Yeah, the stuffing was made separately. Most people I know seem to do it that way... Just the turkey by itself and the stuffing in a separate dish (which has always been funny to me, since I assume it's called stuffing because you stuff the turkey with it, haha). I had asked DH if we should bring a dish that DS could eat, and he said no, so we didn't. We really should have though, IMO. He loaded up on a lot of fruit and stuff, so he was fine... I just feel sad for him when there's all this good food that he can't enjoy, and I'm certain he doesn't entirely understand why. Thankfully, my mom has been planning ahead for our visit with them tomorrow. She's preparing a dinner, with some dishes picked with Sean in mind.
Went to Celebrate one of my nephews birthdays at the MIL's today, and she didn't do anything to tick me off this time, in fact I was really happy at the fact that her house was cleaner than usual.
Anyway what did tick me off is that DH's SIL made more Christmas plans without consulting with us first. Long story short for 15/17 year DH and I have been together we have gone to my family's party on the 24th in the evening, mainly cause I work that day. We found out at Thanks Giving in October that DH's SIL planned everything so the only day they were free was the 24th, so DH and I arranged to do a lunch at our house from 11am - 3pm, and I booked the day off work, all was well and good. Well today she says to us she made plans with more of her family on the evening of the 24th so they want to make a turkey lunch and do it at MIL's house, and it would be good and convenient for us cause we wouldn't have to clean, our plan wasn't to have a meal involving much cleaning anyway so that just pissed me off. I honestly wanted to pull a scrooge on her and say f**k it to Christmas with them, it would save both headache and money on buying their 4 kids gifts they wouldn't appreciate anyway. Our kids have better morals when it comes to the whole giving and receiving thing and we are agnostics. Oh did I mention they are practicing Christians? Yeah way to be good Christians guys!

Ugh... Sorry about the holiday frustration, Amanda. I feel like holidays are always stressful here, too, because we're both trying to please our own families, it's always uncertain until the last minute what days I will/won't have to work, etc. It's a PITA. It makes me miss being a care-free kid, always off of school for holidays, no worries. *Sigh*
AFM - Doing a TON of laundry today, a 24-hour urine collection (just now getting around to it), and putting up the tree. That's about it. Really need to make a quick trip to the grocery store for some essentials like milk, but we'll see about that.
Hey guys, sorry I've been mia... We had family over for thanksgiving and all that jazz.
Mary - so glad to hear about your friends baby coming home! Gl cleaning the house, I think we all live surrounded by clutter now that we have kids. Haha. Have fun with the urine collection!
Amanda - sorry your sil changed all your plans. How annoying.
Katie - that train sounds awesome! Xander would love that!
Everyone else... HI!
AFM - holy heartburn! I had two thanksgiving dinners since my sister and her boyfriend came, then my parents came a few days later... I totally didnt pig out, but the types of food I ate have given me constant heartburn. Plus the baby is huge now and I can't eat much at one time, so if I overeat even a tiny bit I pay for it. Ugh. On a positive front, I only gained one pound after two thanksgivings! Woo!
Did I talk about the u/s I had last week? I don't think I did... Anyway, it's definitely a boy! He's also head down, where he'd better stay. They estimated he is 5lb 10 oz already! Wowsa! The reason I had the follow up was because he had a little fluid in hid kidneys and they wanted to see if it was still there. It was... I'm not too worried, though, I've been assured that it almost never means anything.
Hey everyone I'm back.
The cruise was fun, or at least as fun as possible with 2 kids sleeping in your room for a week The long dinners were really hard, but otherwise they seemed to have fun. I'm very glad to be home, the motion of the boat and being confined seemed to amplify my nausea (thank goodness for my meds!). I made DS a t-shirt with a big monkey on it that said "This little monkey is going to be a BIG BROTHER!" to wear on the first day and seriously NO ONE noticed! We finally had to point it out to everyone. So funny. I still haven't said anything on Facebook, maybe this week or next...I was nervous someone would say something while I was out of town now that most of our families know but luckily no one did so now I feel no rush.
I've been trying to snag some Cyber Monday deals this morning while the kids sleep in (they're time schedules are all messed up) but have been pretty disappointed so far. The Children's Place has 30% off and free shipping with no minimum though today only so check that out if you like their stuff! Hopefully I'll catch up later on everyone.
Mary - I hate the 24 hour urine collection, been there done that, no fun, hope it's over now for you. Yay for getting stuff done around the house.
Lauren - I got heart burn with both my pregnancies, yuck, hope you are feeling better.
Yay for confirmation on a boy, positive there is you have boy stuff already.
Ashley - Glad you had a good time on the cruise, never been.
Good luck with snagging some Cyber Monday Deals.
I'm thinking next year I should just book a week in Disney, Florida at Christmas if people want to celebrate with me I'll let them know where I am they can pay their own flight and accomadations.
I can't seem to find a deal on the stuff I want to get the girls for Christmas, want to get Dana a Kindle (she reads A LOT) and Natalie a LeapPad 2, it's just so frustrating.
Told DH on Saturday that I wanted to skip buying gifts for each other this year to save some money, and he's already bought my gift on Black Friday, a little too late.
I was going to save myself the hassle of going out and having to think of a bunch of gifts this year so I was going to make everyone of the same gender the same thing. I thought of an idea for all the women, a nice body wash and a puff. But wasn't sure what I could do for men without just buying a gift card. Any advice?

Mary - why did you need to do a 24 hour urine collection? Is your BP acting up again? When is your big u/s?
AFM: I've been busy. We cooked our first Thanksgiving meal (have always gone to relatives' houses before), Christmas shopping is almost done, Christmas crafts are almost done, and I turned 29. We decided to go for it this cycle even though the timing isn't the best. I had some O pains this morning from 3-5am, so we'll see what happens. TMI My AF was a little lighter than I expected. I'm hoping it was normal variation and not a sign the D&C did damage. I've been worried about that ever since the Doctor said after the procedure "there was a lot of tissue" I didn't want to chart this cycle, but decided I should gather data in case we keep failing to conceive. If it doesn't happen in 6 cycles I think I'll go to the doctor and see if anything is wrong because it's never taken us more than 2 fertile cycles before.
The kids have been so adorable. They play with their two dolls all the time. Oliver now brings them to me and says "baby!" And the others change, feed, burp, bathe, and read to the dolls, and give them tummy time. It's strange to think that on our "normal schedule" I'd be due any time now. I kind of like having only older kids for a little bit, but this family needs another baby soon.
DS1: 12.8.07: 7lbs 8oz, 20.5"
DS2: 8.12.09: 7lbs 9oz, 21"
DS3: 4.26.11: 6lbs 14oz, 19.5"
8.16.12 & 12.16.12
#4 due 10.18.13
Virginia - Good to see you back! I hope the D&C didn't hurt anything. I think it's normal to take a few months to bounce back. Some docs will tell people to wait a few months to try again, so hopefully it's just your body taking its time to heal and get back to business. The boys sound sweet with their dolls. As for my 24-hr urine, yes, stupid BP again. I'm getting some higher readings at home too, so I think it's real this time (I was in denial last time, haha). Nothing severely high, like 130/upper 80's (maybe 90), but enough to make my doc get all crazy. He has already mentioned possible putting me on labetalol this time for it. Part of me doesn't want to, but at the same time, my pulse has been through the roof, like 100-110 beats per minute (at home, they don't even check it at the office).... And I know it would help with that, so part of me would rather just do it. We'll see. My big u/s is December 19th, but we're going to see if she'll write down the gender for us to put in a little box to open on Christmas day.
Ashley - Glad the cruise went well! I can't imagine the swaying motion of the boat with m/s. Thank goodness for meds! Too funny that no one noticed the shirt, lol... How did they receive the news once you pointed it out?
Lauren - Booo for heartburn. I still remember a few times waking up in the middle of the night with acid coming up into my mouth.. BLECH!! So gross. I'm all about zantac or pepcid. They've both worked wonders for me while pregnant.
Amanda - Good luck with the Christmas shopping. I think I'm actually mostly done. I couldn't decide what to get my mom, so I got her a kindle fire yesterday. For cyber monday, they had them marked down like 30 dollars. She has the original kindle, the black and white one with none of the fun new stuff they have now, so I figured maybe she'd like it. I'm still working on my dad. He loves hunting, so I got him a hunting game for his wii that comes with a gun, lol... It was just a goofy gift, but I thought he might have fun with it. I need to get something to go with it though, maybe just a gift card to one of his outdoors stores. DH hasn't started on his parents yet. I hope SIL has ideas for them. It's easier when she comes up with something and we just pay her half the money, lol.
AFM - Feeling weak and work down today. The kids have been sick the last 4 or 5 days. Sean got it first, then Calvin did, and now DH is. I had assumed I was the carrier and just brought it home from work and was lucky enough to not really get sick. But now I feel all worn down and crappy, so I'm hoping I wasn't wrong and I'm not getting sick now. Calvin goes for his 2nd dose of his flu shot today. Not sure if he still ought to get it, but DH is going to be the one taking them since it's at 2 when I'm going to be at work. But this morning, he woke up with a wheeze when he took a deep breath in. I'm hoping his cold isn't turning into anything worse. He's acting fine and I don't hear any wheezing now. Grrr.
Oh, and... I've officially got the "16 week itch" again. EVERY time, at 16 weeks, my body has started itching horribly. I don't know why. Both times, it has lasted until 24 weeks, then it went away. In the meantime, it means 8 weeks of misery for me. Grrrr.
Ashley - glad the cruise was fun! Loved the pics on fb.
Amanda - gl with your shopping. I haven't really started yet, minus a few small things for Xander.
Mary - I don't consider 130/80 to really be high at all. I guess if it's way higher than your normal.... My normals is always 110-125/70-85, and I've always been that way, and my doctor has never been concerned.
Virginia - nice to hear from you again. Xander loves his baby, too. Gl this cycle!
AFM - I keep coughing, yet I don't feel sick at all. I wonder if it's from all the heartburn. Can it irritate your throat and make you cough? Gonna have to ask the dr today. Otherwise I'm getting something.
Virginia - I knew you couldn't resist coming back . Natalie loves babies especially real ones, though she likes young animals too.
Mary - It would save us a lot of money if DH did the shopping for his family, he just wouldn't do it.
Hope Calvin is OK for his flu shot, my kids never get them, mind you DH and I don't work in places that gets filled with sick people.
Hope the itch doesn't last long.
Lauren - Hope you figure out what the cough is, seems odd to me.
Yesterday I was hoping to get lots done but because of animals I got very little done. I found a teddy bear on my bed chewed up, looks like from the Mal (male cat), he somehow got it out of a box and chewed it. I found the toy on my bed and I know the cat wouldn't carry it that far so I am assuming that Apollo found it and dragged it to my room. The bad part is it was a beanie baby style toy so it WAS filled with tiny plastic beads so I had a house filled with these things when I followed the trail to clean it up I found where the toy came from in the basement and the cat had somehow gotten into a box full of Christmas toys eating their ears, toes scarves... Needless to say I spent half the day cleaning up plastic beads and animal fluff.
Then there is the joy of having a young pup I had to clean up a couple of accidents from the basement floor.
It wasn't a happy day.
Today I am at work and supposed to be working, instead I just want to lay down and have a nap.
