October Chat Thread

Hey guys!! I saw there wasnt a new month posted yet so I thought I'd start one Smile

Sorry I've been a bit MIA, I promise to check in more often. Just havent had a whole lot to share Smile

Hubby just bought me a Baby Jogger City Mini stroller, was on clearance for 179 (originally 240 I think). I am so excited to test it out! I'll post pictures a little later Smile

I hope everyone is well!

Ooo let me know if you like it! The City Double is one on my list. I saw it at Buy Buy Baby and it wasn't huge and impossible to move around but still seemed a bit bigger and had more features than some of the umbrella type double strollers!

I can't believe it's Oct! INSANE!!!

Mary - yay for lots of babies!

Sandra - :woohoo: for a new stroller! Looks nice! I saw the pic on FB. Wink

Katie - Next month is your MONTH!

Mary - I would call the doc! That isn't something you want to wait around for. I would rather the peace of mind that it's something silly vs. something not so silly. Good luck! And yay for lots of pregnancies and babies!! Wink

AFM - Today is cleaning day. I have scrubbed this place from top to bottom! It needed it soooo badly. How does my house get so destroyed in such a short amount of time?! You wouldn't think adding a tiny person into the house would bring so much extra mess. But he sure does! Wink

OMG, LOL... So I usually just keep a tab open with the chat thread and refresh it once in a while, so I'm guilty of sometimes missing the new threads (like Jen's OPK thread! yay Jen!)... And yeah, I totally missed the October thread! I kept refreshing the old one and thinking, "Wow, it has been like days since anyone posted..." Duh Mary! Hahaha. Anyway, I'm here in October with you all now.

October holds a special place in my heart. It was 3 years ago yesterday that I believe DS1 was conceived. DH and I were on our honeymoon in Cabo, and it's the freakin HOT season there, so we spent lots of time inside in the air conditioning, lol. So I'm not exactly sure what day the conception was, but October 2 was when I had the most EWCM and it sorta faded after that, then October 12, I got my BFP. It was VERY faint on the cheapo tests, but bright and beautiful on a FRER. Biggrin

ETA - Did you guys hear about the guy who was going to try to live off of his wife's excess breast milk? They had a freezer full (about like me! haha).. And anyway, he was going to drink 66 ounces a day (what they calculated to contain the number of calories he needs) and he was going to live off that and blog about what happened. I guess their blog was flooded with negative responses, so they closed it and donated the milk to some quadruplets instead. Call me weird, but it didn't seem like that big of a deal to me? I mean sure, yeah, the milk would go to better use if consumed by a baby... But it's not like they were hurting anyone by keeping it for their own weird experimentation, LOL. It's not what I would choose to do with my excess milk, but to each their own, IMO. LOL. Maybe I am weird, hahahaha.

woohoo, just lost my whole post.

Mary - don't freak out too much about the breast lump. Definitely get it checked, but... I get breast cysts while BFing. They're pea-sized, hard lumps, and when my breast is empty I can see one through the skin. I had pea-size one for a couple months while nursing Alex (and a few tiny ones) and my current one has been around 2 months so far. The doc I saw said it's pretty common. Good luck! I'll warn you, breast u/s are really boring.

Jen - GL cleaning. I'm trying to do some of that, too.

Sandra - yay for a new stroller!

I know... No heartbeats inside! Wink As for me, I think my little lump has gone away. Annoying! I'm just going to keep an eye on it and see if it reappears.

Sandra - Woohoo for a new stroller!!

AFM - I just realized that Sean doesn't have a coat for this winter. It hasn't been too cold yet, so he's been getting away with wearing a fleece from last year. So anyway, I ordered him a new coat from children's place and ordered him and Cal both two hats each. I ordered myself a few handmade hats from Etsy. Eek! I say eek because I'm not usually a hat wearer, mainly because I have unruly hair and don't want to handle the aftermath. But I'm wearing my hair a little shorter these days (a bit above the shoulders), so it's a little more manageable. And also the coat I bought myself for winter, I LOVE, but for whatever reason, it has no hood... So I'll need something, because I get these horrific earaches if it's even mildly cool or windy outside (by mildly, I mean even 60 degrees if there is a breeze). I'm not sure why, but for years now, it has seriously affected my ears. So anyway, I need them to be covered if I'll be outside for any length of time. I've never been a hat wearer, but this lady makes some really cute ones, so I'm hoping to convert! We'll be all set for winter.

This is ridiculous. Oliver slept 8 hours last night out of nowhere. I seriously though it was midnight when he woke me and was amazed when I checked the clock and saw it was after 4am (I have bad vision and can't see it unless I get up). Of course, today I can suddenly imagine life with more kids and have been over on the DYSAL board and contemplating ordering OPKs. I'm sure the kids will bring me to my senses soon.

ETA: TMI I have this ridiculous theory that when we DTD (therefore getting to sleep later) Oliver sleeps better. I can't see how there can be any connection except that he is in our room. Maybe I'm actually the one waking him and I sleep better after DTD? The last two times he has slept 6h and 8h those night and the nights we didn't he hasn't gone longer than 4h. Bizarre.

Virginia - That is a hilarious theory. Cal doesn't sleep regardless of the DTD, lol.

You just need a day like I had yesterday to get over the baby fever, OMG. DH was finishing up his work re-caulking our shower, so it was just me and the kids for a few hours, and it was nightmarish. I realized that I'm very rarely alone with them, and thank goodness DH is the SAHP. I couldn't cut it. LOL. At one point they were both SCREAMING. Cal needed to take his nap, Sean was fighting a diaper change, but it was like a HUGE poop, so it was taking me forever to change him while he was kicking and screaming. OMG. I seriously could not be the one to do it all day, every day.

AFM - My grandma thought her Keurig machine was dead, so she bought a new one. However, my mom said they just require some part to be cleaned from time to time in order to keep it functioning properly. My grandma didn't know that, so she cleaned whatever part it is, and it works... So since she already had a new one, she gave it to us. I swear it's like new, and I LOVE it, woohoo! My mom sent us home with a bunch of the little cups of coffee (various flavors) that go in it and also some that make raspberry iced tea. I haven't tried the tea yet, but I'm excited about that.

I'll catch up on personals a bit later tonight but just wanted to pop in and let you know mary - if your grandmother didnt register her keurig on their website, GO DO IT! If you register the keurig on their site, they email you a coupon for buy 2 get 2 free boxes of kcups. With shipping, my total came to 36 dollars and saved 30 dollars! We got a box of the hot apple cider and its really good, little watery, but still very tasty. The pumpkin spice is DELICIOUS.

Also, i think i need to take a hpt tomorrow. I'm like a week or two late. I'm sure its just really late due to the stress of hubby coming home, etc. We've only DTD a couple times, and both times were with condoms, but i was having some EWCM during those times. I wouldnt be against the idea of another baby though!

Here's a picture of andrew in his stroller by the way, for those of you who arent on facebook Smile
It was a very smooth ride and the sun visor is HUGE. In the picture, its only out 2/3rds of the way.

Thanks Sandra, that's a good idea! I'd be willing to bet she didn't register it. Mmmm, hot apple cider and pumpkin spice sound awesome right now...

Good luck with the POAS.. Can't wait to hear about it!!

AFM - Forgot to mention that we officially have a CRAWLER!! Let the fun begin!! He acts like he wants to pull up also.. He keeps reaching up and grabbing the top of the couch. I'm amazed at how he's following the same timeline as Sean.

Mary - Good that you got your winter wear shopping done early.

We have a hand-me down coat from a friend for Natalie, still have to get her pants though, it got really chilly Saturday so she had a chance to wear it.

Yay for the Keurig, they seem so convenient.

Can't believe Cal is already mobile! Where has the time gone?

Virginia - That is just weird, maybe it is you sleeping light and waking him when you don't DTD

Sandra - Good to have you back.

*AFM*

Last Thursday was probably one of Natalie's worst days, most days she is good with a couple of trying moments, her outgoing and eger personality are somethings I love about her but somethings it causes trouble. She was back to her usual self over the weekend.

I had a crazy theory on my AF the other day, I know often if women (especially related ones) live together their cycles sync. I have a 12 year old in my house with horomones going crazy, maybe that is putting my cycle off... Told you it was crazy. Anyway still haven't heard from my family doctor or the OBGYN on when an appointment is set to talk about this. It takes up to 4 month to get an appointment I'd just like to know when sooner rather than later.

At work today getting ready for a show in a couple of weeks. Really nothing exciting.

Amanda, it is normal for women who live together to sync up. Or at least that's what I've always heard! Glad Natalie is back to her old self!

Mary, horray for the keurig! I'd love one of those since I'm hte only one who drinks coffee M-F and it'd be easier to make my one cup that way instead of brewing a 2 cup pot. Glad the lump went away.

Laura, yay for a good u/s!!

Jen, ugh, I could use a good cleaning day like that!

Sandra, glad you like the stroller! Hope all is going well with hubby back home!

Virginia, interesting theory on dtd/sleep. Glad you got a good night of sleep! lol at thinking about more kids after just one night of good sleep. heh.

AFM, DH caught the cold too, but we're all pretty much over it now. Just the end-of-cold congestion that'll pass in a day or so. Started spotting today, so AF will be here in a day or so. I didn't think I'd be, but I got kind of sad since I was supposed to be TTC this cycle and didn't want to see AF. Obviously it's good that we're waiting til Dec/Jan since I need this ct scan, but I think I'm going to be kinda bummed every O and AF until then.

Mary - that sounds like a pretty normal day to me, actually. Wink Told you it was a crazy feeling.

Sandra - good luck! I hope you get the result you want.

Lauren - :bighug: hope AF is short and easy.

Amanda - not crazy at all! My 2 sisters and I all started cycling at the same time. I think my older sister and I pulled our younger sister along for the ride because she was pretty young to start. We must have driven my mom nuts.

Lol just made the theory better... I bet DH is sleeping better so he doesn't wake either of us. I swear, he wakes me every time he rolls over at night.

Just jumping in vent...

MIL is crying and throwing a fit because we won't be there on Claire's first Christmas. WE HAVE NEVER CELEBRATED ON ACTUAL CHRISTMAS ANYWAY! THEY'RE ALWAYS WORKING! And she's mad because we're not staying until Claire's first birthday. She should be proud that we're coming up there anyway! I'll be 20 weeks pregnant, Claire will almost be 1, etc...

I'm LIVID!

MIL is crying because "Claire won't know her!" and DH is standing up to her saying, "Well you've only come down here as much as we've been up there!" HA! I'm SO proud of him for standing up. She's being a baby and I can't stand that. If she wants to come, then VISIT dang it! She tried saying that hotels are expensive, BS! It's more expensive for us to fly there!

Great, after all this crap I *can't* wait for her to come this month.

:bighug: sorry she's being a pain, Laura. I'm glad DH is sticking by you and standing up to her. Have you tried offering some other holiday instead of Christmas (Thanksgiving or something) to help appease her? I'm lucky, DH's family is sort of Jewish and my family is sort of Christian, so my family automatically gets Christmas. Lol We do Thanksgiving with his parents.

Laura, sorry your MIL is crying over all of this. Grandparents are tricky to navigate, aren't they? We've decided not to go up for Christmas this year now that Xander's getting older and it's NOT going over well. I have a feeling we're going to have OUR house full because everyone's going to freak out and come here instead. Guess we'll see! lol.

Virginia, sounds like you've got a good theory!! No tossing-and-turning DH probably helps everyone sleep!

AFM, not much going on here. Xander had a fever last night, but it's gone now. AF is pretty heavy and crampy, oh joy.

Laura - Ugh. I'm livid for you.. I've grown to hate the holidays because it always ends with an argument between DH and I over this sort of thing. It doesn't help that I usually end up having to work a holiday (Thanksgiving evening this year, yippee..). Blah. I like the holidays and the festivities and all that, but I just hate trying to divide our time when we're already strapped for time together as it is. At least your DH is standing up for you!! Mine has ZERO balls when it comes to his parents. He won't stand up to them even if they're being totally absurd. It's so beyond annoying.... He constantly walks on eggshells with them.

AFM - SIL will be in town this weekend for wedding dress shopping and I'm going for that. I don't think I've been to a wedding since my own, so I'm excited to see the dresses and see if she picks one. It's funny... She lives in St Louis, and I bought my wedding dress there (lived in IL, so it was a relatively short drive). I live in Ohio and she's coming here to buy her dress, haha.

Laura - ohh that sucks!! I think I'm lucky DH works the Friday after Thanksgiving so we don't go to his family's for T-day b/c it's a pain to go out and back. Christmas until Evan we spent Eve with my family and Day with his but it was a lot of running around. Once Evan was born we stopped the hauling around, Eve with my family and then Day we stay home, my family is all local so they come over and we have dinner. We go to his family before Christmas for his parent's tree trimming "party" (it's just family) and that seems to suffice. Luckily neither side throws fits in our case I don't think DH or I would tolerate that well LOL

Lauren - sorry AF is being a witch, ugh!

Mary - sounds fun!

Virginia - sounds like a possible theory there Smile Hope DH is working a bit less

Busy here with work and house stuff and dog stuff etc. Not bad but I'm tired. The baby moves NON stop and I feel constant kicks I swear this kid wants to walk already! I'm not horribly uncomfortable which is nice but I am feeling tired of being prego.....

This!! I miss it too. And Cal was so docile in the womb, not to mention I had the anterior placenta... So I barely felt him move. Boo! Our 3rd (most likely final :() baby better move a LOT, or I'll be sad! Sean moved so much, and I miss it!

I actually have an anterior placenta too but apparently it doesn't impact his ability to nail me in the ribs LOL I think he swims in there. I'm sure I'll miss it a bit but being pregnant isn't my favorite thing on earth.

ALL week we've had to wake Evan up for daycare. Today no daycare up at 630. AHHH LOL

Katie - Isn't that the way of things with kids? They never sleep in when they're supposed to. Wink

Mary - Hope you have fun dress shopping this weekend with your SIL! That will be fun!!

Virginia - Glad DH isn't working so many crazy hours!

Laura - That is INSANE! And so sad that family members have to make Claire's first holiday a PITA!! Ugh. I'm sorry that they're being like that, but I'm glad you guys are sticking to your guns and not letting them guilt you into anything.

Lauren - Hope AF is gone soon for you!! Just think, only a few more of them and then it's TTC time!!!! It will be here before you know it.

AFM - I haven't been sleeping well (tossing and turning, weird dream woke me up last night, etc.), so I am tiiiiired. I'm supposed to run today, but that is about the last thing I want to do! Haha. I should just go do it. I'll probably feel better when I do. At least I managed laundry today. Wink

Katie - LOL about Evan... Kids are evil like that, hahaha... I don't remember the last time I was well-rested, and I fear it will be a long time before I get quality sleep again.

Jen - Did you go for your run? I wish I had the motivation to run or something, but by the time I'm done with work everyday, I am sooo lazy. But I'm usually running like a chicken with my head cut off at work, so that's gotta count for something? No... Probably not, haha..

AFM - Sunday, I think we're taking the boys to a farm with a pumpkin patch, hay rides, mazes (made of corn, maybe), etc fun fall stuff. My parents are going to meet us there.. Should be a fun time.

Cal is getting around well. He recently learned to sit up on his own without having to use his hands and sit in the tripod position... And it's so funny, when he sits up with no hands, he is SOOO proud of himself. He grins and coos/squeals loudly while waving his hands around like, "Look mom, no hands!" Too cute. He's all over the place and is officially getting into things he shouldn't be... Like the fireplace (we never have it on) and DH's playstation, LOL. Now I'm constantly having to keep TWO babies out of things they shouldn't be messing with. Fun! Wink

Sleep here is good...I mean I'm a pregnant lady but Evan always sleeps well (even if he doesn't wake up on "school" days and gets up at 7 on home days!). I should enjoy while I can!

I just set up pictures for family/evan's 2 yr/newborn. For the Evan/family pics we'll have to be inside....probably at home....I don't know what to do to not look like we're sitting in our living room. Any suggestions all you picture people?

Hah... I wish I could say the same. Sean sleeps great, and has for a long time.. Probably since he hit about a year old, just guessing. But even as a baby, he went longer without eating at night, and started that earlier on. Cal still likes to eat 1-3 times throughout the night. I've made it a habit of taking a freshly pumped bottle of milk to bed every night since new milk is supposed to be good for 6-8 hours out of the fridge. That way I already have one feeding ready and don't have to run downstairs to the fridge (or wait for DH to do it).

Mary - Oliver sits, too (mine are always early at that) but when he does the hand waving in excitement he sometimes falls over. Lol So we're still piling pillows behind him. Since he can't crawl he stays put. GL chasing 2. It's busy!

Katie - glad you're still getting some sleep. Enjoy it.

Jen - how are you feeling today?

sorry if I missed anyone.

AFM: yesterday was crazy. In the morning I was getting all the boys ready to take Raymond to school and, of course, just as we were heading out the door Oliver did a huge, explosive poop. So I changed him, got all the kids in the car and... it wouldn't start. The kids had turned on (and left on) the interior light and drained the battery  I finally took out the bulb because the car leaves the interior lights on for a little bit after closing the doors, so it's hard to tell when it's actually on. Anyway, the ILs came and took Raymond to school then helped jumpstart the car. Then I took Alex to his class then picked up Raymond and walked home. Whew. Then we had the afternoon. I got Oliver asleep, tried to get Alex down. he asked to poop on the potty. he tried, but was just using it to delay and threw a fit when I put him back in bed. He woke Oliver, so two were crying. Meanwhile, I asked Raymond to clean up his markers. While I was back up dealing with the little guys Raymond colored all over the table and then peed his pants while sitting on the couch. Then threw a fit when I wouldn't change him (he knows how and I had the other two to handle). Finally got Alex down and let Raymond watch a little kids' TV after he got changed. When they both stopped crying Oliver finally stopped. Whew. Then we had Raymond's back-to-school picnic that evening. Fortunately, that went pretty well. Anyone still want 3 kids? Lol

Hi Everyone :wavehello:

Mary - Your feeding plan for night sounds great. Congrats to Cal on sitting.

Virginia - Sounds like a pretty crazy day, hope you had a relaxing night.

*AFM*

Been a pretty busy week, and the weekend isn't going to be much better, thanksgiving weekend here, we go to my parents tomorrow and host DH's family here on Sunday. At work we have a convention we are getting ready for next Friday so I decided to work the holiday Monday. I do get a long weekend without the kids in 2 weeks for a mini-vacation with DH so it is worth working now.

I decided to try and go a week without eating refined sugar, I only slipped up once on Monday when my mom brought in some apple crumble to work. I finish up tomorrow afternoon, should be easy, I am very proud of myself.

Went to Natalie's parent/teacher interview on Wednesday, she is doing well and fitting in with her class. The teacher finds her a wonderful student.

Mary - I did go for my run! But I so wasn't feeling it and quit after a mile! I ended up getting Owen out of the stroller, and he walked the whole second mile back to the beginning of the path!! Granted, it took us ten years because we had to stop and look at every rock, stick and squirrel , but he still walked it. Yay for Cal sitting!

Virginia - I feel fine! Aside from being pretty tired, I feel totally fine. Boo. I felt like I was going to puke all day on Wednesday, but I've been fine since. My chart is ticking me off, too. Just not feeling it this month! LP temps are weird, I feel like? I don't know. It's annoying me and I already feel like I'm going to be getting a BFN in a few days! Sad And what a day you had! I think I would've thrown the towel in after the car didn't start. Wink

Amanda - Glad Natalie is doing well in school! That's awesome you've given up refined sugar for a week! It's in everything, I can imagine how hard that is. Happy Thanksgiving to you!

Katie - Yay for setting up your photographer! Are you doing the newborn/family pics at the same time? I would say do it in your home because it's a natural setting, but you don't necessarily have to be "sitting in your living room" or anything. There are lots of other places you can incorporate... like the bedroom, etc. It all depends on what you're looking for in pictures!

AFM - Well, read my comment to Virginia above, and you'll see my AFM. Sooo not feeling it this month.

ETA: I looked back at my chart with Owen, and at 6dpo (like I am today) I had a PLETHORA of symptoms! Backache, cramps, bloating, dizziness, sore boobs, fatigue... I feel like I have just about NONE of those! There is no way I could be pregnant!

Jen - I'm still crossing fingers for you!! Thanks for the suggestions. B/c NB pics can take so long we're going to do one sitting for the NB (while Evan is at daycare or with Daddy) then another family/2yr old session. I didn't get NBs with Evan and I wish I did for about $100 it seems worth it to me! Bedrooms are a good idea too. I wish we could go to a park or something but it just seems unlikely in Dec! I MIGHT try a few pics in the front yard with Evan if the weather is decent enough but I don't think we'll want the baby outside that long. I may also see if we can get a picture of our family AND dogs out on the deck. Crazy but I really want a full family photo!

Amanda - YAY on Natalie being such a good girl! She sounds like a great little girl

Virginia - Life is crazy in your house Smile I can relate though most my crazy revolves around wrangling 10 dogs and 1 toddler LOL Did I mention we're now fostering a 6 mo old puppy? haha DH is THRILLED with that one Wink He's a wild man but very sweet.

Mary - I hope Cal starts sleeping more soon! Must be exhausting. I'll be there soon Wink

AFM - nothing too exciting. I'm taking Evan to a dog adoption event today. Oy that could be great or totally horrible. If he's in a good mood and ok with me being distracted a lot he'll be fine. If he's feeling needy and doesn't want to stay in one place he'll be a disaster and we'll have to head out early. But that puppy I mentioned I'd REALLY like to get adopted so I want to try and go! I kind of committed to 2 more dogs in a couple weeks so I'm going to be a creek with DH if this puppy isn't adopted before then! Being a puppy USUALLY they get adopted quickly which was my thinking but you never know. DH will want to strangle me if we add 2 more to the 10 we have.....

LOL... Me! The fever has been at fever pitch lately, lol. With my two good high school friends both having babies within the last month, my college roommate just found out yesterday she's having a girl, a girl I went to elementary/HS with just found out yesterday she's having a girl, a couple that went to my HS (they were high school sweethearts) and ALSO went to the same college as me (she's a pharmacist too)... They just announced that she's pregnant with their second baby. OMG, I'm losing it with the baby fever over here. And every time we DTD, I imagine fertile signs (usually O pain) for the following 24-hours, LOL.

Amanda - Glad Natalie is doing well at her school! I keep trying to decide if I want to send Sean to preschool. I'd like to, but it's SOOOO expensive... A woman that I work with sends hers to the place I'd probably send mine (it's right down the street and we get a discount through work).. She sends her DD only 2 or 3 half-days a week and it's still like 1K+ per month. I have trouble wrapping my head around that one when I have free childcare at home, haha. But I do want him to have some time with other kids to learn social skills and all that. I dunno...

Katie - Good luck with the dogs! I am forever impressed by your ability to wrangle SO many dogs! I can't handle the one I have, hahahaha.

Jen - You never know! 6dpo is WAY early to feel symptoms, assuming the fertilized egg takes at least that long to implant... Probably longer. I knew I was pregnant before my BFP with Sean because of one symptom... A deep, ANNOYING tingling in my nipples starting at I think 8dpo. I had never had anything like that before and knew I had to be pregnant. But... With Cal, I had nothing. I swear I spent the whole pregnancy with no symptoms. I never really got nauseated, never felt him move much, no weird nipple tingles, nothing... So you never know!!!! Can't wait to see what your HPT says!

AFM - Just waiting around to go look at wedding dresses with SIL. MIL should be here soon and I'll be driving the three of us, then we're meeting one of SIL's friends there too. In fact, there is MIL and FIL now. SIL spent the night here last night. Time for dress shopping!

Mary, a grand a month for 2-3 half days of preschool!!!??? Holy geez, NO WAY would I pay that! But we also don't have that kind of money, soooo... I will be sending Xander to the Y-Tots program at our YMCA. The #1 reason I want him in preschool is for the social aspect, I can work at home with him with numbers, letters, etc. since they have so many preschool books available to help you get them going... So I'd rather pay $60/month for 2 half days of preschool. Will he get as good of an EDUCATION? Probably not, but like I said, I'm in it for the social aspect (away from mommy), and he'll get that at the Y. But that won't be til next year when he's 3.

Amanda, glad to hear that Natalie is doing well in school! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, too.

Jen, sorry you're not feeling it - but like others said, you never know. Dirol

Virginia, holy crazy day!

Katie, hope you're able to get someone to adopt the puppy! I wish I would've done nb pics for Xander, too. At least I was able to get some decent ones of him myself since he just slept and didn't move, so I was able to position him. Now that he's older I'm lucky if I can get a picture that isn't blurry OR where he's actually looking at the camera! lol.

AFM, just trying to charge my iPod a little bit so I can go for my walk. There's nothing worse than getting all ready to go and realizing your iPod is dead! lol. Hopefully 5 minutes of charging will be enough...

Kind of making today a daddy/Xander day. I honestly think Xander is sick of me. He's wanted little to do with me all weekend. It makes me a little sad, but at the same time we spend ALL our time together and I think a day off from each other is in order. Well, not really a day off... I still fed him and stuff and I've been around. IF I had somewhere to go I would leave, but I don't. Hopefully tomorrow he'll love me again. lol.

Mary - that figure does seem crazy! Are the teachers all 4 year degree certified or something to account for such high rates? Evan will probably just continue with daycare 3 days a week ($460 here a month for that) at the Y until he's 4 then there's a pre-k program in our school district that is excellent (certified teachers etc) that we'll probably do as long as my mom doesn't mind picking him up at the 1/2 day mark and driving him to daycare on my work days as the program is free but is 1/2 day and no bus etc. I don't think he does a ton of stuff in daycare but he has fun and they do crafts and read etc it's not a structured preschool by it works and he's happy. I'm not looking forward to the bill doubling in late Feb though!

Lauren - Evan has been all about daddy this weekend. Daddy worked A LOT this week so I heard "Daddy home soon?" often. So it's kind of nice, I can clean in peace LOL

The puppy is still here. He met some nice folks but nothing solid. He's been a good boy this weekend though so he'll find his home soon enough.

LOL... I have no idea. Just going off of what that other lady told me. I tried looking up the pricing on their website, but you have to call for pricing info.

AFM - Wedding dress shopping with SIL went well yesterday. She found one she loves and ordered it. The lady said it would take 6 months to come in, and her wedding is in a little over 7 months, so it was crunch time. But it should be okay.

Today we went to a farm/pumpkin patch with my parents and the boys of course. Sean had a blast... they had all sorts of different things set up for kids to play on, various slides, etc. We went on a hay ride, ate some food, saw some turkeys (including new baby ones) and some other animals, walked through the woods where they have an obstacle course set up, etc. It was a good time, but it was probably pushing 80 degrees outside, so not exactly fallish. We were there 3-4 hours and Cal slept through almost all of it, LOL. He's so laid back. The boys each came home with a green pumpkin, hahaha... Sean picked them and he was drawn to the green ones over the orange ones. He's a weird little kid, hahaha. Wink

Today would have been an awesome pumpkin patch day here too. It was near 80 - so perhaps a little warm btu whatever it still would have been really fun. But since DH had to work all day yesterday and I had the dog clinic we had to get house stuff done today. DH had to mow and FINALLY waterproofed the deck. SO there was no time. Maybe the weather will be nice enough next weekend

Mary, sounds like you guys had fun at the pumpkin patch! We went on a corn maze yesterday and it was SO hot, like 86. It was fun til the boys had had enough (we were with friends w/ a 3 yo) and of course we were in the middle of the maze with two grouchy toddlers. haha.

Katie, sorry no one adopted the dog. At least he's being a good boy, though.

AFM, I gave both of our dogs haircuts this weekend. It now costs almost $80 to groom both of them and we just can't afford it. So, um, yeah... I have a couple of hobo dogs. lol! I will say, each time I cut their hair I get better at it, but it will never look as nice as the groomer. Might need to invest in a new razor, though. I have the cheap Oster one for dogs and it gets SO dang hot about halfway through Zuul! Plus, I can't even use it on Brodie since he's a bichon w/ curly hair (not fur), so it just gets all caught up in it and hurts him. Not sure if there is even a razor out there that I can use on him. I had to hand cut him with scissors, which took an eternity. He, surprisingly, looks the better of the two! hahaha. Maybe because his hair curls, so if it's a little uneven you can't really notice. You can really notice on zuul (pekingese mix).

Xander had a bad fall today where he hit his face on the table leg. It was awful! Luckily he's okay, just bit his lip, but it was still scary. I thought he banged his tooth at first... Glad he didn't.

Oster A5 dual speed - http://www.kvsupply.com/KVVet/productr.asp?pf_id=83032&gift=False&0=product_family.asp,family_id%3D1483%26Tree%3D,Oster%20A5%20Clippers%20%26%20Blades&HSLB=False&mscssid=07AC25B7F7068409E9698C880A030656 or the Andis AGC 2 speed - http://www.jefferspet.com/andis-agc-super-2-speed-professional-clipper/cp/AC-A5/camid/

They aren't cheap but cheaper than the groomers. I have 2 goldendoodles and 1 of the 2 has exceptionally thick, curly hair. Her mats can be insane. The Andis (the one I happen to own) has no problem. I mean I have to use clipper cool and I can't let the blade go too dull (I probably get a year of grooming 2 BIG dogs out of a blade but I don't sharpen them I just buy a new one yearly) but with a good blade (I usually use a 5 blade) I can work through anything on her.

It's nearly $100/dog to get the doodles groomed b/c they are so big. So I do it myself too. I'm not fancy though every 3-4 months I just take the clippers and the 5 blade and shave them all over. I'm a lazy lazy groomer!

Katie - Your post makes me sooo happy that Peanut is low-maintenance in the grooming dept. Smile

Lauren - Sorry to hear about Xander's fall today. I'm happy that his teeth were not harmed. That's always a fear of mine when Sean falls.

AFM - Today was fun. There was a big corn maze, a smaller maze made of soybean plants (tall enough that Sean couldn't see over it, but I could), an obstacle course through the woods, a hay ride, animals (including lots of baby turkeys. Some from 9/1 and some from 9/11.. they were cute). There were lots of random other things... A big area filled with straw for kids to romp in, a big area filled with dry corn kernels for them to play in (with trucks to fill with the corm.. sean liked that). A lot of various slides for them to go down. Sean had a ball. Here's a pic my mom took of Sean and Cal.. I thought it was HILARIOUS because Cal's face is so serious.

Oh, just a few more thoughts...

1. I used (wasted) the last OPK in my stash today. I couldn't resist. I had no fertile signs whatsoever... Not sure why I did it, but it kept begging me to pee on it. LOL. It was negative, obviously. My body doesn't like to O and lactate at the same time, and I know this. I will NOT be buying anymore OPK's at present time, and we're still not preventing, so I guess we're just playing the baby roulette.

2. Sean and Cal are SO funny now that Cal is more mobile. Sean is not at all fond of sharing toys, but of course with the increased mobility, Cal is more and more interested in them. So earlier today, they were down on the floor and Sean was trying to play with his train set (Thomas the train). But Cal kept grabbing every single train, and Sean kept screaming, "My Percy! My James! My Thomas! My Emily!"... He went through every single one of them as Cal grabbed each and every one. It was hilarious, but of course I don't laugh so as not to reinforce it.

I posted a belly pic if anyone wants to look lol I feel like a whale.

Mary - love the pics - you inspired me and I found a pumpkin place around us hopefully weather will cooperate (they shut the train and hay ride down if it even drizzles) and we can go next weekend! I'm pretty sure Evan will be exactly like that lol He shares well at daycare so far as we know but no one every requires him to share at home.....

Evan and I were out playing today and he was throwing and kicking his green ball around. He started running away from his ball and I said "Evan where's your ball?" And he stopped looked at me, looked at his ball, looked back at me pointed at the ball and said "right there mommy" in a very DUH MOM tone LOL I had to laugh....he's such a little person now!

Mary - Raymond's school is awesome, we're in a pretty high-cost-of-living area, and I pay $300/mo for 2 mornings a week. I say keep looking! I'm amused by your baby roulette. Lol And TMI I wouldn't be so sure you're imagining fertile signs after DTD. My cervix is always more open for 24 hours or so after DTD. So, I get signs, but they don't mean I'm fertile, they just mean we DTD. I've had O like pains a few times, too. So weird.

Katie - Lol sounds like his speech is improving! The toddler attitude can be so funny.

Amanda - good job avoiding the refined sugar! I don't think I could do that.

Lauren - I'm glad Xander didn't hurt himself too badly.

Virginia - Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one "imagining" fertile signs after DTD. At least if I'm crazy, you're crazy too, haha. Wink

Katie - LOL @ Evan and his "duh mommy" attitude. I swear I know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I think I've had that exchange with Sean before, hhaha.

AFM - Starting the 9-day week AND the guy I work with who is the manager is on vacation until next Monday. That means that for the next week, I get to deal with all the angry customers and crap that I can usually push off on him because he gets paid more to deal with it, LOL. Yaaay.

ETA: LOL... Calvin and Sean are being SO funny right now. Cal is climbing all over Sean!! Usually it's the other way around, but he's all on top of Sean, trying to bite his nose and grabbing his hair and ears and whatnot, and LAUGHING hysterically. It is too funny. Sean keeps yelling, "Get off me!!" but he goes right back for more.

ETA again: A recent pic of Cal.. Just thought it was cute. Wink

Mary - Super cute pic of Cal! I can't believe how big he is! I swear I keep thinking he's still a newborn. Lol Good luck during your 9-day run! Yuck. Hopefully no angry customers will come your way. Wink And I had to Lol about the OPK!

Lauren - Glad Xander's teeth are okay! I am always scared to death of that. Owen had his front teeth for seriously .05 seconds before he fell face-first into a metal bar on his Radio Flyer push-toy last winter, and chipped a small corner of the right one! It's totally fine, but still. I always see that chip, now! BOYS! Wink

Katie - So cute about Evan! That is so funny. I keep waiting for Owen's speech to pick up! He's talking nonstop, but is just about impossible to understand. And he whines a lot without opening his mouth. We've recently started making him at least be verbal with us and tell us what he wants vs. grunting/whining and us giving him what he wants because we know what he means. I swear he just refuses to talk. If you ask him to say something, he goes, "NO."

AFM - I caved and POAS this morning! ROFL I'm so weak. But get this, I KNEW it would be a BFN going into it because it was SMU less than an hour after FMU! So that right there was bad. Plus, I'm only 8 dpo, so I know it's toooooo early! But still. I had to. I figure, I've got 10 IC's, plus an FRER, so I can waste a few IC's in the next few days, right? Lol Anyhow, total BFN. Though I swear I thought I saw a shadow of something (evap?) but it's so faint, I think my eyes are just playing tricks on me! I'm going to pretend it wasn't there because I don't need to get my hopes up. Wink Symptoms really picked up this weekend, but maybe it's all in my head. My back has been hurting, and I had cramps all day yesterday. Not so bad today, though. Plus I've been super thirsty (and thus peeing all the time), and this morning I woke up feeling like I might puke all over the place. Sigh. I think it's too early for all of this, though! Oh, and my nipples hurt. Oh well. Could all be PMS symptoms too, right?! I guess only time will tell.

Virginia - how are the boys - any fun crazy 3 LO stories? Smile

Mary - LOVE the pic Cal is looking older! He even looks calm though

Jen - couple more days and we'll be begging you to POAS lol b/c we're good at pushing! I say use the ICs why not? lol no sense saving them Wink

Yes Evan is a chatterbox now! I love it. He can name all sorts of animals and I love the few he says funny -- Algagator and Gee-er-af. I know he'll eventually get them right but there is something really sweet about Algagator and gee-er-af. I also love when he confuses things. We have a Mickey book with Cowboy Bob in it and he knows Cowboy Bob so I'm reading a different Mickey book (we have a Mickey Mouse obsession) and I read "and Goofy brought corn on the cob" and he goes "Cowboy bob?" lol I love this age. It's so much fun Smile He can count to 10 too no problem but the alphabet is still a work in progress....we get ABCDE then he needs help LOL

LOL, too late! Day 1 of 9, and I've already had one irrational screaming lady. I'm in a pretty good mood though, so it's not wearing me down yet. I'm sure it will be by day 9 though. Wink

I commented on your other post already, but I'm calling that a total BFP!!! Congrats again. Yahoo

LOL... He is zen baby. I've never seen anything quite like it. If only they were all so easy, hahahaa. I doubt I could get that lucky twice, but we'll see with the next one, hahaha.

I love it once the LO's hit the chatterbox stage (especially in the short time before the back-talk phase... enjoy that while it lasts, lol). The latest thing Sean has picked up is that when I go to starbucks, I order a "caramel latte". He says it PERFECTLY. He even says "care-a-mel", rather than "carmel" hahaha. Too funny. Wink

AFM - Absolutely nothing exciting whatsoever here. I think the weather has finally gotten back to Fallish after several 80-degree days, which I'm actually happy about. I already got out all my sweaters and long sleeves after several colder days, then it went back to hot, which was a bit annoying. Day 2 of 9 at work. Nothing at all exciting... Which I guess is good considering all my excitement lately has been of the bad variety.

Mary - you never know... I have two zen babies so far. Biggrin

Katie - nope, no great stories right now. I have a great pic, though... I'll get it up soon.

Jen - congrats again!

AFM: Oliver got his first tooth yesterday. I can't believe it. It seems so early! The second is close to coming through, too. Poor guy has been having a few rough days. Last night was a disaster, too.

I'm a little jealous of the beautiful baby belly (Katie!) BFPs (Jen!) and JLIH attitude (Mary!) all over the board. I feel more sane when I spend less time on here. I love having 3 kids but I think I need Raymond to start school before we add another. Especially since I'm trying to cut out my bad TV habit. I've been letting the kids watch too much (started shortly before Oliver was born) and they need to stop. And it's not just being busy, our car and house would be hard pressed to fit a 4th. It'll all look better in a few years, I bet.

Mary- All my babies have been pretty zen... its when they start talking that it goes downhill here. Smile I can't believe how big Cal is either, crazy.

Jen- Congrats on the BFP!

Virignia- The boys costumes are cute. You did an awesome job making them.

Katie- Are you getting excited? You're pregnancy has gone way fast for me lol.

AFM- My cycles are officially completely back to normal now and baby fever is starting to go crazy lol. This is the 2nd longest time I've ever gone without getting pregnant since Mason was conceived lol. I'm not even sure if we are having another one at this point but if we do it will definately be the last so I'm trying not to rush it. Smile The boys are all doing good. Are washing machine quit working so its been/ going to be quite interesting until the weekend when we can go get a new one. Its crazy how much laundry goes through this house.

Virginia - I love the costumes. You did an awesome job on the homemade ones! Sean was a turtle for his first Halloween, but it was definitely store bought because I'm not that crafty, haha. Smile This year, Sean is being Yoda and we just bought Cal a simple little devil suit (basically a red sleeper with a hood with horns).

Karen - Booo for the washing machine! I hear ya on the fever... But my cycles are not back at all yet, let alone regular, haha. I'm with you though... We're 99% set that baby #3 will be our last, so I'm trying not to rush it. Nor am I going to get all crazy with the OPK's and all that. I'd like for this one to just happen in its own time, so I'm just going with the JLIH approach (haha, Virginia) and we'll just say it was meant to be, whether it happens super soon or if it takes a while. I just feel more laid back this time.

AFM - Three years ago today, I found out I was going to be a mommy for the first time. Biggrin Aww, what an amazing day. Of course I had to work 2-10p that day, so I got the BFP in the morning, then had to go to work and try to keep my mouth shut, haha. Wink

I'm jealous of my parents. They left early this morning for a trip to the Adirondack mountains. I'll bet it's beautiful there this time of year. I'll be heading to work soon for day 3 of 9, yippee!

Mary - wonder if they'll be near me! I live at the foothills of the Adirondacks. It is nice - though unusually warm this last week! It's been a miserable year for bugs and ticks though bleck!

Karen - It really has gone fast. 34 weeks tomorrow....doc Friday then doc at 36 then I'm down to weekly!! Oh how I wish he'd come a little early!!

Virginia - LOVE the costumes! We haven't gotten ours yet. They have a parade at Daycare so we need to find something Smile

Mary - Hope your parents have a good time! Happy 3 year anniversary on your Sean BFP!! What was your EDD with him? I can't remember back that far. Wink Oh wait, I just did the math from your sig... June 25th?

Virginia - Love the costumes!! They are awesome! My mom used to make all our costumes growing up. I totally buy Owen's, though. Wink Haha. I don't have a knack/know-how for sewing at all. Owen is going to be Captain America this year because it was so dang cute I couldn't pass it up. Wink

Katie - 34 weeks whaaaaat?! How is that possible?! I swear we were just congratulating you on your BFP! I think everyone's pregnancies around here go so fast. Can't wait to 'meet' this new little guy!

Karen - Hi! Glad you've been good about the baby fever! Yay for a cool new washing machine this weekend. Your old one crapping out is a good excuse to buy a new one, right? Wink

AFM - I have to take the CRV in for an oil change/inspection/emissions/tire rotation this afternoon. Blah. Sitting in the car dealership with a 19 month old for almost 2 hours is not my idea of fun! Thankfully they have a huge kid's room with lots of toys and stuff, so hopefully it'll keep him occupied so that he doesn't break brand new, expensive cars we can't afford. Wink
