest kick has been Batman and Spiderman. Wink I like to get a jumpstart with his birthday planning since the holidays usually interrupt things and then I'm scrambling to get things out in January! So yeah, can't believe I'm doing that.

Other than that, not a whole lot! Photography business is going well. Slowly getting back into the swing of things! I'm doing another wedding in July, so that is going to be craziness. But other than that, same old same old! Smile

ETA: Just a few pics. Wink
