Katie - GL with the job! KUP
Mary - I hope they get back to you soon.
Lauren - weird that he has trouble with poops. Just feed him tons of fruit, now that he's on solids! Hopefully it'll improve as he gets older. Alex has been a fiend with his bike for the past year. As soon as he learned to pedal he just wanted to ride it (or his balance bike) all the time. Raymond still has a ways to go before he gives up the training wheels. They're like that with swimming, too.
AFM: I found out yesterday that Oliver is a fish! We were playing in the town baby pool and he kept sitting down in the deepest water so half his face was submerged. He'd come up sputtering a little, but grinning. Oh my. And he was resting his hands on the bottom so his body would float, too.
At least I know my sister is TTC, but since she's been at it for more than 18 months having a 4th makes me feel kind of guilty. I'd love, for so many reasons, for her to finally have a baby.
Virginia - Ugh, that's gotta be hard with your sister struggling to TTC and you're clearly blessed with massive fertility. Have they had any testing done to find the cause?
Katie - Good luck with the job, but I won't be too disappointed if you just go on and TTC instead, lol. ;)
AFM - OMG, as I typed AFM, I heard DH yell from the bathroom that Calvin pooped in the potty the first time ever!!!!! Happy dance!!!!!
:yahoo: we've had trouble getting our boys to poop in the potty, so that calls for a big celebration!
Well, just over a year ago my sister had an ectopic which ruptured and lost a tube. Because of an illness she had as a kid there's a good chance the other tube is scarred shut. In September they'll be at a year TTC since she recovered from the ectopic, so hopefully then they'll be able to pursue testing. I really just wish it would happen for them, though.
AFM: I haven't had any help with the kids the past two days. DH got home at 1am this morning and won't be home until pretty late tonight. It's exhausting especially because they've been mostly stuck inside because of weather. And the older two have swimming lessons daily. It's pretty exciting getting them all ready and out the door. And then I take Oliver to a kiddie pool next to the lessons and the older boys join me there afterwards until I feel like it will be less overwhelming to try to leave than it is to stay... it's pretty crazy. Thankfully, the ILs have offered to play with Oliver during the lesson tomorrow. It'll be a break.
Virginia: sorry to hear your sister is struggling :( I have a close friend who had trouble TTC and it broke my heart so I ant imagine a sibling going through it. That's great Oliver is a little fish! And cute pics, you look great!
Mary: yay for Calvin!! I don't even want to think about potty training Dane right now but it's definitely in the foreseeable future...ugh!
Katie: GL with the job possibility :vibes: hope it works out for you!
Lauren: that's great that Benjamin likes so many foods!! Makes life so much easier when you don't have a super picky baby.
Amanda: hope Natalie is feeling better.
Doing well at our house. Spent the 4th at the lake - DH played with the older two on the beach a ton and they had a blast. Hudson took his first boat ride and did great wearing his life jacket. All the kids did reasonably well on the six hour drive too so can't complain. It's still 100 degrees here this week so haven't been doing too much outside. I also started working out again this week and feel so much better to be at it again. I'm still stuck at the same weight I've been at since 2 weeks postpartum and its really frustrating but at least I feel like I'm doing something about it now.
Ashley - You're so good about working out, I'm sure you'll be back down to PP weight in no time :) Glad the 4th was good
Virginia - I'm sorry things are so hectic and DH is working so much. No fun at all. I hope it slows down for him soon
Mary - YAYYY for poop! Poop was hard for Evan so I think that's HUGE! Man do I want to get to no diapers!
AFM - talked to the recruiter today. It felt good. She said she was going to strongly recommend the company speaks with me. They may push back some b/c I lack managerial experience and I'd be a director in this role but my experience is pretty autonomous, I reported to a director but did my own thing mostly. I have to take a personality test and she needs to verify my degrees which is no issue then we'll see. We did it all on Skype which was cool....we'll see where it goes! :)
Sounds great, Katie!
Ashley - After Oliver I didn't drop all the way down until I got pregnant again. I was 126 fully pregnant, left the hospital at something like 120 (after having a 7lbs baby ) and eventually got stuck at 107-109. Then when I got pregnant last summer I dropped right back down to 100-102 (like during the 2ww, before the m/s even hit!). I'm now up around 111 again.
Good luck, Katie!!
I haven't weighed myself in a few days, but I was still up about 10 lbs. I'm not too upset about it, considering I gained almost 50!! LOL. My normal clothes mostly fit, so it's ok. I usually hold onto the last 10 lbs until I go back to work, then it comes off quickly. I actually think I look better with the extra 10 lbs, hahaha.
I've never been able to figure out where my 10 extra pounds were hiding. I honestly couldn't see any difference with/without, which is weird considering it's 10% of my weight!
I just gave Raymond and Alex their first ever home haircuts. Here are some before/after. I hope I did a decent job.
Raymond with the clippers (so, amazingly easy!)
Alex with scissors on top and clippers around the back. (pretty darn hard). It always breaks my heart to trim his curls, but they were getting so long and getting in his eyes when wet.
I really like how Raymond's turned out (but I bet DH will think it's too short). I'll have to wait a few days and see what I think of Alex's, whether it's even, etc. The bangs ended up shorter than I'd like, but they always get cut too short at a hairdresser, too. Maybe I'll get it next time. I also think I need some practice so it doesn't take 45 minutes with a wiggling little boy. Raymond's took maybe 15 minutes and I bet I can get it under 10 with a few tries.
Virginia - they look great! Hair cuts with Evan are awful. He cries, he screams, he thrashes. Somehow they turn my really normal happy little boy into a hysterical monster. I'm looking forward to him out growing it!
100 lbs LOL I think I was 100 lbs in like 6th grade :) Not that I'm a huge girl but 135 is my norm....and like 190 preg...god I gain weight like a whale on steroids when I'm pregnant
It took me until college to break 100lbs. I was 95-98lbs (at 5'4"!) throughout HS. I had every doctor after me, convinced I had an eating disorder. I've had at least 3 doctors "prescribe" a daily bowl of ice cream. ;) Normally it's great, but I wish I had more reserves in case I get sick. I also wish I had more mass (and blood volume) in case I have a bad bleed. I've been taking iron 2x a day because I figure that's all I can do to help.
