Virginia - No TTC yet :) I debated about this month but I think we'll hold off. I think this should be my fertile week vs vacation week based on my body which helps in the oops department LOL I also got an unexpected call from an executive recruiter about a position I'd be very interested in Friday. It was totally random she saw my Linked In and thought I'd be a fit for the position and it's a company I've kept an eye on (this position isn't currently posted on their site so they must just be using the search firm). So I sent her my resume and we'll hopefully talk. If that was a real opportunity it would change everything regarding TTC but it may not turn in to anything at which time Aug or Sept are game on :) I haven't weaned Rory yet, he nurses once a day before bed and he asks for it and every night I think it will be my last LOL it doesn't really get in the way of anything and he can go to bed just fine with out it (as can I I'm not making much) but when he asks and snuggles in I just go with it :)
Mary - I hope you get some info Monday. But YAY for Calvin using the potty! I think Rory will train earlier than Evan did b/c he seems to already grasp the general concept. He tells is when he poops, if he's not wearing a diaper he'll tell us (like a split second) before he pees. And we just talk about potty a whole lot more b/c of Evan. Diapers are one part of baby-dom I don't love at all LOL I miss lots of parts of little babies but moving on to potty trained is all good in my book
Last year Evan was mostly afraid of water/pools etc. This year he's a FISH. Jumping in and out of my mom's pool and laying in the lake. I think the ocean next week will be so much fun! I can't wait!
Katie - good luck with the job! Rory sounds like Alex was with PTing. He was ready to PT at 18-20 months, but since I was due with Oliver we held off until 2y 3m and it was really easy. We're going to try to PT Oliver in August if the previa has resolved. If it hasn't, we'll just wait until things calm down after the baby is born. Maybe around Thanksgiving or something.
ETA: several hours later...
apparently, while we were at another birthday party, DH got Oliver to pee in the toilet three times. Wow. And Alex can now write his own name! We were drawing with chalk and I, jokingly, asked him to write it and he did!
Katie - Good luck with the job opportunity! Woohoo for Evan liking the water. Sean was not having it when we were at that splash park thing, but I think it was just because too many people were there and he was overwhelmed. He loves it otherwise.
Virginia - Sean can write his name too! :) He wanted to write Calvin's name the other day also, and knew that it started with CA, so he did that on his own, but I had to remind him how to spell the rest. I'm so excited to watch as he starts learning how to read. It's just amazing! :)
AFM - Sean did so great today at the movies! He got a little antsy and asked if it was almost over a couple times and did take two bathroom breaks, but otherwise was great and very well-behaved. He sat on my lap for most of it and I think he had fun.
In other good news, Calvin asked to go potty again today and peed again, a full big pee! So excited!
Oh and in other good news, my cousin is in labor right now! She wasn't due for about a month, but her water broke today. She was only 2.5cm at 9pm, but was 80% effaced and was getting pitocin (boo).
And lastly... I just ordered two large tie dye kids, each with 12 different colors, and a bunch of white stuff to dye for the boys... Can't wait!
Good luck to your cousin! I hope baby does well. And enjoy tie dying! Make some matching shirts for them. ;)
Two photos to share: Alex riding his bike all by himself and a 25 week belly pic which Alex decided to join (in just his underwear, because he had been playing in the kiddie pool in the back yard)
I am so, so thrilled to be past 25 weeks. I have my next appointment Friday and hopefully I'll get the date for my u/s. I'm ready to find out how things are going and come up with a plan for the next steps, if necessary.
Virginia - Love the pics, you look great! Alex is doing great on his bike. Sean can't really even do his right with the training wheels on, lol..
AFM - My cousin's baby girl arrived at 3:08am, and was the exact same size as my Calvin.. 6lb 8oz and 18".. Mom and baby are doing well. She was 36.5 weeks, so just a few days from that 37 week mark. This little girl is 9 weeks younger than my Nolan, and her sister has a little girl who is 9 weeks younger than my Calvin. It will be lots of fun at family parties as they grow. :)
Katie - Can't wait to hear what your future has in store, both options sound great, TTC soon or new job.
Virginia - Great milestones from both your boys!
You look great, very cute belly. The boys are adorable, I can't believe Alex can ride a bike without training wheels. I have to get Nat out and practicing.
Mary - Good to hear that Sean did good at the movie, we are taking Natalie tomorrow (if she's well).
Yay for Calvin and his potty success.
Tie Dye kits sound good.
Congrats to your cousin. Mildly jealous that your kids have family so close in age. Dana is pretty close age wise to her cousins (2 born about 6 months after her) , but the closest to Natalie is 2 years older.
Natalie woke up sick today, she has a cold and hasn't been blowing her nose so I think it's just mucus in her tummy being sent back out, yuck!DH is on vacation so he's watching her.
If Natalie is feeling better tomorrow we'll go see Dispicible Me 2 with the girls.
I'm in the office working today, it's quiet but I have lots to do. I am happy there is only one more day in the office till I go on vacation.
Not sure what the plan is when I get back (from being away) since right now I don't have care for Natalie July 22 - 26.
Not sure if I annoucned it yet but my BFF is pregnant, so excited for her. She's due February 4th, I know it sounds silly but it would be neat if her little one came on Natalie's 5th birthday (January 25th). She's doing really well, there was concern since she has some health problems, she does have a specialist to keep an eye on everything, she isn't very far along and has had 2 ultrasounds already, everything looks good.
Amanda - I hope your friend's pregnancy goes smoothly.
Mary - any news? I wish my kids had family close in age. They still have no cousins or anything. None of my cousins have kids, either. Nor do any of my parents' cousins kids! I'm the only one reproducing at all.
Virginia - love the pictures! WTG Alex riding a bike! Xander has zero interest in riding a bike or tricycle! He'll peddle twice and declare he's done, then just push the dang thing around. Sheesh. haha. Oh well...
Katie - GL with the job opportunity!
Mary - I'm glad Sean did well at the movies. I took Xander to see Monsters University, but he only made it 15 mins (and the previews). I still consider it a success.
Amanda - sorry Natalie is sick. Yay for vacation!
AFM - I can never remember what I last posted here. haha. Did I mention that I started Benjamin on solids a few weeks ago when he hit 6 months? He's loved everything I've given him, though a few took a day or two to grow on him. He's always had "issues" pooping and getting backed up, which results in harder difficult to pass poops. Solids have made it a little worse, well sometimes. The usual offenders like rice cereal, banana, etc. make it worse, while prunes help. That's why I introduced prunes super early! haha, now I have something to give him if he gets backed up. I just wonder what makes him this way, he had this happen when he was 100% breastfed a lot too and that's pretty much unheard of, so I always wonder if it's his body or something. He never seems in pain or anything, at least, so I guess time will tell if there's truly an issue or not. Ummmmm, what else. Oh we finally got Xander swimming in the big pool! He was a total fish last summer, but up until this weekend we couldn't get him in the big pool at all! I think he thought it was too cold and then got it all worked up in his head that it was scary... I'm glad he's finally back to swimming!
Virginia - LOL at you being the only one reproducing. Good thing you're on your 4th one now! My cousins and DH's cousins all pretty much have kids, but we rarely see them... Just a few times a year for holidays or the occasional birthday party or whatever. I'm an only child and he just has one sister who lives about 8 hours away and doesn't have any kids. I had a dream she was pregnant recently, though, so hopefully soon?! I'm getting restless waiting for her and BIL to reproduce, haha.
Lauren - I struggle to remember what I posted here last, too, haha. Glad to hear solids are going well. Woohoo for prunes, LOL.
AFM - No news on me. I put in a call to the neuro office to ask for the test results, but no word from them yet. I swear I feel worse by the day. Less than 3 weeks until I have to go back to work. I just can't fathom standing there all day. Uggghhhh... I am so weak.
Virginia - adorable picture! Alex is so cute and you look wonderful! Cutest pregnant lady ever :) I hope the doctor has good news for you but regardless I'm glad things are going well now
Mary - I'm sorry you still feel so badly. Working like that sounds awful :( I can't wait for my sister (who isn't even married yet haha) to have babies!
Lauren - I can't believe he's 6 months already! I'm glad solids are going well!
AFM - just the same old. I have an initial conversation with the executive recruiter Thursday morning. That will be interesting. We'll see if it goes anywhere. If not I'm giving up on the new job thing for a while and TTC :) For now I'd really like a new job...
