It's June!
Jen, It's your month! I can't wait to "meet" your little boy!

AFM: I guess we're done with preventing. Oh my. We have a crazy month planned, aside from that.

Yay for June! I made it to my birth month this time around! Lol

Virginia - GL with no prevention! Wink

I've been reading, like always, I'm just usually too lazy to think of a response. Wink But I've been following everyone!! I will try to be around more!

Happy Baby Month Jen!!!

I just caught up on May I was behind!

Amanda - :bigarmhug: I've actually done a good bit of research on adoption. There's a lot to it - and a lot of good books. But the challenges are definitely very different than bio with attachment and potential delays (be it institutional or due to lack of bio care in older children).

Mary - yay for the days off! The pillow thing is what we do now Smile I'll stick with it and the monitor.

AFM - been busy as usual. I worked Friday which isn't my norm and this week is a normal week but then I travel 2 weeks in a row. I'm generally swamped. And kids are crazy as ever. Rory is trying HARD to crawl. He can get up on his knees then loses it. It's pretty cute!

Katie - Rory's almost crawling? Oh my, he's 6 months, isn't he! Good luck. That's when it really gets crazy. Wink

Jen - I wouldn't worry about being lazy. As long as you tell us after LO comes!

AFM: Oliver is starting to stand and walk. Took him long enough! He's been cruising since about 8m but didn't want to let go.
DH thinks I'm already pregnant (I don't, although my chart might be my prettiest ever... for 4dpo ;)). Yesterday I actually did some things on our housecleaning to-do list. Among other things, I spent 4 hours cleaning and organizing the boys' closets (starting at 7am!). He said "you're nesting!" and I told him I was just getting stuff done. The closet stuff needed to be done before we have another baby so we can find the baby stuff and won't get done once I'm exhausted and sick and then huge. I'm glad I did it after we decided to try because looking at newborn clothes sets off baby fever like crazy!
And then he decided to cut up a watermelon and I came down from upstairs and mentioned I could smell it from up there. He just gave me an "what did I tell you?" look. In my defense, it was a very fragrant watermelon. Wink

Happy birth month Jen!

Virginia - Too funny about your DH and looking for symptoms.

I know there can be issues with addoption, remember we took DH's teenaged niece in for 10 months. Part of why would love to adopt a 2 year old, less baggage, yes I know there could be issues but they are still so open to learning at that age and issues can be worked on.

*AFM*

My baby fever didn't get helped this weekend a friend of ours announced that they are expecting this December. I also know that my BFF will likely get pregnant quick after her wedding in August. Really not going to be a good year for keeping my fever down, especially since I already have it. To top it I am constantly hearing from my co-worker that her DIL has trouble taking care of her boys (4 and 11 months), and that she can't handle it alone, making me wonder why she gets to have kids and I don't. Stuipd V! Maybe DH and I will become crazy cat people instead, there is a kitten at the pet store around the corner that is such a sweetie DH and I adore him! So wish we could take him home.

Other then the wanting a baby/kitten in the home I've been doing pretty good. Had a nice relaxing weekend with no real plans. Some friends came over for dinner last night and we sat and talked it was nice. Today I made a second batch of wine jelly.

Last weekend I got my dress for my BFF's wedding, I got this in a deep red (her colour choice).

Amanda - Pretty dress! You'll have to share some pics. Smile

Virginia - Too funny about your DH finding symptoms. Can't wait to see if there's a new BFP on the board in about a week. Smile

Katie - Good luck with two (almost) mobile babies! It's about to get very fun, hahahah...

AFM - I worked today and my week of vacation began at 4pm, woohoo! I took a mini power nap because the kids were asleep when I got home. DH cooked steaks on the grill for supper, and now... Both kids are playing quietly together with train track stuff on the floor. They NEVER play quietly together. It's amazing!

Virginia - OoOoOo I can't wait to hear! I think you'll totally rock 4 kiddos! I can't wait for those pictures Smile

Amanda - I forgot about your niece! A friend adopted a 3 year old from China recently. It's a very different experience but he's learning and catching up incredibly quickly. I have never brought up adoption to DH but it has crossed my mind recently (hence researching it). There's so much to consider with it though. I'm sorry baby fever will be coming on heavy with all the friends Sad SO hard!

Mary - Yay for 2 boys playing calmly crazy! Enjoy vacation!!

Rainy lazy weekend here. I didn't clean nearly as much as I should have but it was nice to relax. Rory is LOVING his limited mobility already and I'm noticing a real improvement in him. He's willing to play on the floor for extended periods, not as much crying and crabbing. It's REALLY nice.

I was talking to my BFF yesterday, she told me she is holding off on getting pregnant until after her surgery in December (reconstructive stuff due to a burn accident). As happy as I would have been for her getting pregnant, I am kinda relieved that she's waiting.

Amanda - sorry about the baby fever. I think you should totally get another kitten! I don't know what I'll do when the kids don't constantly need me anymore. I'd get a dog, but DH really dislikes them.

Mary - yay for the boys playing together! It'll happen more and more often.

Katie - I'm glad Rory has gotten less clingy.

Jen - any news?

Lauren - how are you doing? Update if you get a chance!

AFM: temp jumped today and my chart looks a lot like my pregnancy charts... but it also looks like 2 of my not-pregnant charts. I really don't think I'll have a BFP this month (which is fine, because we're going to a kiddie amusement park in a month and I'd rather not know I'm pregnant when we go ;))
Oliver spent all day yesterday practicing. He walked laps around the living room. It added to the general craziness since he was constantly moving, but it sure kept him happy. His sleep has been crap the past few night. I hope that improves soon.

ETA: I'm so excited. Raymond's school hired a male teacher. This is good for Raymond, but it's great for Alex. Alex is going next year and given the choice he always interacts with the men in his life instead of the women. If we get together with friends he only talks to the dads (sometimes even instead of me!) And I think there's a good chance Alex will be in the guy's class. Smile

Jen - happy baby month!

Katie - glad you worked out the co-sleeping situation, for now anyway.

Virginia - your DH is too funny looking for symptoms! I'm excited to see what happens in a few days!

Mary - YAY staycation! I wish we would've done that instead! hahaha.

Amanda - sorry about the baby fever. Cute dress! So how was that wine jelly?

AFM, we got back a few days ago from a week away. OMG traveling with Xander is such a huge PITA!!!! He whines a lot after about an hour in the car, though it wasn't as bad as that one time... He did better than I thought he would, but it was still stressful. Plus we only stayed places for 2-3 days, so there was a lot of packing and unpacking and loading/unloading the car over and over again. Anyway, so we had fun at the zoo and at different parks and stuff, and Xander loved the hotel pools (of course). But overall it was way too exhausting! I think we're done with long trips like that til the kids are older... I'll do a week at my parents since we're just staying put, but not a week of a little here... A little there... Bah!

In other news, I still haven't gained any weight (yay), but I am definitely looking "fuller." haha. You all saw the pics, it's about the same I'm sure. All my pants are tight and the bella band is in official use (or yoga pants). Most of my shirts are unflattering, too, since they're all fitted. Boo. Won't be much longer til I bust out the maternity gear!! Also, I puked for the first time yesterday. Oh goody. It seems to be a stand alone episode at this point, I think because of the super vinegary dinner I'd eaten the night before. But it was all bile since I hadn't eaten yet. Ewwww!

Now I'm just trying to catch up around the house! Of course my sister just told me she might come visit this weekend. D'oh! I need a weekend off people!

I'm still here!

Sorry, this is brief and totally selfish about me, but I thought I'd update real quick! I need to go take a nap, though, because a.) my sleep sucks recently, and b.) I've had a horrible sore throat for the last few days and I will DIE if I get sick right now!

Anyhow, I had my 38 week appointment today! It was my first check (I declined last week), and I am 1cm and 60% effaced! So, there is some, although small, progress. Wink She said she could feel his head, which is awesome! Last week he was sitting on my pubic bone (um, yes, ouch) and after one chiro appointment he's in my pelvis! So yay! Smile

Okay,

Virginia - Hopefully everything works out for you with the schooling next year.

Lauren - Sorry to hear that Xander is not doing so well with the travel, Natalie was soooo used to travel from hockey that we've never had issues.

Jen - Good to hear from you sounds like baby wants to keep baking, guess that's a good thing.

Looking for some positive vibes, my grandmother has had a form of cancer for years that attacks the immune system, she's done really well and has lived almost 10 years longer than expected. Because the amount of treatment and chemo she has had over the years she is unable to receive any more treatments, any more will be too harsh on her body. Yesterday doctors found a mass in her chest they are unsure what it is and are doing a biopsy of it, I am just hoping that it is not cancer since she is unable to receive treatment please send positive thoughts out for my grandma.

Jen - sounds like a good appointment. Are you going to try a VBAC still? Did they do another u/s to check the cord? Try hard not to get sick. I was sick when Oliver was born and it sucked. I'll send you healthy vibes!

Amanda - I hope things turn out okay for your grandma.

Jen - Sending you healthy vibes! I was up all night the night before Calvin was born with nausea and diarrhea. I was hoping it was some sign of impending labor, but it wasn't... It sucked. I made them give me phenergan when they started my induction because I felt like such crap.

Amanda - Hoping for no more cancer for your grandma. Sad

Lauren - Traveling with the LO's is SOOOO much work. It's so fun and I love watching them experience new things, but holy cow, they just require SO much work, hahah.

AFM - OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG... So I had a strange moment of weakness last night and tried to convince DH that rightthisminute was the perfect time to try for baby #3. Now don't get TOO excited because of all the "omg's" hahaha... We're still preventing. BUT... The exciting part is that he said we could start trying again January 1st!! I'm still not 100% convinced that the timing would be best then, but I'm excited that he's all about it. Smile I might prefer to put it off until maybe July 1st or something, but we'll see.

Amanda - lots and T&P's for your grandma...

Mary - hahaha, I love your moments of weakness! I'm assuming you meant July '13, right?

Jen - I hope you don't get sick before you have the baby! That would be awful!!

AFM - still playing catch up from our trip. I'm finally almost done with laundry (one more load) and the house doesn't look like a tornado blew threw it anymore... I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend at home with zero plans! I need to do some work in the garden, so hopefully it'll be nice out.

I can feel my uterus pretty good now. My lower belly is all hard instead of squishy. I also felt some questionable movements/squiggles in there that I don't think were gas, but at the same time I'm still not sure. I'm sure I'll know for sure in the next week or so...

I told Xander there's a baby in my belly and now he's obsessed. He keeps saying "baby out please!" haha

hahaha, sorry if I was confusing. DH meant we could start TTC as of January 1st, 2013. I'm still not sure I want to TTC again that soon (less than 7 mos), so I'm thinking maybe we'll start TTC again more like July 1st (of next year)... So somewhere between 6-12 months from now, we'll probably start TTC. It just seems so soon!!

Lauren - Yay for being able to feel your uterus! LOL. I always loved it when I could start feeling mine. I could never feel mine until kinda late for some reason, like 14-15 weeks. Weird.

Virginia - As for our house plans, so far we're just saving, saving, saving. I would have the house listed for sale already if I weren't so lazy, lol. The thought of cleaning it up is daunting. The thought of keeping it clean with two little ones is just torture. We're still hoping to list it for sale early next Spring or whenever I find a job in the area where we want to live, whichever comes first. I'm really holding out for a transfer within my current company because I have built up great maternity benefits finally, and I don't want to have to wait for FMLA and whatnot if I start a new job...

LOL, I'm never going to make it to July 1, 2013 if I keep seeing things like this... On my facebook, I "like" a photographer. I don't even know who she is really... Just apparently liked her stuff at some point. So anyway, she has the most AWESOME picture up today. She did a photo shoot with parents-to-be after their BIG ultrasound. They had the ultrasound tech write down the sex of the baby and put it in an envelope without telling them what it was. Then they gave the envelope to the photographer and she got to surprise them with the gender and photograph it. She hid a blanket in a box and had mom keep her eyes closed while dad opened it. So she took pictures of dad's face when he saw the blanket... Then she had the dad wrap the mom in the blanket and had the mom open her eyes to see it. SUCH a cool idea, I love it! Things like this spark the fever for me, lol...

Lauren - how exciting! I felt movement around 11-12 weeks... barely. Smile

Mary - what a cool idea! Those must be amazing photos. Next time, I'm totally having them write it down and put it in an envelope. DH wasn't able to be there with Oliver and it was kind of weird without him.

I'm back in the mode to hold off on TTC. Not because I really WANT to wait, but I totally forgot about something... My parents want us to take a trip with them next year to Yellowstone. I really, really want to go... Ugh, they want to drive... We've driven out there before and it's like a 24-28 hour drive (I forget exactly). That ought to be interesting with a ~4-yr-old and ~2.5-yr-old. But I really want to go because I love it there. I definitely don't want to be pregnant for it though, especially after how rocky my pregnancy with Calvin was. Anyway, it's a good excuse for us to just keep saving our money. Smile (We'll see if I change my mind in a few months)

In other news, I'm sick with a cold. Sad It's miserable and it sucks even worse as it has put a damper on my last two days of vacation. I hope the kids don't get sick...

so, I have some exciting news!

Nope, I'm not pregnant, but my older sister is! Yahoo
I'm going to be an AUNT! Finally! Raymond is completely over the moon at the idea of another baby in the family. And I was told with the right timing to string DH along and make him think I was telling him I was pregnant before I told him the new baby we're getting will be his niece/nephew. She's due beginning of Feb (or end of Jan). Smile I'm so hoping she can make girls. I want a little girl, even if it's my niece instead of my daughter.
That took care of my waffling. Now I'm ready. I'm glad I won't be due right before her or right around the same time, though. She needs a few months in the spotlight after baby comes. We're on for this next cycle, though. Nothing crazy, but I'm sure we'll get at least one try in.

Oh, and I drove past a yard sale yesterday and spotted an old wooden rocking horse. A BIG one. So now we have a rocking horse sized for Raymond or bigger. I can sit on the thing comfortably. DH wasn't thrilled, but Raymond sure was.

Oh my goodness, I so darn excited I forgot my big question.
BIL's birthday is on Father's Day. Since he's a father-to-be I kind of want to get him something special, but I have no clue what that might be. Any suggestions for a first time dad (he has a lot of little cousins, though)? DH is thinking about it, too.

Mary - a big family vacation like that seems like a good reason to hold off just a little bit longer to me! Sorry about the cold, those are always the worst this time of year!

Virginia - congrats to your sister! I'm not sure on the gift front, I've always been horrible with those types of gifts! I don't even know what to get my own DH - I think I might set Xander loose in the dollar store and tell him to pick out something for daddy. haha.

AFM - Not too much going on here. I can't believe I'm 11 weeks already. Crazy how fast time goes! I'm so close to the second trimester already! We've told our family and most of our close friends, but don't plan on going Facebook public or public to the rest of the world (neighbors, etc) until after my dr's appt on June 22. I want to KNOW everything is okay in there! I hate that my appt is so dang late, the nurse had me make it "around 12 weeks" and the receptionist made it for almost 13! Ugh! Doesn't she know I'm going crazy here? haha

Virginia - YAY for being an aunt!! I'm seriously dying for that announcement from my newly-married SIL. I sorta hope the same, that she'll make girls... But at the same time, it would be fun if they had boys to play with my boys. I suppose I'd be happy with either, like with my own babies. Smile

Lauren - I can't believe how long they're making you wait for an appointment, jeez. Why don't they just have you give them a call when you go into labor? Wink

AFM - Back to work today and still sick with this stupid cold. At least it should be gone (or at least much better) by the weekend. I really hope the kids/DH don't get it. I sorta question if Calvin has it already, though... We'll see. The kids let us sleep in until almost 10 this morning, which was awesome! I definitely needed some good sleep right now.

If Xander ever slept in til 10 I would be a nervous wreck! I would assume he were dead or something! lol. But he gets up at 6-6:30 every day, so that's a huge difference. Glad you guys got some extra sleep in!!

lol at the labor comment. Yeah, it seems that way now... But once I hit the end of pregnancy I'll be in there every week, so I'll enjoy my freedom for now. haha. Since I use my family practitioner instead of an OB, I think they hold off on the first appt because they're so busy. I mean honestly, what do they even do in the early appts? NOTHING. Unless you're having some sort of complication, but if not, there's nothing they can do! So I get it, I'm just impatient. haha.

Virginia - Sorry to hear about your sisters baby :(.

*AFM*

Went to bed early last night cause I was TIRED, woke at about 8:30am was good until about noon then I started getting sicker and sicker. At this point my head is throbbing, I am freezing (even though it is warm here), I have no appetite and am exhausted. And of course it's just me home alone with a 3 year old. Sad

Virginia - :bighug: So sorry to hear about your sister... That's terrible!! Sad Ughhhh...

Amanda - Sorry you're not feeling well. I'm sickly too, and I was just telling DH that I couldn't imagine trying to deal with the kiddos alone while sick. I think Sean is getting it too now, ugh... Not 100% sure, but he just fell asleep at 7pm which is way early for him, and he never falls asleep without prompting unless he's sick. Sad

AFM - Calvin's 15-mo appointment is tomorrow morning. I totally forgot to make it... I sat around for a while, expecting to get a reminder call, and never received one. So I called and duh, I had never made one, hahaha... I usually always make the next appointment whenever I leave the office from each appt, and I think their computers were down last time so they asked me to call back later.. then i totally forgot. so i called today and luckily they had a cancellation for tomorrow. then i scheduled sean's 3-yr appt for july and scheduled his allergist appt for august... too many doctor visits!!

Virginia - sorry to hear about your sister...

Amanda - sorry you're sick. Being home alone with a toddler when sick is the worst! I rely on TV a lot during those days! heh

Mary - too bad Sean seems to be getting sick, too. I can see myself doing the same thing with Xander's next appt. I didn't set it up last time, so I need to remember to set one up around October...

AFM - I'm determined to get my house organized once and for all! I'm so sick of clutter and toys and messes. I made a daily cleaning chore list and plan to follow it religiously. I am in my house all. the. time. and just can't stand it being messy anymore. At least Xander is old enough to help. He loves to "help Mommy" and will follow me around dusting and stuff. Okay, so he's not really helping ME, but it's keeping him happy. haha.

Amanda and Mary - hope everyone feels better!

Lauren - good luck organizing! I've been trying but it never seems to happen. I hope you have better success.

AFM: I visited my sister this morning. She said the doctor thought it looked like there was also an intrauterine twin which didn't develop. But, she's doing really well emotionally and recovering physically. They're thinking of getting a puppy this summer (was in the plans soon anyway). I have no idea what to do about TTC. DH still wants to. I'm not planning to wait until she's pregnant again because that could be a long time. But... can I get pregnant now and not seem like a complete jerk?

ETA: Because of some things coming up in the next few years, we have to either TTC in the next 4 months or wait at least 18 months. Otherwise I'd just put it off a little bit.

Amanda - feel better!

AFM: DH wants to go for it and, honestly, given our plans we probably should. But, I've lost my enthusiasm (at least for now) so I guess we're JLIH. I don't think I'll bother with OPKs and we'll see if I feel like charting. Whenever it happens we'll be keeping pretty quiet about it for a while.

Virginia - Sorry about the TTC awkwardness. It's just a sucky situation all around, really. Blaaaahhh... I'd probably go for it too and just keep hush-hush for a long time if I were in your shoes. Hopefully she could be pregnant again by the time you started to show.

Amanda - I hope you're feeling better. I'm on the mend, thankfully. Sean is a snotty mess. No real sign of Calvin catching it yet, knock on wood.

AFM - You guys will NOT BELIEVE what happened to me last night. I was supposed to work till 10pm, but stuck around until 10:30 because there was a big ordeal going on. Then on the way home, I was stopped at a red light pretty close to home. It was just me and one other car stopped at the light and the other car was beside me and they had pulled up farther than me, so I was just a little behind them. As we sat there, I kept seeing the driver moving around all erratically. It freaked me out, so I double-checked that my doors were locked. I had my phone poised to call the cops in the event that he should approach me, because I couldn't just pull away, as it was at a huge intersection with lots of lanes and the speed limit is also 50, so I'd probably get creamed if I tried to pull away in the event of an emergency. So I continued to watch, convinced that the guy was either on drugs or having a seizure. Either way, I didn't want to be driving right by him, you know. Then... He started to open his door. I was dialing 9-1-1, just waiting to push the button to call. Finally, the light turned green and I started to hurry away because I just wanted to be away from him. As I drove past him, I saw what was going on... The man was freaking being ATTACKED by another man in the vehicle!! He had the door slightly open because he was trying to get out, but the other man has his arms around his neck. The victim was looking right at me and flailing his arms as if to say "help me"..

So I pulled off into a parking lot of a grocery store just on the other side of the intersection and called 9-1-1 and told them what I saw. Of course they asked me the license plate number and description of the car, which I didn't get. So, I turned around to see if they were still there and I didn't see them. I told her I thought they were gone, then I realized they were sitting there with the headlights off. So I told the lady on the phone what was going on. I went down a little unused access road behind a couple food places/banks to try to come up behind them again, but they had pulled in there! It's just a one-way road and I was totally going the wrong way, but I didn't care. The car saw me coming and pulled back out onto the road we started out on, but this time we were facing the opposite direction. I followed them and they pulled off into some random driveway on the left side of the road. I slowed way down and was able to give the 9-1-1 operator his license plate number, but for the life of me, I don't know what type of vehicle it was. It was dark which didn't help... I couldn't really even give an accurate color. It was a smallish SUV or maybe a crossover of some sort, but I wasn't familiar with that type of car. But anyway, she said she'd send an officer out. They eventually turned around AGAIN (so heading back the way we were facing originally), so I turned around too and just headed home and I did see them again pulled off to the opposite side of the road in the driveway at some other random house. OMG, CRAZY. I'm dying to know what was going on, what was the motive, did they know each other or was it a total random thing like carjacking a guy at a red-light, I have no idea. It's just nuts..... I'm traumatized. I had to call the cops and do what I did, though, because I would want someone to do the same for me. I would hate to think that someone saw me being attacked and just drove idly by...

Mary - that's insane!! I hope the guy in the car is okay... I'm glad you called. A lot of people wouldn't have - or they would've called and said "I don't know" about the license plate and stuff.

Virginia - sorry TTC got a little awkward. I agree, wait to tell everyone so a little time has gone by, if you happen to get pregnant right away.

Amanda - sorry you're still sick.

AFM - I can't believe I'm going to be 12 weeks tomorrow! That's craziness! I don't feel like it's been that long already... I hurt my knee a couple days ago doing kickboxing and it still hurts like heck. Xander and I are very active and walk around A LOT, so I never get to rest it. Ugh. What I need to do is park my butt on the couch and ice it on-and-off for an entire day, but there's no way I'd ever be able to manage that! Even if DH were home...

Mary - that is crazy! I'm glad you called and I hope he got help. Weird. have you looked for any news about it?

Lauren - 12 weeks? wow.

AFM: I'm feeling a little better about things. But, let me give a little more background... it probably sound like I was overreacting a little to my sister's loss. She had emergency surgery as a kid which likely screwed up her reproductive system. She's known that for years. it's probably why it was ectopic. There's a high chance her other tube is blocked, so this was probably her one shot at pregnancy without high tech interventions. She has said in the past she doesn't want to ever pursue fertility treatments and would rather adopt. So, this might have been her only pregnancy ever. I love being pregnant and having my own kids and it's so hard to see her face the decisions she has ahead of her. I know she'd be thrilled to have another nephew or a niece, but I wish with all my heart I could give her a new start and a healthy pregnancy of her own.
So, that's why I'm so blue about it all. It's just a horribly sucky situation all around.

I'm so behind!

Virginia - I'm SO sorry! What a sad situation. It sounds like you have a wonderful strong family though and your sister will get support in whatever path she takes. I'm sure it will take time for her to figure it all out invitro, adoption etc it has to be overwhelming.

Amanda - hope you are feeling better!

Lauren - I can't believe you're almost in 2nd trimester!

Mary - Between your work drug busting and your 911 calls on the street you are a regular arm of the police!

Rory is officially and completely mobile! It's still more of a worm than an all out hands and knees crawl but he gets around quickly. Especially to see whatever Evan is doing. Evan is working out this whole sharing bit. I've been on the road for work. I'm tired, my house is a total disaster and I got to spend last night at the e-vet for 4 hours with one of my dogs. Sigh. 4 hours and $400 later we were home in time for bed. She's fine - she got her head stuck in the slats of the picket fence that splits our yard and when she started yelping one of the other dogs jumped on her back and bit her. It sounds horrible but it's one of those realities of living in a pack - dogs respond on instinct and a yelping screaming dog often triggers attack (which is actually usually how babies end up killed by dogs - uneducated owners leave them in reach of the dog and the baby screams or cries and the dog responds on instinct). I got to them in a minute but Chloe was pulling one way trying to get out of the fence the dog on her pulled the other way and she got a 3" gash. She's all put back together and everyone is fine again and I'm just tired!

Katie - poor dog! I'm glad everything's okay.

AFM: I realized I have to think about this differently. My sister could have her own kids if she wanted. She could do IVF or I'd be a surrogate. But, she has a plan (and maybe it'll change from what she said before). But it sounds like she's thinking "well, if my body doesn't want to do it, why go through all the effort, expense, risk, and possibly heartbreak? Why not just take in a baby someone didn't want? I'll still love the baby." I should be really proud of her for having the strength to make that kind of decision, not sad because I'd make a different one. And, yes, she has complete support from our family and her DH's.

Grrr, I typed a response and then both boys clobbered me and closed my tab.

Virginia - I didn't think you were overreacting. It's a crappy, depressing thing to go through... It's even worse knowing more of her story. Good luck to her from here forward with adoption or whatever she decides to do. DH has 4 adopted babies in his family, ages 4 and below... His one cousin has a little girl very close to Sean's age, and the other 3 all belong to one other cousin and his wife. It really is an amazing thing!!

Katie - I'm sorry to hear about the poor dog... That's so sad! Glad she's doing better. As for me, I swear I'll be overjoyed if I never have to call the police again, lol... I swear I think insanity flocks to me.

Lauren - Woohoo for being at the end of the first trimester! I hope your knee is feeling better.

AFM - Lazy day here. It's raining, blah. DH and I stayed up till 2am (I'm way too old for that) and the kids got up at 7am, so I'm pooped. I really, really hope they both nap soon so that I can as well. I also started reading the 50 shades of grey books, because that's all i've heard about for months and didn't believe it was THAT great, so i had to see for myself. i'm only maybe 80-100 pages in (i downloaded all 3 books as a bundle, and it's like 1240 pages)... and anyway, i can't put it down! In fact, I'm going to read more now, haha.

Hey Ladies!

I know I've been slacking, but I figure I get a lot of updates from facebook and avoiding this chatboard helps to curb my baby fever!

So anyway, you know i'm here because I need my ladies! :bighug:

At the wedding we went to yesterday, I noticed some very light brown spotting. Thinking my period had arrived early, we ran out to get some tampons. Later that night there was nothing. And nothing today. So either my period is acting weird, or... implantation bleeding?

We have definitely not been trying, but I've been on no official birth control. Just an "avoid the O" and hope for the best. Yes, I know, not the best method, but whatever. Now I'm thinking we may have a surprise, which is fun, but I think DH might not be too excited since he's not sure he wants another kid, especially not now.

Okay, so I may be jumping the gun, but has anyone else ever experienced this light spotting?

Cari

Virginia - I didn't think you were overreacting either. That is a good way to think about things, though.

Mary - yikes, 2 am? I did that at NYE and the next morning was awful. The large amounts of alcohol I had consumed didn't help either! HA! Glad you like the book. I haven't read it yet, but maybe one day.

Katie - oh your poor dog. That's how our poor Brodie always gets hurt by Zuul. Brodie is a whiny annoying dog (I love him, but he is) and sometimes Zuul just can't take it anymore and clobbers him.

Cari - great to hear from you!! Yes, I've had a little spotting like that around implantation time BUUUUUUT I've also had plenty of regular cycles where I had spotting around that time before AF showed. So really you never know. And geez, if your DH really didn't want any more kids would he really be okay with no birth control other than avoiding O time? heh

AFM - not too much to report. My knee feels better. I got a ton of cleaning done this weekend. We also spent a ton of time at the pool. It's HOT out! Nothing else, really...

Cari - Good luck! I've had everything from no signs of spotting at all (with Sean) to full on bleeding through the first trimester (with Calvin)... So no clue about the spotting, but it could be! Are you planning to POAS?

Lauren - I want to go to the pool. We've never taken the boys to the pool, and I'll bet they'll love it. Hopefully we can find the time at some point this summer. We usually just end up setting up their baby pools, slip 'n slide, and water sprinkler in the yard.

AFM - I've been getting ready for Sean's birthday party. It's two weeks from yesterday. I can't believe it's so close... I swear I'm in denial. Sad How is my baby boy going to be 3 years old already??? I'm having an Angry Birds themed party... It should be cute, but I need to figure out a cake solution. I want it to be cake that he can eat, so I feel compelled to make it since it basically has to be a vegan cake with all of his allergies (conveniently, I work with a vegan who has given me a few good recipes). But I also want it to look cute (and I suck at cake decorating).

Mary - You did the right thing, hope the police dealt with it appropriately.

I think there are some icings you can do without allergins, can you use icing sugar? As kids my sister and I used to ice our cupcakes with icing sugar and water turned into a paste, with a few drops of food colouring. Then you could top your cake with some plastic angry bird toys/cake decorations.

Katie - Congrats on the milestone for Rory, Natalie never really crawled properly, went from army crawl to upright.

Hope your dog is ok.

Cari - Hi :wavehello: I think Lauren is probably right.

*AFM*

Feeling mostly better, my stomach is a bit touchy today but other than that things are well.

ARGH! I am getting soooooooo frustrated with my mom, I need to let Natalie's school know what dates I need care for over the summer, and my mom wants to take the girls to the cottage at some point. She hasn't picked a date so it's making giving the school dates difficult.

Amanda - Yeah, I've found icing really easy... If it includes milk, it's usually only a very small amount anyway, and I can easily substitute soy. We use a good dairy-free margarine that I can easily put in place of butter, and one of my favorite icing recipes just uses crisco, no dairy at all. The cake is the hardest part for me... I struggle with getting the right consistency without eggs... It always wants to fall apart, and it's either too moist or too dry. I did buy some "Egg Replacer" that I've heard great things about, so I'm going to do a practice cake with that next Wednesday when I finally get a day off work, and hopefully it'll turn out well.

I hope your mom hurries up and picks a date so you can let the school know what's going on!

AFM - I'm realizing each day how totally NOT ready I am for Sean to turn 3!! For real!! I keep remembering more things I need to do, and I am running out of time to do them. Like it just dawned on me today that I need to take some 3-year pictures of him. Now I feel totally unprepared for that... What will he wear, etc? Hahaha... I'm so not ready. Why do my babies have to grow up so fast?!

ETA: Baby fever. I just saw on my facebook that one of my college friends is pregnant again. She's 16 weeks with her 4th. She already has 3 boys. She isn't finding out the sex of the baby before it arrives, sometime in November. After I read that post, I scrolled down and saw multiple other pregnancy/baby posts, and of course it sparks the baby fever. Today is CD1 for me, yippee! LOL. I really should keep track this time... I haven't been tracking my cycles AT ALL, like I can't even remember what day my last period started, but I think this cycle was only 25 days long. I guess it sounds short, but that's pretty average for me.

Cari - good to hear form you! I've never had implantation spotting, but I know many of women do. When will you test?

Mary - GL with the baby fever. I just got a birth announcement in my e-mail this morning. Biggrin

Lauren - glad you're doing well.

Amanda - hope you get the summer figured out.

AFM: DH is so darn excited to add a 4th. I'm still not really feeling any baby fever, but I'm not opposed to trying. I decided to try some girl sway things (TMI) I won't be doing shettles because I hate timing BD, but I'm trying to get rid of my week of fertile CM.

Amanda - I hope your mom gets you those dates soon!

Mary - I love that you're having an Angry Birds themed party! Xander LOVES Angry Birds (or "Cooks Angry" as he calls them, I have no idea why he calls birds "cooks," it's just something that stuck even though I know he could say "bird" just fine haha). Anyway, I'm curious to see how you decorate - I'm sure they're so popular that there's lots of stuff out there. GL experimenting with the cake. Also, have you had Sean retested for his allergies? I know kids often outgrow these things, I just don't know how quickly that happens... That'd be awesome if he managed to outgrow at least a few of them at some point!

Virginia - GL swaying for a girl. I'm glad your DH is excited. Hopefully your baby fever will step up soon.

AFM - wow I really overdid it yesterday. It's been SO hot (mid/upper 90's) and full sun, so being outside is brutal. Since I have a kid that lives to be outside, well, yeah. I spent most of the afternoon/night nauseous and feeling awful because we spent too much time outside. Today is the last really hot day for awhile, so I'm going to try and get Xander outside early and then keep him in. haha. We'll see how this goes!

Only a few more days left of the first trimester for me! I haven't gained any weight, which I find crazy. I think I gained like 7 lbs with Xander! But I was also sitting at my desk all day long at work with co-workers constantly bringing me snacks. haha. I have my first doctors appt on Friday morning! I can't wait to hear the heartbeat!!!

Lauren - ugh, we're getting the heat now. Ick.

AFM: baby fever hasn't stepped up. I think part of the problem is Ollie teething and not sleeping well. Another part is TMI I've never really gotten to enjoy being fertile before. I was on BC until just before we TTC #1 and have been pregnant/BFing ever since. And I've realized the past few months that I like being fertile. It's fun. Every month I get to spend a week feeling energized and extremely attractive (and rather sore in the abdomen, but that's okay). I don't mind trying for another baby, but I think I might like it to take 2-3 months this time so I can enjoy the trying. IYKWIM.
BUT... we're going to a wedding Saturday and staying at a hotel overnight. CD12. Last cycle I Oed CD13 and this one seems on track to be similar. So... we'll get a pretty good try, I guess.

Virginia - I heard that a lower calorie intake tends to make girls... used to have a link to the article. I know what you mean by the whole loving the being fertile thing, that's one positive about DH's big V, I get lots of those cycles, that and I don't have to deal with the moodiness that comes with BCP. Of course this month I was sick right through O, go figure.

Lauren - Hope you can find something to bring Xander inside, maybe try making cookies inside with him or doing a craft. Natalie loves painting with her cars, take cars and washable paint, squirt some paint on a plate then drive the cars through the paint then on a piece of paper.

*AFM*

My mom didn't get the dates but I did talk to the School about the summer camp and thankfully they are flexable over the summer.

Natalie is learning dance in school, and having a blast, she was showing me a couple of the moves she learned, it's so cute.

Yesterday she found a clip on earing wore the thing the entire day, it looked great on her. She really wants her ears pierced (Dana and I both have them pierced), I'd love to do it but am so unsure I want to have to keep it clean for her.

Nat's school holds a "graduation" every year for the kids, it's really just a year end celebration and thank you to the staff.

Dana is excited for summer, as much as she likes school I think she's looking forward to the break. She goes to Vancouver with her grandma a few days after school lets out.

I'm almost back to normal from my sickness, stomach is still a little off and my appetite hasn't returned fully.

Our yard is mostly finished on one side, just need to seal off are yard since our neighbor built most of the fence. The contractor who we hired to do that and put a fence up on the other side called me today, apparently the neighbor claims that the fence she built is 6" on her property and does not want us to attach to hers or have our small section of fence on her property. She's NUTS! Anyway since she made this claim I dug out the survey from when we bought the house and DH did some measuring, the fence is on her property but only by 1.5" not the 6" that she claims. Who'd have thought this would be the hassle? Anyway we will have the contractor put the fence right on the property line if there are any issues.

Mary - that party sounds adorable Smile Have fun! Crazy to think he's 3, aww!

Lauren - time is flying for you (well it feels like that to ME lol). Be careful of the heat!

Virginia - yay for a good chance! I think it's hilarious that DH is more gung ho than you are!

Amanda - what a PITA - GL with all of that! hope you're feeling 100% again

AFM - travel is finally OVER. I'm glad to be done with it. DC was actually a lot of fun b/c my best friend from college lives there. We had dinner, drank some wine and just caught up. He's one of my favorite people on earth and it was so nice to sit and talk for hours! It had been a year since I'd seen him last and with kids and his work there isn't much time to get together. Today I'm feeling like my house looks like a tornado hit it but with the kids I just can't do any deep cleaning. ARGH!
