Mary - I have a quick question for you. Is there any reason a woman shouldn't get the flu shot in early pregnancy? I'm pretty sure I had it in the first tri with Oliver, but I just realized the day I'm supposed to get it done I'll likely be 8-9dpo.

I don't believe there are any problems with 1st tri flu shots. We give the preservative-free vaccine to all pregnant women... I'd request that one. I got mine in the first tri with Sean. I think I probably would've been to 2nd tri before I got mine with Calvin. I haven't had mine yet this year (lol, slacker... I give them everyday, but haven't taken a moment out to get my own). Well, mostly because I want to get the PF one, but if I request it, then everyone at work will know, hahah. Ugh, I really NEED to tell them, but I can't bring myself to do it. I can't believe I've made it to 11 weeks and we haven't told a soul IRL (except the doc, haha).

Ashley -how'd the race go? Recently I've thought waiting might be fun DH thinks I'm nuts and that I couldn't actually do it, he's probably right

Virginia - Hope AF is on her way out soon and you can catch the egg

Mary - I can't believe you haven't told anyone! Or that you're 11 weeks. Time flies!

AFM - very quiet weekend. Yesterday we went to the farmer's market then a dog rescue fundraiser dinner. Today just hanging home laundry and cleaning. We tried looking at some furniture yesterday but Evan was in a foul mood and it became unbearable to try and deal with him. So we went home and he took a nice long nap. I think we're going to do new family room furniture for our Christmas gifts to each other. I think we're also going to make an effort to retrain the dogs to stay OFF the furniture, that should be nearly impossible but here's to having goals!

Katie - Good luck keeping the dogs off the furniture. I wish we had trained our dog to stay off... He compulsively LICKS my couch nonstop. It drives me NUTS. He will just sit there and lick it until there's a giant wet spot... SO gross. And it's not like there's anything on the couch that he's licking... He's just licking for licking's sake. I swear he's mentally ill, lol.

AFM - My boobs hurt, LOL. I had to pull out my bigger bras, fun fun. Yeah 11+ weeks now, and I have no idea how or when to tell our parents. Or my boss. Ugh.

Oh god I have a bunch of dogs who lick the furniture compulsively. And chew the cushions. And dig the cushions as they spin around to lay down. They are going to go CRAZY when we kick them off. I have a foster dog who will pace for hours if he doesn't have a spot on the couch. he's neurotic. I did buy a couple nice dog beds so I'm hoping to transfer them to dog beds. It's the goal anyway. The issue with dog beds in a foster environment is someone always pi$$es on them. New foster dog comes in, smells the damn dog bed and marks it. %(#)*% My life is a circus. Depending on how successful we are we'll buy better or cheaper furniture....

I'm trying to plan my next pregnancy so I don't have to travel for work in the first trimester....the instant I refuse wine at dinner everyone will know and it will be so awkward. Since I've m/c'd twice I'd rather NOT have everyone certain they know. March would work.....I go to Atlanta in Feb, CA in early March....then nothing until Chicago in June...then nothing again until CT in Sept. We'll see...I've put DH in charge of BC b/c I'm already feeling lax about it LOL He is not so it's working out well

Mary: LOL we haven't told anyone either (although I'm quite a ways behind you). We'll have to tell DH's parents by mid-November because we're going on a cruise with his extended family and it'll be really hard to hide it, especially from them. I'd rather not tell the rest of his family yet, but we'll see how that goes... So therefore I feel like we should also tell my parents. Good luck figuring out when and how to tell yours, I have no clue how we will.

Katie: sorry about the crazy dogs! I love your TTC plotting

    Virginia: GL this cycle!!

    to everyone else!

The race went well, I just rode with my friend and we talked the whole time so the 35 miles flew by. We didn't go very fast but that was probably better for me. I could have ridden twice as far no problem but it was probably best I didn't This nausea and exhaustion are still kicking my butt. The nausea at least comes and goes so I get breaks where I feel human again, but I wake up tired, am tired all day, then collapse in bed at like 9:30. LOL. My b-day is tomorrow, then the u/s on Wednesday, so should be a fun week. The only downer is that my DH just had something come up at work so he'll likely miss my dr appt. Oh well, just hoping things look good because if not, it'd be way worse that he wasn't there!

Katie - I love hearing about your life with a million dogs, hahahah... It makes me feel better about my one little insane one.

Ashley - Glad your race went well. I hope your DH can make it to your appointment. Mine didn't go to my first u/s. It was sad, but we decided it would just be easier if he stayed home with the kids. Plus I had to leave straight from the doc's office to head to work. I'm sad that he missed it, though. We've agreed that he WILL go to the big u/s, even if all 4 of us have to go, hahaha.

Molly - Hello! How have you been? It has been surprisingly easy not to tell anyone about being pregnant, haha. I've had a lot going on other than being pregnant... I started working in a new location, which involves an hour of driving both ways everyday, so I'm usually too exhausted to even think about the bean (sadly).

AFM - Feeling somewhat better today as far as m/s goes. I've been having more days like this lately, but I've also been having some really crappy ones. I'm hoping the increase in "good" days is a sign that the end of the m/s is near. I NEED to feel good again. Just worked day 8 of 11. I can't wait until Friday, omg...

Mary: you're a champ working such a demanding job with your horrible m/s! Crossing my fingers the end is near for you.

So excited for my u/s tomorrow! Less than 24 hours! And better news, DH's work thing got moved so he is gets to come. Yay! Hoping my doc will give me something for my nausea but he never has before so I'm not holding my breath. Having a nice lazy birthday so far...should be cleaning but I'm not. Oh well :P

Katie - Good luck with keeping dogs off furniture, Sadie is trained to stay off unless invited, Apollo will not go on if people are paying attention but he'll sneak on to the couch if no one is looking, but he is only 4 months old. Apollo is really cute if you catch him on the couch, he will happily jump off and then nap on Sadies bed.

Are the dog beds not washable? Sadie's has stood up to lots of mess, everything from her being ill on it, to cat pee (the worst smell) to mud, it's just been tossed in the wash and good as new (ok maybe not so much after 5 & 1/2 years).

Ashley - Congrats on a good race, I would love to cycle, but haven't done it since I was about 20 don't even have a good bike or helmet. Happy Birthday :Cake:

Mary - I would probably announce at 12 weeks. I think that's the norm. My family knew right away both times, I get MS early on so it makes things difficult to hide since I work for my mom and she can't keep a secret.

Right now I would love and hate 11 days streight of working, I'd love the money but would hate being out of the house that much. Hope the rest of the week goes by fast.

    *AFM*

Had a mostly good weekend. Dana's team had a hockey game on Saturday, it was against the top team in thier division, the whole team played pretty well and it ended in a 0-0 tie. The other goalie was in net for it but it was a good game to watch.

DH got some free movie passes that were about to expire from a friend at work, so my parents watched the girls and we went out for dinner and then went to see Seven Psychopaths with another friend. I really enjoyed the movie it is definately up there on one of my favourites for the year.

Sunday Dana had a hockey practice, ahh the life of a hockey parent, she worked hard at it and I was happy for her.

Alright now for the bad of the weekend and the last couple of days. When leaving Dana's hockey practice DH was having trouble seeing behind him because of the angle of the sun and he backed into a van, he scuffed the bumper, figuring it wouldn't cost us much to repair it for the guy he left the cell phone number. DH kindly talked to the guy that owned the van they are both at this point being somewhat reasonable, the only issue is the guy is insisting on using the local Ford dealership to do the repair (he owns a honda) and the dealership is known for ripping people off.

Anyway I am a bit ticked off cause we are pretty tight for cash right now (and still have to pay for Dana's rep fees and my Botox) so this is NOT what I need.
