Appointment went great. Baby was moving around like crazy, love it! If you want to see pics, here's my BB post.
Amanda: I'm totally stressed about Christmas. I just hate spending money and picking gifts. I LOVE giving presents if it's something I"m exciting about, but I feel like Christmas is just whatever random crap I come up with at the last minute. An inexpensive present I like to do is a throw blanket, a few boxes of candy, a few bags of popcorn, and movie rental. Easy enough. Or cookies/brownies in a jar & a spatula or something.
Mary: hard candy sounded good to me until I had some. Too sweet, makes me sick. I did get some Warheads the other day because the sour is soooo great right now, but after I almost kill myself with sour it gets too sweet. Ugh.
Okay how freaky is this... so my MIL watched my kids while I went to my doc appt today so I was talking to her when I picked them up. We haven't really talked much about this pg is person yet, but she goes on to tell me that a few weeks BEFORE we told them, she had a dream where she was with her her dad who passed about 2 years back, and the only thing she could remember is him telling her we were going to have another little boy. WTH?! Totally crazy right? So she is like, if this baby is a boy, I'll pass out! LOL. So kind of interesting. Funny thing is that DH & I were talking about giving this baby a MN after him if it happens to be a boy. Anyway, makes me wonder big time. I bet once DH hears that story, he'll start pressuring me to find out the gender as soon as we can.
Ashley - Crazy about the dream!!! I'll be anxious to see if it's a boy now. :) Love the u/s pics. Woohoo for a wiggly baby!
AFM - I've been on a team Green kick for a few days, but then today I got weak and called the u/s place again. DH says I flip-flop like a politician, hahahah. ;) Anyway, it turned out that they didn't have any available spots left this week/weekend, so Monday was the soonest. But I'm working non-stop next week except for TG, so that doesn't work. So I figured if we're going to have to wait until the week after TG, then we might as well just wait for the OB appointment and not pay extra for it. A little suspense will make it all the better anyway. :)
Bummer you have to wait. Maybe you'll flop again before then ;). I was never into the team green idea but having one of each born in the same season makes it hard to argue a reason TO find out. I'm 100% commutes to going team green but its all dependent on getting DH on board. I would even be fine for only DH to find out but only if he swore not to tell a soul. We'll see. He'll probably push me into finding out which wouldn't be the end of the world.
Ash - yay wiggly baby! What a chilling story! Ooh I loved sour things in the first tri!
Mary - yeah it's probably not worth it to pay for an u/s if you're going to have to wait so long anyway. Look at it this way... I had to wait til I was 28 weeks to find out, so you've got it good! heh
Katie - glad the first full week went well!
Amanda - We always felt that stress at Christmas, too, but last year we talked to siblings and decided to draw names instead - meaning from now on we will only buy for one person instead of everyone (not including nieces/nephews - we'll still buy for them while they're young). And I never bought for aunts, grandparents (they tell us not to), etc. Just immediate family. Otherwise I bring a cookie tray or something along if there's a party. Everyone was totally on board, and honestly I think a little relieved themselves, so it's something to consider. We also put aside a little bit of money every single month throughout the year in a savings account to cover our Christmas expenses, which is probably the best thing we could've ever done! It makes it so much easier! We even included travel expenses and what-not in those numbers (not that we're traveling this year, woo hoo!).
AFM - Well it wasn't pink eye, woo hoo! He must've just scratched his eye or something. Now I just have to deal with his new 3 year old attitude. lol. Seriously, he whines soooooooooo much now! But I never give into it, I HATE whining! He's already doing it a lot less than when it started, so at least my response to it is helping. I usually just ignore him and/or tell him I don't like whining and he won't get what he wants by doing it. Ugh, nails on a chalkboard to me!!! AAAHHHH!
My belly is HUGE suddenly and I've got baby all up in my ribs. Even the doctor commented on how high my uterus is at my last checkup (though he never told me what I was measuring and he never stopped talking, so I forgot to ask - I had a different doctor at the practice last week since I have to rotate through the others). I'll have to ask next week because now I wonder if I'm measuring ahead or something. I'm not sticking out further or anything, just up high. It makes bending over impossible! haha
I had my appointment today. My BP started off high, 140/90, but by the end of the appointment, it was down to 120/80 (grrr...). I hate it, but I have been getting some high readings on my own at home, so I'm sure they're right (this time, as opposed to last time when I was in denial). So anyway, I need to work on that. I never get enough physical activity this time of year, grr. And I eat too much, hahaha. So yeah... We'll see how it goes. So anyway, the doc wants me to do a baseline 24-hour urine test. Grrrrreat... I get to collect my urine for a whole day... Already. *Sigh*
In happy news, the u/s is scheduled for December 19th. A girl on my March'11 birth board suggested we have the u/s lady write down the gender on something for us, then open it together on Christmas day. I *LOVE* the idea, so we're going to do it. I bought a glittery red gift box to put it in. :)
I saw that on FB Mary. I thought that was an awesome idea too. What a neat idea for you & the whole family to be involved in.
Virginia I'm so sorry for the BFNs.
Lauren: ugh to baby in your ribs! 1st pg was like that and it's not comfortable at all. Glad he didn't have pink eye. Brekke whines nonstop too about EVERYTHING and it makes me completely crazy. I try to ignore her and not give in and sometimes we go from whining to full fits because of it, but hopefully at some point she'll figure out that it doesn't get her anywhere.
Mary: I seriously can't wait to hear what this baby is. I'm going with girl for my vote. ;)
While DH's truck got something fixed, I got to "borrow" a brand new Nissan Xterra for the day from the dealership. I won't lie, I was kind of sad to take it back even though it isn't much bigger than my car (aside from storage obviously). Kind of fun to have a new car for the day anyway. So I ordered DS a shirt to wear to announce the baby for our trip, but it still isn't here yet!! It was supposed to be here by tomorrow at the latest so I'm crossing my fingers it makes it in time or else I'll have to come up with a new plan for telling the rest of DH's fam.
Ashley - I hope the shirt arrives! Woohoo for getting a fun loaner car. I've always been given super crappy cars, so I'm always happy to get my own car back, hahaha.
Lauren - Woohoo for no pink eye! Funny, you're uncomfortable with baby in your ribs and I'm over here with my little lemon-sized baby wishing it was bigger, hahaha. ;)
Molly - Hello! What's new with you guys?
AFM - Feeling ill tonight. Blah. We had a good supper... Pre-TG, we had turkey in the crock pot, mashed potatoes/gravy, stuffing, and some corn. It's got me excited for the real-deal. I'm sad to be missing my family's TG because of course I always have certain foods I look forward to. DH's family's dinner is always yummy too, but I don't know it well enough to have certain things to look forward to, haha.
I'm so behind!
Virginia - **hugs** Sorry about the BFN I hope you're back quickly with a BFP
Mary - Ugh to the 24 hour urine thing Booooo! Love the gender idea though! So cute
Ashley - I love my Highlander but I've been stalking the new Nissan Pathfinder....it looks nice if DH had to get a vehicle I'd be pushing it LOL
Lauren - I can't believe you're at 33 weeks and I hear you Evan spent half the night tonight whining I wanted to scream. We don't give in either so I hope it stops quickly!
Hi amanda and Molly!
AFM - busy week between work and a corporate dinner last night....I'm beat and tomorrow we're going to DH's parent's house. Sigh. I'd rather hang home but we haven't seen them since August soooooo off we go. I was in a room with 4 preg women today it's like an epidemic at work LOL I've been good about wanting to wait though, we're being very careful this month and the next 2 since my sister's wedding is in Sept and missing it would be awful. Hope everyone has a great weekend!
It must be something in the air today. Sean was a whiny-butt today too. It started early... I took him to the grocery store with me, and he's usually pretty good. He wasn't even necessarily BAD today, just SUPER whiny. Like I made a shopping list. He found a little piece of paper about the size of a credit card and handed it to me, asking me to make him a list. So I wrote some stuff on it and gave it to him. Then I told him to go pee before we left and he dropped it in his little potty and DH threw his list away. So he was all whiny and didn't want to go until I made him another one. So he found another similar paper and I made another one. Then we got to the store, and somewhere along the way he lost his "list" (I had really just written all of our names, the dog's name, mamaw, papaw, etc on it, haha)... He whined about that thing like mad... He was trying to get me to back-track the store to find it for him, lol. Umm, no!! We eventually found it in the cart when we were unloading at the check-out. But then we got home and he continued to whine like that the rest of the day.
And... The dog is sick. He's vomited multiple times since 5-6am. Ugh. I'm exhausted. Sean took a late nap. He passed out at 7:30 and I hoped he'd stay asleep (he's usually pretty good about that), but he woke up after about 2 hours and is still awake now (at 11:20). No rest for the weary. :(
