Okay, so since I hate to keep popping into the chat thread and talking only about myself (because I always decide to post when I have about .00005 seconds), I thought I'd start up a thread I can randomly update!
Alright, I'll start off with bullet points because I just told Owen we'd go outside and he's disappeared upstairs to pick out his own clothes.Oy.
Okay, here it is briefly!
- Yes, still pregnant!
- Yes, still trying for a VBAC! As of last u/s (at 36 weeks) cord was not around his neck! They also haven't said any more to me about him being too big, so, whew!
- Saturday night I had about an hour of intense contractions, but I couldn't time them because they were so disorganized. They then fizzled out!
- Yesterday (Sunday) morning, I lost my plug! It had a single streak of red/pink in it. So, bloody show?!
- Last night I had a few strong, ouchy contractions, but then (and still) nothing.
So far, that's it. I will keep you all posted.![]()
Yay! KUP!! Glad the cord is no longer around the neck.![]()

Blah, ladies! I am still here! Tomorrow will be a week since I lost my plug! Anyhow, here are some (crazy) updates from the last week. I had my 39 week appointment on Thursday...
- Still 1 cm and 50-60% effaced.
- Doctor stripped my membranes without asking me!!!
- Baby is still super high at -4 (or is that +4? I can never remember the difference!)
- Had to go for a fetal growth/amniotic fluid check u/s after my appointment (fluid looks good, baby measuring in at ~8.4 lbs.)
After my appointments on Thursday, I was driving home and literally in a TON of pain. It felt like one big giant contraction the entire way around my middle that wouldn't let up. I literally thought I was going to throw up! I ended up having to pull over at a Chick-fil-a nearby and had to get out of the car it hurt THAT bad. My friend said that wasn't normal and I should call my doc back, so I did since I was really close to the office. They had me come in for another check (labor assessment they called it, which I laughed about because seriously, what can happen in 3 hours?).
Wouldn't you know it, when I got checked just THREE hours later, I was 4 cm! I went from a 1-4 in 3 hours. I was still only about 50% effaced, though, and baby was still high. The doctor then proceeded to tell me that he'd see me either that night or tomorrow (Friday) to deliver, and that I WON'T be getting a VBAC because baby is too big and my pelvis is too small. I say BS to that! I said there was no way I was consenting to a c/s at this point and that I at least wanted a trial of labor, which he agreed to.
Well, that was two days ago, and NOTHING. My painful contractions petered out over the afternoon, and since then, NOTHING. I get some painful ones every now and then, but nothing else. I am sooo frustrated! I just want this baby out! I'm afraid he's going to get too big and then they really won't let me deliver naturally. Ugh!
Anyhow, I go back on Tuesday for my 40 week appointment and an NST. So, we'll see what happens. Hopefully I don't have to go to that, though! I'd like to have him... tonight!Oh well, at least I'm nearly halfway dilated now, right?
Anyhow, thought I'd update!
GL! I hope you can deliver naturally! Since I only have giant babies I know it's not impossibleBut I hope he comes easily and SOON! and no matter how healthy and screaming

wow! what a crazy week. I think that's the best way to do labor, actually. Get started, get a break, then get back to it in a few days. 4cm is a great place to 'begin". Good luck, and I hope you get your vbac.

I'd like to know why the heck the doc bothered to strip your membranes without asking you if his plan was to try to push a c/s on you anyway. That said, holy cow... I can't believe you went from 1-4 so fast like that, and then... NOTHING! Little man is just playing games with you now, hahaha.Good luck. Sounds like it's going to be VERY soon!
