Holy cow, it's JUNE (yesterday).
Ashley you're having a baby next month! That's nuts and awesome!
I read everything from May I'm just blanking. Mary I'm sorry about DH's gma. Always hard. Virginia GL getting a routine with the 3 LOs! Amanda glad the doc was ok
So I meant to tell my boss but by the time I got out of my meetings yesterday he was gone. Guess Monday will do. I need to go to the mall and start looking at some maternity stuff. Sigh. My work pants are starting to get tight I'm down to like 3 pairs that are comfortable. Shirts are mostly ok still.... at least for now. DH is away so maybe tomorrow I'll drag the baby to the mall b/c most of what I bought online with Evan I didn;t really like I'd rather try it on. That's all the excitement from here
Katie: I've bought almost all my maternity stuff from "discount" stores like Ross & TJ Maxx since I can't stomach spending $25+ on a shirt regularly, let alone for a few months wear & they had a lot of great stuff I could wear to work. Not to best quality, but it'll do! ITA though that you have to try it on too.
Yeah I'm having a baby next month  Crazy!! I finally finished the bedding - I'll post pics as soon as I take a few. His nursery is still inhabited by DH's old desk however so I haven't really started putting it together other than the crib, but hopefully I can get DH to do something with that this weekend. On my way to Ikea to see if I can find a new chair for DD's room - she has had the glider in there and is suddenly all about sitting in it but I don't want to buy another one so I need to find her something else. I actually found a great little "nest" chair on Target.com but it costs $30 & they want $20 to ship it  so I really am hoping to find something similar in a store (Target doesn't carry that chair in stores of course).
I'll have to check out the discount places - never even thought of it! I'm a terrible bargain hunter. We go to the outlets a few times a year and that's when I do my personal shopping of course there happens to be NO maternity store at the GIANT outlet place. I don't shop for clothing all that much which makes spending money on maternity seem that much more crap-tastic. BUT looking like a sausage stuffed in pants a 1/2 size too small is no good either LOL
Ugh I do NOT look forward to cleaning out the spare bedroom. We don't even know where to put the BED we have in there. I wish we had a 4 bedroom house. Or a winning lotto ticket to refinish the basement Instead I have the most giant fence on earth
Ash - getting close!
Katie - GL making space for LO. One of the things which will pressure us to wait for #4 (or which DH will use to try to cinvince me we're done) is that the place we're renting and our car are both too small to fit a fourth kid.
AFM: Had to take Oliver to the ped today. I nicked his finger while clipping his nails last week and today it looks infected. They're just having me do topical antibiotics. Hopefully it'll clear up quickly. Poor guy. He's up to 11lbs 7.5oz, so just over 4 1/2 lbs gained in just over 5 weeks.
We actually do have a routine, somewhat, it just doesn't really involve computer time most days!
ETA: comment from Raymond "There are going to be one hundred babies in Mommy's tummy. No, that is tooooooo many."
Hi I'll catch up more later.
I went to return some stuff my aunt sent the girls, I returned a romper because Natalie is potty training and I don't want to deal with that and a one piece out fit, and shirt that Dana didn't like to Gymboree, they gave me a full in-store credit on the items, as an added bonus they had a sale on the entire stores stock, everything was $13.99 CDN or less. I got a $40 tutu, $40 pair of pants and a $22.50 shirt for $13.99 each!!! The nice thing is I walked out still with a store credit, thinking of going back on the weekend and seeing if there is anything left that I like, the sale is rumored to end on Sunday, no biggie if I don't see anything I can alway spend the credit another time.
Virginia: LOL to Raymond's comment. Poor Oliver but I love that he has put on so much weight already!
Katie: Gotta love that fence, lol! We'll have some big decisions to make on bedrooms if we decide to have a 3rd because we technically have a 3 bedroom house right now - we have an unfinished basement that we'll add one more to but I doubt I'd feel comfortable putting a 3.5-4.5 year old down there by herself so who knows. Guess we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. GL figuring out what to do w/yours.
Amanda: :woohoo: for getting a bunch of bargins!! Even if DD doesn't need clothes, I have a hard time passing up a good deal & tend to get carried away
Decided to mop the floors before bed - I swear there aren't enough hours in the day sometimes! Sounds like we'll actually be home this weekend (first time in a month!) so I should be able to get caught up on housework and everything else I hope. Baby boy is pressing his head/hands into my cervix tonight and it is NOT comfortable to say the least
Katie - I had to laugh a bit that you still didn't tell your boss. LOL... My friend from high school is pregnant and didn't tell most people until she was 22 weeks and already knew it was a boy. Oh, and we have a Motherhood at our huge outlet mall, but it sucks. The stuff is hardly marked down. There are a couple racks of stuff that is like damaged that is pretty cheap, but I'm honestly not even sure if the rest of it is any cheaper than just going to a regular Motherhood store. So you're not missing out there!
Ash - Agreed. Definitely NOT enough hours in the day. Ugh. I'm feeling that way now especially... 8 hours of work, almost an hour commute, almost an hour to get ready to go to work. I try to sleep a few hours. The days definitely need to get longer so I can spend more time with my babies.
Virginia - Poor Oliver! I hope his little finger gets better soon. He's going to be a little chunk just like his brothers, lol. Love it!
Amanda - Awesome shopping, wooohooo!
AFM - TGIF. Just wish my weekend could be spent NOT going to a funeral. Blah. Sean's playset comes next week (Wednesday, I think). I'm excited for that. Can't believe he'll be TWO years old. OMG. They really do grow too fast.
Virginia - ya I can see that at least being a delay. Our house is definitely big enough for 3 or 4 we'll just need to finish the basement for bedrooms....but like Ashley I think we'd have to have a couple room together before we'd be comfortable w/someone being old enough to be in the basement.
Amanda - yay for good deals and store credit! LOVE THAT
Ashley - I hear you! When work consumes my non baby time it's hard. Though I have figured out Evan doesn't seem to mind at all if I clean he finds it fun and follows me around laughing. If I try to work (so I'm on my lap top) while he's awake it usually leads to a meltdown. Or him banging the keys, ugh.
mary - Sorry you have to go to the funeral instead of enjoying time with the boys. That's no fun at all. On many levels!
AFM - DH e-mailed me that he won an iPad at the company meeting! Awesome! He'll be home this evening. I'm trying to clean and pick up before he gets here since nap time yesterday was consumed with work. I also played fetch with the dogs. They needed to get out. We haven't chicken wired the new fence to the ground and there are some gaps b/c our property slopes so I can't leave them out in the giant new yard alone yet but playing fetch was fine. They are all much calmer now, thankfully! This weekend DH will chicken wire it and life will officially return to normal! Evan had fun running around after them playing fetch I just had to make sure he didn't get run over - my one dog is single minded when playing fetch he'd run through a brick wall. OK off to clean the family room and hopefully be done in enough time to enjoy some coffee while Evan finishes his nap!
I didn't even bother catching up on the May thread, I'm just too far behind! Better start fresh. heh.
Mary, sorry you have to go to a funeral on your weekend.
Katie, you're lucky you can clean! I do clean around Xander, but he usually gets cranky about it, yet when I'm not cleaning he's happy enough to ignore me.
Virginia, poor Oliver. Hope the infection clears soon!
Ashley, I don't even remember the last time I did my floors. haha. I never want to clean after Xander goes to bed and we keep leaving on the weekends.
Amanda, great deals!!
AFM, feeling pretty frazzled today. The house is messy and it always makes me feel on edge, but we've been outside so much and I've had errands to do, so nothing is getting cleaned. I'm going to have to do a major cleaning this weekend!! We might have some friends coming over on Sunday, so I definitely need to clean!
Our pool opened last weekend, but of course it had to close half the week because of rain. Bah. But we've had fun on the days we could go! Xander's starting to remember how to kick his legs and all that. I need to find his little floatie thing in the basement so I don't have to hold him the entire time. I also got him some water shoes so he has good traction in the baby pool. He's still figuring out that whole thing, he just walks really slowly. hahaha. And I have to stay right on him because he trips a lot and falls in.
Hi there. My name is Rhi and I am new to this thread. I have a little girl named Elliot and she will be 5 months old on the 10th. We tried over 3 1/2 yrs for her and received our miracle this year. I am so blessed and grateful. I hope I get to meet and talk to other mothers like me.
Lauren: Brekke still does that (falls over in the pool). She'll get overly confident & forget that her balance is all different in the water and go down, then freak out because it got in her "EYES!" haha And don't worry, my floors are lucky if they get mopped once a month these days.
Katie: woohoo for the iPad! And I'm so jealous of your coffee - I want it so bad but every time I taste it, I just gag Soon enough I guess... Good luck with the chicken wire project.
Mary: sorry you have to go to a funeral this weekend I can't wait to see pictures of Sean's new playset. Yeah 2 came fast! People keep asking me how old Brekke is and I tell them "almost 2" and it just sounds wrong (LOL).
Rhi: :wavehello: Welcome!
I don't have the baby's room anywhere near done yet, but here are pics of the bedding I did anyway as promised (sorry they aren't the best pictures, I was in a hurry):
I have a black, white, & red star on the inside of the bumper on the side you can't see.
Trying to show the outsides. Although the crib rails hide them somewhat (and 2 are on the backside), I have a pirate ship, hook, ship wheel, & anchor on the outsides. And PS: this crib used to be natural wood colored I'm proud of my paint job haha
Also the new changing pad cover I made - this was the easiest thing ever!
I will put up pictures when I eventually get around to finishing the whole room. DH's old desk is STILL in there although I have someone who is interested in buying it supposedly picking it up tomorrow so we'll see. Then I have to wait for Brekke's new chair to get here (I caved and got the Target one anyway after going to 5 stores looking for others) so I can move the glider, but I'm getting closer!
Ash: OMG! That is so freaking adorable!!!
Lauren: I hear ya on the house, mine never seems to get clean as I'd like it! Hope you find the floaties!
Katie: Wow! Won an iPad! That's so exciting! Have fun with the chicken wire
Mary: Sorry about the funeral, i read it this last week but didnt really have time for personals. Hope the playset comes on time, it looked amazing! Have fun building that! LOL
Virginia: I love the new pics!
AFM: Going on vacation in a few days, taking Andrew to go see his grandparents, aunts, uncles on DH's side. I'm kinda stressed about it.
So I finally am caught up again - letting this thread go for a few days and it's impossible!
Sandra - sorry you are stressed about vacation - is it the travel or the actual time with DH's family?
Ash - I love it! I am super impressed with your paint job too!
Rhi - Hi! Welcome to the board!
Lauren - my house needs a huge clean too - but we have been doing too much other stuff to get to it. I need someone to take Lily for a huge portion of the weekend so DH & I can really get through stuff.
Katie - cool for DH! I hope your chicken wiring project goes quickly! I hated buying maternity clothes - I didn't want to spend the $ on them either. Now I am trying to get a bunch of summery tops that are easy to nurse in. I don't want to spend the summer in my nursing tanks only.
Mary - sorry about DH's grandma and that you have the funeral this weekend.
Amanda - great deals! Yay!
Did I miss anyone? I hope not!
My child is growing up so fast - she has started pulling up on everything and keeps trying to move while standing - she's not great at it, but where did my tiny baby go??
I was getting coffee this morning and there was a mom with a tiny newborn in a moby behind me and then another one right outside with a 1 month old. I am starting to get some serious baby fever again. I'm so not ready to even think about trying, but wow I am definitely not done!!
We have zero plans so far this weekend and I am starting to think I might want to just go to the park, lay on a blanket and read/nap and play with the baby. We'll see how well that works though.
OKay nap is over.
Rhi - Hello, welcome to the board.
Ashley - Love the bedding, ninjas would be better though (just kidding).
Sandra - Have fun on vacation.
Erica - Hope you enjoy your time at the park.
I'm done and had some serious baby (pregnancy) fever last week because of the TV shows Bones and A Game of Thrones. My first twinges of baby fever started at 6 months PP, so I think you are doing well, if you are like me (and I am sure many others) when Lily is more independent the fever will hit HARD!
Natalie's school was going to have a BBQ but it got canceled due to weather, so we are just taking it easy today, and getting our shopping done so tomorrow we can go out.
Last night we went to the Drive-in Theater with my BIL and his family and saw Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and X-Men First Class. Both the girls came with us, Dana watched both in the back of my BIL's van and loved them, Natalie slept through the whole thing. Pirates was first and I absolutely loved it, was a bit sad that I didn't get to see it in 3D (I love 3D), what I saw of X-men was good but since it started so late (after 11pm) I fell asleep for a good bit of it, we'll likely buy it when it comes out on Blue-ray (DH loved it) so I'll have a chance to watch it in it's completion.
Hi Rhi, nice to meet you.
Ashley - Everything looks adorable! Your little boy will have the cutest room
Sandra - GL on the vacation - have lots of fun
Erica - I can't believe how big she is I saw your 9 month post on FB and it seems unreal! Oh baby fever
Amanda - Movies sound like fun I have actually never been to the drive in and there's one right near here. Evan wouldn't sit still yet so we have to wait a bit LOL
AFM - beautiful day here today. We went to the farmer's market in the morning then over to a park to let Evan run around a bit. Then I came home and took a nap LOL DH hasn't gotten to the yard stuff yet but that's ok, we have a system that's working until he has time. He had to mow and do a few other things and I can't complain since I was busy napping Evan's going to drive me to drink. The kid LOVES mashed potatoes. Today at the farmer's market we got some potatoes DH boiled up and we just mashed them with a fork with some butter. Evan wouldn't touch them. Sigh. They were delicious but he wanted nothing to do with them. Crazy baby he better smarten up we eat them all summer long!
Rhi - Welcome!
Ash - Your nursery is freaking awesome!!! I love it!
Sandra - Don't worry, the dealer assembles and installs the playset for us!! LOL... Sean would be 10 before he got to play with it if DH and I were left to our own devices with it. Good luck with the traveling!!
Katie - Farmer's market sounds great. I really need to find one around here. I've seen some signs for them, but not exactly sure where they are. I really wanna go!
Amanda - Drive-in sounds like so much fun! I've only gone once... It was over the summer with DH (BF at the time) when we were in college. We only got to stay for one of the movies because he had to drive two hours home afterwards and it was getting pretty late. It was a lot of fun though!
Erica - YAY for baby fever!! LOL. I get excited when other people get baby fever (I think it makes me feel like I'm allowed to get it too, hahaha)... We were with DH's family today and his cousin (who has 3 kids) was holding Calvin. And she always gravitates to him and the small babies, and I was wondering to myself if she was having baby fever. And I swear it gave ME baby fever just thinking about it, hahaha. Also... Woohoo for Lily pulling up!! They do grow too fast!
AFM - Went to DH's grandma's funeral today. DH missed most of it because Sean would NOT sit still and be quiet in there, so he took him out to the lobby and subsequently outside because he was like yelling while the funeral lady was trying to speak. I felt bad because I thought I should be out there with Sean and DH should be inside because it was HIS grandma, but I didn't want to cause anymore of a disruption than we already had by me walking out, then DH walking back in, etc. So I just stayed in. It turned out okay anyway because Cal ended up getting fussy too... SIL was holding him and he had passed out, so I thought he'd be okay, but he woke up and was fussy too. She handed him to me and he calmed down (aww :)). Other than that, the boys were great today. We went back to the IL's house for a short while, then left for his cousin's graduation party (who lives closer to us than to MIL and FIL, so we only had about a half-hour drive to get home after that). LOOOOONG day, and the IL's want us to meet them for lunch tomorrow before SIL goes back to the airport too. I don't even know what time, but I hope I get to sleep in!!! We had to be up at 6am today to get ready and get out on time, and that was after the dog had to go outside at 2am and Cal had to eat at 3am. *YAWN* :coffee:
Oh my... PLEASE tell me I'm not about to have AF. It's too soon! I didn't get it until 8 or 9 months last time. But several days ago, I had something that was a mix between watery and EWCM. It was stretchy, but I don't think it stretched QUITE as far as my normal EWCM does. But I was amazed that I had any CM at all while still BFing, because generally it makes me dry as a bone, lol... TMI, I know. And anyway, I was awake off and on throughout the night with cramps in the vicinity of my uterus, and it's still going on this morning... Like PAIN. :WTF: Pllllleeeeeeaaaaase don't be AF... Please?
Oh no MAry! Then you have to figure out BC LOL DH and I were just talking that if we had #3 it would make sense to space it so Evan was in kindergarten so we weren't paying for THREE in daycare at once. But DH's response was "then we're going to have to figure out how to keep you from getting pregnant" LOL I hope your body is just toying with you!
I posted belly pics finally in the belly thread and I'm making my first maternity clothing order. I decided just to order online.....mostly b/c I'm too lazy to go to the mall. If it all fits like crap I'll have to go return it and that will be motivation to go. I also bought a dress for a wedding I'm going to in July I hope I like it.
I hope my body is just toying with me too, but I'm also in a BAD mood, which doesn't help my odds, lol. That could have something to do with the fact that the IL's have insisted that we meet them for lunch today, so we're just sitting around the house waiting for them to call and tell us they're on their way... And it's beautiful outside. And I have to work the next 9 days.
I forgot to mention that yesterday, they insisted we go to DH's cousin's graduation party... We had the dog with us because we couldn't leave him here alone all day while we were at their house and the funeral. DH didn't really want to go to the party either after such a long day and early morning, so he tried to use that as an excuse to get out of it. They INSISTED that we drop the dog off at our house, then go back to the party. So... We drove PAST the party an extra 30 minutes to our house (which was already a 2-hr drive), drop off the dog who has ALREADY spent the entire day either alone in a cage or in the back of our van, then drive the half hour back to the party... Hang out there for a while, then drive ANOTHER half hour back home... Where we arrive 2 hours past when I should've pumped, after DH told me we might get home a half hour late for my pump. I told him to grow some balls and tell them no once in a while, but fat chance of that happening. Grr..
The dog couldn't just go to the party? Ugh I'd have been LIVID Mary! Hell I'm cranky about going to DH's parent's next weekend b/c Sunday at 7am I have to catch a flight for Chicago for 3 days. But we haven't seen his family in MONTHS so I'm sucking it up. But I did make DH PROMISE we would leave at a decent hour so we didn't get home at 10pm at night before I have to leave the next morning at 5am! It's cloudy and chilly and apparently really buggy out (DH is mowing and just put on jeans to deal with the bugs) so we're stuck inside, BLAH!
Well I wasn't real big on taking the dog with us either. I'd never been to their house, so I didn't really know what to expect. DH said they had a dog too, and I didn't want Peanut acting all nuts (he has poor social skills, lol). So I didn't really want to take him either, but we had talked about it the night before and decided we would just use that as our excuse to get out of it and come home (DH's idea)... Then he wimped out... As always.
The good thing is that it was my first time seeing their neighborhood, and I loved it. The houses are bigger with more land for the same price as our house! And it would only add about 10 minutes each way to my commute, which is doable. So whenever we do go to sell this place, we'll be looking in that area for sure!
Eww for the bugs!! I hate bugs... My least favorite thing about this time of year.
ETA: Lunch with the IL's was fine. Both boys fell asleep on the way home and have been passed out since. It has been almost 2 hours!! Sean was cute at the restaurant. He kept flirting with our very pretty waitress the entire time, LOL. TOO funny. Cal got fussy in his carrier, so I got him out, calmed him down, and he passed out on my chest. I managed somehow to eat while holding him without it being a huge mess and he has been asleep ever since, haha.
Tomorrow is my bday and i just dont feel... like i care? If that makes any sense? It feels like the only people who probably legitimately care is my hubby and mother, maybe i'm just being debby downer. Hubby did get me this for my bday:
Mary - Did AF show on you or is your body just messing with you, hope its just your body being weird.
Katie - Hope the clothing you ordered is nice and fits well.
Sandra - Happy Birthday!
Yesterday DH and I took Natalie to the car show, she absolutely loved sitting in the cars pretending to drive them.
Today I am at work and tired, might have to make a tea to help wake me.
Dana is off to camp with her school for 3 days, really hoping she enjoys herself.
Sandra - Happy Birthday! I know that feeling, but I've never been one to get too excited about my own birthday. Just usually feels like another day. I think they just got boring after I hit 21 and everything was legal, lol. Now I'm inching closer to 30 and it's just depressing.
Amanda - No AF yet... Hoping it was just nothing! Camp sounds fun. I hope Dana enjoys it!
AFM - DH is NOT allowed clipping baby's fingernails anymore. Last night, he was cutting his nails and my poor baby was screaming bloody murder. I thought he was just mad because DH was keeping him from his bedtime meal. Nope... My pitiful little guy came out of it with a bloody finger on each hand. I cut a band-air length-wise to make two skinny band-aids which worked perfectly, but looks so sad! And after it was over, DH gave him back to me and he was sooooo pitiful... He was making the saddest pouty faces and letting out little cries off and on. I gave him a little tylenol and some mama milk and he fell asleep. So sad though!
Today is day 1 of 9. I'm glad I have the arrival of Sean's playset in a couple days to look forward to. I'm just going to try not to think about the fact that it's 9 days and just hope it goes by quickly.
Mary - I'm guess it's your body toying with you. Remember how crazy mine was after #2? I did have periodic annov bleeding, but it was light and never lasted long. I'm hoping it'll be more normal this time. Good luck.
AFM: things still aren't in the clear for my mom. She has two different things going on which could indicated two different cancers. It's pretty scary, especially since she's the same age at which my grandmother first got cancer.
Mary: Sorry your DH apparently sucks at cutting fingernails, poor Calvin! Mine has never attempted it nor would he & that's fine with me. Sorry about the wacky body signals, hopefully the real AF is a long, long ways off!
Sandra: *hugs* Hope you had a nice b-day. Your new siggy picture of Andrew makes him look so much older suddenly!
Virginia: that is so scary, I'm sorry your family is going through this *hugs* I hope they can figure it out for her soon so they can find the next step.
Katie: sorry you have to do the whole in-law thing right before you leave town next weekend & boo to the bugs, yuck! We see my in-laws at least once a week normally & vacation with them quite a bit so I'm "used" to being around them a ton, lol.
Had a nice weekend - the weather yesterday was great so I let DD play outside in the hose water for a while & she had a blast. Then went swimming up at the in-law's house; she's been swimming a ton with my MIL on the days I have to go into work and I couldn't believe how confident she's getting in the pool. If only she could figure out how not to suck water up her nose, we'd be good! Tomorrow is my 34 week appointment...yikes! Then it'll probably be another @ 36, then to weekly appointments. I can't believe how fast the end is coming.
Virginia - I hope everything turns out okay with your mom. Can't imagine how scary that must be. Please KUP on how she's doing. :bighug:
I think my body is just messing with me too. I seem to remember something similar at around the 3-mo mark with Sean too. I still think my body doesn't like to O and make milk at the same time, haha..
Oh, if anyone has a free minute, please vote for Calvin. I put him in this contest for Parents magazine for a chance to win a spot on the cover or cash prizes. Worth a shot, lol! http://photos.parents.com/category/vote/photo/899555
Sandra - I'm in the Bdays are no big deal club. I think it often makes me a bad friend though b/c I just don't think about them so I never make a big deal of other people's bdays which I know ticks people off. But in fairness I do not expect anyone to remember or pay attention to my bday so I just expect I can do the same for theirs LOL DH and I hardly even do gifts. I think bdays are basically just another day....and my next one is 30....so now I'm just getting old
Virginia - that is so scarry - KUP I hope she comes through everything ok
Mary - I'm the meanest nail cutter LOL I've cut Evan a bunch of times. I make my dogs bleed a bunch too. He just moves too much!! Poor pathetic baby. Day 1 of 9, ugh!
Ashley - My mom opens her pool this week....she's always late about it but it's been a pretty cold spring here so not a big loss. I hope Evan likes it....we'll see he's kind of a wimp LOL
Busy at work, I have to basically jam 2 weeks in to 1 b/c I'll be gone next Mon and ue to Chicago. And I HAVE to tell my boss today LOL No chickening out damn it
Katie - LOL @ you calling your child a wimp, hahahaha... Good luck telling your boss! I hate that feeling. I get so awkward about it. And with Calvin, it came up because I was missing work due to bleeding, right after I had just had a m/c. Ugh, so awkward. Good luck... I hope it goes well!!
Oh I'm the same way with birthdays. I don't make a huge deal out of anyone else's, but I don't expect them to do anything for me either. And we've already discussed how unromantic the gift-giving situation is with me and my DH, lol... On rare occasion, he'll surprise me... But I'm usually buying my own gift, hahaha..
I noticed in Virginia's "this week" post that someone was asking how to share picture.
You have to go to somewhere like Photobucket or Flicker (any image hosting site) and sign up for an account. Upload your pictures, leave this window open. Come here create a post, go back to the image hosting site you just uploaded your photos to and get the image URL, every site is different. Once you have the URL copy it and come back to your new post click the insert image button (has a picture of yellow box with a mountain), paste the URL in the box that comes up and hit OK. Then post your message.
Hope this helps I know its not the clearest but its a basic rundown.
On a happier note... another chance to laugh at Raymondhttp://www.pregnancy.org/bulletinboards/showthread.php?p=8569991#post8569991
I told my boss! He was very nice. Phew. I almost chickened out. But I finally spit it out LOL It is such an awkward thing to say for me!
Katie - glad you told your boss and it went okay - I hate doing things like that too.
Virginia - LOL@ Raymond! It's adorable though, I'm glad he is such a great big brother. **hugs** to you - I hope that everything turns out okay with your mom.
Mary - I voted for Calvin. I am really nervous about cutting Lily's nails still - I cut her 2x when she was tiny and she cried SO much it made me cry. Now she is just so squirmy or too busy trying to "help" me that it's really hard to do safely. Sorry your body is toying with you. Mine seems to randomly decide to start in with some almost fertile looking CM every now and then but nothing happens. I think Lily still is nursing too much for me to be ovulating though.
Ash - 34 weeks? Wow - getting so close! I wish we had a pool for Lily to go to regularly, you are lucky!
Amanda - hope you wake up some! I want to go to camp! Hope Dana has fun!
Sandra - Happy Birthday! I'm also a keep it low key kind of birthday person, sorry you are feeling kind of down about it though.
We went to a new park yesterday - it's right on one of the piers and has some cool playground areas. Lily was too little for anything but the swings (it was too called for the water part) but she LOVED it. They also have some yummy food there so she got to share lunch with me. It just opened and they are still in the midst of completing the work, but I think we will be back - it's only a few stops and a nice walk from our house.
Today we went out to lunch with Lily and I swear, she thinks the entire world should be there to entertain her. Our waiter was talking to her and making faces at her when he was taking our order, but when he walked away she started "yelling" at him to get his attention again. Silly baby!
Virginia - Very cute of Raymond, giving the baby a little buddy.
Katie - I am sure telling your boss lifted a huge weight off your shoulders, good to hear he was nice about it.
Erica - Sounds like a good fun day.
Done work, still tired and DH is running late getting home because of an accident on the highway. Glad I have Tuesdays off work.
Just caught up and now it's bath time for the little man, ugh! Guess no personals right now... I'll get on that tomorrow!
Spent a long time at the pool this afternoon, it felt great since it's almost 100 today! Xander is still iffy about the pool. He LOVED it last summer, but now he's a whiner for the first 20 minutes and then he kind of remembers that it's fun. He'll adjust soon enough, we go almost every day (weather permitting).
Virginia: LOL to the pictures. I love the one of him trying to BF the baby, cracks me up.
Katie: glad you didn't chicken out I had the hardest time telling my boss last time & he's someone I know REALLY well too from outside work but it was just really awkward for whatever reason.
Lauren: I'm sure he'll decide it's awesome after a few more visits.
Erica: sounds like a really cool park! We have a nice one close to us & it's really fun now that Brekke is old enough to start climbing around & going down slides.
Amanda: hope you have a nice day off!
I have a dr appointment this morning then I have to go into the office for a while. Blah. Baby has the hiccups right now which is a pleasant change from having his heels dug violently into my left side!
Ash - you make me miss being pregnant. I miss those heels dug into my side!
Erica - sounds like Lily has quite the budding personality.
Lauren - we're getting that weather soon. eww.
Amanda - enjoy your day off
Katie - glad it went well.
AFM: went for a long walk with the boys and the ILs this morning. I'm not looking forward to 90 degree weather the next few days. Just signed Raymond up for swimming lessons this summer. wow. Oh... and check the Oliver pic in my siggy... finally caught it on camera (okay, give me a moment to get it up!)
Ash, I always complained about the heels in my side, but now I miss it. Funny how that is. lol.
Virginia, adorable picture!!!!
Katie, glad you told your boss! I bet you feel tons better now.
Mary, sorry Cal got his fingers clipped a little. I used to always clip Xander's nails why he was nursing since he was so calm - have you tried doing it while he's drinking a bottle?
AFM, Xander FREAKED at the pool today. He just had no interest. Ugh! It takes forever to get him ready and get us down there and then to only spend 15 minutes is such a bummer. I wanted to stay, it's all toasty warm and sunny! I love the heat!!! Oh well, at least I used part of his nap to lazily lay in the back yard in my bikini. Only because my arms have gotten tan and my legs were still ghost white. lol. I had to even things out and I can't do that with a toddler around, I need to lie down. I managed to get a little color on my gams, so I guess it was a sucess.
DH is gone until Friday night doing training for work. I'm looking forward to watching some chick flicks at night, but it's going to be hard not having any support with Xander. Oh well, not a huge deal. I watch him all day and DH only watches him from 5-6 when he gets home from work and before he goes to bed, so I guess I'm only losing an hour of help. lol. Still, that's when I'd work out! Guess I'm being lazy this week.
Virginia: yay for swimming lessons and cute pic of Oliver!! I was hoping to do mommy & me swim classes with DD this summer but at this point I don't think it is going to happen. Maybe I'll be able to find a class at an indoor pool this winter when DS is old enough to leave for a few hours.
Lauren: Sorry Xander isn't loving the pool  I always joke with my DH that having a baby keeps me from getting skin cancer because I spend so much less time in the sun trying to keep her out of it! My DH does a lot of random trips for work so I know how you feel. While it's nice to have plenty of time to do what you want (like watch girly movies, haha), it makes the day really long with your kiddo. My DH isn't even very helpful with her, but I feel like it takes some of the pressure off me somehow.
Even though the heels in the side are occasionally painful, I really do love them. My appointment this morning went well. I actually lost a pound from my weigh in 2 weeks ago so that was good because that one was a little high. Baby's HB was in the 150's, BP was good, & I'm still measuring a week ahead. I was two weeks BEHIND with Brekke at this point so we'll see if it means anything with his size. In 2 more weeks, I get checked & GBS test, then start weekly appointments...yikes!
Erica - Lily sounds so interactive - every stage is so much fun!
Virginia - ADORABLE pic! Oh you make some adorable boys! Glad you had a nice walk
Lauren - sorry about the pool, ugh. I should ask my mom if hers is open b/c it's supposed to be HOT Thurs/Fri! DH travels here too and in this house DH does a lot - makes dinner, baby stuff etc etc so I feel it when he's gone! But there are things like my trashy MTV that I love that refuses to watch that I do enjoy LOL
Ashley - aww I can't wait for movement! YAY for a good appointment.
AFM - Busy work day trying to get ahead for next week. Going to Chicago for 3 days is going to screw me all up. And then for the next few weeks I have a TON to do and a bunch of things that take me out of the office both work and private (vacation). Sigh. Busy. The VP congratulated me today and also asked what my plans were - and I said to come back at 12 weeks PP to my 3 day/wk schedule. Which seemed to make him happy. He did comment that 3/wk seems to work well for me but it didn't work out at all for the other gal. Part of me wanted to tell him that's b/c I work at home ALL.THE.TIME. (like right now I'm putting off work I have to get done before bed) but then part of me didn't care. I have no desire to rock the boat, I like my little set up and I don't need to make a martyr out of myself or get credit. I hit my numbers, I do a good job, they just can't expect anyone else to be successful if they actually think they will only work the 3 days a week they are in the office.
Katie - hope you mom's pool is open! Not sure how we're going to survive this weather. Ugh.
So... the baby fever is starting. It's different this time, though. My gut feeling is "I want another!" but as soon as I catch myself thinking that the rational part of me goes "wait... no. not really. not yet." It's all those darn hormones. It'll fade. I hope.
Virginia - ROFL! It won't fade until you pick a date and really settle on it, then it will go into a nice holding pattern. Love, love, love your new siggy shot of Oliver! Good luck in the heat - we are melting here already. I wish we hadn't chucked our broken window a/c last fall - even a broken one would be better than none.
Katie - hope the pool is open for you guys! Lily is super interactive and full of personality - it's fun!
Ash - yay for a good appointment and loosing some weight. I miss those heels and pokes!
Lauren - sorry Xander freaked about the pool - hope he gets used to it quickly!
Hey everyone else!
We just got back from Lily's 9 month appointment - she's 18 lb 3 oz (50th) and 28.6 inches (82nd). Nothing too exciting otherwise. We scheduled her 1 month appointment though - yikes! Now we are just trying to survive the next few days without a/c - I think I might not make it though. We threw out our old window unit in the fall because it was dying and we had planned to buy a new one this summer, but we haven't yet and DH is a serious research fiend before buying ANYTHING, which is fine, but it takes him FOREVER. I just want an a/c in the bedroom now!
Virginia - Baby fever with a 1 month old, you are CRAZY!!!
Erica - Sounds like Lily is growing well, 9 months really? Hope you can keep yourselves cool in this heat wave.
I am soooooo glad we have central A/C at work and at home. Would have been nice to get out this morning when it was nice and cool instead of working though. Maybe if its cool enough after work I can walk the dog while DH does Natalie's after dinner routine.
I am currently "working" on a catalogue for our gift and alternative healing products, I'm procrastinating far too much, my desk is tidied some other items are put in our accounting system but not much is done on the catalogue for how much of the day is over.
So, we didn't even survive the next few hours without a/c - we went to a local place and bought an a/c for probably $80-100 more than we would have if we waited, but I didn't care, I made DH go at 4 and buy it - I told him we weren't spending another night without it. We are now blissfully holed up in the bedroom for the rest of the night (possibly the rest of the summer). It's a good thing too, they are forecasting 100F without the heat index for tomorrow. Yuck. I might have to pick up so new toys on the way home from work tomorrow - no playground in this weather.
Erica - GOOD CALL! Not having A/C would be pure insanity! Central air in full effect here. There's just no other choice. We only set it to 73 (ok maybe I drop it to 70 if it's REALLY muggy lol) but I LOVE it. Somehow I grew up with out it but now I'm spoiled.
Tomorrow is Evan's 18 month appointment! He's such a big boy now I'm also already dreading my business trip to Chicago Sun-Tue I really don't want to go. Sigh. Leaving Sunday REALLY bugs me. It sucks to travel during the week but at least that isn't taking up my total family time! BAH! And it puts me behind at work which adds to the overall stress. Oh well....Sun-Tue I can do it....
Erica - we have the same weather. eww. We can't put an a/c in the boys' room until we get some wiring fixed... the electrician is coming Monday. In the meantime, we might all end up sleeping in one room tonight.
Amanda - GL with all your work
Katie - 18 months? wow, it does go quickly!
AFM: awesome news! My mom's biopsys came back mostly benign. She did have some precancerous stuff, but it's already been removed. Whew. Still waiting to hear on the other issue, but the one I was more scared about looks okay.
And oliver slept 6 hours last night! Then he ate, and went right back to sleep for 3 more hours.
Ollie at 6 weeks (we're sticking with Oliver but he gets called Ollie, too, sometimes... and it's easier to type.)
ETA: well, my mom needs more surgery, but at least issue #2 is also just precancerous and I don't think the surgery is too complicated.
Just wanted to say hi! I'm alive, but just not enough hours in the day for everything lately. I'm taking Monday off (unpaid) so only 7 straight days instead of 9. So next week, I work Sunday, off Monday, work Tuesday, off Wednesday, work Thursday, off Friday, work Saturday, off Sunday, work Monday... Hahaha... Nothing like working every other day. Better than all those straight days, though.
Virginia: I think Ollie is a cute nickname. YAY for your mom's results!
Erica: I don't blame you! We finally had to turn our air on over the weekend and it's been running ever since.
Katie: 18 months?! Crazy.
Amanda: hope you got some work done
Mary: working every other day definitely beats a long schedule of every days!
Had to take the dog to the vet this morning (he has seasonal allergies so every summer I have to take him in to get a shot & a new round of meds to get through summer). Brekke loves him so much and was so excited to take him in the car since I NEVER let him in the car unless he's going to the vet or groomer (he sheds too much & I like my car clean). On a side note, DS seems to have dropped down a bit and is putting horrible pressure down there that makes me waddle a lot more often  I hope he eases up a bit for a few weeks.
So... I just ordered 14 CDs for $77 (with shipping). A Mom on April 11 mentioned them and I checked some reviews. They sound okay. They're clearing out some inventory and, while I usually like snaps, at $4.50 a piece I'll take velcro. Hopefully they'll live up to the reviews.http://www.nubunz.com/
Virginia: hope you like the diapers you ordered. I just got my first pack of NB sized diapers (disposables) last week from Amazon and I forgot how freakin' TINY they are. Awe!
Have a nice boring day planned. Hopefully it warms up so I can let DD play in the little blow-up pool I bought her...she likes slides, so I got the little play pool that has two small wading pools with a very small blow-up "ramp" between them so hopefully it isn't a piece of junk & she can splash and slide to her little heart's content. I've stayed up late doing work for DH all week - he has people out of town and needed help, so after reminding him that in a few weeks, he'll need another solution, I agreed  - so I'm dragging this morning. What I wouldn't give for a good cup of :coffee: Too bad it makes me want to puke. Guess I'll be seeing a Coke later this morning.
