Ha - after I wrote that DH forgets to sign with her most of the time, he saw her sign "eat" during breakfast and now wants to have a list of the signs I use most with her and he kept trying to sign during breakfast. LOL!
Mary - Beautiful pictures. Sorry to hear the shifts are rough, at least you get Sean's birthday off.
Sandra - Hope you can get back into pottery, have some fun with it and possibly bring in some money.
Erica - Try to have a good day at work and have a relaxing evening tonight. Good to hear that your DH is interested in signing to Lily.
Reinstalled windows on my laptop today, but I think I'm going to need some technical help from DH getting more stuff set up since I can't connect it to our network, so I don't have internet access on it. I normally use a PC at home since the laptop is mostly for work.
A pork shoulder is in the slowcooker to be turned into pulled pork later and I have some dough being made in the bread machine to make buns to put the pork on.
Erica - yay for signing!
Sandra - GL with the kilns. I lvoe pottery. Haven't done it in ages, though.
Mary - I sometimes wonder how much I'd get if I tried a double elctric pump. Hmm.
Amanda - GL with the computer issues
AFM: I took all the boys to the playground by myself this morning! I was feeling brave. It went pretty well, actually. Alex is asleep for his nap in his toddler bed again. And I'm trying to institute "quiet time" for Raymond for an hour each day while Alex naps. I need my break.
Here are the pics!
What you all have to look forward to... a kid who can undo baby gates, reach things on counters, and unscrew a lid... and help himself to the giant tub of animal crackers
All 3 boys with a handmade quilt Oliver was given
The big boys modeling the shirts I made for when we go out to a crowded place where there might be lots of school groups
and Oliver checking out some jellyfish He has no problems facing out in a carrier.
Virginia - Love the pics. Oliver looks huge already, haha! I love their tie dye shirts.
Amanda - The food sounds yummy!! Good luck with the computer. Mine sure gave me a rough time the other night, grrrr...
Erica - I've been tired today too, ugh. Cal has been killing us, waking every 3 hours to eat at night... I swear he slept longer stretches as a newborn. *YAWN*
I wanted to sleep in tomorrow, but of course the IL's are coming to visit and will be here by 11am... The house is a disaster and I have no energy to clean it tonight. I'm trying to get DH to start on it, but it'll probably end up with us getting up early to do it. Ugh. I hate it when they decide to visit on weekdays. Just because it's summer and MIL doesn't have to work (she's a school secretary) doesn't mean visits during the week are necessary, lol. Especially because I have to work Saturday, so I was looking forward to having tomorrow free. Blah. No free time for meeeee....
AFM - I had an AFM, and I can't remember it now. I'm THAT tired. :coffee: OOH! I remember. I'm thinking of ordering some big numbers from somewhere (etsy maybe?) to take pictures of the boys with for their birthdays. I wish I had thought of it sooner as they might take a while to ship and I'd like to have it before Sean's birthday so I can take a pic of him with a big "2". Anyway, we'll see what I come up with...
I feel like I'm forever behind on here lately
Virginia - I LOVE the pic with the blanket so sweet, Alex face is just too cute.
Erica - GL with the signing!
Mary - UGH to the inlaws you get no peace! It would drive me batty
I'm missing things from the other page from Sandra and Jen and others sorry ladies! HI!
AFM - just busy with work and dog stuff and Evan of course lol Dog to the vet today, catching up on work, dog tracking for rescue and Evan wanted to play outside. He was so good for his haircut today! Even let them use the clippers with nothing more than a quivered lip! He also now says Thank You it comes out Ta Too! It's really stinkin' cute.
Katie - lol, are you sure he's not asking for a "tattoo"?? hahaha... just reminds me of when Sean started saying "Cold, brrrr!" this past winter and SIL asked if he could really be asking for a "cold beer" LOL. :biglaugh: Woohoo for him being good for his haircut! Sean is NOT a fan, haha..
ETA - my boob started hurting again (GRRR), same one in the same spot. hurts to hold cal, so he's sitting next to me in the bumbo like a big boy, haha. he's getting sleepy though, so his head is getting droopy.
also, I shopped the monster sale on childrensplace.com and bought a TON of clothes for the boys, mostly in bigger sizes for later because so much stuff was marked down so much... got 49 items! the box was all beat to hell, GRRRR... the original children's place tape was clearly ripped and someone had re-taped over it, and there was a huge gaping opening that had not been retaped and with all the little items, i was sure something was lost. i took a bunch of pics of the box before i opened it... but shockingly, it was all there. woohoo! between this and a previous purchase, sean has clothes for at least the next 2 or more years, hahaha...
Katie - better than what it sounded like Raymond was saying when he started saying "Thank you"! It came out "F--- you!"
Mary - Even if everything made it, I'd still complain if I had a box arrive looking like that!
AFM: a couple pics from the playground today. Raymond had fun pushing Alex in the swing. I love how much those two love each other!
and here's what happens when there are 6 little boys on the playground (and nobody else). They all try to play with the jeep!
The boys all napped at the same time again. Only for an hour, but it was still awesome. I didn't nap (too late in the day for me) but did make some progress switching our 0-3m clothes out for the 3-6m ones.
Oliver has the most ridiculous cowlicks. Every time I bathe him his hair reverts to a mohawk. see below.
Have such a verbal almost-2-year-old is hilarious. Just now Alex came over, having taken off one shoe and sock and said: "Take off shoe." I did. "Take off sock." I did. Then he gave me a super innocent look and said "Take off pants." Little goofball loves running around naked, but that's where I drew the line.
SO cute Virginia!! I think it's the pudge but Alex still looks like a baby to me Raymond, however, is looking very grown up. LOVE Oliver's hair! You have handsome boys.
I had a good doc apt today Next week is my u/s!!! WHOOHOO! I can't wait to find out I feel like it's all going really fast though. I knew it would, we're so busy and summer is so much fun. Sigh. Time flies! I gained like 5 pounds in 3 weeks though!! OY! honestly I think I came in a bit light 3 weeks ago but still I can't think of any dramatic eating changes - I did eat like crap in Chicago but there wasn't much choice. Sigh I think I need to work on walking more, I really only want to gain 10 more pounds....we'll see!
Virginia - Too funny about Alex, what good talking.
Katie - Sounds like your appointment went well, can't wait to hear the results of your U/S.
Got my U/S done on Wednesday, nothing eventful at the appointment, but the tech was emotionless from start to finish, she didn't even laugh at my joke about the probe for the internal test. I see my doctor for a physical and to get the results next Thursday. I am sure she will call ASAP if there is something serious.
Yesterday Natalie was moody, laughing and playing one moment and crying and throwing tantrums the next, even her nap didn't help. I'm happy that I am at work today cause I don't know if I could deal with that another day.
Dana is my picky eater, and lately she hasn't been eating a proper lunch, I got pretty angry at her this morning and yelled at her, which I haven't done in a LONG time. After DH and I talked to her I hope that she now understands why she needs to eat properly.
Proud to say I got my laptop up and running, with a little guidance from DH, but I did all the work. It seems to be running smoothly so far, so that's good. Today I'm working, updating the company website. (I do alot we are a small company)
Virginia - I LOVE the picture of Oliver looking up at the jellyfish! Such a neat shot! I love all the pictures you’ve posted. Raymond is SO big!
Katie - Next week?!? Ahh! Do you have any feelings toward boy or girl?
Erica - Do you recommend any books or DVDs on signing?
Jen - The fact that you’re self-taught in photography is impressive! I’ve thought about taking a class, but I can never find the time! Maternity pics at 20 weeks? Yeah, that’s early!
Mary - I LOVE the pictures you posted of DH and the boys! You’re such a great bargain shopper! I hit up The Children’s Place yesterday at the mall, but lots of Claire’s sizes were picked over already.
Sandra - What’s up with your kitty? I noticed your post on FB.
Amanda - I must have missed your post. Why did you have an ultrasound? I hope you’re okay!
AFM - Claire rolled from belly to back for the first time on Wednesday! We tried rice cereal on Wednesday night and she wasn’t a fan. I added some banana to it last night and it was a hit! I thought about doing baby led weaning, but Claire was just showing me that she needed more. (Waking up every 3 hours to nurse when she had been STTN.) I let Claire watch Baby Einstein for the first time yesterday and she was glued! She was “talking” to the computer and everything. So sweet! I’m in denial that she’ll be 6m in 2 weeks time!
Here's a post on Pamela from July 2011. I hope that Pamela and baby Aubree are okay!
I hope they're both okay! She's due the 4th, so it's not too early if they need to get baby out.
BTW: guess who got AF. Okay, so it's really breakthrough bleeding (no O), but still... at least it doesn't disqualify me from LAM because I'm still less than 8w PP.
Katie: GL on the weight gain. I'm going to end up gaining about the same as last time if not a little more (luckily, my gains slowed way down around 32 week or I'd really be in trouble!), and I did a lot more to prevent it this time. Oh well, it is what it is I suppose. Glad you had a great appt - can't wait to find out what you are having soon!
Virginia: LOL to Alex's comment about "Take off pants" Brekke knows so many words that it freaks me out sometimes (haha) but has the hardest time putting words together, so instead she says one word constantly until you repeat it back to her before saying the next one.
Mary: woohoo for great deals on clothes! Carters is having a big sale and I had an extra 25% off coupon so I got a ton of clothes for both kids for a steal. I can buy ahead for Brekke since I have a pretty good idea of what size she'll be in next winter/summer, but I don't know if our little guy is going to be big/little/average so I can only buy him stuff up to maybe 6 months at most.
Amanda: nice work getting the laptop fixed! Sorry about the lame u/s tech person. Good luck getting Dana to eat better & hope Natalie is feeling a bit more cheery today.
Laura: 6 months already?! crazy! Brekke loves baby einstein too, although she wouldn't really watch them until she was closer to one. She likes watching the same 2 or 3 over and over and over too. Nice job Claire on rolling!!
I'd be willing to bet big $ that Pamela has Aubree today or tomorrow. Her dr's seem gung-ho to induce at this point if any complications arose since she is getting induced anyway in less than 2 weeks so I'd be surprised if they don't at this point.
AFM: Went to work this morning, Brekke went swimming with MIL and had tons of fun. She learned the word "Deep" so she kept telling me that the pool was deep after I picked her up. DH has a triathlon tomorrow so that's we we're up to this weekend. I'm excited for Father's Day - we got him a GPS watch so he can track his runs better (his dad has one and he's been super jealous of it for a while now). My 36 week appt is Tuesday - should be "fun", first cervical check & GBS test (which I remember not being pleasant...?).
Ash - I can't believe your 36 week appointment is coming up! Wow! My GBS test wasn't unpleasant the first time. But with Cal, the doctor umm... Missed. You know how it's a rectal swab... He sorta missed and poked me with it and had to try again, LOL. Not so pleasant and a tad awkward. I found cervix checks more uncomfortable, but I was always excited to see if I had made any progress, so I didn't mind them too much.
Virginia - LOVE the mohawk, hahaha. No mohawks here... Just crazy curls for Sean and baldness for Cal (who will probably end up with curls once he has hair too... DH and I both do). Booooo for breakthrough bleeding. At least it's not "real" AF, hahah.. THAT would suck.
Laura - Woohoo for rolling! Glad she liked the bananas. I do imagine plain rice cereal to be a bit boring, hahaha.
AFM - Sean fell off the chair tonight (it was his own fault) and ended up with a gash in the back of his head that bled. He wouldn't really let me clean it, so the back of his head is still bloody. I got him to take some ibuprofen so he wouldn't be in pain when he's trying to sleep... That was a fight, but he finally decided he liked it and kept saying, "More medicine? More medicine?" Hahah..
I have to work tomorrow (boo), but Sunday we're going to a cookout with my family for Father's Day. I'll be happy to see my grandpa since he has been having all his health issues and I hope my cousin is there with her new baby that was born in May... I haven't met the baby yet and I really want to!
The IL's visited today and we went to eat at a place called Schmidt's. It was featured on Man vs Food if anyone watches it. It's a German sausage place, SOOO good. I took a nap after they left and Cal has literally slept ALL day, so I'm nervous about how sleep tonight will go.
Laura - I had a really long cycle, which is out of the ordinary for me, so to make sure everything is ok my doctor sent me for an ultrasound.
Good to hear that adding banana to the rice helped Claire enjoy it, did the food help with her sleep issues?
Virginia - Yuck on the bleeding, hope it's not AF.
Ashley - Glad to hear Brekke had fun at the pool. Hope your DH likes his fathers day gift.
Mary - Sorry to hear about Sean's accident, last time Natalie needed medicine she was asking for it everyday for a week, why can't adult medicine taste yummy, LOL.
Have fun at the barbecue, hope your cousin is there.
I've been getting the updates on Pamela's facebook last night she was back home everyone is doing ok but her protein levels are not good, she's looking at being induced if they don't improve at next appointment.
Tonight the girls are going to my mom's house so we can go see the Green Lantern, I'm excited.
Also have to go to the mall and pick up some things as well as get the dog cleaned and shaved this weekend.
Gotta run Nat is up and needs help on the potty.
Someone slap me. I've been reading the early 2012 BBs.
Amanda - have fun at the movies! I wish we had family closer to us, I would love a night out. I hope you can get Dana to eat better - maybe if you got her involved in the shopping/cooking or meal planning? I know that is a way to get younger kids eating better. Teenagers are a mystery to me though.
Mary - wow, your in-laws really don't let you have second to breathe on your own do they? While I would love family closer to us, I would not appreciate them here all the time. SOrry about Sean's fall!
Ash - 36 week appointment already? Wow, your pregnancy went really fast! I did my own swab so it wasn't bad at all. Cervical checks sucked though - I remember that.
Virginia - sorry about breakthrough bleeding. I am dreading the return of AF and am starting to get paranoid about when she will actually show up. I love all of the pictures! The shirts are great idea for going out. Mohawks on little babies are ADORABLE!!
Laura - my brother sent me a book called Sign with your Baby which is okay, but I just look up signs that I want to use on either ASLPro or My Smart Hands I know a few people who also use the signing times videos, but we haven't for now, maybe when she is older. Yay for rolling over!
Katie - do you haveo a boy/girl feeling? Can't believe it's already time to find out!!
AFM - DH is gone for the day, so Lily and I might try a new playground today. Tomorrow DH wants to go to brunch and then to a neighborhood to get some Maltese food - we'll see though.
Hi gals!! I just wanted to say Hi and thanks for the thoughts-- as much as I'm not "active" on here I stalk you all So anyway, thanks Laura for sharing, we're doing well.. and home. At this point I have urine/protein issues.. again, so we're waiting to see what comes on Tuesday's draw and we'll either induce or not that day, and if not that day, then for sure on Sunday (26th).. I'm hoping she'll come on her own sometime in between or before then.. And until then I'm going to enjoy this huge bowl of pineapple thanks again for the thoughts! Hope everyone is doing well
Pamela - Good luck... You'll be holding a baby soon no matter what!!
Virginia - You crack me up, scoping out the BB's already.
Erica - Did you go to a new park? Hope it was fun if so!
Amanda - hope you have fun at the movie!
AFM - Survived my long day 10.5 hours without pumping. I could've pumped... We really weren't busy... But stupid me, I forgot my battery pack and wasn't really somewhere where I could plug in. I was pretty uncomfortable by the time I got home, but I survived, then pumped enough milk to last the better part of a day, lol.
Cal is adorable tonight, laughing at me when I talk to him... Love baby laughs!!
Poor Sean had some diarrhea today and now his little butt is sore... I changed his diaper earlier and he was crying and saying "ouch". Poor little guy. DH said he thinks it was from eating too many dried apricots, lol.
I'll try to catch up tomorrow, just had to announce that we expanded our family today, got a kitten, he's a brown tabby and a polydactyl cat (he has an extra toe), absolutely adorable. The dog is pretty good with him, the older cat is really not happy.
Erica - You still haven't gotten your PP AF? I'm completely jealous! My AF reared her ugly head at 4.5m PP. She's currently visiting me now for the 2nd time and I'm ready to say goodbye to her again for another year or so. Too bad I'm not quite ready to get pregnant again... YET.
Mary - Poor Sean! That reminds me of an email from a parent saying that her student would be late to school because her DH gave him 3 bowls of Fiber One cereal the night before. That poor kid had the runs for days! That was the funniest email I've gotten from a parent!
Pamela - Come on baby Aubree!!! Waiting for her arrival! Can't wait to see pictures!
Virginia - I've totally been scoping out the early 2012 BBs too. I've been lurking in January 2012, sorta like I'm just reliving my pregnancy with Claire.
Amanda - I hope your old kitty comes around with the thought of the new little one! Post a picture, he sounds cute!
AFM - DH and I got a new (to us) car tonight! DH had been driving my 2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I had it since I was 15! That thing was a piece, but it held on for a long time. It's still running, but we thought it'd be good to go ahead and trade it in while we could still get SOMETHING for it. We upgraded to a 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe. It has lots of room and I love it!
Laura - yay for a new car! I saw the picture on FB! Nope, no PPAF here. I think it's because of the cosleeping and night nursing. I don't have any idea how often she actually nurses overnight, but I know she likes to sleep with a boob in her mouth. I'm pretty sure if I night weaned AF would be back.
Amanda - Pictures of the new kitty? COngrats on the addition! Hope your older cat warms up soon.
Mary - we didn't wind up getting to the park - the day was a mess - I hadn't planned on leaving the house as late in the afternoon as I did, so I wound up just going to the grocery store and for a walk with Lily. It's only a new to Lily playground though - I've been there with kids I worked with before. I know a lot of the playgrounds in the city - my friends think I am a freak.
Pamela - I am waiting for Aubree's arrival! Can't wait for pictures! I hope she comes before induction day!! Let's go Baby Aubree - people are anxious to meet you!
Virginia - we must have posted too close together - I missed what you wrote! LOL at checking out the new BBs I avoid them like the plague.
AFM - I saw a mommy with 7 week old twins yesterday - they were tiny and adorable and had that new baby smell.... sigh! I definitely have the fever. I'm going to have to negotiate a TTC date with DH soon, just having a date in mind might make it a bit better.
Gotta run - DH is making Lily scream (he must be using the computer and not paying enough attention to her).
Mary - Poor Sean and Cal sounds pretty adorable
Laura - YAY for a new car! I still haven't made a decision on vehicles so I'm driving my Hyundai Tuscon.....indefinitely until I can decide if we want a big SUV with 3rd row, a van, or another smaller SUV. BAH!
Erica - LOVE the Lily pics on FB she's such a beautiful baby! GL with the baby fever and TTC date
Amanda - YAY for a kitten!!! I'll have to stalk FB see if you post pics
Virginia - LOL step away from the BBs!! I still can't imagine you waiting until Oliver is 2 to TTC.....GL with that
Pam - I hope things are OK I haven't checked your BB or FB yet!
AFM -dog adoption event yesterday and I meet a new dog today. He was a cruelty case from last winter, found in a kennel in the freezing cocld the other dog w/him was dead. It was terrible. And b/c our laws are so screwed up it's taken until NOW for the ACO to have all the legal paperwork to release him to rescue legally. Sigh. I guess I should just be thankful he's been prosecuted. So hopefully I'll get the dog today, he has to be ok with my dogs for me to take him. Then just a lazy Father's Day/Sunday! I'm so thankful to have a DH who is such an active dad.....he and Evan are busy reading books on the couch
Happy Fathers day to all our LO's daddys
Erica: seeing brand new babies in public always got to me too
Katie: good luck with the new dog, poor thing!!
Laura: yay for a new car!
Mary: yay for baby laughs, boo to diarrhea for Sean, and glad you survived your long no-pumping day.
Amanda: hope you are having fun with your new kitty!
AFM: Had an interesting weekend. DH accidentally left my car unlocked the morning of his race (it was in a parking garage) and someone got into it and stole my ipod, 2 pairs of sunglasses (one were a nice $150 pair too of course & the others were like $5), and my point-and-shoot camera. They ironically left my GPS, radar detector, & debit card that happened to be in there so we think something scared them off mid-heist luckily. I'm glad that nothing was damaged & it is all replaceable stuff but I feel so violated! The dumb thing is that my camera shouldn't have been in there in the first place (I hardly ever use it since I got my nice one), but my mom had borrowed it for a trip & had just given it back to me to take the pictures off for her, so she lost all the pictures of her vacation too. People are so lame. On a side note, less than 4 weeks left! I have the fun GBS test tomorrow & get checked; I doubt I'll have started any progress but at least it'll be interesting to find out!
Crap, I typed a big long response earlier with personals and all, but our stupid internet crapped out when I went to submit it and I just realized now that it didn't post and I lost it. Grrrr. The gist... We visited my family for FD yesterday. My aunt had a party for the whole family. It was good. My poor grandpa isn't doing well with his liver issues. He keeps having episodes of hepatic encephalopathy which causes him to become confused, weak, and lethargic. He isn't compliant with his medication and diet which can prevent those flare-ups. So it's sad to watch him decline. He was still sweet and demanded to hold Calvin though. I was nervous about that because he was weak, but he did fine and my dad got some pics.
When we got back to my parents' house, we took the boys and the dogs on a walk to my old elementary school to let Sean play on the playground. As soon as we got there, he found a mud puddle and jumped in it, and then sat right on his butt in it. My parents said the damage was already done, so we might as well let him have fun with it, hahaha. So the swings had a puddle under each one and he just ran back and forth through them over and over. When we got back, he needed a bath and we washed his clothes/shoes, but it was cute.
Oh, I totally forgot to mention this!!
Apparently someone died in the bathroom of the walgreen's store just 2 miles down the road from the store where I used to work in IL. This store is in the GHETTO. They always had a uniformed police officer on duty. I worked there a few times. The whole area is ghetto though, and like I said, I only worked 2 miles away from there (and our store being 24-hr had a police officer on duty overnight). Anyway... I don't know the details yet of what happened, but just based on people's facebook comments, I'm assuming it was some sort of violent death... Stabbing or shooting or something. Someone commented that the police left the bathroom a mess. A manager commented that she was glad she wasn't there when his grieving mother came in and asked if she could see the bathroom where it happened. OMG. Sounds horrifying. I hope nothing like that ever happens when I'm working. I'm already sorta prone to PTSD...
Mary - YIKES!!! That sounds awful. I don't think I would be able to deal with something like that. So sad about your Grandpa... I hope he can get better about his meds/diet. Mud is great fun for kids and dogs.
Ash - sorry about your car. I can imagine the feeling of being violated. At least most of it is replaceable. GBS- vibes for you!
Katie - how did it go with the dog? Poor guy!
AFM - Lily wound up passing out in the middle of the day and not in a carrier - on the bed (we tried to get her to nap while we walked so we could still go where DH wanted to but she wouldn't) so our plans changed - we wound up taking her on the carousel in the park near us - she LOVED it! We sat on the benches but she wanted to check out the horses behind us - she was fascinated by them. After that we took a long walk in the park. It was nice, even if wasn't what we had planned.
I'm waiting for her to wake up from her nap now so we can go out - it's nice out right now and I think there is rain forecast for most of the week. We are leaving Friday morning for a few days - going to my mom's and I am going to my HS reunion. I don't know how I got suckered into this - my best friend from HS and I are going together - leaving our DH's home. It should be interesting.
Ashley - Sorry to hear you got robbed, call around the pawn shops most here are good at ensuring that stolen stuff gets returned.
Mary - Sounds like a fun weekend. I hope nothing bad happens at your store, especially with you on shift. Though my grandma worked in a good neighbourhood she worked for a bank from when she was 16 until she retired in her late 50's, the only times the bank was robbed was when she was in Florida on vacation.
Erica - Sorry that your DH didn't get to do what he wanted, glad you all had fun anyway. Have fun at your highschool reunion.
We are keeping our kitten seperate from the other animals for a few days to let them adjust to his smell. So now our older cat has forgiven me for bringing him home. I'll try to get some pictures up tonight or tomorrow, I have family on facebook that wants to see him.
Natalie's school had lost the books from her May book order which came in last week, I mentioned it to several of the teachers and one of them found them, apparently someone had opened them (likely a co-op student since they came in there have been many mistakes) and put them in the classrooms. The teacher that found them apologized and offered to order me another book to make up for what had happened, cause one of the books was slightly damaged, but I was just happy that she did the work and found the books Natalie would have done that damage anyway reading it the first time.
At work today, it's quiet just working on updating our website.
Ash, 36 week appt already?! Sorry to hear about your car, that really sucks.
Amanda, yay for a new kitty!! Glad the school found your books.
Mary, too cute about Sean in the puddles. Xander loves puddles too, but man does it get messy!
Katie, hope the new doggy works out!
Laura, horray for a new car! That's always so exciting.
I know there's more, but I'm running out of time. DH has to go back to work and I have to get the kiddo down for a nap! And I'm offffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff.........
Mary: That is just INSANE!!! I cant even imagine that.
Amanda: Good luck on the new kitty
Lauren: Hey there
Laura: Your new car looks awesome! I'm jealous!
Erica: What is it with men, computers, and not paying attention to babies? My DH does that too... baby will be crying or screaming and he's just staring at the computer screen!
Katie: Good luck with the new foster doggy, sounds like he needs a good home.
Ash: Yikes, sorry to hear about the theft I know the feeling of being "violated" too, when our house was attempted to be broken into in November, i've left the living room free standing light on ever since that date.
I think that's everyone, if I missed anyone, sorry!
AFM: So excited to go home in a couple weeks. I'm flying on the 4th of July, so I'm hoping that maybe there wont be a lot of people flying that day? I'll be gone nearly 3 weeks!! 2 weeks at home with my parents, then 3 days visiting my stepdad's parents in TN. They *really* want to see Andrew even though I havent seen them in 10 years. Kinda nervous about that since I've only "met" them 3 or 4 times. They are still family though
I read everything, but my laptop battery is dying.
But we're doing fine. Alex was sick over the weekend but is doing better now.
As promised, more on my Facebook account.
Amanda - Cute kitty! I hope your older cat comes around to the idea of the noob. I'm glad you got your books! My store was robbed once, but thankfully I wasn't there. It was in the middle of the night, and my store is 24-hr, so the older man that works midnights had to deal with that... Eek! Generally if you give them what they want, no one gets hurt... The thought of it still freaks me out though, especially now that I have babies.
Sandra - Add my DH to the "stare at the computer while baby is crying" group. I'll know that all Calvin wants is to sit up, but DH will have him laying flat on his back across his lap just trying to stuff a binkie in his mouth while he's messing on his laptop.
Enjoy your traveling!
Virginia - Booo for a sick kiddo! Hope everyone is doing okay now.
Erica - Glad you had a good day. Good luck with the HS reunion thing, lol. My 10-year reunion is at the end of August, and I have NO desire to go. I was hoping I had to work that weekend, but I'm actually off, so I don't even have that excuse, hahaha. I'll come up with another one. It's basically going to be a kid-free drunk-fest, and I'm just SO not into that anymore...
Everyone else - Hello!
AFM - Just having a small get-together with our parents and maybe our grandparents this weekend for Sean's birthday. I just wasn't really feeling the huge party this year. Everyone already dumped a lot of money into his play set and he's not really to the age where he'd miss having a big party anyway, so we're just having a little cook out and will let him play outside if the weather is nice (we're expecting lots of rainy days this week, so we'll see). I'm going to attempt to make his cake (eek). It won't be pretty, but hopefully it'll taste good. I am NO Betty Crocker, Martha Stewart, etc. I wish, lol...
ETA: I feel like I have another plug in my right boob. GRR! This time it is in a different area than the previous two. I just feel like I'm falling apart a bit. My boobs have been all off-kilter for about the past week or so and it's stressing me out. I'm even more nervous about this one because it seems to be noticeably affecting how much milk I can get out on my right side. My right is ALWAYS a bigger producer than my left, and the only time I've ever been able to pump more out of the left was when I had mastitis. And now the last two times I pumped, I got more out of the left. So I'm a little nervous, grrrrr......
amanda - adorable kitten! I am such a sucker for brown tabbies.
Mary - hope the duct clears and the party goes well!
AFM: now Raymond is sick, but at least he's still mostly cheerful in spite of his fever. But, it means no school for him tomorrow. And since DH is working late all week (except tomorrow when we have evening dentist appointments) I was really looking forward to having Raymond out of the house for a bit! Goal tonight is dinner no later than 6 and the kids in bed by 7:30. Raymond's sick and Alex barely napped, so hopefully they'll go down easily then I can go to bed early... or wait up for DH to get home.
ETA TMI I've been having watery CM the past few days. My choices are 1. start preventing or 2. Assume it's just my body fooling with me and keep trusting LAM. I think I'm going with the second. I mean, I'm 8w PP and EBFing. Seriously. Come on. My body must just be messing with me like last time. Besides, in the past it has taken 3-4 cycles after my first O to get a decent LP, so even if I did O we should be okay.
I better not regret this in a couple weeks.
I had to laugh at your discussion about HS reunions; my DH has his 10-year the week before I'm due so I'm dreading having to go and not-so-secretly hope to be in labor so we can't! LOL!
My 36 week appt was pretty uneventful. Good BP & baby HB, GBS test, measuring a week ahead still, and am "half a centimeter" dilated whatever that means! So no worries about having a baby anytime in the near future. Finally preregistered at my hospital today too so that is nice to have out of the way. Now I'm just trying to figure out what else I need for this baby so I can get it all done and just enjoy my last few weeks (or at least be able to spend it cleaning ;)).
Ash - I hope baby helps you skip the reunion! Oliver got DH out of a frustrating project at work.
So... it's 6:55pm and the 2 older boys are in bed! I need to empty the dishwasher, wash the dishes, put away some laundry, and hang out with Oliver until he's ready to sleep. Fun. Maybe he and I will take a shower together or something.
two recent Oliver pics.
Virginia: Oliver seems to have a dark complex than your other 2 (not to mention the dark hair). Such cute pics! Nice work on getting the kids in bed when you wanted to!
Okay, Ash, you got me thinking. A lot of people have commented that Oliver looks darker than the others, so I went back to old pics.
Raymond, Alex, and Oliver all just shy of 2m
and Raymond and Alex at 22m
Apparently they go from dark to really blond and then Raymond seems to be getting darker again.
BTW: Raymond and Oliver look just like DH did as a baby. Alex looks like my mom's side of the family, which is weird because I look just like my dad.
Funny about Oliver looking darker... Cal has been much darker complected than Sean all along. I wonder if it will stay that way or if he'll turn fair like Sean. Sean has been this way all along, so I'm inclined to think he's just more like me and Sean is more like DH. My DH's family is a large part Irish and my DH is light-skinned with reddish hair. I'm just SLIGHTLY darker (but still pale) and light brown hair. Overall I'm a little darker than DH though, and I think Cal will be like me.
DH and I are both fair with blond hair and blue eyes, but DH is a little darker all around. I'm super pale.
DH worked a 15hr day yesterday and today looks like it'll be similar.
Eek... 15-hr days do NOT sound like fun. The most I ever have to do is 14, and I've avoided that like the plague ever since Sean was born. I complained Saturday about working 9 hours, lol.
Sean is over in Calvin's face right now, and Cal is slobbering all over his face and laughing like he thinks Sean is SO funny, hahaha. It cracks me up... Sean ALWAYS makes Cal smile and laugh. Little man loves his big brother.
ETA: I had to laugh about this. Last night when I was leaving work, I needed to buy some milk and stuff on the way out. So I had one of the girls up front ring me up and she was asking about the baby and proceeded to tell me that she never knew I was pregnant. She saw my belly getting a little bigger but just thought I was gaining some weight, hahaha. Wow.
ETA x 2: I found 6 OPK's and 1 cheapo HPT in the cabinet under the bathroom sink. Not planning to use them anytime soon, but I was excited to find them for when the time is right!
Mary - wow, you definitely looked pregnant to me! Yay for finding some OPKs and HPTs!
Raymond is getting so grown up. He was playing by himself and I hear some clonking noises, so I called "Raymond, what are you doing?" He yelled back "I am busy right now!" When I went to check he was putting bouncey balls through the catdoor at the top of the basement steps and letting them bounce down. Whew.
Just a quick post with no personals tonight. I am wiped out - Lily is boycotting sleep the past 3 nights (she was up until 12:30 on Monday night) and skipped a nap today too - I am going to pass out soon. Just wanted to say hi.
Hope you get some sleep soon, Erica!
DH's schedule has been insane this week. I'm exhausted. Oliver has done a 7.5 hour stretch the past two nights, but DH has come home in the middle of it, so I've woken up and had trouble falling back asleep. It's kind of overwhelming having the kids all day long without seeing DH, but we're managing.
And somehow I have baby fever in spite of the challenge. I can wait a year. I need to just keep telling myself that, like I have been for almost 2 months now. I think it would make life so much easier if we have a longer gap this time. Really. DH still isn't convinced he wants more... but admits we'll probably have more.
Virginia - Your boys seem to look very much alike, though Raymond and Oliver have similar skin tones.
Mary - Odd that your co-worker didn't realize you were preggo, I could tell. Yay for finding the OPK's and HPT's.
Erica - Hope you get some rest, sorry to hear Lily is not sleeping well.
I have my physical today, I am sure all the tests I had came back clean since my doctor hasn't called me to tell me about it or to get me in.
I'm tired and my allergies are acting up because of the wet cool weather.
Natalie has a cold but other then that the girls have been well.
DH's team at work is in the final stages of a project and he's also been asigned a new project so he is BUSY with work, thankfully since most of the work needs a quiet place he's going to get to work in his office at home.
Amanda - sorry about Nat's cold, DH's work, and your allergies. I'm glad it sounds like your tests were fine.
AFM: The ILs took the boys and let me nap. :woohoo: They love to help out, but I'm so hesitant to call. I don't like feeling like I'm saying I can't handle it.
I got my nubunz today! I'm going to try some and wash them and make sure everything seems good. If there are no disasters I might order some more because, remarkably, they fit Oliver and Alex! I had completely given up on finding any cloth diapers which fit Alex! The kid is in size 6 disposables.
Virginia - everyone deserves a little break here and there! Glad you got one! The boys really do look alike. I wonder what my next boy will look like!
Erica - hope you got some sleep!
Amanda - sorry DH is so busy that's always a bit hectic!
Mary - Wow she didn't know at all? haha Gotta love people to some I'm huge to others I'm not even showing
Hi to everyone I'm missing! I've been crazy busy with work and catching up. As my other thread said baby #2 is a little boy. I'm excited about everything but NAMING him LOL So far we have one name we both kind of like - Rory - we were watching golf the other day and the young golfer Rory was crushing it and I commented that I liked the name and DH to my shock said he did too. So that will fall on the list. I'm still a fan of Callum shortened to Cal but DH is luke warm on that. We have 22 weeks to figure it out! I do feel like the pregnancy is moving quickly.....I can't wait to have a little one....
GL with a name, Katie! I don't know what the heck we'll do if we end up with a 4th boy someday. Oh my.
