You all are quiet today. I hope you're all enjoying the weekend. I'm happy to be 15 weeks today! :D
I have literally spent the entire day cooking and baking. I've been looking around on allrecipes.com, and I've got a list of things I wanted to make but I never have much time to make them. So today, I did a few.
For breakfast, we had this french toast. It was yummy and fluffy.

For late lunch/early dinner, we had this. The description refers to it as classic Italian comfort food. It was delicious! And much different from things I usually make.

I was just going to leave it at that, but Sean was BEGGING me to make him cake. He has been begging for cake for a while now, so I made him this (adapted to be dairy-free and egg-free). Chocolate cake with chocolate icing, omg... very rich.

Next on my list is a ham and potato soup, yummm... I finally appreciate food again! Although admittedly, I do still need an anti-nausea pill once or twice a day.
Mary - I am so pinning that French Toast recipe.
It's only Saturday and the weekend has already been quite busy, another hockey tournament, thankfully this one is local.
Friday night we ate on the run and then went to Dana's teams first game of the weekend.
This morning Natalie and I went to the mall for Breakfast with Santa while Dana and DH went to her teams second hockey game of the weekend. This is the first year that Natalie really truly enjoyed seeing Santa and wasn't terrified of him, her eyes lit up when he came walking into the food court. He handed out bags with some goodies and little gifts from the stores to all the kids. Then we walked around the mall for a bit mostly just looked at stuff, I bought Natalie a small version of the book Purple, Green, Yellow By Robert Munsch, a fantastic Canadian author, and Dana a angry birds book mark.
DH, Natalie and I went out for groceries after game #2 and the mall trip. That was followed by the last hockey game of the weekend. Dana only played net in the last game (she was supposed to play the second game but wasn't feeling well. She played against an incredibly tough team and even though her team lost 4-0 she still got player of the game on her team.
I saw that Hershey's makes Candy Cane Kisses (in a flier), so want to make a special cookie for Christmas, something like the Peanut Butter Cookies topped with Kisses. I must experiment first, yes it's mandatory, I am going to use my favourite double chocolate cookie as the base (don't worry I'll add a link) and top it with Candy Cane Kisses. Unfortunately the grocery store didn't have the Candy Cane Kisses so I am using normal Kisses for my experiment, but if it works I am tracking down a bag of the Peppermint Kisses.
Here is the recipe for my favourite double chocolate cookies.\

This was taken of Apollo when he was 21 weeks old (October 30), it's such an adorable shot of him. He's changed quite a bit since then point both his ears are starting to stand up when he's not pulling them back.
Amanda - he is SO cute!!
Mary - that's more cooking than I do in a year! I leave that to DH :)
We went to the inlaw's yesterday. It was a busy day but both kids were really good. They were amazed at how different Rory is now - totally cheerful little fellow. They hadn't seen him in 3 months and he's come a long way since then LOL Last night was a little rough b/c both kids fell asleep in the car and wanted to be awake at 5am, ugh!
On another note I'd really like to plan a little winter family trip. I was thinking Boston where there's an aquarium but a friend mentioned the main exhibit is being worked on - the penguins etc - so it's closed. I was trying to think of other places we could do in 4-5 days during the winter.....
Amanda - Isn't Robert Munsch the author of "Love You Forever"... OMG, that book still brings me to tears every time. The first time I read it, I was hugely pregnant with Sean. I was in the book store looking at children's books. A random woman handed it to me and told me to read it, then just put it back or do whatever with it. I read it, and I was like choking back the tears right there in the store. I bought it, of course.
Good luck finding the Candy Cane kisses. They've been around for a few years here.. They are delicious! I'll bet they'd be great on top of a chocolate cookie like that.
Cute pic of the doggy!!
Katie - Good luck deciding on a little vacation. Sounds like fun! I'm not having anymore large chunks of time off until maternity leave, haha. But I am thrilled to be getting December 22-25 off, so 4 days off for Christmas is just AMAZING for me. :)
AFM - OMG, I can't stop cooking... LOL. I made a GIANT omelet this morning with like 8 eggs (WTF?), ham, cheddar cheese, onions, and green peppers. I split it with DH, but it was probably enough omelet for like 4 people, hahaha. It was good though. It was really hot, though, so I burnt my tongue on it, grr. I think I'm going to make potato soup later. :)
I think this baby is definitely "hungrier" than my other two were. Now my fear is that this little one will come out bigger than Sean (omg, help me). That little dude hurt me like a mo-fo. Hahaha. Calvin was easy-peasy to push out by comparison. It probably didn't help that my bigger baby was my first baby.
Mary - I love all your food talk! And remember, just because you're eating more it doesn't mean the baby will be bigger. I gained quite a bit with Xander and he was only 6lb14oz!
Amanda - I love those candy cane kisses! I'm making a cookie with them, too, that I found in my Taste of Home last month. It is just a simple sugar-type cookie that you then roll in red or green sugar or sprinkles.
Katie - glad Rory was so much fun for family!
Uh what else did I read? I already forgot! Darn you preggo brain.
AFM - What a busy weekend! We did Thanksgiving shopping yesterday, then I made my pie crusts and a few cookie doughs to freeze for later in the week. And somehow that took the whole day. haha. Today we did a little photoshoot with Xander to make our Christmas card with, then I ordered cards off Walmart (screw Shutterfly, I'm done with them - won't rant now, but they've made me mad one too many times). But the ones off Walmart are super cute and half the price of Shuttefly, plus free s/h to my house! Yes please. Then I worked out. Now it's almost 2:30 and I have no clue how! I've managed to do nothing off my "list" and that sucks. Hopefully I can complete at least one task. I'm 34 weeks, dangit! I have stuff to do before this baby gets here, but I'm not getting anything done! AAAHHH!! Follow up u/s on Tuesday. Once I know FOR SURE FOR SURE that it's a boy I'll lug out all the baby clothes and wash them.
I'm huge and getting bigger (yet I've only gained 16 lbs - I certainly don't look it, though). My back hurts (esp my ribs) and I'm worn out something fierce! I'm starting to get that panicked feeling that I'm going to have a baby here soon. Sometimes that's a good thing, sometimes it's not. hahaha I'm more panicked because of how much there is to do, though, not because I don't want the baby here. I'm stoked about that!
The pictures we took and photoshopped the heck out of! hahahaha We used the first one for our card.
P.S. Is there a problem with random people stealing pictures on here? I notice a lot of you put your names over the picture - is that why? Should I do that?
Sweet pics, Lauren! I want to take some of the boys for Christmas, but haven't really come up with any grand ideas yet, haha. The reason I put my name over my pictures stems from one time when I posted a pic on fb of the boys in the bathtub. It didn't really show anything as far as private parts go, but they were naked in the bathtub nonetheless... And fb showed that the picture had been shared, but when I clicked on it to see who shared it (usually it's just my mom), it said, "You don't have permission to view this"... Like how can I not have permission to see who shared my own picture?? It freaked me out a bit, so I just watermark them now for the heck of it.
Hey girls, no time to catch up but wanted to day have a great week. We're sitting on our cruise ship waiting to sail. DS has been in a shirt all day that says "this little monkey is going to be a BIG BROTHER" with this big monkey on it and not a single person has noticed! We're with 20+ other people LOL. Might have to point it out before long! Anyway those of you doing Thanksgiving, hope you have a great one!
Ashley - TOO funny that no one has noticed the shirt! LOL. We tried to put a "Big Brother" shirt on the dog for DH's family when I was pregnant with Sean, and no one got it. They thought we were getting another dog. REALLY?! Is getting a new dog really exciting enough to announce by putting a shirt on the dog, hahaha. ;)
