Virginia - YAY BEAN! WOOHOO!
Mary - Glad the arm and your apt were good yay for extra u/s!
Amanda - if you find a free trip south let me know I'm coming too!
Jen - 3 already? crazy! I'm a weak party planner so I'm no help
Ashley - glad the table came out well even if DH ruined the surprise!
The interview seemed ok....she really only asked me 3 questions all situational. I tried to be specific with my answers and stay on target. I have no idea if it was enough to impress. We'll see....coordinating a cross country trip to interview in person (the next step is an all day in person deal) would be a PITA so I hope if they offer it's b/c they are serious and if they aren't then I hope they just say thanks but no thanks now
Ugh - I just want to say that I hate food allergies. My IL's sent the kids a VDay card, each with a Hershey's chocolate candy bar inside. I saw it when I opened the card for Calvin and pulled it out and said "Sean probably can't eat this." My husband started getting all defensive, like why not, and I told him I know they at least make almond chocolates and probably use other nuts, and they probably make it all on the same equipment, and I'm not risking it. He looked at the label and there was a warning about "shared equipment" with almonds. He's acting like I'm an idiot because 1) It's shared equipment, it's not an actual ingredient, and 2) It's almond and his allergy is peanuts.
But our allergist has always told us we need to do complete exclusion of all nuts and tree nuts, and I'm not willing to risk it, ya know? He has generally been pretty good about not wanting to give them anything that is labeled with their allergens. But this time, he said, "I'm sure he could eat it..." I'm just so frustrated. He always acts as though I'm overprotective, and maybe I am... But I have had classes on what happens to the body on a chemical level during anaphylaxis, and I am NOT risking it. It's scary, dangerous stuff, and if I can prevent it by eliminating a candy, I will. He has other candy in the house that he enjoys and that is safe for him. Grrrr... I just wish someone out there had a shred of understanding or advocacy.
Mary I think you're smart. I'm really sorry though :( that HAS to be hard.
I have another phone interview Monday. I'm rather excited.....I think this interviewing stuff is making me competitive LOL we'll see how it goes!
I'm feeling really nervous about my beta today. I took another FRER this morning and I'm pretty sure it's a little lighter. I'm really hoping it's just that the tests vary, but I'm having trouble believing it.
Mary: ick, I had the GD test. It actually wasn't bad for me last time, but the first time I almost passed out.
Virginia: I saw that bag - thanks. WOOHOO for great #s :yahoo: PS: stop testing girl, you are causing yourself way too much stress!
Jen: cookies were too good and I've given away as many as possible so I don't eat them :) Cupcakes sound delish - don't worry my kids have had WAY too much sugar this week. Oh well. Retro superhero theme sounds really cute!
Amanda: that's nice that you PMed her at least. I probably wouldn't have but I hate when people air personal info like that on FB looking for sympathy or whatever. But I guess if you were good friends it might be different.
Katie: LOL good luck with the next interview!
DD has her last swimming lesson today until I sign her up again. It was definitely money well spent & I'll probably have her repeat towards the end of next month. It'll be nice to not have to drag DS to them for a while anyway, he gets really bored and wants to throw stuff into the pool
2804! It doubled! Now I really know not to trust the darkness of tests. I have to post the comparison (with betas) over on DYSAL because it's a great illustration of what everyone has told me but I've never really believed.
Virginia - Yay!!! So glad to hear that it doubled, and it's nice that we finally have some hard evidence that those tests are NOT quantitative. I agree, it's hard to believe that sometimes.
Katie - Good luck on the next interview! How many has it been now?!
Ashley - I'd love to do swimming classes with the kids. It's SO hard to do anything like that with my schedule because I never have the same night off two weeks in a row. Literally, never. Grrrr.
AFM - Sean was chasing a ball and ran face-first into the wooden arm of a chair earlier and busted his eye up pretty badly. Ugh. I was at work, but DH was texting me about it, and I felt like it wasn't really a huge deal from the texts. But when I got home, he just made me nervous. He had been napping probably at least 3 hours, if not 4 (and keep in mind he almost never naps anymore). Then when he was awake, he was just laying there. He didn't even want to sit up which is very unlike him, just kept crying a lot, complaining of pain. This was all at least 5-6 hours after it had happened, so I would've thought he would have been feeling marginally better by then. So DH and I got nervous and took him to the urgent care. The doctor looked at his eye, then used some sort of fluorescent eye drops that glow under a black light to check if he scratched the eye at all, but he did not. He said he thought it was okay. I asked if there was any concern about concussion... I was really more concerned with that than the actual eye, as what I could see of the eye looked pretty normal. He was like, "Oh yeah, I didn't even go over that with you..." I'm like, yeah duh.. So we went through all of that, he said possibly a mild concussion, and just to watch it to make sure nothing gets worse... So the doc didn't seem too horribly worried. I was just freaked out by him being so lethargic, I think. Blah. These kids are going to kill me.
Virginia - YAYYYY now definitely no more tests!
Mary - Jeesh your boys need some bubble wrap! I'm looking forward to SUMMER I feel like there's better ways to safely burn energy out in the yard!
Ashley - I should do lessons or something but after a week of daycare and running around I lacck the motivation
I've had 2 interviews so far with this company. The first was more talking to HR then an interview with someone currently in the role on the team, Monday I have another interview with a team member. If that goes well I'd be flown out to do an all day shin-dig with 4 or 5 people. I also had 1 interview with another company, no word on that. YAY weekend! Ah, finally! it's been a long week!
I hear ya on being ready for Summer, Katie. While it comes with its own fun set of challenges and safety concerns, it's much easier to entertain them outside. And I miss the warm sun and fresh air.
And YES, woohoo for the weekend! I was an ungodly long week, especially since I ended up stuck working an 8-day stretch. I haven't done a long stretch in a few months since we fixed our schedule to avoid that, so it was quite difficult physically and mentally. Of course, being home isn't much easier mentally right now. Sean is still in a LOT of pain, his eye is nearly swollen shut. It's horrible to look at. He's on a schedule of alternating ibu and tylenol every 3 hours. He still won't eat anything. He has no appetite. It sucks and is stressful.
Mary I saw Sean's eye on Facebook poor baby! I hope he is starting to feel better today!
