Mary - That is so funny you mention the script thing because I filled Sam's reflux meds yesterday and it was a nightmare! Not me, but the lady in front of me had card issues and was picking up for someone else or something. Either way, I was super annoyed because I stood there for 390 hours while they helped her which fine, whatever. But what annoyed me was the pharmacists looked at the line 100 times, but then when the lady in front of me was asked to wait while they called, she turned around to shoot the sh*t with someone else! Then several minutes later she asked if I was waiting! And then she was all, oh sorry. I was annoyed because we made eye contact multiple times while I was waiting... She knew I was waiting! Argh! Haha OK, rant over. I respect how hard your job is! I was just annoyed. But I was still nice to her. ;-)
Wow I'm behind...
Jen: I'm the same way - can't really sleep with a baby in bed with me. Sometimes half sleep is better than zero, but I definitely prefer NO kids in bed with me. I'm all about whatever works for everyone though. TTC next fall/winter is exciting! I had no baby fever until Dane was almost one either then it hit me like a ton of bricks.
Amanda: Glad AF finally showed. That's so annoying when she messes with your mind like that! Brekke has only colored on my walls once, or really the wooden staircase, but it was with a pencil so no biggie. She is pretty obedient with stuff like that. Dane, I have feeling, will not be.
Mary: cute sledding pics! Sorry about the first of the year issues at work. I worked at a gym in high school and oh my gosh, January was like "well I'm going to get paid to sit in he!! for the next 6 hours, wish me luck!" Everyone wants an instant answer on cost, they want tours, there are upset members because the new people aren't doing things "right" (like cleaning equipment after, using stuff too long according to them, etc) and the phone rings off the hook. Ugh, just thinking about it gives me chills. Glad at least your new store is slower.
Virginia: yes we did decide to find out. Our u/s appt is on the 17th, so only 2 weeks from today. Actually should have been a week from today but the u/s tech was overbooked so I told them I did mind waiting a bit longer. GL this cycle! I just found out my close friend had a m/c in November (they've been TTC since April). This is her 2nd m/c, first was before getting pg with her DS a few years ago and she feels very similarly that it's hard to get excited even with a BFP at this point. :( Lots of BFP & sticky vibes your way! :vibes:
So we ended up staying at the party until 11:45 and the kids were beyond beat not getting in bed until just after midnight (luckily the party was only a few miles from our house). It wasn't that exciting or anything, but DH was really into a game of beer pong with his friends that went on FOREVER! Oh well, the kids were really tired still the next day so they didn't go skiing at all. I shamelessly hung out in my sweats all day so it wasn't a total bust. Dane seems to be working on the few teeth he hasn't gotten yet and has a vicious runny nose and cough and therefore he does sleep & I don't sleep. Hurry up and pop out teeth!
Virginia - Hope this CH land you a good sticky bean. :goodluck: Natalie started PTing at 7 months, it's never too soon to start if you aren't putting a lot of pressure on them, hope it works out well with Oliver.
Jen - Hope you enjoyed your shrimp bisque, I'm the only one in my house that enjoys shrimp so I only have it on a special occasion.
I feel you on the house full of toys, thankfully this Christmas Natalie didn't get too much, the focus was on getting her toys for her Leap Pad 2, which she LOVES! Funny about Owen thinking grandma is great, Natalie is the same way with her Great Grandpa, talks about him non-stop but doesn't mention her Great Grandma.
Mary - The pictures of the boys are adorable. Yeah I'm done with winter too, DH and I said "OK Christmas is over the snow/cold can go away".
Hope your day wasn't too insane, insurance changes can be a pain.
Our New Year's day dinner was at my aunt's house she makes a ham with veggies and potatoes, all very yummy! My great aunt and I always bring dessert, so we had lots of treats too.
Today everyone in my house slept in it was nice. Was a pretty easy day just got Sadie (fluffy dog) washed and brushed, a couple of loads of laundry done and my jackets button sewn on (again).
Gotta work tomorrow, most of the high stress stuff is done so the day should be pretty easy.
Jen - LOL, I could see being rude to her if she's just standing around BSing. What?!
Amanda - Woohoo for an easy day. I hope I can say the same, although it's doubtful. At least it's Friday and this is my weekend off.
AFM - Yesterday was more of a nightmare that I could have imagined at work. There was the usual beginning-of-the-year stuff that I had complained about in my last post, but on top of that, our computers went down for like 2-3 HOURS right at evening rush hour time. OMG, I barely was able to recover from it by 10pm. I definitely felt more pregnant by the end of it. My pelvis felt like someone had punched me like right in the crotch, lol. My lower back hurt, my feet hurt. I definitely feel older each time I'm pregnant, booo!
ETA - Holy moly, the terrible 2's have struck this house again. Calvin... OMG. He tore multiple keys off of DH's laptop a bit ago, got in trouble and had to sit in time-out, and has been SCREAMING inconsolably ever since. Like GIANT screaming, tears, throwing his body around in a tantrum. Wow...
Mary: sorry about the rough day at work. And yikes to Calvin's latest...Dane is already a mischievous little goober so I can only imagine what his 2nd and 3rd year will be like when he can think of more creative ways of making me nuts. Brekke never went through terrible twos really and has only become overly emotional about everything at 3 (which can be torturous in itself).
Amanda: jealous you guys got to sleep in! We had way too many treats over NYE and Xmas my weight shows it!
Dane is sick as a dog. I thought it was just teeth but now thinking he has a cold. UGH. No sleep for us.
Ash - Ugh, I hope Dane is feeling better soon! I swear since Thanksgiving, my kids have gotten like 3 colds. I feel like we haven't had a break! They both had runny noses and coughs over Christmas, which finally cleared up last weekend. Then wouldn't you know it, Owen woke up about 2am Wednesday night with a 102 degree fever! The fever keeps coming back every evening, but only hits about 101 now, so I'm hoping he's getting over it soon. He has a nasty cough, too. I can thank my SIL's hacking children for this one.
Mary - Sorry work sucked! And sorry Calvin is already getting into the terrible two's! I am so over the two's. Haha. Only 6 weeks left of them! But three is worse, right?!
Amanda - The shrimp bisque was DIVINE. Like seriously, I'd probably drink it in a cup if I could, haha. Too bad you're the only shrimp-lover in the house! I have this AMAZING honey lime shrimp recipe that I make pretty regularly. It's a huge fave around here! It's sooo simple, too. We've had it over rice AND as tacos, and it's always awesome. Jealous you got to sleep in!
AFM - My parents left this afternoon! I feel like they just got here! It always goes that way, though, right? Either way, the boys were spoiled rotten! And so were DH and I! Owen got this giant Step2 easel that he loves (and takes up so much space, haha), and this AWESOME bendable racetrack. It is seriously really cool! And it literally kept Owen occupied for about 2 hours Thursday afternoon! Granted, he was sick, but still! That kid NEVER sits still! And he's still all, "Play cars with me, mommy!" over and over and over. Haha.
DH got me a ticket for the PA millionaire raffle they do twice a year, which was drawn tonight. Sadly, I am not a millionaire - again! ;)
Ashley - your kids are rock stars! By 9 mine are enough to make everyone want to kill them LOL
Mary - hope the new year gets easier LOL
Jen - YAY you can TTC near me, we'll have #3 together ;)
Amanda - I need to get a new foster dog groomed....I'm too lazy to do it myself LOL
AFM - it's weekend YAYYYY Ugh I need to remember I do not want a baby before Rory is 2 b/c I have no will power LOL I want to TTC NOWWW luckily DH is not in to it just yet so he is my will power! I'm ready to add baby #3....oh boy
Ashley - I hope Dane feels better.. Nothing worse than sick kiddos.
Jen - I don't know for sure if 3 is better or worse.. In some ways, it's better. He's got an awesome imagination now, so he will spend more time pretend playing and entertaining himself, as opposed to me having to entertain him all the time. However, he's got a little mouth on him, so the back-talk thing is NOT fun now. For the most part, I'd say it's easier as he actually is starting to understand consequences and will respond to losing privileges/toys, etc.
Katie - Just do it, you know you want to! LOL.. ;)
AFM - Went on a cooking frenzy today.. We'll have food made for most of the week, which is great. I made a large pot of chili and a big baked pasta dish that is just for me and DH, because it's filled with cheese and sour cream, so Sean can't have it. It's yummy, but oh-so-bad I'm sure. :)
Mary - We are earlier in 3 than you are but I do agree with everything you said! Our biggest challenge is probably when he's tired. He really won't nap anymore but by the evening he gets tired and is difficult to manage. I expect that will ease with time. the imagination is so great though today he was pretending to be a dog and then he made DH and Rory get in a box that was a rocket ship and counted backwards from 10 to blast off to the moon.
I woke up with a SPLITTING headache today. I napped with Roars and it only made it worse so I popped 3 advil and I'm finally feeling more human. I really hope I'm not getting sick. I know three people at work who were hospitalized for various flu/virus etc crazy. So hopefully I just need some rest.
Katie - I've had a nasty headache the last couple days too. Mine is because of this stupid cold sore I have, though. I have cold sores constantly this time of year. I keep them really moist with chap-stick ALL the time, so I know it's not them getting too dry. I spend more time being sick this time of year, and I ALWAYS get one after I'm sick, so that's probably it. Anyway, whenever I get a cold sore, it comes with a horrible headache every time. GRR! I really wish I could take some ibu for it. Ibu really helps it better than tylenol, but the tylenol did help. It seems to have gone away today.
As for the age 3 thing. It's an interesting time here. Neither of my kids are good at sharing, so we've got a 3-yr-old and one who is just venturing into the terrible 2's, and they WILL NOT share... So there's a lot of crying and fighting over toys. They'll even compete for my attention sometimes. I think they will be very competitive with each other... But I hope they find some common ground as well, and eventually play well together.
