March Chat Thread

So... it's March.

Katie - GL with your trip. Hope you can talk your boss out of the long one.

Amanda - GL with DH's trip. I'm sure you'll do fine.

Lauren - I hope being sick just delayed O and you'll start feeling fertile soon.

Mary - hope AF shows soon.

Hi, everyone else!

AFM: I'm 99% sure I Oed. I usually O overnight and the next morning the first thing Raymond said to me was "Mommy, is there a new baby in your tummy?" I said no, but he said "I think there is". If the kid is right I'm hiring him out as a psychic. I think the odds are low, but if my LP tops 10 days I might have to break out the HPTs. O came sooner after our getaway than I would have liked. I'd rather not join the "Oops, I'm due right around Thanksgiving" club (no offense, Karen and Katie!) especially since I'm pretty sure I'd be due on my birthday.

ETA: I take it back, I wouldn't be due on my birthday, I'd be due on Thanksgiving. Good thing it's very unlikely (not matter what Raymond says.) I filled in the last week of my chart. I disagree with O day (I think March 1st). I'm intrigued to see when AF shows.

I've had a weird O pattern since Alex was born. I get 2 days of +OPK, then O pain overnight. The next day my temp stays low or sometimes drops, then the next day (2dpo?) it starts to rise.

Well it is March isn't it! CRAZY!

Virginia - Awww you'd be a copy of my pregnancy from last year! Was I really just finding out I was prego? Crazy! I hope it works out however you want though!

Id love to follow you through another pregnancy!! How the heck do you and DH find time to DTD twice a day with 3 little kids? I am lucky to find the time a few times a week!

Katie~ Any new pics of the kids?? Id love to see some more of Rory Smile

Well, today is CD30 for me. I'm getting antsy for AF, but in all honesty, I think maybe it's an anno cycle. I need to look back and see when I was complaining of pain and then found EWCM. I think it was about 13 days ago, because I know it was like my last day or two of work and I've been on vacation for 12 days as of today (back to work tomorrow, sad!). So anyway, just waiting around for something.. Or nothing..

ETA: And now I'm nauseated. Probably just something I ate. We really were 99% careful this cycle. You know how that 1% always seems to happen though, lol..

ETA x 2: Okay, DH and I got paranoid, so I got some sticks and POAS = Negative. Whew!

Yeah, I guess it is March, eh? haha

Mary, glad you guys got the result you wanted. It's so easy to get paranoid!

Virginia, it'll be interesting to see what happens. heh.

AFM, okay so my cervix is finally starting to open and I'm getting CM. Sheesh, took long enough!!!! Hopefully I'll O in the next few days! EEK I hope so!!

I started potting training Xander yesterday. It's not going great, but we're going to get through it. I have him in training pants that are essentially underwear with a tiny bit of padding for little leaks, so when he has an accident 90% of the pee ends up on the floor. That's fine, it's what I want because I want him to feel wet and be uncomfortable - but it's not fun. haha. So far we've only gotten a little bit of pee in the potty, but I'm hoping he'll catch on quick! Stay tuned...

Yay March! I am SOOO ready for spring!

Mary - Yay for a BFN! Haha, don't get to say that often, eh? Wink

Virginia - I agree, when do you find the time to DTD with three kids?!

Lauren - Good luck on the PT front! I'm considering tackling it soon, I just haven't committed to anything yet! Owen pees a few times a day on the potty (if you ask him), and he knows how to "hold" it and stuff, so I'm thinking he's ready, but I'm not sure. I read an article that said research shows the BEST time to PT is 27-31 months. So I don't know. We'll see! I hope it goes fast for you!

Katie - Wow, you're right. It's been about a year since your BFP? Insane how time flies, right?

AFM - I'm still around! I'm just a total slacker!! Haha. Owen had croup the end of last week, which meant lots of sleepless nights. DH caught it the same day (croup is just a nasty cold in adults), so that was tons of fun. I thought I'd avoided it, and then ended up with SEVERE sinus pressure that kept me up most of Monday and Tuesday nights. By Wednesday, I was a complete wreck! DH ended up taking a half-day on Thursday so I could sleep, and since then I've felt a ton better. Thank god, too, because Owen's party with our families was this weekend! I'm still sick, but definitely on the mend.

Also, we had Owen's two year check last week. He's 25.6 lbs. (lost a whole pound from Fri-Wed from not eating when he was sick!) and 34" tall. I can't believe how big he is! Anyhow, I expressed concern over his lack of speech AGAIN, so our ped gave me an Early Intervention pamphlet. I called that day, and am just waiting on a call-back to set up his eval in the house. Of course, I googled Autism crap again and had myself completely freaking out that he was autistic because he's not putting two-word phrases together (and that is on the scary 'get checked out now!' checklist). Of course, he has no other signs of autism, but I'm freaking out anyhow!

We were on vacation without the boys for a few nights! Normally that would be impossible.

Jen - glad you made it through the croup. I hope you figure the speech out. I had autism concerns with Raymond (more behavior than speech) and he turned out just fine. I hope Owen is just a regular late talker.`

Mary - yay for a BFN. Smile

Lauren - yay for EWCM! I hope the PTing goes well.

AFM: we moved Oliver out of our room Saturday (finally, huh?) and in with the other boys. It's a pretty small room, but they fit. The first night was rough with Oliver, but last night all 3 boys slept all night! Yahoo

Jen - Good luck with the speech thing. I'll be hoping for something easily treated (maybe an ear issue or something?) and nothing scary like autism. Or shoot, maybe nothing is wrong at all... They all develop in their own time. KUP. Smile

Lauren - Good luck with PTing. I'm having a hard time getting into it too much here. I think just because it's SO freaking tedious. He wants to just go and play in the bathroom for like a half hour every time you take him to potty... He wants to waste toilet paper, flush the toilet 20 times, squeeze out 3 drops of pee 20 different times. And... He STILL does not tell us before he needs to go. He has started telling us pretty much immediately after, so I think we're making slow progress, but PTing sucks. I know it will be SO worth it though, once he's finally trained. Smile

AFM - AF ended up coming later last night. I would've been okay with a BFP, but the timing is not perfect. We're just now getting into the thick of saving up money and making plans to hopefully build our next house, so it just wouldn't be the most convenient time. I've actually started job hunting in the area where we want to move, but unfortunately, all I can find are listings for part-time. I'll just keep looking.. I've got time. I wish I could just stay with my current company at a different location, but they don't need anyone in the area either. Grrrr... Maybe something will open up.

Ugh, I have the post-vacation, back-to-work depression right now. I have to leave here in about 15 minutes and I dread it. Also, in order to make my 7 days of vacation into 12 days off work, I took 3 unpaid days, so I'm going to have a significantly smaller paycheck to look forward to. It was worth it, don't get me wrong... But we recently got more serious about saving money now that building a house seems like a real possibility... So I just need to get past that crappy paycheck and then buckle down!

Mary - Sounds like your plans are falling in place, hope a job turns up for you when you need it.

Lauren - Good luck with the potty training, I remember Virginoia had some great tips for training boys.

Jen - I am sure Owen is fine, there are other things that can lead to speech problems, some minor. My cousin was delayed because fluids kept building in his ears and he couldn't hear, they gave him tubes and he started talking. He's still not talking fluently for his age (5) but I think it might be a parenting issue.

Virginia - Glad to hear that Oliver's transition to the room with the boys went quick.

We had Dana's birthday party on the weekend, she really enjoyed it. I can't believe she's a teenager in just a few days!

Natalie got her "report card" from the Montessori School, she seems to be doing well as long as she keeps focused/doesn't get bored, so much like her dad in that way. I'm glad she's doing well and enjoying herself there.

I'm just working today, had a pretty productive morning, hoping for a productive afternoon.

Mary - yay for AF! GL with work. It must be tough going back after such a long vacation.

Amanda - I'm glad Natalie is doing so well.

AFM: I think I'm ready to see AF any day now. I have been unusually tired today given how much sleep I got and it's making me nervous. I really don't think I'm ready for another baby yet and I kind of doubt I'll be ready this summer.

Mary - Yay for AF! Isn't it always that way? AF waits until you shell out the dough for some HPT's, and then shows up hours later. I'm sure everything will fall into place with the house and job, it just might take some time! Good luck!

Amanda - Glad Natalie is doing well in school! Did you have a productive afternoon, too? Wink

Lauren - O yet?!

Virginia - Glad the boys slept so well for you all bunked together! I keep telling DH at least if we decide on a third, we have two boys and can always bunk them together when we run out of space. Wink I hope AF shows for you soon so you can get a handle on everything!

AFM - Thanks for the words of encouragement! Don't get me wrong, the kid "talks" all day long, and acts like I should totally understand him. It's just mainly lots of jibberish at this point. He likes to repeat words randomly when we're talking throughout the day, and will use about 15 or so on his own (aside from a ton of complex gestures telling me what he wants, which I understand and probably doesn't help his lack of words!). I picked up two more words this weekend, so maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention?! But, I still don't feel he's where he should be.

On that note, the EI lady called me today to set up our first parent consultation (this Friday, yay!), and she was super super SUPER nice and helpful. We talked about Owen and where he was in different aspects. I sort of expressed some fear in the autism label, and she told me from what I'd told her about him, she wanted to put my mind at ease and say that she definitely doesn't think he has autism at all. So that made me feel a lot better!!

I took a minute to do a B&W conversion on a picture of my cat I figured I'd share since it seems quiet today.

Had a good day, got some cleaning done, though not as much as I would have liked to. My aunt and grandma came to visit for a short bit I enjoy their company.

Hope everyone else had a good Tuesday.

Jen, I'm glad you got your first consultation scheduled! Sorry you all were sick, but I'm glad you're feeling better now.

Amanda, adorable cat. Love the pic.

Mary, hopefully something will open up in that area soon. Just keeps your eyes peeled! I save flushing the toilet as one of the "rewards" for when Xander actually pees. He loves it! If only it would get him to pee more!

AFM, OMG I HATE potty training! Xander is afraid to pee - he's not afraid of the potty, he'll sit there no problem... He just freaks out when he's about to pee and will start fussing/crying and jump up. He spends almost all morning and all afternoon having to pee because he'll hold it. We aren't having any accidents, at least. He'll pee a little bit in the potty chair when he's desperate, but for the most part he'll hold it til he gets his nap time or night time diaper. Is this just going to be a waiting game? What else can I do! I am so freakin' exhausted all of the time because this has sucked up all of my time. I don't even get to shower every day anymore! I'm not going to put him back in diapers, I'm not. We're DOING THIS dangit! But until he gets over his fear, it's going to be a bumpy road. Boo!

Oh yeah, as for O'ing.......... I'm not sure! haha. Maybe yesterday, but maybe not. My cervix closed up again, but then would open... Then closed.............. I'm like WTF is going on! So I guess I just have to wait it out and keep BD'ing every-other-day until I get a temp rise or something happens.

Lauren - have you tried letting him pee standing? We got some paper confetti (but hole punch dots work too) and at first the boys peed on those to make it a game. Good luck!

Amanda - beautiful photo

Jen - I'm so glad your conversation went well. I hope the assessment does, too.

AFM: I feel more like i have a handle on things now. Having the boys all stuck inside during 5 days of bad weather was terrible!

Lauren - GL with the PTing. You're doing better than we are, in that we still put Sean in diapers most of the time. I just can't get into the training, uggghhh... I need to, but it just totally sucks! hahah..

Virginia - Woohoo for the sleep situation! LOL... We still have both kids and our dog in the bed with us. We'll get it figured out soon... I hope. Calvin STILL wakes up like twice a night to eat... WTF?!?! I know he doesn't NEED to. I don't get it. He'll wake up inconsolable until he gets his milk. Sean stopped eating overnight at like 2 months... Jeez. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and sleep train him or something. Grrr.

Amanda - Pretty cat pic. Smile I wish my dog would hold still long enough for me to get a picture of him.

Jen - It's good to hear that the lady isn't concerned with autism. That's gotta be a huge relief. GL.

AFM - I got a call on my cell phone today from a local number that I didn't recognize, so I answered it, and the man asked for me. I told him it was me, and he continued to introduce himself as "officer so-and-so" with the police department. I had an immediate internal freak-out because the police don't often (ever) call me, hahaha... Well it turns out that he was working on a complaint I had made to the Mayor's line about the loud music from the bar behind my house. He has spoken with the city prosecutor about it and since the bar does not have a permit allowing them to play loud music, they can start writing them citations every time we call (aka, the bar gets fined... woohoo!). Of course, the first question I had was how we can prevent them from just going out and getting such a permit. He didn't really have a good answer for me on that one, but suggested we start with our block watch and our HOA. I still don't know if anything will be done about it, but it felt good to have them legitimately address our concerns. He stopped and had a talk with the people at the bar, then stopped at my house and talked to my husband (I was at work). So at least SOMETHING is getting done with it and we're not just being ignored.

Mary, I'm glad it seems like the city is doing SOMETHING about that bar! But yeah, seems like they'd just run out and get a permit after they get fined... Hopefully not!

Virginia, oh man does it suck to be trapped indoors, especially for that long! I've tried enticing Xander to pee standing up, but he wants nothing to do with it. I told Jer to pee for him when he gets home to see if that'll do it, but probably not. His potty chair is a little awkward for standing up to pee...

AFM, Xander finally peed! Like really peed! His entire bladder!! Wahoo! It wasn't voluntary, he was bursting at the seams and couldn't even stand up anymore. haha. But instead of just dribbling a few drops he finally emptied his bladder. This was right before nap... Hopefully he learned that it feels good to pee on the potty and his fear is gone, but we'll see this afternoon. I am hoping and praying that things will start to get easier now! It's been FIVE dang days of potty training, I deserve a break! haha. I made a huge fuss and he was so proud of himself after, so please please PLEASE let him be okay with it now! lol

Things seems pretty dang fertile today, so c'mon O! I haven't checked since this morning, but I was watery then. Maybe I have some EWCM? I should check... If not, hopefully tomorrow. I'm so sick of BD'ing!! haha. I know that sounds bad, but doing it every-other-day SUCKS! And now if I'm fertile I'll have to do it again tonight, even though we did it last night, just because you kind of have to! Even DH is sick of it. I think we're both just so tired and crabby from PT'ing and DH is still kind of sick, so we have not been in the mood. Isn't making a baby sexy? Geez, I feel like I wrote this same post last month. hahaha.

Yay Xander! He'll get it, Lauren. As for peeing standing, having daddy show them definitely helps. A step stool at the toilet is more enticing, I think, than trying to get them to pee into a little potty. It also provides a bigger target. I hope you O soon!

Mary - yay for progress with the bar.

AFM: so, I was spotting this morning (7dpo by my count) and was sure it was the start of AF. But it has since stopped. Hopefully AF will really start soon. I'm in no rush to get pregnant right now. DH has hinted the next might be our last (but he's not definitely set on that).

Virginia - I would have trouble believing the next was your last... I totally imagine you with the huge family! I'm thinking 6 for you. Or what did Raymond say, 11?? Or 11 in addition to him? LOL. Smile

Lauren - I know, making a baby can be totally non-romantic, lol... We had fun making Sean because it was on our honeymoon. With Cal, I was still traumatized from the m/c and so I was totally like, "just get it done so I can have my baby now." LOL... sexy. Wink

AFM - Going off that damn BCP was the best thing I ever did.. Not only do I not have insane mood swings and constant nausea anymore, but my AF this time was SO light and short and relatively cramp-free by comparison. I feel sooo much better. Smile

Mary, I'm the opposite - off bcp I have the heaviest, worst-ever AF's! ARGH! I miss the bcp AF's! I was always crabby, but, um, I'm kind of crabby off them too. hahaha. Unfortunately, I can never go on bcp ever again because of my blood clotting disorder. I'd love to get rid of this adult acne and heavy AF's! (after my next preg, obviously).

Virginia, uh oh - implantation spotting? Hasn't your DH said he thinks you're done after every kiddo? lol

Yay! Xander peed again successfully on the potty and it wasn't even late!! He held it a little bit, but then you could tell he was like "F this!" and just went. hahaha. I think he got sick of holding it so much and being uncomfortable. Plus he loves playing his toddler games on the iPad and that's when I let him use it. And I gotta say, it's freaky how good he is at using the iPad! I think he knows his way around it better than I do!!

Also, my CM is either watery or watery with a little EWCM mixed in. I think I'll end up O'ing tomorrow. I told DH we'd better BD again tonight and he was all "oh man!" hahahaha. Poor guy. Poor me! At least PT'ing is going well today, so we're not both crabasses. heh.

Lauren - Sean is the exact opposite on the potty... He tries to PUSH it out, even when he doesn't really have to go. He'll grunt like he's constipated or something, just to try to get a little pee out, lol.

AFM - The bar was loud last night and THIS TIME, they got a citation!! :woohoo: It has been described to us like getting a ticket, so they have to pay money now when the police get called out. I love it! I contacted the prosecutor today (on the advice of the police officers) to see if there's anything we can do to prevent them from being issued a permit for loud music. I really hope they can't get one... Just waiting now to hear back from them. Our HOA meeting is coming up at the end of this month. I think I have to work that night, but I'm going to see if my partner will switch me shifts so I can go. I am waging war!! (and still selling this crap-hole ASAP)

Mary - glad being off the BCP solved some of your problems!

Lauren - yay for good PTing! Sorry BDing feels like a chore. Yeah, DH goes back and forth on how many kids he wants. it all depends on how challenging the kids have been that day.

AFM 9 hours after the little bit of spotting AF finally showed. Biggrin Now I need to not get pregnant this next cycle because I'd probably be due on or just after Christmas. I don't really want that. After that, we'll see.

Hey girls Smile

Lauren: I know what you mean about liking being on BCPs. I find I am definitely more moody around AF and I get horrible cramps that are tolerable on the pill. LMAO about the BD'ing discussion with your DH. That is how we are when we're TTC too. Sometimes it's like, ugh...guess we better have sex. Wink Glad PT'ing is going better - I had a similar problem with Brekke not wanting to pee (or knowing how to release?) but once she got that, it's been smooth sailing.

Mary: boo to the stupid bar, but glad they got a citation. Little victories Smile I'll cross my fingers for you that they don't get that permit, how horrible that would be for you!

Virginia: sorry about AF...I'll admit I'm a little bummed out that Raymond's psychic powers failed us! Wink

Amanda: nice pic!

I'm in process of trying to teach Dane to put himself to sleep since his sleeping habits have gone from wonderful to awful recently, like wanting to stay up at night until 11 pm or later, waking up at night for 1-2 hours because he wants to play, etc. He generally isn't a big crier, so he mostly just whines with only a little crying if he's getting too tired, but I still hate doing it. Brekke is almost completely PT'ed except at night which is hit-and-miss still. The only time we have accidents is if I forget to remind her to go pee when she's playing and she waits until it's too late. For those not on FB or didn't see, Dane has been crawling for a few weeks now and is starting to pull himself up on everything and sometimes tries to let go and stand

Wow! sounds like you're busy, Ashley! I'm glad that PTing is going so well. I hope Dane's sleep gets better soon. We've gone through some phases like that. It's so frustrating. I've heard (and seen sometimes) that kids don't sleep as well when they're working on some new type of movement. I that's what's going on for you.
Who knows if Raymond's psychic powers truly failed. Maybe if my LP had been longer he would have been right. Personally, I'm not disappointed he was wrong. My family already has 3 birthdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We don't need another! Nor does little Ollie need his milk taken away just yet. I also don't really mind AF. It's not the most convenient thing, but my mood is usually pretty level and The occasional cramps respond well to a little Tylenol. I'll side with Mary - it's easier off the BCP for me (just generally. I can't recall what AF was like on BCP.)

You ladies went from silent to chatter boxes.

Mary - Hope you can do something about the bar issues, if you are going to sell it would be nice to have it in a more desirable area.

Virginia - Knowing you I'm just going to say one thing. Goodluck with the not getting pregnant.

Ashley - Good to hear from you sounds like the kids are doing well. Yay for the potty success and the crawler.

*AFM*

Nat broke out with a fever last night, so I'm home from work, since I have a flier due late next week it means I have to go in on the weekend, ICK!

Been a pretty quiet day today, really not much to tell.

Hi Ladies!

Virginia- glad it worked out how you wanted....hope you're enjoying some warmer weather

Mary - YAY for the police doing something! Hopefully the bar quiets down AND you sell the house

Lauren - YAY for him using the potty! I haven't even tried....I'm lazy I think....

Ashley - Dane is SO adorable! I can't believe he's already standing!

Amanda - My boys have been sick this week too....spring cold season or something. Hope she's feeling better and you get in and out this weekend

AFM - like I said Evan had a fever Mon and Tue and was home from daycare. Rory has a nasty cough but no fever so I think he'll fight it. The cold must be wearing on him b/c he gave me a full night's sleep last night! I woke at 4:30am a little worried! He's never slept so well. Napping is still a lost cause but he is getting much better at night. Work is making me crazy Smile And that's about it for excitement in my world Smile Not much going on!

Katie - Boooo for sick kids. I was going to ask how back-to-work is treating you. Ugh. Did you ever find out for sure if you have to go to Cali?

Ashley - I'm glad PTing is going well for you. It sucks for us, haha. He's very hit or miss with it. I hope Dane starts sleeping better. I'll bet he's keeping you busy now that he's getting all mobile!

Amanda - I hope Natalie feels better. Ugh... I hate it when the kiddos are sick.

Virginia - Good luck not getting prego this cycle, hahaha. After that, I'll be sending you fertile vibes. We need some new BFP's in here! Smile

AFM - Ha! The bar got ANOTHER citation last night. Biggrin And... We got the exact same police officer who had cited them the night before. I LOVE it. And get this... I emailed the prosecutor and actually got a very thorough response back in the SAME DAY!! She informed me that in order for them to be allowed a permit to play loud music, the people who live within 1000 feet have to be given the opportunity to vote, and then 70% of them must vote yes to approve it! That is great news because I think it would be pretty hard to get 70% to approve it. Our HOA meeting is coming up in a couple weeks and we're going to go and tell people what's up and urge them to vote NO, if it ever even comes to that point. Also, in her response, she gave me contact phone numbers, email addresses, etc for various people such as the person in charge of zoning our area, and a few others. It was really a great and very detailed response, so the city prosecutor is my new favorite person. I did not expect a same-day response, especially since I got an automated response saying she was out of the office until Monday. Yay! Smile

Mary - That is AWESOME! It's always nice to feel like tax dollars aren't a total waste! As for work I've taken the ignore the CA suggestion approach. I'm afraid if I bring it up he might think it's a good idea, if I let it go and enough time passes he might forget about it. My boss is kind of that way. He also made a passing comment that my responsibilities might be changing. It was very random -- there are 13 of us who do my job and we each have different responsibilities (categories in the store - I do Natural, Organic, Ethnic another guy does frozen foods). The frozen guy is (per my boss) "in big trouble" meaning he's not been hitting anything. So he implied they might swap us. I'd be responsible for frozen -- and for fixing it -- and he'd get a last chance at success with my categories which are doing really well. If I were working full time I'd be kind of excited about the change since I've been doing my stuff for a few years but I have nO idea how I'd manage that part time. So I'm taking the same ignore it approach LOL They might bag the whole thing or swap him with someone else. There are 2 months until our fiscal year ends so it will probably change 100 times between now and then.

I've been bringing Rory to dog adoption clinics. He's very popular LOL He's really good and it gives Evan some daddy time which he loves. I didn't adopt out any dogs today and took home one more than I brought....not that right math! But it was fun

Katie, it sometimes sounds like your boss forgets that you're only part-time! lol. Hopefully your ignore it approach works out.

Mary, woo hoo for another citation!! Do you know if the fine increases every time they get another citation, or is it always the same? Also, can they only get so many before they get shut down or get some other type of punishment? Because if it's the same fine every time and they can have as many as they want, maybe it won't be worth it to them to stop playing loud music - like if they make enough money on those nights to stomach the cost of the fine...

Amanda, sorry about the sick kiddo and having to work on the weekend!

Ash, wtg Dane on pulling up! Sorry about having to sleep train, that's never much fun. Glad PT'ing is going well!

AFM, PT'ing is getting a little better every day. He no longer wants to pee in his diapers (unless he's asleep) and will fight it as long as he can. We went to the zoo yesterday, so put him in a diaper since we weren't ready for public PT'ing (we want to master it at home first) and he ended up having a horrible time because he had to pee so bad and wouldn't go. He finally gave in after hours and then had a good time... Anyway, so I guess no more going out for more than an hour for us until he's PT'd! He'll also go on the potty faster. Before he'd sit there for like 30 minutes and whine and not want to go, but eventually go. Now he'll just sit down and go when he has to go and he hasn't whined/cried the last two times.

I finally O'd, too. Yesterday around 1 or 2 a.m. (so basically Thurs). It woke me up, so I know it happend. My temp didn't go up yesterday, but since I only O'd a few hours before I woke up I guess that was why. Temp is up today, though. I can't believe it took til CD22 to O!! If I do get preggo this cycle it's going to throw off my due date big time! At least until I have a sonogram to clear things up... But that's okay.

Ugh, DH and I are still sick! Okay, we're not sick anymore - but we've had this cough for over three weeks now and my chest just feels full! It's getting kind of scary. It doesn't hurt, it's just annoying. I thought I was better, but spending so much time outside yesterday made it SO bad! I'm starting to wonder if it might be allergies. I've never had allergies in my chest like this, but I heard this year is going to be BAD for allergies because we never really got a winter and our trees never went dormant. Oh man, I am not looking forward to that! Plus I'm not comfortable taking allergy meds while pregnant, so I'm going to have to suck it up and deal. Boo!

Since Nat was sick yesterday and Dana had hockey yesterday I ended up at work today.

I have a bit of a vent about my in-laws.

I found out yesterday that my BIL's cat that he has had several years now is not fixed, his excuse, they haven't had the money to do it. Yet he's had money for plenty of material positions including video games, for him and his 4 kids, several new computers, a new couch... MIL is just as bad, she has a cat that's 8 or 9 months and it's unfixed, she uses the same excuses and is also spending her money on crap. It's just plan irresponsible I can't believe these people! I am all for spaying and neutering your pets, especially if you aren't a breeder (and with their pets they are not breeders). :firemad:

Whoops. naptime's over.

Mary: that's awesome that she got back to you so fast (and with good news!)

Katie: thanks Smile Sorry your kiddos have been sick, but at least Rory is sleeping for you! My kids are anti-sleep when they don't feel well.

Lauren: sorry you're sick, yuck. My pediatrician said the main flu strain going around this year is affecting the respiratory system so maybe it's that? Hope you feel better soon, being sick blows. Yay for Oing! Yahoo We have taken a pretty similar approach to PT'ing and are just starting to take her out without underwear (we did pull-ups the first few weeks until I felt brave). We've had one big accident in underwear while out, but I just carry extra pants in my bag and she was pretty upset so I think it has kept her from doing it again. The only downer is having to take her to the bathroom EVERYWHERE in these nasty public bathrooms, not to mention I'm usually holding Dane too. So fun, right? I still put her in diapers at night and she wakes up dry about 50% of the time...I think it's just a process of them gaining control.

Amanda: I get hugely annoyed with people who don't spay/neuter their pets (especially outdoor cats with "access"). I don't even like when people purposely have their pet have babies because "they'll be sooo cute" or whatever - there are way too many homeless pets (as Katie can attest to!).

Virginia: I've been thinking the same thing that his new skills are contributing to his bad sleeping. I've really been working with him the past few days and it seems to be helping a bit little by little.

I thought my kids would sleep in today but Dane was up at 6:45 (after waking up at 4:30 to eat) :coffee: It's garbage day so I bet a truck woke him up, but so much for the time change getting him to sleep in! Brekke is still sleeping after waking up for about a half hour during the night to nightmares. It's so sad because she gets so freaked out that there are bugs in her bed and it takes forever to calm her back down.

My in-laws don't purposely breed their pets but it's difficult to prevent, even with indoor animals.

I do understand breeding of dogs that way you know what you are getting in the the way of temperament and health concerns. I have a mutt, who is kind of a rescue, MIL bought her at a store that buys from puppy mills (of course they claim they don't) and was told she would be a lap dog, MIL didn't get what she expected, instead she got a medium sized dog and couldn't handle her so we ended up taking her in. Anyway because she is a mutt and we didn't really know what to expect, she has some sensitivities that we could have avoided if we got a pure breed. That said I still would get a rescue as my next, but I think I would look into a breed I would prefer.

Morning ladies!

Lauren - GLad you finally O'd hope you're feeling better!

Amanda - UGH on the pets. I'm not at all anti-breeding when people do a good job of it but I don't really get casual pet owners who don't alter. Who needs more kittens in the world?

Man I was up most the night. Rory's been coughing we went back to the doc yesterday and we got some abuterol poor kid then last night he spiked a fever. So no one got any sleep and I'm home today with him. When Evan is sick he sleeps and sleeps when Rory is sick he cries. Sigh. Tomorrow I have 10,000 things to do at work so either my mom or Steve will have to take him if he is still sick. His fever seems better this morning. We'll see....

I hope Rory feels better soon.
I hope you feel better, too, Lauren!
And I hope every gets some sleep soon. Me included. Alex and Oliver woke up at 5am. WTF. Raymond is a sound sleeper, but the younger two wake each other up pretty often.
Oliver is funny when he wakes up. When we moved him in with the others we had to put one of the dressers near his crib. So when he wakes he opens a drawer and starts grabbing Alex's t-shirts and building himself a nest in the crib. From age 2-3 Raymond would do that with his clothes during naptime. He's empty his whole dresser, piles the clothes, them sleep on that instead of his bed.

Amanda - I neutered Peanut when he was I think 7.5 months. They recommended to do it as close to 6 months as possible in order to prevent some of those behaviors, but I was on a family trip to Hawaii for a couple weeks at that time and DH watched him for me (we weren't married yet). Anyway, he will still try to hump your arm or leg when he gets excited, GRR. I always wonder if that month and a half made a difference? My cousin's cat recently had like a MILLION kittens (seriously, some freakishly huge litter, I forget how many)... Someone on her facebook criticized her for not having it fixed (because I think she had ANOTHER cat that was also still pregnant). She got pissy about it, but it's so true!

Lauren - Yay for finally Oing and being in the 2ww!! As for the citations for the bar... They will be the same each time, EXCEPT for the nights when we have to call more than once. Like we call and they cite them or whatever... But then they defiantly get loud again (this happens a lot). So we'll just call again. And again if necessary. So in that situation where it's within the same 24-hr period, on repeat offenses (usually they give them 3 strikes, I think)... They can arrest whoever is working and shut the bar down for the night! Yessss...

Virginia - Too funny about Oliver's sleep habit, hahah. Cute. Smile

Ash - Sorry Brekke is having nightmares. Booo! Sean hasn't really had nightmares yet. He did have what I would call "night terrors" maybe like a year ago. He would be crying inconsolably and you could NOT snap him out of it.

Katie - A possible work change sounds exciting. I NEED one. I get so tired of the day-to-day. And I found out they've delayed our store getting that upgrade I had mentioned, so no change in my immediate future anymore. Well, excluding the fact that I'm still job searching in the area where we want to move. The only listings I can find for there are part-time though, which sucks... It's the way of the world right now, no one wants to pay for benefits like insurance, etc. I really hope I can keep my same job and get into a store in that area, but there are only like 2 nearby, so I dunno... I have great benefits (401k match, stock options, etc) and okay insurance though, so I'd like to keep it.

AFM - Speaking of work... I posted about this on fb, but this was my excitement yesterday. I discovered that a guy tried calling in a fake prescription for tramadol. It's not actually a controlled substance in this state, but it is in some states, and it SHOULD be. Theoretically, it shouldn't be abused/addictive, but it's a relative of the other narcotic pain meds and people totally abuse it. Anyway... They tried to call in a prescription for it to me over the weekend and it felt fishy to me, so I waited until yesterday morning to call the doc's office to verify. Well, on the recording that answers the phone, it says that particular doctor no longer works in the office and if you're one of his patients, you should find a new doctor. So I finally talk to a nurse who tells me the Rx is fake. Meanwhile, I had pulled a report that shoes all the controlled substances this person has filled in the state in the last year. He has gotten over 6500 tablets of it in the last year under that doctor and one other doctor (the equivalent of 17+ tablets a day... maximum safe dose is 8/day). So I talk to the other doctor he was getting them under... They're all fake too. 6500+ tablets (and who knows how many since the report just goes back a year). I was sooo happy to catch it on his first try at our pharmacy. All the others were mostly at nearby grocery store pharmacies. Wow.

Katie - I hope everyone is feeling better soon.

Virginia - I couldn't imagine kids getting up super early, hope your kids give you a break.

Mary - Great job at catching the person doing something illegal.

*AFM*

I don't think my in-laws really care cause their cats are male, they don't see the consequences of their actions.

Talking of in-laws, DH's niece that lived with us is now causing trouble with her grandma (my MIL) that she's living with, no big surprise there. MIL is asking DH for help with the situation, DH told me he's not getting involved. I'm hoping this is true, cause we don't need any more of their drama.

Natalie did better yesterday, lets hope she is well and can go back to school tomorrow. I have something due at work on Thursday and already missed two days in the office. I did bring the laptop home so I have done some work at home but it's difficult to get anything done when taking care of a 3 year old.

We got our taxes done, got a good refund, going to pay down some debts, get DH's car tires changed back over for the warm weather and hopefully get a fence built.

Anyway trying to get some work done so I should really get back to it.

Amanda - I think unneutered males cats would be worse. Maybe your relatives have lost their sense of smell. Ew. My boy kitties were neutered at 5 months (the earliest the vet would do it). I did not want to risk them learning to spray.

Mary - you seem really good at catching those fake prescriptions. I'm impressed.

AFM: I'm feeling more like TTC for a baby sometime during 2013's good weather (spring to early fall). Who knows how I'll feel tomorrow.

Our male cat matured faster than we thought, he sprayed once (vet called it pre-spray cause it didn't stink bad) just before 5 months so we called the vet and he was more then OK fixing him. And don't get me going on my in-laws cleanliness, they make my house look spotless (and it's far from that).

Mary, wtg catching the phony prescription!

Amanda, hope you're able to catch up on work.

Ash, awww poor Brekke. Sorry your sleep is suffering.

Katie, sorry Rory is sick. Hope he's feeling better.

AFM, feeling better today. Hope it stays that way. I seem to have a good day, then feel like junk again, then have another good day, etc... I'm sick of the cycle! PT'ing is going about the same, except now Xander only wants to pee for Daddy. *sigh* I have no idea where that came from! So now he's holding it all morning until DH is home for lunch. It's only been a day of this, so hopefully he just gets over it. I think it's because I was majorly crabby yesterday from being sick and probably wasn't as patient with him as I should have been.

Mary: NICE JOB! That blows my mind that he'd made it past that many pharmacies with a fake prescription

Amanda: glad Natalie seems to be doing better and GL staying out of the issues with DH's niece

Virginia: how funny that Oliver does that too! So bizarre how the oddest little things seem to be hereditary. Sorry your kids are up early. Dane has been waking up early too...you'd think the time change would have the opposite effect!

Lauren: sorry little man's being a booger about PTing. They are so funny with their dumb little phases. Brekke didn't want to use her potty for like 2 days the second week or so of PT'ing and it was so frustrating.

Dane is sleeping a little better...at least he's been consistently waking up around 4:30 am to eat, then sleeping until 6:30 or so. Brekke has been sleeping until 9 am when I finally go wake her up, then I have to fight her to nap - funny how differently the time change affected them. I just spent the last few days dusting my blinds, but I'm so happy to have them all dust-free finally. I think I had 18 to do, so it took FOREVER. Probably won't do that for another year (haha)

Amanda - Ugh, good luck with the niece situation. I remember how much that living situation sucked for you. It's sad for her, but at the same time, she needs to be respectful.

Virginia - I'm wishy-washy on the ttc thing this time too. Right now, we're at a point where we're more motivated to get out of here, so I'm good with waiting as long as necessary for that to happen. I did have a dream last night that I got a surprise positive HPT. The only reason I tested was because I had been feeling nauseated. It was some fancy test that estimated your gestational age... It put me between 11-12 weeks, hahaha. I'd be shocked if I ever made it to 5 weeks without knowing I was pregnant. Wink

Ashley - Cleaning blinds does not sound like a good time. I know I need to do mine NOW. We just washed all the curtains and whatnot, but I could not bring myself to do the blinds, hahah.. ugh.

Lauren - I hope you're back to 100% soon. Or at least if you feel like crap, it should be as a side effect of pregnancy. Wink Boo for the PTing woes. I sorta gave up on it again for the time being. He goes through phases where he wants to do it all the time, then he has no interest. Maybe I'll try hardcore again in a few months.

AFM - Yesterday was my day off after my long 9-day week and it was GORGEOUS!! Sunny, the temp got up to around 75-76. It was amazing. We had some gift cards from the IL's to the outlet mall, so we went shopping. I got a ton of clothes, mostly for spring/summer. I did find a few really nice sweaters for fall/winter for like 10 bucks. Woohoo! DH isn't a big shopper, but he did get maybe 4-5 shirts. They have a big playground area there, so we let Sean play for a while before we left. Calvin must had been tired... He slept through most of it.

Lauren - I've been told cold/flu season hit late this year and is in full gear NOW. The gal at work who handles all the OTC meds was told that then my pedi confirmed it. I hope you're feeling better and you caught the egg!

Ashley - GL with Dane! Sleep has been crap here with Rory sick. He went 12-5am last night and it was AMAZING. I was feeling like a total zombie so it was very necessary!

Mary - Sounds like a great day off! And good job catching the guy at the pharmacy!

Well I think Rory is on the mend. We're still doing the nebulizer a couple times a day and it seems to help and he had a fever for a night but that's totally gone. Like I said above he actually slept last night which was fantastic. i'm stuffy today, not shocking surrounded by sick kids, sick coworkers and getting no sleep I have a cold. It seems mild enough though. We haven't been able to enjoy any of the nice weather with everyone sick, hopefully that will change this weekend!

Yay for good sleepers! We've been getting some sleep, too. Last night Oliver slept 7:30 to 6:30. Yahoo I think the problem is that he's dropping a nap. So, when he takes 2 naps (or, rather, sleeps more then 3 hours during the day) he doesn't sleep well at night. Alex is doing something similar with his nap.

Lauren - nice temps.

Mary - I can't wait for that weather to come my way!

I hope everyone feels healthy soon. Nothing exciting going on here. Just a rainy day with a huge stack of preschool enrollment forms to fill out for Alex. woohoo.

Virginia, they give you a "stack" of preschool enrollment forms? Yikes, I figured it was like one sheet. lol. I love that you're stalking me, btw. heh.

Katie, sorry you're getting sick now. The mom is always the last one sick... Funny how that goes. I guess we have to get everyone else better first!

Mary, sounds like you had a great day. Wish I had an outlet mall nearby, that'd be great!

Ash, I just cleaned my blinds too. Not a fun chore at all!

AFM, I'm 6DPO right now and my temps are slowly raising each day. Horray! I probably won't test until 12DPO at the earliest, and man does that feel like a freakin' eternity!! I have a couple dollar store tests, so maybe I'll test earlier just for the heck of it. I got a BFN for Xander on 10DPO, so I'm hesitant to test too early... I'm super crampy today, like pre-AF cramps. That sort of worries me, but at the same time I remember the same thing happening when I was pregnant with Xander. Plus I keep getting this really sharp shooting pain in my cervix, almost like a small electrical shock (if that makes sense). It's not constant, but it happened while I was working out today and when we went for a long walk.

Potty training back on track today, he's been great at going potty all day! I'm going to lose the naptime diaper starting Monday, so I'm preparing myself to wash sheets for a few days until he figures out how not to pee/poop during nap and make sure he does it before/after. He HATES having accidents, so I'm hoping he gets it really quick.

Those sound like great symptoms, Lauren! I remember one of the only weird things during my LP during my 2nd pregnancy was that my stretchmarks started itching like crazy. And I remember having those cervix pains throughout early pregnancy. I'll definitely keep stalking. Wink

We're having a family photo done today. Fingers crossed it goes well.

Lauren - The symptoms sound good. I see you're 8 dpo now. When do you plan to test? I can't wait! I'm glad the PTing has been going better. We're still not really pushing it, but I do love every time he has a little success on his own. Last night, he was in the tub and he stood up and started sorta grabbing at his man parts. He has recently been fixated on playing with them  so I figured that's what he was doing. Then I saw him start to dribble a bit and he looked all concerned, so I asked if he had to pee. He said yes, and was able to stop peeing long enough to get on the potty, then had a BIG pee. Woohoo!

Virginia - Good luck with the pictures! I hope they manage to get all three boys looking and smiling at the same time.. I know it's not an east task just with my two!

ETA: What is it about potential O-time and baby fever?? I swear it will pass as soon as the egg is gone, lol, but it's annoying. Well, I'm not really sure if/when I'll O.. But it's CD16 for me, and I've started getting more CM, albeit not that fertile in quality. I'm still leaking BM (yes, 2.5 months later :WTF: ), so I guess my body is just taking its good old time figuring it out this time. Annoying!

Is the day over yet? DH isn't home (gone to London on a work trip) Nat woke last night, and then at 5am a spam number called me. So I am beat. Guess it's a Monday, can't wait until tonight when Nat is in bed and I can relax.

Amanda, sorry about the loss of sleep! I cannot believe they called you at 5 am!

Mary, I always got/get baby fever around O time. I guess that's nature, eh? heh.

Virginia, oh I hope the family photo turns out!!!

AFM, I'm 9dpo today and seriously freaking out. This is about the time I'd start spotting if AF were to show, so every time I use the bathroom I'm convinced I'm going to see blood. I'm super duper crampy today, so it's kind of putting me on edge. However, it's more cramping than I'd usually get before AF, so I'm hoping that's a good sign. I've also peed about 15 times today and am ready to kill DH for no reason at all. lol. Those could all be pre-AF signs, so I'm trying not to read too much into them......... Honestly, I don't feel pregnant at all - not like I did with Xander. I know that doesn't mean anything, really, but it's hard not to think negatively. I'm just not feeling it. I think the earliest I'll test is Thursday (12dpo). If AF hasn't shown by then, odds are I'm pregnant. Here's hoping!

Today is the first time I'm going to put Xander down to nap in just underwear. He'll most likely have an accident, but I'm hoping it'll only take a few for him to get it. Ah I hope so! I don't want to have to wash sheets every day!!

amanda - i'm looking forward to bedtime tonight, too.

Mary - GL with the O time baby fever.

AFM - photo went okay. Oliver and Alex were not feeling cooperative. But we got a couple acceptable ones. Nice weather the next few days. We actually got the little pool out today. the water was freezing but Alex had a blast.
