November Chat Thread
Guess it's time for a new one. Here's hoping this month goes well for everyone.
Katie - For me AF has changed in some way with each kid. It definitely got heavier after Raymond. After one of the others it switched to "turning off" at night. Except CD1-2, I only get AF from about 10am to 5pm now, but it can be super heavy during that time. TMI I use a menstrual cup and this past cycle I easily filled it in an hour or two (including lots of clots). It's supposed to hold about 5 teaspoons. I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that makes it pretty heavy bleeding. honestly, I've never really talked to the doc about it because I know my mom had very heavy periods and she and I have both had doctors comment on our large placentas (no kidding) and now I've had one comment on me having "a lot of tissue" with the m/c. I figure I inherited a tendency to make very cushy linings (along with the large placentas). I usually just take my extra iron twice a day for the first week of my cycle. I hope it lightens up soon.
AFM: I Oed around midnight on Halloween night. Woo.
Virginia: ooh spooky! GL in your 2ww :vibes:
Katie: ITA with what's been said, PP you get all kinds of strange AF especially the first few cycles.
Told our parents. I asked them all to please not tell people yet but the only ones I know who won't are DHs parents. Everyone sort of had lukewarm reactions too but I guess that was expected except the in laws who are thrilled. I thought my dad would be more excited but I think they just think we're insane. Oh well! Anyway, my m/s is trying to slowly kill me so thank goodness for the prescription my doc gave me because otherwise I can barely function. Pretty sure this pregnancy has been the worst, definitely worse than my last. Looking forward to 2nd tri.
DD had a blast trick or treating and DS wasn't that into it but insisted he carry his own bucket even if I was carrying him. Lol. They got a lot of candy but I have it stashed for rewards. I'll try to get some pics uploaded today.
Sorry the m/s is so bad, Ashley.
Here are my halloween photos!
The boys. Raymond is in the back as an orange dragon, Alex is the stegosaurus, and Oliver is the bumblebee.
And our pumpkins. Raymond drew the face for the winking one and I carved it. I carved the goofy one as Alex described what he wanted. The top two were just me having fun.
Virginia, I love the pumpkins! I love the big pumpkin that looks like it's eating the smaller one, hahah.
Ashley - m/s suuuucks. I hope yours is short-lived. I think I'm finally over the hump for mine. I still get nausea, but not so bad and not as often.
AFM - My car is off being fixed, ugh.. I stopped on my way to work to fill up the gas tank on Wednesday, and my car didn't want to start after that. I was able to rev the engine a bit and get it started and I got to work. On the way home, it was fine until I stopped at the grocery store, but when I left there, my check engine light came on. I've been driving the van the last couple days. They said I need a new "solenoid" or something like that? Cars aren't my thing, lol.. Said it was going to be 300-some dollars, which sucks, but i suppose it could be worse. Ughhh... I just hate spending money on that stuff.
ETA: Damn me for down-playing my m/s. Now I feel like death again. Ugh... It's ALWAYS worse in the evening.
Happy Saturday, everyone!
I woke up from a call from work that my license hasn't been updated in the work system. It's showing expired and if I don't fix it, I won't be able to work, blah, blah, blah. It's really entirely stupid, just another way to be micro-managed. If they wanted to know if my license was up to date, they could easily check the state board website and see that it is. Of course it isn't something I can update from home, so it's going to have to wait until Monday. Grrrr.
ETA: Here's a funny (slightly gross). I found some cheapo HPT's under the bathroom sink. I thought I had used them all, but a few were buried in the other random junk in there. So I took one out, intending to pee on it. But I didn't have a cup to pee in, so I got another great idea. I'll dip it directly into the toilet (lol). I knew that the urine had to be SUPER dilute with all the water in the toilet, and I wanted to see if I'd get a BFP. And I totally got an awesome BFP line! I'm oozing HCG! Hahaha, love it. :) Now I'm curious how dark the straight urine line would be. Need to find an appropriate cup for peeing.
Got to love the "oozing HCG". After the m/c I diluted some 1/1000 and still got a BFP. I didn't try before, but I should have since I was over 100,000.
Got my CHs today. We DTD O day and the 5 days before. I had good EWCM. I had a great temp spike. And I'm just not feeling it this time. I guess we'll know in a week.
Virginia - I hope you're totally wrong and get a 10 DPO blazing BFP for a sticky bean! LOVE the costumes, adorable
Mary - what a PITA with work! UGH
AFM - I'm feeling frustrated with some rescue related stuff, sigh. Sometimes I wonder why I add the extra work to my world. I have a FT job, kids, my own dogs and occasionally being on the board of the rescue is exhausting. Long story short the 2 founders are trying to back away in to a more "retirement" roll but when they have an opinion they still want it to stand. I disagree with them right now on a specific dog and it's getting exhausting to go back and forth. Not helped by the fact one of them is basically a mute who gives 1 word responses and the other is an exceptionally verbose beat you with words attorney. I LOVE them both but neither seems willing to hear where I'm coming from and the rest of the board doesn't seem to want to get involved. In other news I applied to another job today...one I think I would actually want....wonder if they'll call....
Katie - Ugh, that sounds like a pain... Good luck with the job possibility, I hope they call you!
Oh, I called work back about the license thing... It was my freaking Illinois license.. Duh! I let that thing lapse a loooong time ago. The girl who wanted my spot was the one who called me to leave me a voicemail about it... I'll bet she was all excited thinking I was working illegally or something, hahaha...
Oops, I realized I didn't share pics of the boys in their costumes. Calvin was a prisoner (with tattoos on his arms, lol) and Sean was a mail man.
Sean insisted on wearing two hats, but it was freezing, so that was a good thing. There was a cute little hat that went with his costume, but it didn't work out with the weather.
Got home today from a hockey tournament and am exhausted! I'm sure the time shift doesn't help.
Adorable Halloween costumes for the boys Mary and Virginia. I'll have to get mine up on Tuesday.
Adorable, Mary! I totally thought Cal was Sean at first!
