Sorry everyone is feeling so gross. I really hope the bug doesn't make it over here. There's no way I could handle sick kids right now. Or sick DH.

Katie - I haven't gotten around to weaning Oliver yet, either. I'm at the point (8-9 weeks pregnant) when the others weaned, but he hasn't shown any loss of interest.

AFM: Today has actually been my best day in about 3 weeks. I'm enjoying it, but I'm sure the m/s will be back to normal soon.

And I hate shopping for clothes. I have two evening, formal weddings to attend at 19-20 weeks (a week apart. ugh. I really dislike weddings.) and I have no idea what to do about a dress. I have nothing formal which will fit at that point, there's no way I'll fit maternity clothes (they're all huge on me even when I'm 9 months along) and I don't want to spend a ton on something I'll only be wearing twice. I'd probably make some excuse and skip the weddings, but they're not really skippable.

Virginia - Old Navy has some pretty cute smaller maternity clothes, might want to take a peek there. You could also get away with a cute little sun dress if it's not too formal of a wedding, I could wear sun dresses all summer.

Something with an empire might work too. since the tightest part is just below the breasts.

Virginia - I had a wedding that I had to go to at 16-ish weeks, and I found a wrap-style maternity dress that worked. It was great because it was a true wrap, not just designed to look like a wrap, so it was fully adjustable to fit. I had to try on quite a few things before I found it, but it looked good, so it was worth the search.

AFM - I posted it on fb, but I'll update it here. Calvin ended up with some of my stomach funk. It's sad, because I was actually a bit relieved yesterday when he decided to puke ALL over me (and himself). I was dressed and getting ready to leave for work, of course, so I had to scramble for new clothes and wipe myself down with baby wipes. Fun times. But I was starting to worry that it was a pregnancy-related thing, and that I was either going to go into labor early or I was going to spend the next two months in misery, so I was relieved to know it was apparently just a virus or something.

In other news, my work partner has his first chemo appointment Monday. Actually, I'm not sure if he's really getting a chemo treatment that day or if they're just finalizing the plan, but either way, he wanted the whole day off. So I'm working 14 hours on Monday, plus 2 hours of driving.. 32+2. My feet are going to be swollen huge by the end of that long day on my feet. The money will be nice, though. I'm trying to suck up as much of his time off as I can before my maternity leave so that my leave won't deplete as much of our savings to get out of this house. Our market is crappy right now, so sadly, we'll be happy to just break even on our loan and not have to pay to get out. Blah.

Mary - Sorry to hear Calvin is sick, glad the yuckiness wasn't the pregnancy.

Hope your long day isn't too stressful.

Mostly quiet day today, in the office working on our catalogue. Had a power out a short while ago, since our database is on a computer I got a little break from the grind.

I had some pink spotting this afternoon. I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon and I'll ask about it then. I just checked and got a beautiful HB close to 180bpm, but I'm still so scared. I was just starting to relax, get excited, and think about telling the kids.

Virginia - I had some pink spotting around that time in my pregnancy with Natalie, turned out to be nothing, hoping it's the same for you.

My appointment went fine. And I got an u/s.

There's baby, measuring 9w0d with a HB of 180. That's the good news.
There are now two areas of bruising/bleeding. One tiny, one a lot bigger. The MW didn't see too worried, especially since the spotting has stopped. I'm going to try to take it easy and I just have to keep hoping it doesn't cause any problems for baby.

Virginia: Awe cute baby!! I love "gummy bear" baby u/s pics. Glad to hear things look good with him/her, crossing my fingers the bruised areas don't cause any issues. Spotting is scary no matter what, but I'm sure especially with your history you can't help but be freaked out *hugs* I had to attend a VERY formal even when I was about 4-5 months pregnant with one of my other kids and bought a dress at Target for like $30 that worked great and I've worn not pregnant since.

Mary: sorry the sickness is working it's way around your house. Ugh. And yikes to the leakage

Katie: that's crazy that you were that uncomfortable when you were out of town - I would've figured he didn't drink that much too.

Amanda: hope Dana has a good tournament! Sorry about the school situation, what a pain.

Jen: I can't imagine trying to keep a house in "ready to show" condition with my wild/messy kids!

Brekke had her first dentist appointment today and surprisingly did GREAT! The dental assistant that did her cleaning was so sweet with her and talked her through the whole thing and was silly with her. She ended up letting them polish AND floss them, wow. I was shocked. I got mine done too and the hygienist was pretty good about keeping my super sensitive preggo gums from being too uncomfortable. We have our season opener game for our MLS team this weekend and I'm soooo excited!! It's been crazy warm here (like high 60's, low 70's) the past few days and it's such a great break from the 20's we were having a month ago. It should be about 50 this time of year so I'm soaking it in while it lasts.

Virginia - I'm glad the u/s was okay and the spotting seems to have stopped. At least you can see on the u/s where the spotting was likely from, and it wasn't related to baby. When I had bleeding with Calvin, they never were able to find any source of the bleed, and it was really unnerving. I know it's unnerving to bleed at all during pregnancy. I hope that was the last of it for you.

Ashley - Woohoo for success at the dentist! I need to get Sean in for his first appointment, but I dread it. He will freak out, I'm sure. We just got his hair cut, and for the first time ever, he didn't have an official meltdown, but he sat there and moaned the whole time like we were torturing him, LOL.

AFM - 32 weeks today. WOW. Time flies. In crappy news, my car died on the way home from work the other night (Thursday? They all run together, haha). I got off work at 10pm, and remember my drive is an hour to get home. I didn't make it far out of the town where I work, probably 15 minutes, before it started acting funny. Several panel lights came on, including ones that didn't make sense, like the traction control lights. I noticed that I seemed to have more exhaust than all the other cars on the highway, and I realized it was abnormal... I usually can't see my own exhaust while I'm driving, even when it's cold. And also, my temperature gauge was all the way down to cold. I called DH and told him it was acting funny... I don't think he took me entirely seriously (he thinks I overreact about things, so he always under-reacts to balance me, haha). So finally, I told him I was really serious, I didn't feel like I should be driving it, and I wanted him to come get me. I still had several miles to go, but I wanted to get it to the exit we take to visit my parents because there is a parking lot there for people who carpool, so I thought it would be a good place to leave my car. Well, I got off at the exit ramp and there's a traffic light at the end. It was red, so I was going to have to stop... And then it died. It made a grinding noise followed by a LOT of smoke coming out from under the hood... and it died. I was able to use my momentum to at least get it off the edge of the road.

Then comes the REALLY awesome part. DH called me shortly thereafter to tell me he was on his way to see me, but they had the entire highway shut down going east-bound for an accident. I had no idea how long he would be stuck sitting there. I had been talking to my parents in between talking to DH, so I called my parents back and told them they should come (they live 40 minutes away from where I was stuck). I talked to DH some more... He watched two life-flight helicopters land, then take off. I later saw the car from the accident, and it had gone WAY off the interstate, through a wire fence and into some trees. It looked pretty bad. It was a good reminder not to be too upset with my own crappy situation, as it can always be worse. So my parents ended up beating DH to me, and my dad used his truck to pull my car to the parking lot that I was trying to get to. I told DH just to turn around and go home. He ended up barely beating me home... Crazy. So I usually get home around 11pm, it was 12:30am by the time we got home. Ugh.

I had my car towed to the dealership where I bought it yesterday, was hoping someone from the service dept could give me an estimate today on what needs fixed and how much it's going to cost, but no such luck. I won't have an estimate until at least Monday now. I'm half tempted just to get a new car, but we'll wait and see what the damage is first. Ughhhhh.....

Mary - sorry about the sickness and about the car situation. Now it's time for something good to happen already!

Ash - I'm so glad Brekke did good at the dentist and you didn't have to deal with my nightmare.

Virginia - I hope you're able to find an inexpensive dress for the weddings. Love the u/s pic, glad all is well.

    Hi everyone else.

AFM - Why do things always get so much worse before they get better? I've been stressed enough with all this dental stuff and some other little stuff, but then I got hit with something huge. My mom has breast cancer. We are all completely floored, no one (doctors included) thought that was what it was. She'd had a spot monitored for about a year now, but they thought it was scar tissue. But they kept tabs on it anyway, giving her a mammogram every 3 months for the last year. Last week was supposed to be her last one before they were going to let her go back to annual ones and they noticed it had moved a little... They still thought nothing of it, but wanted a biopsy anyway just because they wanted to make sure sure sure before they let her go back to annual mammos. Well, it turned out to actually be cancer! On the bright side, though, it is very small and they're pretty sure it must be stage 1 (though they won't know for sure til they remove it). Still, scary scary scary. So please keep her in your T&P's if you can.

I'm just ready for something really good to happen for once, ya know? It feels like it's been awhile.
