Mary - He is the author of "Love You Forever", but many of his books are far more comical. Purple, Green, Yellow is a story of a girl and the trouble she gets into with markers.

I wish I lived near you I'd love someone to do some cooking for me, the only thing I want to make is baked goods.

Lauren - Hope you can get your last minute baby things done.
The pictures of Xander are cute, really like #2. I just like being careful with pictures, but I don't think there is a theift problem on these forums.

Ashley - Can't believe that no one noticed the shirt. Have a great cruise.

Working today will let you know about my weekend later.

Mary thats funny about the dog shirt- whats worse is I know Dog Moms that would do the shirt thing for another Dog. Which is sad.

Amanda- Your dog is so cute! Is he still short in height? And tfs the cookie recipe.

Lauren- Love the Christmas pics. He looks so grown up.
    Ashley- Have fun!

He definitely isn't short, it's just the angle of the picture. The foster home told us he was a Sheltie/Border Collie cross, but he's already over 25 lbs at 6 months, plus he has a smooth coat (happy about that). I'm thinking Smooth Coat Collie/Border Collie cross.

He looks rather like a smooth coated collie to me but there are smooth coated border collies too -- two friends of mine have beautiful merle ones they do competitive agility with. I love BCs but man are they smart!

Rory got sent home from daycare with a fever yesterday. We went to the doc, ear infection, so some antibiotics and a day off today. Tomorrow he should be OK to go back, no fever all day today and he's in a MUCH better mood. The meds are giving him a little upset stomach and they make him gag, poor kiddo

Katie - Glad Rory is feeling a bit better. Boooo for sick kiddos!

AFM - I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before or not, but I have a friend from childhood who I stay in contact with on fb, but she lives in California now. Anyway, she lost a baby boy in May 2010, within just a couple days of my m/c. She went into labor early and it couldn't be stopped. He was somewhere around 19 weeks, so just too early to survive. She got pregnant again, and had early labor again. This was over 3 months ago. Her baby girl was born at 24 weeks. Anyway, great news... She just got to go home tonight!! This poor mama has been waiting a loooong time to bring a baby home. The baby was due on 11/23, so it's still not quite her EDD, and she's already over 3 months old. Just crazy to imagine. She seems to have been lucky so far, as far as not dealing with a lot of the health problems that preemies have. She breathed on her own pretty early, her eyes are doing well, etc. She's had a few bacterial infections that have been problematic, but I'm guessing that's probably related to having tubes in for feeding, breathing, IV's, etc at various times. Anyway, woohoo! Happy day.

Where is everyone?? Getting ready for Thanksgiving festivities, maybe? (except Amanda, of course, since you've already had yours)

I don't have much to do to prepare, which I guess is nice. We'll be going tomorrow to visit DH's family. His aunt hosts Thanksgiving dinner. I asked DH and he said we don't have to bring a dish, so I'm totally off the hook for cooking. So I'll just have to get the kids and myself ready. I wish I would've had more energy this week to keep up with the housework. We let it go a bit, and it's a disaster now. Mostly clutter with the kids toys, but it sucks... I'd like to spend Sunday putting up Christmas decorations and stuff, but I'll likely just spend it cleaning instead.

In other news, I finally got a bill for the breast u/s I had like 2.5-3 months ago. Only 9 dollars! My insurance covered over 90% of the cost, which is unusual. Usually I have to pay 20% or more for everything. It's always nice when medical bills are smaller than expected.

Mary - yay for being off the hook and a cheap bill! DH made a cheesecake but otherwise my mom makes everything.

Virginia - I've been thinking about you if you're out there ((hugs)) I hope you have a great holiday and a BFP soon!

Rory still isn't 100% but I think he'll be OK for Turkey Day. The antibiotics seem to really bother his stomach. We're (DH and I) both off until Monday though so we can all hang out all week. Sunday we're taking the Polar Express -- Amtrack has a local train ride with tables and cocoa and santa. It should be tons of fun! I can't wait!

Apparently Apollo's mom was Border Collie/Sheltie mix, dad was a Collie of some sort, guessing he takes after dad. I want to find my copy of the book 101 Dog Tricks I think it would be an excellent idea to get him learning since he is so smart and without guidance he can cause trouble at times, probably cause of the Border Collie.

101 Dog Tricks: Step-by-Step Activities to Engage, Challenge, And Bond With ... - Kyra Sundance, Chalcy - Google Books

Katie - Glad Rory is doing better, hope everyone is back to 100% soon. The train ride sounds fun.

Mary - Great to hear your childhood friends little one is doing well and that she got to go home.

Bummer about the messy house, I have to get to working on that too, boo it sucks.

Yay on the great insurance coverage! I love when you go to pay a bill and it's cheaper.

Since Dana's team got eliminated from the hockey tournament we decided to go to Toronto for the big Santa Claus Parade on Sunday, the weather wasn't too cold so it was a good day to go. The girls really enjoyed it.

I can't believe it's Wednesday night already, where has the week gone?

Natalie and I's attempt at making Chocolate Kiss Cookies made some really tastey cookies but the Kisses didn't survive they were just little chocolate puddles, thinking I might freeze the Kisses next time before pushing them into the cookies.

Apollo goes for the big snip on Friday, kinda glad cause his hormones are starting to kick in and he's getting a bit pushy (thankfully that's all).

Just a quiet night here, I am going to go read a book on my Kindle and maybe get to bed a bit early.

Amanda - Glad the girls enjoyed the parade... That sounds fun. We ought to find one to take the boys to sometime. Woohoo for Apollo getting the snip, hahaha... It didn't help Peanut. We did it at the age the vet recommended us, 6 months, but he was already humping us (and still does from time to time... although it's pretty rare now, and only when he gets worked up).

Katie - I hope Rory is back to 100% soon. I think Sean's getting a cold now. Booo!

Virginia - I'm thinking about you too! I hope your Thanksgiving was good and you're able to find your way back to us soon.

AFM - Just winding down from the TG festivities. I have to work in the morning, so heading to bed soon. Dinner with DH's family was good, the kids had fun playing with DH's cousins' kids. Sean couldn't eat hardly ANY of the TG food though, so that was sad. All he could eat was turkey (which he only likes a little bit, not all that much) and some cranberry goo. That's IT. I hate food allergies. I feel like he's going to miss out on so much. I really hope he grows out of at least some of it.

I haven't taken any nausea meds yesterday or today. That isn't to say I couldn't use some right about now, but it's mostly manageable... It's much better than it was a few weeks ago, thank goodness.

Does that mean your turkey wasn't cooked with the bread in? My BIL is glucose intolerant, we can't even stuff the turkey with regular bread, yeah it's really frustrating. I would rather cater to a kid with allergies, than have to deal with an adult though, cause at least the adult can prepare their own separate dishes (that's what I'd do if I had food problems), of course my BIL and his wife are too lazy to cater to his needs. Thanksgiving here when he kept making his special requests I felt like saying, make your own d***ed food.

So glad we arranged Christmas with DH's family as a lunch instead, going to do a bunch of platters and do it buffet style.
