Laura

How is your mom doing? I've been thinking about your family a lot recently. I hope she got better news at her biopsy than my mom did (mine has stage 0 breast cancer).

Virginia - :bigarmhug: I didn't know there was a stage 0 to breast cancer. That sounds SUPER treatable though, right? Like the earliest possible detection!! Lots of thoughts and prayers for her and your family!

Laura - Thinking of you guys! I hope your mom's results come back just fine!

stage 0 means it's not invasive at all. She does need a mastectomy, however. The surgery and recovery won't be fun, but she should be fine after.

Well I'm glad it isn't invasive but that doesn't make the surgery, recovery, adjustment sound any easier. Hugs and strength to your mom and family as you all face this. So sorry you have to.

:bighug: Thanks for the thoughts friends! We went out of town over the long weekend and I'm just now checking preg.org! Yesterday was super emotional and I'm SO thankful that Mom's spot was fibrocystic! I guess not all cysts drain?!?

Virginia - I had NO clue that there's a stage 0 breast cancer! When will your mom has her mastectomy?

Laura, fantastic news!

not sure when she'll have her surgery. She's having the reconstruction done at the same time, so two surgeons have to coordinate their schedules. It's a 4+ hour surgery! She'll have about a 3 month recovery (they take abdominal muscles to reconstruct it), which will be a challenge. I have a close knit, geographically close family, and my parents have lots of friends in town, so she'll have plenty of support.

Laura, I'm glad your mom's in the clear!

Virginia, I'm sorry to hear your mom has breast cancer, but am glad she found it early and that she'll be fine. Surgery is never fun, so I hope it all goes smoothly!

Laura - Glad your mom is fine! My mom has had issues with fibrocystic breast tissue before also... It's scary to go through the whole biopsy thing, but woohoo for something that isn't really dangerous!

Virginia - So sorry to hear about your mom, but woohoo for early detection!!!! Wishing her well for the surgery/recovery..
