If you don't find something better go with the small one and maybe Rory can wait until they have an opening? Or if you need one now, maybe you can get on a wait list for the small one? We have a small preschool we absolutely love.

We will need a place in Feb so we could get Evan in now and wait until Feb - unfortunately they said it could be until spring before space opens in the 2s room, they don't have many kids in that room and it's typically full from their babies. We are looking at another smaller place tomorrow that only has room for Rory....we could split them if we really like that place too. We are also looking at a Montessori school tomorrow that is actually 18mo-8th grade. It is far and away the most expensive and is in a PITA location but we'll have to see how we feel about it. We had limited options in NY where we lived, having more options is great but finding space for both boys, together, is very hard!

Katie - The care providers are top notch at Montessori from my experience, the problem with them is the administrative staff can be really bad, the one Natalie went to was awful after letting go the good ones, for business reasons not any harm to the children.

Got a lot of Christmas stuff done, it's a relief cause most of the time we are doing a lot last minute stuff.

Here is a pic (colour is off a bit) of our air hockey table covered in presents, for both families, only stuff left to wrap is for our kids.

The cat is our family present since he cost us a fortune in surgery

I am feeling so sad tonight. A friend's father had a heart attack this morning and passed. He was just such a kind funny wonderful man. Though I haven't been super close in the last year or so I spent many days and nights with her family and I can't believe he is gone. So unfair. A reminder to enjoy life I suppose.

We are ready for Christmas and still debating childcare lol an I'm itching to get preg hahaha not happening right now but I want to! Anyone else here potentially ttc in spring/summer?

hmm... there's a remote possibility of TTC summer/fall. I can't believe I'm even thinking that given that we've just done the holidays with 4 sick kids (nasty cold and cough and a little vomiting).

Christmas was, well, okay. I sat up all night with Arthur on the 23-24th because his cough was so bad (and got to bond with my little brother over hours of Mythbusters ) I had Arthur at the ped today and I was right that he just has a nasty cold to get over. He's 24.5" and 16lbs 4.5oz! My big boy.

I was back at the doc with Arthur (and Oliver) yesterday. Thank goodness they have weekend hours. Oliver has a double ear infection (his first) but seems to be beating it on his own. His fever broke between making the doctor's appointment and when they examined him. Arthur has bronchitis/bronchiolitis. Poor boy. We have a saline nebulizer. I've been using it a lot, so hopefully he'll improve quickly. He's handling it pretty well so far (given his age). Thank goodness he's so big.

Interestingly, Oliver is still only 31lbs, just like 8 months ago. Sometime next fall/winter, Arthur is going to pass him in weight.

Sorry for all the sick kiddos! We've got them here, too. Benjamin is currently on antibiotics because he had a bunch of gunk in his lungs. Poor little guy... Listening to a baby cough is one of the worst sounds ever!

It's been pretty slow here this month! I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. It was pretty good here. Now New Years, then super diet time! lol

I hope he gets better quickly! How scary. I'm really hoping the nebulizer is enough for Arthur. I feel like I caught it really early.

ETA: We're going to have to move to 6-9 month clothes soon (at 2 months!) The sleepers are getting too short already.

Boo to sick kiddos! I hope they are all on the mend. Having neither kid in daycare has meant no real illnesses around here, it's weird. Usually early winter is the start of our rotating sick season due to daycare. It's only temporary but I'm enjoying it. THat being said tons of people at work have been out sick so I'm hoping I don't catch it there!

Happy New Year all! I'm not much for resolutions. Last year I set a goal to read 75 books (ended up reading 90) and adding in some classics. I managed to do that. Read some Flannery O'Connor, Hemingway, Sylvia Plath, Willa Cather (seriously how had I not already read My Antonia? Amazing), and Flaubert. Since any resolutions around losing weight or exercising will likely end in failure I've decided this year I'll read more American classics - Steinbeck, Roth, Irving. I'll try to branch out from the minimum I read in HS. I'm a crazy resolution maker. I'm hoping maybe to get preg in 2014....I'd love to have a baby in 2014 but I'm thinking I won't be preg by March (and really a third December baby would be crazy). Today is the perfect day of my cycle and I'm so tempted to tempt fate but DH and I both know it's not easy timing at all. Soooo I'll probably behave. Hard as that might be.

I hope you all have a nice NYE. I'm enjoying some wine and relaxing
