November Chat Thread

Happy November! Where is everyone??

AFM - Two people in my facebook friends had babies today on 11/1/11... Thought that was pretty cool! One was in my HS class who already had one preemie (this one made it further, maybe 36 or 37 weeks and was born half a pound bigger than Cal), the other was a technician I worked with in IL who had a set of baby boy/girl twins that were pretty young when I lived there, so this was her third.

Wow October flew by! Happy November!

I'll try to get the pictures of the girls posted in the next couple of days from Halloween.

Right now I need to get Natalie in bed, she's lying down in my bed at the moment.

I'm busy, as usual. Wink Last night was awesome. Raymond got tired of ToT earlier than I expected (I was home handing out candy) but 10 min after they got back Alex started out the door for round 2. I had to chase him down with his costume. Lol I'll get a pic up eventually. Oh, the toddler party went well, too.

I've been super exhausted the last few days. If it weren't impossible (no O) I'd suspect I was pregnant. Ugh. Must be waking up while it's still dark out.

How are you doing, Mary? I didn't get a chance to say earlier, but your crazy EWCM sounds like a normal gear up to first O while BFing... at least from my experience.

Amanda - I can't wait to see your pictures!

HAPPY NOVEMBER! I'm having a BABY this month!!! EEK!

Daycare parade was cute. Evan had fun. I've eaten WAY too much junk at work and feel like a WHALE.

My BB keeps having more babies I don't want to wait 3 more weeks LOL I'm READY!

AHHHHH! A friend on my Facebook just posted they adopted a baby, now I want one. Though she is an odd one and it may just be that she got another mannequin for her store, she makes hair accessories and tutu's. Either way the baby fever is no fun. I'll keep you posted on what's going on when she gets pics up.

HAPPY NOVEMBER!

Katie, YAY a baby this month!!!!!!!!!!!! Yahoo

Virginia, glad the party went well. Sounds like Alex loved ToT'ing!

Mary, what a fun birthday for those babies.

Amanda, sorry about the baby fever. It doesn't take much to set it off, does it? Wait, so you're not sure if she adopted a real baby or a mannequin?

AFM, Halloween was a lot of fun. Xander was not happy about his Elmo costume at first, but once we got outside he was happy to wear the hood (it was cold). He was a little shy at first with the ToT'ing (except our neighbors who he knew), but after a few houses he was a pro and was RUNNING down the sidewalk to each house. By the end we even got him to knock on a few doors and he even tried to walk into one persons house. He had a great time watching the other kids and getting all caught up in hordes of them. haha. That's not usually his personality, but I guess he was just really excited or something. Or overtired. It was past bedtime. heh.

In other news, AF started a few days ago. Hopefully I'll only have one more AF after this before I can get pregnant. Hopefully.

Alrighty update on my friend, her daughter wanted a Zombie doll, so they got her one on sale after Halloween, that was their "baby". I knew it would be something odd.

Glad you all had a good Halloween! I'm ready for TG now... Even though I'm working TG night, so I won't get to go to my big family dinner or anything. Boo! DH said he'd get up early and cook turkey and stuff before I go to work. Smile I'll help of course.

Lauren - I hope the next cycle goes by quickly so you can get back into TTC mode.

Katie - Not too much longer! Hang in there... And take lots of big belly pics!!

Virginia - Glad your party went well. Smile Boooo for the exhaustion. I feel ya! As for how I'm feeling... Not even remotely out of the ordinary. I broke down and bought some of those cheapo HPT's from the internet, but they just shipped out today, so I don't have them yet. It would be too early to find anything out anyway. The timing would still be very, very bad for us, so I'm really hoping I didn't have an "oops". Of course I'd be thrilled about it if it happened, but timing could definitely be better.

Cal has been sick again. Sad I've had no success with feeding him solids AT ALL. For some reason, he can't tolerate baby food. I've been SO SLOW to give him any, and then when I do, he vomits profusely for hours, gets diarrhea, etc. We saw the doc today and she started him back on his zantac in the event that it's just a reflux related thing. we're going to slowly offer him very small amounts of solids each day (like a couple spoons full) and she's also having him do a blood test for food allergies... it's unlikely at his age, but it's just another thing to rule out. If those things don't work, or he is unable to increase his intake of solids after 3-4 weeks, we might have to resort to a test where he swallows barium and they can check how he swallows and how the food moves through his GI tract. And if that doesn't come up abnormal and nothing is getting better, then we'll see a GI specialist. Ugh.... I just hope this is no huge deal. He's fine if he's drinking breast milk, but that's it. Give him any significant quantity of food, and it's over. Ugh... So we spent all last night with Cal vomiting until he was empty, then dry heaving, screaming like he was in pain, etc... Sad

And... Does anyone watch "The Little Couple"?? It's the reality show about the 'little people' who are married... She's like a little over 3 feet and he's around 4' even. Anyway, they're trying to have a surrogate pregnancy, because it was deemed too risky for her to carry a baby and it would inevitably be a preemie. Anyway, so they just found out in this episode that they got pregnant, but then had an update from 6 weeks later where they miscarried. SOOOO sad, omg. I was teary-eyed. So many of their thoughts and emotions that they talked about were exactly what I went through... All the way to the end when they said the one thing it did was to solidify the fact that this is what they want, and they will try again. The surrogate said she will try again also. I hope it works for them!!

Amanda - that's a little bizarre lol and sorry about the baby fever!

Lauren - that is so cute! We didn't ToT we're lame LOL but it sounds like Xander had a blast! Yay for 1 more off cycle! Hopefully once you get to TTC it's fast!

Mary - That's so strange on Cal! Apparently the last 2 days at daycare Evan has thrown up at lunch. He CHOWED dinner tonight no puking so I don't know what's up with that. Hopefully Cal does better with some time. Poor kiddo

AFM - I'm TIRED! DH and I have been up way too late and it's caught up with me. 37 weeks and full term tomorrow! My boss keeps giving me things at work and I keep trying to get them done but he isn't really grasping that in a MAX of 3 weeks I will be out. They still have NO concrete plan for my responsibilities. Sigh. I HATE that. We need a plan I'm full term while I might make it 3 more weeks I might not a PLAN would be good here people!

Mary, so sorry Cal isn't holding down solids. I hope it isn't anything serious. Too bad about missing TG dinner. I'm deliriously excited about TG this year! We missed it last year because Xander had strep throat and we had to stay home, then we didn't want to make a turkey for just us and had a pork tenderloin instead. I want my turkey, dangit! lol

Katie, haha, isn't this what happened last time you were due? No real plan at work? Hope they get their act together!

AFM, just got back a bit ago from having professional pictures taken of Xander for the first time. We just had them done at Walmart since we were scared he'd flip out and we wouldn't get any pictures (and then you just get that cheapie $9 plan that doesn't give you anything). Well, we actually managed to get him in a good mood (with M&M's - yes, I bribed my kid with candy) and got some great pictures. He even let me change his clothes halfway through for some different pictures. I'm so happy we got a lot of great pics! Of course then you're slapped with a huge bill because they're kind of shady and won't tell you any prices beforehand (I flat out asked!) and then they only have a few packages available - all very very expensive. Cheaper than a professional photographer, but still it came to like $180 at the end! WITH a 20% off coupon too! At least we got a CD with all of the pictures and the copyright to them. I would've JUST bought the CD, but that alone is $250! How odd! lol. Makes sense, though. They don't want you to just buy the CD. haha. The lady included a free sheet because she really wanted me to order this one picture that she loved, but I wasn't going to order. haha. I'll take it if it's free! lol.

Lauren - glad you got some good pics. Definitely sketchy that they wouldn't tell you prices first!

Mary - I hope Cal's okay! If you end up with the barium test, I had to have one done once TMI the barium comes out as massive diarrhea after. It's pretty nasty.

Amanda - what a weird thing to post for buying a doll.

Katie - Love the belly pic on the other thread! Is there any chance Evan is gagging himself or just eating too quickly because he wants to play more? My kids have thrown up at meals for both those reasons.

AFM: My ILs read an article in the NY Times about people getting paid by Google after their youtube videos went viral. They want us to upload an amazing video of Raymond dancing at my sister's wedding last year. I'm torn. First, I kind of doubt it would actually go viral (everyone thinks their video is hilarious, I bet). If it did, it would be great to get money to save towards college, but I would also feel like I was exploiting my kid. (I've never uploaded anything to youtube... can you tell? Otherwise I'm sure I'd have no hangups). I kind of want to just upload it and see where it goes, but I bet DH will veto the whole idea.
In other news, my body's trying to O again. I'm so crampy and bloated and generally feeling gross. I bet it'll fizzle out. It's still pretty early, especially since Oliver still nurses ever 4 hours or less around the clock.

Virginia, SUCH ADORABLE PICTURES! What a bunch of cuties. I have a ton of stuff on YouTube, buuuut it's all "unlisted," meaning no one can publicly view it - they have to have the link I sent them to view the video. You can also make them private where no one can view them, I have a few like that as well. I wonder what it takes to make a video go viral... Hmmmm... Never thought about it before.

Let me preface this by saying damn these cheapo HPT's and their evap lines. Mildly freaking out. Have fun stalking me over the next few days. I'm not even sure what DPO I'd be today, but I would estimate 8-9dpo.

Virginia - Love the pics and the costumes! Too cute! I love the pic of Raymond in his ray costume next to the little ray. Biggrin

Katie - Happy Full Term Day Eve!! Woohoo for full term tomorrow! My god, your pregnancy FLEW.

Lauren - Pics are expensive... Crazy! That's part of why I'm determined to learn and get better at taking my own pictures. Plus I just love it. But dude... The first pics I had taken professionally of Sean were like $600 and I really wasn't even all that happy with the shots she got (not entirely her fault as he was a super crabby infant and started crying almost instantly). But still, the price was ungodly and the product wasn't that great. And it took FOREVER to get the prints. It was with the lady who did our wedding. Weddings are definitely her niche, not babies. I was much happier with those photos. Since then, I've just gone to Sears or something like that and/or taken my own.

AFM - Just freaking about the not-exactly-blank test... But it's blank enough that I could TOTALLY be imagining it, or it could be evap.

Nah, not even pic-worthy... Pretty sure it's a phantom line, created by my imagination, hahaha... I'll do it again tomorrow with FMU and see what happens.

DH made an interesting comment the other night when I mentioned the slim possibility of an oops. He said if I were pregnant now, he might be more inclined to go for #4, hahaha. What???!

In other news, Sean has 100% recognition and recall of all the letters now. So proud!! He also has a full sailor's vocabulary and uses the words in the right context... Not-so-proud. MUST censor self!!

AAAAAAHHHHHH!!! Can't wait to hear if there is any news from you!

Pretty sure I'm imagining it... There stupid cheapo tests... It's like I can see where the line SHOULD be or something, and then I get confused on if it's really anything or nothing or an evap... blah.

GL, Karen.
Mary - I want pics anyway! If it makes you feel better, I get phantom lines on cheapies all the time. Wink

Oliver was up 7 times in 5 hours last night. I'm exhausted. I have no idea what was going on with him. Oh, and did I mention TMI DH and I decided not to bother with prevention last night in spite of my EWCM. But, given my body's record while BFing I'm not really worried.

Okay... Pretty certain these are BFN's. Silly cheapo tests. I'll keep testing daily up till my doc appointment on Wednesday though, because I don't want any surprises at the appointment, hahaha.

Karen - So had you already gotten a positive test??

Virginia - I'll be anxiously waiting an announcement from you in 10 or so days, hahaha. Smile Sorry about the poor sleep.

HEHE you ladies are good at giving people fun things to stalk!

Sorry Karen - glad you're not disappointed though. 3 in diapers sounds daunting to me!

Mary - you wouldn't even be 10 DPO would you? Sooooo tomorrow Smile

Virginia - wow your DH is usually pretty careful isn't he? Even if it's unlikely I'll stalk in 10 or so days LOL

AFM - dog in a 1/2 hour. I think I'm going to skip the internal. Just don't feel like it and I haven't been having contractions or anything that would make me think I've progressed at all. Just a lot of pressure and discomfort b/c I'm feeling very low. On the bright side I had crazy horrible non stop heartburn with Evan and while I've had a little of it this time NOTHING like with Evan. SO hey the bright side of a low baby Smile

I'm not really sure because major EWCM went on for like 3 days. Oh crap!! I had my days mixed up yesterday... I was thinking it was further than it was... Today would only be 9dpo from the first day of EWCM, about 7 days from the last day of it. I guess I'm still not in the clear. I don't know why I was thinking yesterday that it was Friday. Probably bc my work schedule is a bit weird this week. Well anyway, I was pretty freaked out (not exactly in a good way) at the thought of a BFP, but I've had time to come to terms with it if it is. And a friend of mine from college just announced a pregnancy on fb, so that helps... I think I'll be happy either way at this point. There are pros to waiting, for sure, but I couldn't be disappointed with a little surprise blessing.

And yeah... Three in diapers??? Daunting, for sure! Hahaha... But then again, I don't know what it's like yet to have one out of diapers, so it's like I don't know what I'm missing. Wink

Hey girls - sorry I haven't been posting on the thread. Got Brekke completely off binkies (yay!) and Dane is starting to form a schedule of sorts so I'm really trying to push that. Brekke has decided she doesn't like when I'm on my computer so most of the online stuff I do right now is on my cell phone unless she's asleep but usually I have other stuff to do then. Anyway I do pop in and read though Smile DD & I both got head colds that have been lingering since Sunday (yeah totally ruined Halloween - boo!) and I'm SOOOO ready to feel normal again and be able to work-out (still have 8 lbs to lose).

Mary: I'll be watching the thread for what happens. Love me some good stalking! Your siggy pic is great.
Karen: have you started PTing Aiden already?
Katie: you are getting sooo close to baby time Biggrin I'm so excited!!
Virginia: yikes about 7 times in 5 hours...that is NEVER fun! Good luck with your little oops possibility...;) I love the adorable picture of your boys in the pumpkins! IDK about the YouTube thing...like you said, the odds of it actually going viral are pretty low anyway since there are literally millions of videos uploaded each day and only a handful that get seen by millions.
:wavehello: to everyone else!

I'll really try to pop in more.

Mary- I never tested... my chart went triphasic or whatever its called and my period is about 4 days late so I think there was something going on. I think we need to wait longer before trying again, if we do.

Ashley - Aiden uses the potty off and on. He has good days and bad. He put undies on himself today so Im hoping one of these days he will give up diapers completely.

Virginia- I hope you get a nap today.

Karen - GL with the PTing. I'm glad your okay with AF showing. Nap? ha. ha. ha. Maybe I'll get some sleep tomorrow while DH is home.

Mary - I think we'll be seeing something for you pretty soon.

Ash - hope you feel better soon! Yay for getting Dane on a schedule. we need one of those.

Katie - your post had me stumped for a while because you posted "dog in a 1/2 hour" which, with you, is always possible. I couldn't figure out what "internal" meant until I realized you meant "doc"! ROFL

AFM: oh, DH asked me what I thought the odds were. I think it's pretty darn unlikely. Even if I O, which I doubt I will (consider Oliver's sleep last night!), my first LP after each of the other boys was 4 days.

Ashley - Welcome back! Sorry to hear you guys have been sick. Blah. Hope you feel better soon.

Karen - Booo for the temp drop. Well, I suppose it's okay if you're okay with it... I do agree that I can't imagine having 3 in diapers, LOL. It is weird to wonder if you had a CP or something going on...Crazy with the triphasic chart. I had a chart go ALMOST triphasic once. All I needed was one more high temp and it was going to label it triphasic, but then it dropped. It was before we were TTC with Sean, so I got all excited for nothing, hahah.

AFM - I go back and forth on whether I think these are BFN's or positives just waiting to happen. I feel like these "evap" lines are getting darker (yeah, 4 tests in 2 days, and I'm only 9dpo at most, haha). I've easily gotten faint but obvious positives on FRER's at 9dpo before, but it's usually a couple days later on these cheapos.

I've decided that if they do turn out to be BFP's, I'm hiding it as long as humanly possible because I'd honestly be slightly embarrassed. Is that weird? I'm usually not one to care much about what others think... But someone at work the other day commented on someone in the drive-thru having two kids in car seats in their car and said that was crazy to have two little ones that young. Then she stopped herself because she remembered that I am in that situation as well as our other pharmacist. So then I thought, "Oh god, what will people say if I end up with another one when Cal is 17 months?!?!?" People seem to be a little anti-large-family nowadays, and especially with several very small children...

Virginia - Are you ever met with negativity for that reason ^^^

Mary- People will look at you like you are nuts. They do when I take all 3 boys out by myself and there is a 3 yr gap between Mason and Aiden. If only they knew there was another in between there! I really dont care what people think tho so it works for me Smile And 17 months isn't that crazy! I'm sure things will be fine either way.

I think I'm okay with it because we werent trying. We havent exactly been not trying either. We are using pull out. I am curious about what happened and I thought about taking a test because since I just started spotting it should still be positive it was but I think I'd rather just not know and consider it a normal AF.

I'd rather not know, too. It's just better that way, so you're not questioning what happened, what may have been, etc.

AFM - Yeah, 99.9% sure these are BFN's now. A little relieved, but you know... It's always more fun to see two lines, lol.

Mary - it's too early for you to be calling a BFN...
Oh yeah, I've met people who think I'm nuts. But I've also met people who have them closer than I do. (I know a woman who has 3 girls with 18m and 15m spacing... and is 41) But, those people usually say pretty quickly that they weren't planning it that way. I usually smile and tell people it's busy but I love it and want more. That usually shuts them up.
often I'm met with surprise and people aren't really sure what to say other than "You have your hands full!" gosh, I'm tired of hearing that. and "do you ever sleep?" No, but thanks for asking.

ETA: I really want an OPK. TMI my cervix feels really fertile today and my ovaries hurt. I've been feeling crampy/bloated for a while. I didn't put the symptoms together for the first few days. Then, yesterday evening, my EWCM was fading, so I kind of figured my body was backing off. Now I really just want an OPK. I want it to have lines. Or, really, I don't. Lol But I do want to know what's going on. But there's no way I going out to buy some with 3 kids in tow. Maybe I can get one this evening if DH gets home at a reasonable time.

Oh god I get that for having 2 2 yrs apart and most people also know I have more than a typical number of dogs. You think you get comments for kids try telling people you own 8 dogs and usually foster 2-3 more. And then add in I have 8 dogs and 2 kids. People are usually too confused to really speak. Probably better that way!

I don't think I could do 8 dogs! But I would consider flipping your situation and having 8 kids and 2 dogs. DH would never go for that, though. He has told me no dog ever.

ETA: vent Grrr. I finally got on top of the BC thing. DH and I had decided months ago we want to try a diaphragm. Our insurance covers it, but only in a specific prescribing situation which i just discovered is impossible. Grrrrrr. Now I'm torn. Do I pay extra for one or so we go with some less preferred method? Spermicide would be fine, but it's not very effective. Condoms... ugh. I wish someone would give me a straight answer about what a diaphragm costs out of pocket. "$15-$75" doesn't help me much. (end vent)

Mary: I think it depends on where you live. Where I'm at, no one blinks an eye if you have 4 kids under 6 years and are under 30 Wink So I rarely get comments about my "mere" two kids!

Virginia: ROFL to the sleep comment! GL figuring out the birth control thing...I have no experience with any of those other than condoms and feel the same way. I ended up going back on the mini-pill even though I swore I wouldn't because honestly we aren't sure if we are going to have a 3rd anyway at this point but I don't want to do anything long term like an IUD or shots in case we suddenly decide to go for it (obviously not anytime soon!!!)

Katie: LOL I agree with PP - I don't know how you handle that many dogs. I can barely handle my one smallish pug.

Brekke is going through a "what can I do to delay nap/bedtime" phase and man is it annoying!! She either wants to sit on her potty (which she doesn't want to do 99% of the time otherwise) or is HUNGRY(!) or something. Defiant two's I guess.

Dang, busy day! Lots of people to stalk now, too! ROFL

Ash, ugh I hate when they try to push bedtime. Xander just sorta started in on that one...

Virginia, gl figuring out the bc thing.

Mary, you always have such great pics - yours look better than the ones I had done and I had to pay for them! haha. Next time I just need to find a college student around here to do them cheap.

Katie, hope the appt went well!

AFM, not a ton going on here. Xander is trying to say a lot of words today, but hasn't really nailed any yet. A lot of things end up sounding like **** - which is awesome when you're out and about! haha. He's says it for cook, chalk, park, and walk. lol. I just try and use the real word in a sentence afterwards and hope he'll get it soon. He also tried to say breakfast. It was like phhhhfast. lol. There are others, I just don't remember at the moment. I'm so glad he's getting more into the whole talking thing, even if he's not quite getting his words right yet. Gotta start somewhere, I guess. ROFL We had F*** You! For thank you for a long time. Thankfully, Alex says "Ganks!" instead.

I had a scare this evening when Raymond pushed Alex down the stairs. Luckily I just happened to be standing near the bottom and managed to catch Alex halfway down mid-cartwheel. If I hadn't been there he would have landed on his head. He's absolutely fine, but I'm a little shaken still.

Virginia - That's funny.. "Thanks" was one of Sean's very first words, and at the time, he said "ganks" too, hahaha. He doesn't really say it like that anymore.

Lauren - There are a couple things Sean says funny... When he says "roll over", it comes out "Lor-ver" hahah. That's all I can think of off the top of my head. He does pretty well at pronunciation for the most part.

Katie - LOL... Yeah, I can imagine you get some funny reactions to the number of dogs. People might not even notice another baby or two in the mix, hahahah..

AFM - BFN!!! And I can officially say I'm entirely happy about that. We had a really bad night last night with the bar behind our house... Lengthy conversations with the police, who were helpful with the first two bars, but this time, they just don't care, don't think it's a big deal. So it has strengthened my resolve to save every penny, sell this house if it means losing my @ss, and just getting out of here ASAP.

Mary - yay for the BFN. A few more days and you should be clear, right?

AFM (maybe some TMI): I feel dumb. Yesterday morning I was out with the kids and had terrible cramping. I kept looking around to see if people could tell how much pain I was in and wondering what I could have eaten to cause it. It didn't even occur to me until this morning that it could have been O pain. Lol 15m without cycling really makes you forget what it's like! I had a little spotting this morning, so who knows what's going on.

Virginia, how scary that Raymond pushed Alex down the stairs!! I'm so glad you were there to catch him and that he's okay. Sounds like you were having O pain to me!

Mary, sorry about the bar. It's amazing what you learn in your first house/houses that makes you more prepared the next time around. I have a list about 10 pages long of things I want/don't want in our next house because this one has been a huge pita! Although I don't have a loud bar behind me! Just a loud neighbor dog. Or I did.

Katie, yeah Xander was saying c0ck in the store too because he saw some chalk. lol. He wouldn't stop until I acknowledged him either! haha.

AFM, brought the laptop in the kithen because I needed a recipe off of foodnetwork.com, so I'm killing a little time on the Internet while I wait for my soup to come to a boil. Not too much going on here, just a lazy Saturday. I've kind of stuck DH with Xander all day because I'm in a cruddy mood. Don't know why, maybe end-of-AF hormones or something. lol. They sound like they're having fun playing with cars in the basement, though. Hopefully I'll be in a better mood tomorrow so I can be more productive! And not be such a lazy mom. lol. Hey, everyone needs a break!

Mary - WHAT? You better get back on and fill us in! Smile

Lauren - A day of being crabby and lazy is totally good sometimes! You just need it to recharge

Virginia - that stairs story is scary! We have a gate at the top of our stairs b/c Evan definitely wouldn't have been good about them.

Busy day - dog thing, then dinner with a friend from out of town. TOmorrow DH's parents are coming for his bday. I'm tired!

Okay, I might have freaked out and jumped the gun. I took a test when I got home and DH and I can both see something on it. But I got a FRER and it is snowy white. The fact that DH could see it on the cheapo freaked me out, because he's the first to correct me if I'm imagining lines. I have 5 more FRER's just to be sure. Hmm... I dunno. I'm a little concerned about chem pg's. Not much you can do about that, though, I suppose. We shall see. The suspense continues.

ETA: No the FRER is not snowy white. It's pale... But I don't think it's snowy white. WTF

we need a picture! Come on... let us obsess with you!
I definitely wouldn't be surprised if you were pregnant. You're super fertile and DTD while you had EWCM! You're probably what, 8 dpo? That's still way early for an obvious line.

Heck I dunno. I would post a pic, but I think I'd have to turn the saturation WAY up and/or invert it to see anything... I think tomorrow will be more conclusive.
