DH & I went to a dinner last night to recognize outstanding employees at DH's work, it was a wonderful event, the food was excellent and the company good. My parents took the girls so we had a night to ourselves.

Today I am working, a bit tired but I should be able to make it through the day.

Was having a good day and was getting productive, then DH messaged me saying that his mom wanted us to come to her place for dinner. If you ladies have read any of my past posts about his mother you would know I don't like the woman. She is a "user" and asks DH to do things for her but never helps him out (in the 15 years we've been together shes done us 1 favor). Anyway an invite to dinner often turns out to be her asking for help with something. Plans are still up in the air so who knows what's going on.

    Amanda - GL with MIL.

Katie - yeah, I'd say it sounds like time to start preventing. Good luck, I was so frustrated by my cyclical spotting after Alex.

Mary - You want to JLIH? I think you and I are in the same boat with that... there's very little difference between JLIH and TTC! Sometimes I wish I didn't know how to read my fertile signs.

AFM: not sure what we'll do. I'd be fine waiting another 18m to TTC. I know I could be talked into it earlier. I'm sure we'll go back and forth over it for a while... and then it'll probably happen by accident anyway, huh?

Amanda, sorry you have to deal with your MIL tonight.

Katie, yeah time to start preventing! I felt very anti-pregnancy after being pregnant, too, but here I am now looking forward to it! hahaha. Time does wonders.

Mary, glad Cal is in good spirits even though he has a fever.

AFM, well the spotting turned into AF. A very early AF. Or not. Remember last cycle I spotted for 11 days before AF started, so maybe a few of my days of "spotting" were actually AF, just very light - kwim? So that'd mean my cycle wasn't stupid short. It was kind of a huge gush of blood and now nothing, but I'm cramping a lot and know more is on the way. I went to the dollar store to buy some more preg tests so I could waste one just to make sure, but they didn't have any. They had OPK's, but no preg tests. WTF? Not even a spot for them! I don't want to buy a full price one or blow the full price one I have in my cabinet because I'm bleeding, so clearly I'm not preggo. But I'm having a well deserved glass of wine right now and I guess I wanted to make sure. heh. Amazingly, I'm not upset. I thought I'd be, but I'm not. I know I was lucky to get pregnant with Xander on the first try last time, so I wasn't expecting to this time. I hoped I would, but I didn't expect to. I think that mindset helped. Anyhoo, onto the next cycle! I will temp this time around, just to make sure that I O. If this next cycle doesn't work out then I will order some OPK's and go into crazy-TTC'er mode. hee hee.

In other news, Xander had a hearing test today that his speech therapist requested. Turns out the kid has fluid in his right ear! There's a good chance that's what is causing his speech delay. He isn't in pain and it isn't infected, it's just muffling his hearing. Poor guy! Hopefully it'll be an easy fix and we can get his talking correctly. We have an appt with our dr next week.

Booo, sorry AF showed, Lauren. I hope you have better luck next month!

AFM - I wish I could put my babies in a bubble... So tired of illness in this house!! I'm worried Sean will get it and spike a crazy fever like Calvin did. I hope everyone is healthy by the time my vacation rolls around. I want to enjoy my time off work with them!

Mary - I feel you on the bubble! We've had one cold after another all winter. I'm grateful we haven't had fevers but I just think we're all healthy and BAM someone has a runny nose again. Rory has a little cough and it sounds a little wet and I've gone back and forth but he doesn't cough a lot and I think the wet sound is mostly post nasal in his throat not all in his chest. Poor baby, it was SO much easier to keep Evan healthy, having a brother who goes to daycare is a pain!

    Lauren - sorry about AF!

Virginia - GL deciding ... I'll be curious!

Amanda - hope you avoided MIL!

Have you noticed your kid(s) getting sick a lot more this year? I'm sure part of it is because Xander goes to playgroup and tumbling more frequently than he did last year, but at the same time it just seems like everyones kids are sick more often this year! And this last cold just will not go away! He feels/acts fine, but keeps coughing and having a bit of a runny nose. Same with DH. I got it for one day. haha. I still think that's funny. It goes to show what eating healthy, exercising, and taking your vitamins can do! I like to rub that in my DH's face sometimes. hee hee.

Crud, looks like I'll have to run to Walmart today. I didn't replenish my pads and tampons since I wasn't sure if I'd need more or not. Now I don't have many... I temped this morning and hope I can make it a routine in the next few days. Fertility Friend has an iPad app that DH let me put on the iPad, so maybe I'll start leaving that by the bed to make it easier. It's his work iPad, so I'm surprised he let me. haha.

YES!! My kids are way sicker this year and I can't blame school/daycare. Sean never hot sick for his first two years, then got sick shortly after his birthday and has been sick ever since, it seems... Just off and on with new illnesses. And now I've got Cal too, so they just pass stuff back and forth to each other.

AFM - I haven't pumped in something like a month now, and I just leaked. WTF. hahahaha... so strange. It's like they just do NOT want to dry up this time around.

I hope everyone's kids get better soon.

Mary - GL drying up. I hate to think what will happen when I finally try.

AFM: we have crocuses! They just opened this morning. Wow. It's so early. And DH is trying to teach Raymond to play chess. At Raymond's request. We'll see how that goes.
