Happy July 1!

Happy Baby month, Ash!!

Katie - glad Evan had fun at your friends house, sounds like a good time.

Amanda - try avocado and coconut oil (not together). Both have really good fats. One of the little boys I worked with was VERY underweight and his mom incorporated those into his diet daily (smoothies for a while) and he finally started gaining. He was allergic to dairy so she didn't include that, but since Natalie isn't it could also help. Happy Canada Day!

Virginia - how far from NYC are you? It's not really common for women to have children young here either unless they are religious. Glad you found some friends to hang out with. I don't have too many mom friends but just finding a few was so nice. I wanted to get a water sling for the shower but it turns out Lily really hates the shower so I'm glad I didn't. We don't have a pool so it wouldn't get any use.

Mary - Glad Sean had a good birthday! I want to do something low key like that for Lily's birthday.

Laura - sending lots of good thoughts to your mom. *hugs* to you too!

I'm forgetting a lot and I'm sorry - I'm expecting Lily to wake up from a nap any second, but she seems to be defying expectations. I kind of feel trapped waiting though - since her naps are usually short I didn't do anything I needed to (like shower) because I figured I would get interrupted, but she has been sleeping much longer than normal. I'm tempted to just take a quick shower.

No real plans for the weekend, but DH will have finished his projects so maybe we will do something local.

Thanks!! Yahoo I know what you mean about being trapped by naps. Brekke was always a really short napper until she got much older (like over 1) and I felt like after the first little bit, I was stuck sort of in limbo waiting for her to wake up.

I read the other thread but can't remember anything now. Oh well. Having a lot of contractions today, but they aren't very consistent so I think they are probably just BH. It is supposed to be less hot today so I think I'm going to take Brekke to the park in a little while after I go "swing by" Baby Steals (it is like 30 mins from me) and pick up something I ordered last week.

Laura, I hope things go well with your mom!

Ash, HAPPY baby month! Have fun at the park with Brekke.

Virginia, I'm glad you found a fun mom group. I have the same issue with the playgroup we go to - it's run by one of the churches here and 95% of the people in it belong to the church, so they all know each other and I have a hard time breaking into the conversation. But that's also because I have a hard time breaking into groups, I just never know what to say. I wish I were more social!

Mary, sounds like Sean had a great b-day!

Erica, hope you got in a good shower. I'm glad Xander is a good napper - BUT you have to stay quiet. If I evne do dishes and clink one dish against something he will wake up. It is so frustrating because that would be 2+ hours to do chores without him hanging all over me, but I can't do anything more than laundry. lol.

AFM, the house is clean, the dishes are done, I'm nearly caught up with laundry.. What the heck is going on here? hahaha. I'm never on top of things like that. I think I've been motivated since we're going camping this weekend (given the weather doesn't change) and I don't want to come home to a messy house.

Oh geez, DH just gave Xander a Flamin' Hot Cheeto. WTH was he thinking?! I just gave him some avocado out of my salad and that seems to have helped. heh.

Ashley - YAY baby month!! WOOT! Hope the cntx turn in to something Wink

Erica - I always showered during naps.....I figured if he woke up at least he was safely confined lol Now he generally wakes up and plays anyway so it's no big deal.

Lauren - I never know what to say either in new groups. I felt that way a lot yesterday. Nice women but they are all fairly well off -- long story short my friend married in to a family that owns a successful chain of car dealerships so this group of people were mostly her family and close family friends who are all tied to the dealerships or their boatclub etc Not that we have financial issues in the least but we're not part of the Lake George Boat Club either LOL I tend to have most in common with my dogs friends except they all lack kids. Bah!

Speaking of crazy another friend from HS married a very wealthy woman. Like way beyond the friend above. I'm talking pre-nup $5 million dollar trust fund just for her wealthy in addition to the rest of her family money. So he just sent me a MLS listing for the house they bought in San Diego.... $1.3 Mil. It's beautiful - roof top deck, 2 blocks from the ocean, beautiful back patio. But it's crazy to think of someone who grew up down the block from me someone I had to DRAG to the mall to buy something clothing that wasn't ugly cords from JC Penny's close out (seriously the guy was soooo bad) is now sporting gucci and buying a $1.3 mil house. That was rather long and pointless haha I should do some work for work or rescue but I think instead I may read Smile

Ash - hope you don't have to deal with too many BH before the real contrax start!

Lauren - poor Xander! DH does stuff like that sometimes, too. When Raymond was 2 DH gave him a piece of really strong homemade garlic bread. After Raymond tried it he downed a bunch of milk then demanded that DH "take yucky stuff off!"

Erica - GL with the naps. I've been lucky that all my boys seem to like long naps. Even Oliver already does 2-3 hours in the swing once a day.

Katie - lucky friend!

I've found the best "pick-up line" for meeting other moms is to ask how old their LO is then talk milestones, size, how cute their kid is, etc. usually they'll reply in kind. It works when talking to dads, too. Some of my others favorites to throw in are "she's so cute", "That's such a fun age", "I have all boys" (good when talking to a mom of a little girl), "they grow so fast", etc. Stupid little things, but they do seem to work! Next week I'm hoping to meet several moms I "picked-up" that way. The group I mentioned and a woman who has a little boy who shares Alex's birthday.. and is as big as Alex! Smile

Hello all! I read everything, but gotta get ready to go to work, so no personals at the moment. Just wanted to share that DH and I are officially going on our first date since SEAN was born... It's planned for 2 weeks from today. I pre-ordered tickets for us to see the last Harry Potter movie and my parents are going to watch the babies. It should be fun, but I think DH was more hesitant to leave them than I was, haha.

And in other news... It was a year ago today that I got my BFP with Cal. Biggrin

Happy 4th Weekend Smile

We found a great deal on some patio furniture so we bought that along with a kiddie pool, a water table, and a little gazebo thing for the yard. SO we have a new table on the deck with a big umbrella and then we have the gazebo thing out in the yard with our old table under it so there's somewhere shaded to sit while Evan plays! We had a friend and her daughter over today and we all had fun out in the yard. Tomorrow we'll play out some more the weather should be great and then dinner at our family's camp. I love the weather Smile I love summer!

Katie - Sounds awesome! I wish we had more shade. We have a table with umbrella, but that's about it. If only our 25 trees would grow a bit more, haha...

Here's something neat... Those on fb have probably seen the pics already, but anyway... I broke my 365 project into 2 albums because it was getting so big and we're at the halfway point in the year, so it was good timing. I noticed that my first pic in each album was Sean sitting in his chair eating, so I decided to put them together. I am AMAZED by the change in 6 months!!!

January 1

July 1

Bonus of my sweetie Cal tonight:

ETA: My body may or may not be attempting to O. Yesterday, right when I was about to leave work, I felt a gush... Panicked a bit thinking it was AF. Got home to find lots of watery CM. It continued through the evening until bedtime when there was definite EWCM, although not quite as abundant as it would normally be.. Still quite a bit. I hope this doesn't mean AF is planning to return in the next couple weeks. That would suck!!

Caught up reading but gotta go get Dana from Nana's house, then it's off to Promenade, a street festival of sorts downtown, they have it every Canada Day weekend.

Gah... More EWCM last night... lots of it. Nooooo! My whole BC plan, aside from abstinence (lol) was to not ovulate, hahaha.. Wink

Well I mean you want 3 right Mary?? LOL! I wonder what my body will do. I started ovulating again at about 7 mo PP but I didn't work at 12 weeks like I will this time I think that may change it. Plus Evan loved to EAT. I have no BC plan so if you figure something out let me know LOL One of the nice parts of being preg is 9 months w/o worrying LOL

We're heading out to the inlaws around nap time. 2 hour drive, 2 hour nap that should work well since BIL isn't arriving until about 1 and he's the point of the visit.

Evan has a runny nose. We have a vacation planned next week. I'll keep an eye on it but Thurs if I'm worried we're heading to the doc, no sick babies on vacation! I'd rather go and be told he's fine then get to Cape Cod and have him miserable. Right now he's acting fine though and it's just really clear runny nose. I worry about his ears though.

Today is beautiful I kind o fwish we could stay home and enjoy it. Oh well... DH's brother only visits once a year or so I can't complain too much

Katie - I hope it's not going to get to his ears. Being sick while you are away from your doctor wouldn't be great. Hope you have fun with your BIL. Your new yard stuff sounds nice - it will be a great summer there. I wish I had a yard.

Mary - sorry your body thinks it needs to revolt against your BC plan. I'm using your plan right now too - abstinence and no ovulation, I don't know how long it will last though, at some point I'm sure I will wind up Oing again. I should start paying attention. Look at how different he looks! I started a 365 yesterday. I have to decide where I'm going to post them. I took a bunch of pictures yesterday, but I don't think I want to do that all the time, I need to just take better shots so I don't haveto weed through them. I have to do some post-processing though, I didn't change my WB and the picture is really off in terms of color.

Virginia - love your mommy pick up lines. I'm painfully shy so it's always hard for me to meet new people on my own. I guess I'll have to get over it until Lily is old enough to make her own friends.

Lauren - Poor Xander! I'd be guilty of that probably (well not a flaming hot cheetoh, but probably something like wasabi) but Lily likes spicy food and strong flavors.

Ash- hope the BH turn into some real contrax soon!

We had lousy weather yesterday so we didn't do anything we had planned. Not sure what we'll do today - the weather looks iffy again. I just want to get out of the house. Maybe we should go try the new ice cream place in our neighborhood. I love how my plans generally revolve around food Biggrin

Quick post here since I am at work, got through reading on my lunch but didn't get to personals, sorry.

I'm on CD35 today, funny thing I knew this cycle would be long. Wonder what is going on with my body. I figure if I get to CD40 I will call my family doctor and get things rolling on seeing a specialist, this is not normal for someone that has been regular their entire life.

Erica: most of my plans revolve around food as well Smile
Katie: sorry you are "stuck" inside. Hopefully Evan's runny nose is just annoying at most and doesn't turn into anything.
Amanda: hope you had fun at the street festival
Mary: boo to the EWCM, lol to your "do not ovulate" plan Wink
Hi everyone else!

Hope everyone is having a nice 4th! We are up at our condo just enjoying the long weekend - my mom took DD for one night so we had a night to ourselves before this baby comes. We took her to a firework show last night which she was only mildly interested in but I was just glad it didn't scare her. Baby boy has dropped low & making life somewhat more difficult since I get lightening bolts of pain shooting down there when walking completely making me stop in my tracks. Plus I've had the worst heartburn imaginable at night lately and not getting much sleep (think: regurgitating a ball of fire), but otherwise I feel great for 38 weeks so I really can't complain! Hoping to see some progress @ my appt tomorrow but not holding my breath since my contrax haven't really changed, just on and off random BH's. Oh well. Not much longer to go either way.

Decided to let DH pick the baby's name out of the 3 that we both like...he likes one way more than the others so that will likely end up being it, but he said he promises he won't decide until he SEES our little guy. At this point, I don't care - I like them all just fine so whatever he chooses will be it. Plus maybe it'll be a fun first bonding experience for DH & the baby. Wink

Erica - Good luck with the 365! My white balance sucks on most of mine, hahaha. The picture I posted from the start of mine is way yellow. I tried using the tungsten setting indoors to get rid of that yellow, but then it's waaaaay blue. I didn't have any editing software until maybe a month ago and I'm still learning how to use it, so most of mine are unedited and I'm never happy with my white balance. My goal is just to keep learning and improving. I guess that has been my goal since I got my DSLR. I've never used it in auto mode because I want to really know how to use it... I love it when I learn something new and have a little "a-ha" moment. Smile

Ash - I hope you've made some progress at your appointment! I can't wait to hear what name your DH picks. It's getting so close!!

Katie - I hope the trip to visit the ILs goes well. I didn't realize yours were 2 hours away. About the same as mine. Yours don't visit EVERY weekend, do they? Hahaha... Wink I hope Evan isn't getting sick!

AFM - So glad to be done with my weekend to work. I just hate working weekends. This one wasn't terrible... But with it being a long weekend and also the first of the month, I'm expecting to get my butt kicked at work tomorrow. Ugh! DH is mowing right now and the boys are both asleep. I've been home about an hour now and they've both been sleeping the whole time! Smile

ETA:
I just thought this pic was sweet. It's me and Sean playing in the water on his birthday.

Ash - have you had your appointment yet? Hope you've made progress!

Mary - that waterfall looks like so much fun! How's the "do not ovulate" plan going?

Amanda - weird that your cycles have suddenly gotten unpredictable

Katie - hope he gets better soon

Erica - I'd love to see some of the pictures you take!

AFM: had a fun 4th. It was too hot, but otherwise good. The boys loved the fireworks. While waiting the played ring-around-the-rosie together. Adorable. And while watching, they kept giggling and saying "boom!". Oliver slept through it.
Now I just have to explain to the older two that fireworks don't happen very often. They keep asking to go see more tonight. Lol

Mary, great pics. You look amazing, I wish I could've dropped that much weight when Xander was 4 mo's, but my body does the opposite of what it should while BF'ing and I held onto a lot of weight until I weaned - theeeeen it dropped off like crazy.

Virginia, lol at the boys thinking they'll get to see more fireworks. I hope they're not too disappointed!

Erica, hope the new ice cream place was yummy.

Katie, I'm jealous of your new furniture and gazebo! We have zero shade in our backyard and it's full sun, so it can be brutal.

AFM, had fun camping (camper camping). Xander did really well and had a great time with Grama and Grampa. I'm glad he's happy to play with them and not be all clingy on me like he used to be. He did good at the beach and even went in the lake for a bit. The pool was kind of cold so that made him angry. Now I'm just playing catch up with laundry and cleaning and all that...

Lol you all are adding shade to your backyards... ours is pretty much all shade and I kind of wish we had some full sun so I could garden! ROFL The grass is always greener, huh?

I had my appointment, but no progress still. The 1/2 cm that I've been dilated is probably just since this isn't my first pregnancy, not a sign of anything "happening". I'm a little bummed, but what do ya do. Next week at my 39 week appt, we'll talk about whether or not to induce or wait it out a bit longer. The good news is that my BP is still awesome and baby looks great (other than that I'm measuring 39 weeks!)

Ashley - yay for good BP! At least if it stays down you can decide yourself what you prefer -- waiting or induction. And your last induction went really smoothly right? So that's always tempting Wink LOL I can't believe you're so close!!

Virginia - So true on teh shade/sun! I have the perfect yard for a garden. I just need to pull my act together and do it next year. Glad the boy had fun. We skipped fire works this year maybe next year we'll try it.

Mary - adorable pic! And I agree you look great!

Lauren - Saw some pics on FB so cute

One more work day before VACATION! Yay for 3 day weeks become 2 day for the holiday then vacation LOL I also ordered 2 glamourmom nursing tanks today. I hope I like them. Baby Steals had them and I LIVED in my nursing tanks with Evan and I'd like some better ones this go around since I know I loved them. I went with mediums.....that might be a bit too small initially when I'm fat and engorged but eventually they should work when I balance back out. Evan is still snuffly. Poor kiddo. He went to bed early tonight he seemed tired we figured the rest would hopefully help. No fever though and he ran around in the yard like a maniac all evening so he must feel mostly ok. Just super runny nose.

Ash - sorry you didn't have more progress. personally, I'd avoid an induction unless really necessary. But I haven't had the best experiences with them.

Katie - yay for vacation!

AFM: Raymond saw a very pregnant woman today (she's having baby by c/s in 2 days!). It set him off again. Again he told me I'm going to have another baby soon. Since we'd just been talking about whether he thought the woman we saw would have a boy or a girl (she's keeping it a surprise) I asked him what kind of baby I'll have. His answer? "Joseph." He also announced that he had boy/girl twins in his tummy. ROFL Kids are so much fun.

Virginia - I have partial sun in my backyard, I do wish I could grow things well there but it doesn't really happen, I only have a few peppers in containers in the best spot for sun. I like the shade cause it also casts over our house so our A/C isn't nearly as costly as being in full sun.

Katie - Yay for Vacation!

TMI - 2/3 of my animals are sick.

What a frustrating couple of days, last night Dana and I spent 2 hours cleaning up after Sadie (our dog) and Silver (our older cat). The dog was being ill all day, plus she has a lump on her hind quarter that needed checking out. The cat was peeing blood.

So today I brought the pair of them to the vets. The vomiting happened to the dog about 1.5 years ago, they never really knew what caused it, she has a sensitive stomach so likely got into something she shouldn't have, so he's just doing the same treatment as before since it worked, an anti-vomiting shot and antibiotics. He was far more calm about the mass than I was said it seems like a fatty deposit, but would like to remove it and test it, so I think we will be talking to him about that on Saturday when we bring Mal (our kitten) in for his shots.

Silver isn't the cleanest of cats, her bottom was quite the mess and because of that she got a UTI, a round of antibiotics for her should bring her back up to health, I asked about wiping her bum with baby wipes and he told me that might help prevent them. I asked about her weight and he said she is heavy for her body size but he's not concerned about it at her age (9 years).

AF hasn't shown, I was a bit moody today, though I did have reason to be, but I hope that is a sign she will be here, really not liking the irregular cycles.

On to the more positive stuff, my grandpa's party on Saturday went well everyone appeared to have fun. It was at the horse track which has a casino attached, dinner was paid for so we brought $40 to bet on the horses and got $10 in credits for the casino (part of the party dinner plan). DH and I left only $10 short of what we walked in with, I was happy with that. The best part of the night was that my grandpa LOVED the picture of the girls I printed and framed for him, though I didn't spend much on it I think it was his favourite gift :D.

Virginia - Joseph is a good name with your other boys! Maybe Raymond knows something you don't? LOL!! Here's a link to the 2 albums on FB - you should be able to see them that way. Lily Album 365 Album

Katie - yay for vacation! I hope you like nursing tanks - let me know. I almost ordered them today, but second guessed myself. Maybe they'll wind up in the archives.

Ash - sorry you haven't progressed. At least your BP is down. I hope something starts happening soon! I'm excited to find out the name your DH picks.

Lauren - Glad you had a good time. I'll have to check your pictures on FB.

Mary - I love the waterfall picture! You look better with a 4 month old than I do with a 10 month old! I rarely shoot in anything but manual mode on my camera, probably because I am so used to shooting film. I really want to work on my post processing - I have Lightroom and Photoshop but have no cluehow to use either one well.

Amanda - hope your body gets it's act together. Weird cycles are no fun if you are used to predictability!

AFM - spent the afternoon in the park with a friend and her baby - it was hot, but we were in a nice shady spot so it was perfect. The girls were so funny having "conversations" with each other. It's so much fun watching them interact with each other.

I totally forgot, Dana and I started making a tutu for Natalie today, we are going to a superhero party at the end of the month and Natalie is going as a Green Lantern (bought a shirt online) thought I'd make a green and white tutu as part of her "costume".

Katie - Wooohooo for vacation! I hope you have a good time away from work!

Amanda - I hope the costumes turn out great... You'll have to post some pics. Smile Sorry your animals are sick. I hope they feel better soon! Peanut is due for his checkup... I've been procrastinating on that, oops.

Erica - I have Lightroom, but not Photoshop. I used to have an old version of photoshop on an old computer. I liked it, but I really like Lightroom better for my purposes (just quick, easy adjustments). I don't really do any crazy heavy editing, so I don't need the full functionality of Photoshop. I don't know if I ever would have bought it, but I posted on the Photography board here for a bit while I was on mat leave and had extra time to kill, and a girl there gave me a code to get it for 99 bucks. It was too sweet a deal to pass up!

Virginia - LOL... I love Raymond's baby fever. He's great at naming babies, BTW! Speaking of baby fever... For maybe the first time ever, I had baby fever WITHOUT the pregnancy fever, just the other day. My "baby fever" is often just missing the feeling of a baby moving in my belly and associated pregnancy stuff... But I think because Cal's pregnancy was just really not fun, I'd almost rather just skip the pregnancy thing and go right on to baby.
Oh, as for my "do not ovulate" plan... I'm not sure. I don't THINK I did, but I did have EWCM for about a day and a half, so I guess it's possible. I'm not temping or anything, so I suppose we'll find out in maybe a week and a half if AF shows up.

Ash - Sorry for no more progress. Maybe you'll be one of those chicks that go from zero to full-blown labor overnight. Smile

AFM - I have the day off work today (woohoo!) but I have to go to the dentist for a filling (boooo! :(). I don't think I had had a cavity since high school, then I had one after Sean and one now after Calvin. And all I remember is that nurse telling me that getting pregnant and breastfeeding so much, so close together can make my teeth fall out if I don't get enough calcium. I thought she was being overly dramatic and didn't really bother increasing my calcium intake... And now, a cavity after each?! I haven't changed my dental hygiene routine, so it makes me wonder if I should have listened to what she said. Soooo... I have started taking calcium + vitamin D just in case. I'm certain I'm deficient in both.

Mary - ick to cavities! I had one after Evan but I get them here and there. I don't have great teeth in my family so I should probably take calcium. I do floss/brush etc I was just thinking I should probably set up a dentist apt for Evan

Virginia - Raymond is too cute. I agree Raymond, Alexander, Oliver and Joseph sound great together Smile Now if we could come up with a name. UUGGHHH We can't even talk about it right now we're so far apart on names sigh...

Amanda - sorry about the pets. That is no fun at all. My cats have been puking lately but they do that from time to time. Hopefully the critters all stay healthy for the petsitter!

Poor Evan is still wicked congested. No fever but I may run him to the ped tomorrow just to check his ears. I just don't want to wait and then have him get worse just before we're ready to leave. If everything is fine great, if not I'd rather get him started on something for the ears tomorrow and have him all healthy by Tues when we head out. If we didn't have a vacation I'd just ride it out and see how he did but it's our first family vaca ever and the first real vacation DH and I have taken since our honeymoon in 2007! Evan needs to be healthy!

Katie - I'm so excited to see your ticker... Halfway day tomorrow!! Are you feeling the baby move? Sorry if you've mentioned that, I've been a little more MIA than usual lately. I hear ya on the name picking... DH and I had a relatively easy time picking Sean's name. It was hard, but nowhere near as hard as picking Calvin's. We really never agreed on ANY names for him. DH's #1 pick (Calvin) eventually grew on me, so we went with it... Now, I can't really picture him with a different name. It's funny how a person really "becomes" their name after a while. It'll come to you eventually!

AFM - A little annoyed with DH. I'm within like 3 lbs of my pre-preg weight which is an exciting thing for anyone. So I announce it happily earlier and he gives me this look of despair. He did this after Sean too... I have weighed the same weight for the last ~12-14 years now, aside from when I'm pregnant. It so happens to be a few pounds underweight for my height. But it's just where I naturally fall. I'm not doing anything to try to lose weight. I'm too lazy to exercise, lol, and I still eat burgers, fries, pizza, ice cream ALL the time... I eat huge portions by anyone's standards. I am in no way deprived of anything... But he focuses solely on the BMI, blah blah blah, and wants me heavier. So my joy of being mostly back to normal after gaining 40lbs and carrying a baby is met with him sighing at me like it's a bad thing. End rant.

I'm such a slacker at work today. Last day before vaca and I'm down in the meeting rooms so it's easy to slack off between appointments Wink

Mary - kind of funny that you're upset that your DH wants you to gain weight Wink LOL I'm not sure my DH has ever mentioned my weight good or bad haha he's very PC on that one Wink

Yes feeling movement and I love it! It's still a bit sporadic and I can't poke him to make him move like you can when they get bigger lol So I sometimes feel anxious waiting for movement (b/c I am crazy) but it's still fun! I'm starting to look really prego too. I can't believe I'm 1/2 way.

Erica - beautiful photos! I hope you mean maybe Raymond knows I'll have another boys someday. I better not get pregnant soon. Oliver needs his milk.

Amanda - GL with AF

Katie - Oh my, you make me miss movement so much! we don't agree much on names, either. Actually, I've wanted to use Joseph somewhere with all the boys, but DH never wanted to. Maybe Raymond can convince him for the next one. Little monkey is already sure he wants Joseph Zachary. Wink

Mary - ROFL My whole family does that to me! I've been around 100lbs since high school. They keep asking how much I weigh and are thrilled when I say I'm still at 110lbs. I plateaued there with the others, too, then it suddenly dropped off between 4-6m PP, so I'm not too optimistic it'll stay.

AFM: Speaking of PP size, I don't think I'll ever fit into my pre-pregnancy pants again. It took 3 kids, but I think my hips got bigger. I tried some pre-preg pants this morning and could barely get them over my hips. Oh well. It might be nice to finally be out of juniors sizes.

I have to order something on Amazon and it comes to around $24.75. I refuse to pay shipping, so I need to find something cheap. The only thing I can think of is OPK/HPT and I am not going there.

Virginia - Raymond and his baby fever are so funny! Lol I think Joseph fits in nicely with your boys' names, too! Wink

Amanda - I feel you on the wonky cycle. Me too! Hope AF shows for you soon!

Katie - How are you 20 weeks tomorrow?! It blows my mind. You have plenty of time to come up with a name for him, though! And yay for feeling movement! :woohoo:

Erica - Love the pics! Lily is soooooooo adorable!! I just love that dark hair! And I think she is really looking like you!

Mary - Want my 10 extra Owen pounds I can't seem to get rid of? Wink Maybe if my MIL would stop bringing us cream-filled donuts from the farmer's market, I could make some headway! I'm running with Owen 3-4 times a week, but blah.

AFM - Well, wonky cycle for me. Blah. Any chart stalkers can look here: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/25cce9. I have no clue what is going on with this cycle! Cyst, maybe? Who knows. All I know is it makes me anxious since we'll be TTC in September! This cycle might throw my dates all off, so we'll see. I guess it's not considered anov just yet since I haven't gotten AF without a temp rise, but it's seriously soooo annoying. I can't tell if I'm gearing up right now, seeing as how I've had pretty flat temps and some (TMI) really wet CM. But my OPK's have been verrrrry negative (the faintest of faint lines). We'll see, I guess.

I had some mid-cycle spotting that didn't coincide with O, so I made a doc appointment. Went last week, she told me she saw nothing wrong with my fertility (I saw the new doc there). Well, great, but that's not why I was there! LOL. I think I threw them off when I said we'd be TTC in 3 months so I just wanted to get checked out to make sure the spotting wasn't more serious! But they were so focused on TTC and stuff that I think she was confused. Haha. Anyhow, she checked my cervix for polyps and said I looked great, and then ordered a hysterosonogram. I don't know if any of you are familiar with that, but it's an ultrasound where they fill your uterus with saline and then look at it with a small camera to make sure there are no abnormalities. At first I was like, okay that sounds a bit weird. And then I got home (after finding out the hospital had to call me) and did a little research and was like NO WAY. That's a fertility test, basically! Very similar to an HSG. So, no freakin' way! I feel like that is overkill at this point. We're not actively TTC at this point, and we have no known fertility issues right now, so... no freakin' thank you. I called them back on Friday to explain and the nurse is currently doing some homework for me to see why the doc ordered it for someone who isn't having fertility issues! There are definitely less evasive routes for me right now (like just a simple transvaginal ultrasound to check for polyps or cysts) that I'd like to do, first. If there seems to be an issue after that that needs further testing, and she wants to move on to something like the hysterosonogram, then okay. But not at this point.

But on a positive note, she was awesome about VBAC talk and super positive! Biggrin

Sorry, that was long. Haha.

Jen - if you last O was CD24 I don't think being at CD29 with some fertile signs starting is that strange. Those OPks can turn positive really quickly! I'd guess just a delayed O for some reason, stress or something. Or just normal variation.
Weird about the doc ordering the test. I'm guessing it was because unnecessary tests are how most docs make the big money. Maybe I'm just being cynical, though.

Ha Virginia I had the same cynical thought - big test like that = big bucks.

Jen - hope the cycle wraps up. If you're running more etc maybe your body is just adjusting?

Finished all my dog tracking that I put off for rescue. I had let it go too long and it took a couple hours. Story of a procrastinator Smile

Virginia - CD 24 is really the LATEST I O (aside from the cycle after coming off BCP last fall where I O'd on CD 42!), so being on CD 29 seems crazy late, even for me. I did have some wet CM, but when I checked tonight, it was sticky. Gah. I have no idea what my body is doing, to be honest. It's really starting to annoy me! I just want something to happen... whether it be AF or Oing! Haha about being cynical! I really thought maybe she did it since I had PTL and stuff with Owen. Lol Look how dumb I am. Wink

Katie - Glad you got all of your dog stuff taken care of! I totally procrastinate working from home, too! I let it all pile up and then have to work 4 hours or something. I hate it!

All this talk of baby movement, temp charting, CM, etc. is giving me baby fever. You guys kill me! LOL.

Jen - I agree with the others. If you didn't have any problems conceiving the first time, I don't see any reason to go through testing to TTC the second time. Good luck with the long cycle... I hope something happens soon!

Katie - Woohoo for little baby movements! I miss that feeling SO much! I hate that my anterior placenta really blunted those sensations this time around... Even in the later part when he was big, I could still only really feel him on the sides occasionally. Boo!

Virginia - Did you find something else cheap to buy, or did you get some pee sticks for next time? hahahah... too funny.

AFM - Working the evening shift tonight (boo), then a 3-day weekend (yay!). Not sure what we'll do tomorrow. My cousin is having a wedding reception on Saturday, so we're going home for the day to visit my family, then going to that at night. She just had a court house wedding, hence no actual wedding to go to. Then on Sunday, we're going to visit DH's family... So lots of travel this weekend. Hopefully the boys do okay with it.

You never know Jen you could be totally right - maybe I'm just a crabby cynic LOL She may have a legit reason but I think you're right to push back I mean Owen was a hole in one right? One long cycle seems fairly normal over the course of years!

So DH and I might be on some sort of terms on a name. It's bothering me. I want a name. I'm not a wait until they arrive kind LOL He asked if I liked Ryan last night and I said I really liked Rylan (or Ryland I could do either). And he said it was worth considering LOL I'd like Evan and Rylan.....and then honestly if #3 was a boy it would be easier b/c we could go with E names again. I have this real thing against 2 E names in a row. Which of course my inlaws wanted to discuss names and I said it was one of my rules only to remember that my SIL Sue named all her kids with Ks and did some kind of odd spellings (Kellie) and I commented I hated weird spelling. Oh well....I guess the moral of that story is don't ask someone about their naming preferences unless you're ok with them not agreeing with yours. They brought it up not me!

Evan has a 330 doc apt. He seems fine today runny nose but fine but I just want to be sure his ears are ok. Hopefully I'm just being cautious for nothing

Hahah... It's funny that "Kellie" is an odd spelling for you. I could see where it would be, but I have two "Kellie's" in my family and I don't know any "Kelly's".. So to me Kelly is the odd one! Blum 3

But yeah... I have a ton of naming rules too (ugh). Actually the name I really liked for Calvin started with an S also... I was okay with it, but I don't think my DH liked the idea. But hey, maybe if we have a 3rd boy?? Wink

Mary - I'm not getting the OPKs or whatever. It would make the baby fever unbearable. I'll wait until I come up with something else.

Me, too. But I'm going to do my darn best to be patient this time. Of course, we had dentist appointments last night and the receptionist was very pregnant and the dental hygienist was very pregnant... and I have my first ever cavity. Boo.

DH still says he's not sure he wants anymore kids. It's frustrating. But, we actually discussed girl names last night for the first time ever (not doing a very good job with the patience, am I?). We don't agree much. He likes boring traditional names. I like slightly less boring names. But, heck, if we ever have a girl I can live with Emily or Sarah or Anne or something!

I have to confess, I am charting a little. I temp occasionally while doing my morning bathroom stuff. I've been getting really predictable pre-O temps, so I figure if I ever get a post-O temp I'll keep an eye on things. TMI: we're trusting LAM, and DH manages to talk me into DTD pretty much every evening I'm not so tired I fall into bed as soon as Oliver falls asleep... so every 2-3 days. My body better follow my "do not ovulate" plan! As soon as Oliver turns 1 I'd be okay with an oops, but I'd rather not have one earlier.

I didn't think kellie was that odd really - but since it's the same sister with 3 Ks (well 2 Ks and a C) I thought perhaps I potentially double offended her LOL Kellie and Kelly are kind of both normal-ish like Megan and Meagan or something. But this was right after I said all E names were off the table LOL I have a lot of rules.....no Es, no odd spellings, no M (last name is M), nothing too biblical, DH refuses anything that's more a last name than first (connor, Carter etc)......it's a problem haha But I think I could name baby #3 Elliott and DH would agree and we'd have a break between Es LOL

Katie - We have similar naming rules, haha. I remember rejecting a few of DH's choices because they were too biblical, haha. His whole family (aside from himself) is suuuper churchy, and I'm just SO not. I remember the first time his aunt asked me if we were getting Sean christened, and I had to awkwardly tell her no, hahahah. Just not my thing.

I also hate it that our last name starts with S, because then I don't want the first name to END with an S. Because it just makes it hard to say the full name. I can't even think of a name right now, but when we were thinking of names, I had to pass up so many good names that ended in an S. Oh, LOL... Okay, so my DH was probably offended by that. I didn't even think about it, but his name is Thomas. It goes against my rule. But not really, because he goes by Tom. Same with my dad and grandpa... They're both James with a last name that starts with S, but they both go by Jim.

Virginia - I just had to go get a filling yesterday. Booo! I think it was my 4th one though. I had 2 at the same time when I was ~16, then one after Sean and now one after Cal. I blame the babies! Wink

So, Amazingly, all my kids have been pretty much the same size at their 2 months visit. But, their 2 month visits have all been at different ages. Lol
Raymond at 8w6d (2 months exactly) was 14lbs 7oz and 23.5 inches
Alex at 7w0d was 14lbs 9oz and 23 inches
Oliver, at 10w2d, is 14lbs 9.5oz and 24".
So, they're all the same height at the same age, but they hit 14 1/2 lbs at very different times.

Mary and Virginia, you guys crack me up over your "have little babies, but have baby fever" fevers! Wink I don't know if I necessarily have full-blown baby fever just yet, but I am definitely getting excited at the prospect of TTC very soon! For a long time I was really dreading being pregnant again (I guess it's more or less a fear of another PTL issue, etc.), but now I'm looking forward to it! I think when I was at the gyn last week and saw a few pregnant women, I was like... aw! I want that to be me soon! Haha.

Katie - My brother's name is Ryan! I like that name. Rylan is cute, too. DH has a huge naming rule (can't be a name that can be shortened, he hates nicknames!), so it makes things tough! We talked about the name Caitlyn when I was pregnant with Owen, and he likes that name, but would hate for people to shorten it. It's his weird thing. Which is funny, since his WIFE goes by a nickname! Wink

Virginia - I keep freaking out about cavities ever since I had Owen, since I heard babies can be the cause! I haven't had one my entire life so far (knock on wood) and I plan to keep it that way as long as possible!

Spoke with the nurse today at the gyn and they're going to schedule me for a regular transvaginal ultrasound next week right before my follow-up! So that's a relief. She told me there was no reason to not do this first since this is my first weird cycle, and that if there is a "problem", then we can always go from there. I'm much more comfortable with that! I explained more to her what my spotting was (just pink CM) and she said it sounds more like something super simple like a mucus something or other polyp that most women get during their cycles that can bleed. We will see! I am aware of a marble-sized fibroid on the left side that they found during my c/s, so I guess that could be it, too. But I didn't BLEED, so really, to me, it seems more like an irritation somewhere. Oh well, next Thursday will hopefully tell us!

Oh, and still no O. Still have that super watery, kinda (sorry, TMI) snotty-looking CM and a very negative OPK. WTF is going on with my stupid body?!

Jen - I tend to like the full names not the nicknames. I think you can fend off nicknames to a degree I had a college roommate named Victoria that went ONLY by Victoria etc but I think with sports teams and stuff it's hard kids end up shortening names especially with boys I think so I have a thing about needing to like the full name AND nickname. I have a lot of things lol Glad you're starting out small hopefully it's nothing but a weird cycle

Virginia - Funny, even if they are different ages! Still a big boy Smile

I'm enjoying being pregnant a bit more this time. I don't like all the attention people asking you how you are etc. Just not my thing. And my hip hurts at night like crazy I have NO idea why, all day fine, sleeping pain. ugh. But I'm still enjoying it. Having a tiny baby again will be exciting but honestly I prefer the older ages I think. I like interaction, I like communication, I like schedules. I'm definitely not the type that will always want a baby....I'm sure I'll always have a twinge that I could love another but at some point I think I'll be happy to move on from infant-stage. Babies are sweet and wonderful but they aren't something I always want one of in the house LOL

THAT is another one of my naming rules! I'm not big on names that can be shortened. It's funny because I ended up with Calvin that I call Cal about 50% of the time. But to me, that's unusual enough that it doesn't bother me. For me, I usually like the nicknames best, so if a guy is going to live his entire life being called Ben, why bother naming him Benjamin? Just call him Ben. But then no one really even just names a boy "Ben" or "Joe" or whatever... Soooo... I just exclude all those commonly shortened names. Hahaha..

Virginia - LOL... Cal was 14lb 10oz at his 4-month appointment. We were looking back at Sean's book... 17lb 3oz. The two of them are very different weight-wise, but they were the exact same length. I expect Cal to be behind Sean for a little while since he was born exactly 3 weeks earlier, but I'm guessing it'll level out by 6 or maybe 9 months?

ETA: I asked this on my June 09 board, but I thought I'd check with you guys too and see what you think...

Sean still wants to drink ONLY milk ALL THE TIME. I'm not really sure how to get him to drink water. I asked the pediatrician about it at his 2-yr visit and she didn't seem concerned. She said as long as he's eating food and not getting constipated and still at a healthy BMI, then it's okay. But it just seems like he should be drinking at least SOME plain water?? I rarely ever give him juice, but he will drink it if it's like 1/4 juice and 3/4 water... So I'm wondering if I should just do that every once in a while since it's just a small amount of juice and mostly water? Or should I just start withholding milk? He seriously asks for more milk a LOT. We probably fill his 8-oz sippy cup six times a day. Does anyone know what I should be doing to encourage him to trade out some of that milk for water?

HAHA my mom had the same opinion hence naming me just Katie Smile She didn't like any of the long names that shorten to Katie she just liked Katie so that's all I am.

FWIW I love Cal and Calvin (or Callum) it's one of the name/nickname combos I'd totally use. But DH is not on board. Sigh. I think Evan and Cal are a cute combo he does not agree.

I'm a total bum today and doing nothing but playing online and posting LOL

Wow, he DOES drink a lot of milk, Mary! Owen drank a ton the first few months we switched him out (like, about 1.5 gallons/week), but he's slowed down considerably the last month or so. What about designating a certain sippy cup as his "water cup" or something? We have a certain one (the Froogo Thermos straw sippy - love it!) that is most always filled with water for him! I don't know if that will help at all, but Owen knows that he's getting water when he gets that particular one (which is at his am and pm snack), and will even take it out of the fridge if you ask him about wanting a drink. I, however, have never had a problem with him drinking water, so I don't know how much that will help.

I think your idea of diluting the juice out more and more until it's 100% water would work, too. Does Sean get snacks during the day? Can you designate those as "water" times for him? I know they say not to let kids walk around with a sippy of milk because it has the same properties as juice in the respect of sugars rotting teeth. So maybe you could try that angle, too, and tell him he can only have water if he's going to be playing while he's drinking. I don't know how you handle him drinking, though, so... this could be all a bunch of bologna for you. Haha!

That being said, I'm kind of a hard@ss and would probably just refuse to give him milk unless he's sitting down for a meal. He'll probably freak for a while, but he'll get thirsty and drink the water you give him in between meals!

BUT! Milk does hydrate better than water. It's been studied. Biggrin

Good luck!

I have the opposite problem with Xander - his name is Alexander, but I INSIST he be called Xander (I put my foot down SO hard with all family when he was born and made it very clear I will not tolerate him being called Alexander or Alex -and yes, I got a few looks). As far as I'm concerned his name IS Xander. I wanted to name him Xander, but DH threw a ginormous hissy fit that when he's older "Alexander Dean M----" will look better on a resume than Xander and if Xander decides he hates his name he can always go by Alexander or Alex (I will totally kill him if he ever chooses to do this, though! Nothing against those names, I love them, BUT HIS NAME IS XANDER in my mind! hahaha.).

Jen, hope you figure out your wonky cycle! We could be TTC together! DH and I don't have a set date, but late Aug/Sept is the earliest we'll be trying. We just keep saying "Fall."

Katie, I think I'll be the same way after kiddo number 2. Always a little "twinge," but I won't feel the need to have another infant. Don't get me wrong, I loooove the infant stage - but now that Xander is older we're falling into such a good rhythm and it's so much easier. lol.

Everyone else, HI!!! (running out of time here, heh)

AFM, just got back from grocery shopping and all that. Xander had a blast at the store because they had balloons EVERYWHERE and he had to point out every single one and squeal. haha. The checkout lady said she could hear him throughout the entire store and said all the ladies up front loved listening to his happy squeals. Glad he was in a good mood! I set up his baby pool in the backyard again yesterday and Xander actually loved it. He hated it last time, so I was happy. I spent a ton of time filling containers of HOT water from in the house this time, though, so the water was nice and warm for him. I think that made a huge difference. It's when the water is cold that he hates it. The pool is in the shape of a whale and has a spout that sprays water and he loved that - only if I had it on super low, though. He didn't want it spraying all over him. heh. Pics on FB. Smile

Alrighty, off to do some dishes before naptime!

My big thing for names is options. My family gives really weird middle names, and all the nicknames for my name were already taken by other family members, so I had no choice, and it might have been nice to go by something else for a while in, say, middle school.
So, Raymond could also go by Ray, Andrew (middle name), Andy, or Drew.
Alex could go by Alexander, Xander, David (middle name), or Dave
Oliver could go by Ollie, William (middle name), Will, or Bill.
It would be weird to me if they decided to do that, but at least they have the option.

I don't think I'll ever feel done having babies. No idea what I'll do about that.

Mary - I don't know what's right but we have a water sippy cup I leave in the living room most the day. Evan has milk in the morning he'll usually have 1 or 2 cups (small squatty cups that hold like 5oz) then when he asks for more I take the cup away, bring out the sippy cup of water and that's that. He sometimes has a small fit but I just keep giving him the water, if you're thirsty drink water bud. Then with lunch he'll have some milk but usually not drink the entire cup. Then after nap I don't even bring out milk, just the water cup and then he can have another cup with dinner sometimes he has 2 but again it's a 4-5oz cup so all total he has a max of like 16oz a day I think and that's a heavy day. The water cup is a taller cup, I leave it out most the time (of course I wash it out 1-2 times a day) but as long as the milk cups are away and the water is available he doesn't seem to mind. But it's just always how we've done it. Daycare gave him juice and I'm not really much for giving him juice so I need to tell them to give him water or milk period. They'll probably think I'm weird but I don't really see a purpose to juice especially b/c he LIKES water!

Mary - forgot to give my advice.
We leave water sippy cups out all day, too. Also, I started my guys on water before I stopped BFing (around 6m). breastmilk came from breasts or occasionally a bottle, water in a sippy cup. When they started with milk that was offered in a cup, too.
I like the idea of slowly watering the juice more and more until it's all water.

Funny, but both my kids like milk and water, but Alex won't touch juice.

LOL Katie, your drink routine sounds almost the same as mine!!

I just started giving Owen a little bit of juice in the afternoons (like 25% juice, 75% water), and he hated it at first. But I think he kinda likes it, now. It's the Fruitables stuff, so there are veggies in there. Haha! But I was anti-juice for a long time, but I think a little bit now isn't going to kill him.

Lauren - ROFL Owen does the SAME thing with balloons in the grocery store! All you hear is him pointing and squealing the WHOLE time. Lol That is soooo funny. I thought my kid was the only weird one to do that!

Katie and Lauren - Totally agree about liking the older age better! I don't think I'll have baby fever forever, either. Maybe pregnancy fever, but not baby fever. I wasn't very "in" to the infant stage, but as Owen has gotten older and more of a personality and can communicate, he is so much more fun! DH says we're done after #2, and at this point, I'm okay with that. I would be okay with a 3rd, too, but I really don't want to make a decision on that until after #2 is here! Haha. I might lose my mind with 3.
