Lauren - I'm sorry about the allergies. I can imagine my family being weird about stuff like that I think like your mom mine would think I'd "just be ok" or something. She wouldn't really get it. I'm glad the boys were good though and the trip was fun

Ashley - I can't believe you will have a baby no later than THURSDAY! Totally crazy! I'm so excited and crazy jealous

Virginia - Try not to worry....sounds like you're doing what you can to take care of yourself, not much more you can do than that though I'm sure that doesn't help

Mary - I hope everything is hormone, deficiency and stress related and as everything goes back to normal the strange symptoms subside for you. You had all those stomach bugs at the end of your pregnancy I bet your body is so darn tired!

Amanda - GL with the stomach issues I hope you can figure it out

AFM - Nothing exciting here. Same old

Ashley - Too bad you didn't see any progress, great to hear all is well and you have a date set.

Virginia - Hopefully the Previa clears up, try not to stress too much since there isn't too much you can do about it.

    Everyone else Hi!

    *AFM*

Went to the dentist yesterday, to get a filling replaced, it was awful, I should have been picky about the dentist doing the work (the office I go to has multiple dentists) I don't like Dr C's bed side manners, thankfully his assistant made up for it she was really friendly. My jaw still hurts today from the work. It cost a bit more for the procedure then I thought it would ($330) thankfully the insurance money was deposited this morning.

Just a quiet day at work today.

Amanda - Sorry no answers on the stomach stuff. Hopefully it will help to eliminate dairy. I still take my prenatal vitamin.. They recommend we keep taking it the whole time we're BFing. I've also been instructed by the doc to take a calcium supplement and 4000 units of vitamin D daily (that's pretty high for a daily dose, but mine was pretty low). And I did 9 days of potassium supplements, with high doses on the first two days.

Lauren - I feel ya on the food allergy thing. I feel like my IL's feelings gets hurt sometimes when Sean can't eat stuff they try to give him, and I feel over-the-top mama-bear as they watch me reading labels. Ugh. I've actually been reading a lot about the desensitization treatments, and I'm seriously considering putting him through a program. There's a doctor who is recommended a LOT for the treatment on food allergy forums who is located about 4 hours away in Michigan. I emailed their office and actually got a very fast response... They said they've never had an insurance refuse it, so that gives me hope that it will be covered. I was expecting it to be about 5-10K out of pocket based on things I've read. Sometimes by the end of the treatment, they can freely incorporate peanut (or whatever food, they do several) into their diet. I'm not even concerned with that... I just want that comfort of knowing he could accidentally eat something with peanut and not have a potentially life-threatening reaction.

Ashley - Woohoo for having an end in sight! I hope it happens on its own!

Virginia - Sorry you're not feeling like you can be the best mom to all of them at the same time. I've pretty much felt that way since Nolan was born, especially with these health concerns and anxiety. Ugh.

Katie - Hello! How are the boys doing? And the baby fever?

AFM - I saw my doc yesterday and my BP was 75/50 when he checked it... Needless to say, we've dramatically decreased the dose of BP med (back to my pregnancy dose for now, which was pretty much as low as it gets for this med). I also decreased the dose of zoloft from 100mg to 75mg, trying to alleviate some side effects. Not sure if that was the best idea, as my anxiety level has gone up, but some side effects have calmed down, so it's a trade-off. I really don't like this med... Wish there were more options for BFing. At the same time, I don't really want to change a med and have to adjust again to something new. Still having tingling, particularly in my left hand/foot, as well as horrible head/neck ache and weird achy pain in my hands and feet. Ugh... I'm ready to be normal. Still scared about this weirdness, although I am happy for a good MRI.

Hm was today induction day for Ashley? I FB stalked but didn't see any news....hoping there are baby snuggles going one

Amanda - hope your mouth is feeling better, ugh!

Mary - I know nothing about allergies but I hope you can get that treatment! Sounds like it would be one less thing to worry about. I'm glad your BP is getting back to normal, now I hope everything else follows!

Boys are good! Rory had his 18 month appointment today. 25lbs 3 oz and 33 1/2" (Evan was 26lbs and 33 3/4" they remain so close). He was good, another mild ear infection. He had a wicked cold last week and had red ears. The doc called in antibiotics and he is totally my favorite doc but I just asked if he thought Rory needed them. I've read that they aren't always necessary for ears etc etc and he's almost over the cold and sleeping fine, eating fine, playing. Doc gave me a bit of attitude. I wasn't arguing I was just curious...sheesh. Of course I totally forgot to pick the damn ab's up -- so I'm that mom who will show up a day later to pick them up. We aren't all dead beats LOL

Oh the baby fever rages on. I told DH as of August protection is on him. I really don't want to get preg June or July but Aug it's game on for me, DH wants October so I told him it becomes his job

We had our little guy!! Can't get pictures to upload on here because the hospital's internet won't let me go to Photobucket, but he and I are both doing great! He was born yesterday afternoon and is 7lbs 3 oz and 18.5". We named him Hudson and his siblings are in love with him (especially DD who thinks she can take care of him all on her own..eek!). Working on writing up a birth story and everything too but need to get some rest.

Ashley - Saw the post on fb, CONGRATS!!! And I love his name.

Katie - You're right. Most ear infections actually are self-limiting and will heal on their own. There is a fair deal of debate on what is better... Antibiotics (generally takes high doses to treat it) or ride it out. I guess each case is probably different, so the treatment will be also.

AFM - Katie's post about Rory's 18-mo appointment reminded me that I never posted an update here about Nolan's 1-month appointment. He had gained almost FOUR pounds!! He went from 6lb 4oz at birth to 10lb 2oz at one month. WOW! The doctor walked in and said, "Do you think that weight increase is correct?" LOL. I told her he does look a lot chunkier now. He has fat cheeks and this little double chin. And a fat belly. So cute to watch them chunk up. And he wants to eat CONSTANTLY, so I'm not at all surprised. He's becoming a lot more alert. He hasn't officially smiled yet, but I think he's getting close. He has given me several sorta half-smiles. Like he's happy and sorta smiling, but not the full-on gummy grin yet.

I'm still feeling a lot like crap. The pain in my neck and head is so nasty. I wish it would go away. Maybe they really did hit spinal fluid with my epidural? If they did, is there a treatment for that, or does it just need to resolve on its own? Does anyone know?

Mary - Good to hear your BP is doing better, hope the rest of your troubles clear up too.

Katie - I totally understand why you would ask about the antibiotics my doctor wouldn't have even given them, if the infection isn't bad doctors don't prescribe medicine.

    Ashley - Congrats, welcome Hudson.

    *AFM*

OMG getting my prescription this month was a nightmare, I called about a week early then just went in to pick it up, they said they hadn't heard back from the doctor, so I left. I got a call later that night and was told that they received a fax back saying to request the medication from my family doctor, my family doctor doesn't deal with my medicine for my neurological problem, my neurologist does, since it was past doctors hours I left it for the night. Called the neurologist's office in the morning I spoke with one of the secretaries and she couldn't figure things out right away. She then called back and let me know that they never received the fax and also reassured me that they would never make me request the medication from my family doctor. I called the pharmacy back after that and told them what the neurologists office told me the pharmacist actually said to me "why would we lie to you?" implying that I was calling them liars, I explained no I think it may have been a mistake in maybe faxing the request, sure enough they had a 3 where there should have been a 5. In the end I got my prescription but I really don't like the way I was treated by the pharmacy, the entire time they were acting like I was being unreasonable when it was their mistake that was causing all the trouble.

Really nothing much going on here, just working today, should get focusing on that instead of playing about on the internet.

Ashley - congrats! How was the delivery? I can't wait to see pictures. That leaves just me, huh? Hopefully it'll be another 4 months before we meet our little guy.

Mary - oh, yeah, the epidural! I wonder if that could be to blame. Have you asked your doctor? Way to go getting Nolan to gain weight!

Amanda - huh, maybe time to switch pharmacies?

Katie - I'd wait on the antibiotics unless he develops a fever. That's how my pediatrician does it. GL with the baby fever. Even with all my concerns I've told DH we're not necessarily done. If the end of this pregnancy turns into a nightmare but we get a healthy baby in the end we're probably done. If it all turns out well with little stress then... well... we'll see.

I use this pharmacy because I can be awful at remembering to pick up my prescription during regular hours and they are open until midnight.

Well we kind of started the antibiotics lol Rory hates them so it is so so. But my doc isn't really a med happy sort and he said clearly if it were his child's ears he would treat them but he could have been nice and educational instead he was kind of a **** but he has sent us home with viral infections plenty of times with no meds and my kids like him so I will take his advice maybe he was just having a bad day.

Mary yay chubby baby! Add a few ounces and you have my newborns haha I really don't want another nearly 11 pound baby...

    Amanda boo for the hassle!

Virginia I fully expect a fifth for you

Ashley congrats and I love the name
