October Chat Thread!
Happy October everyone!!!
Katie - I'm so excited for you guys! I'm glad you found a place to live that will work out for a little while. I'm glad you hired movers, it sounds stressful enough without all of that on top of it! heh
Virginia - your pregnancy is really flying by! Glad baby is comfy in there.
Mary - I'm glad you guys got some alone time for your anniversary. I don't even remember what alone time is anymore! haha Sean sounds exactly like Xander with Preschool, it's soooo cute.
Amanda - sorry you're not happy with Natalie's schooling. I hope you get to have a good talk with her teacher. Maybe she has other reasons for not wanting to switch her to the other class.
AFM - I really need to post here more often! I'm just not on the computer that much. I should be cleaning or something right now while Benjamin naps, but instead I'm wasting time on the computer. heh School is going really well for Xander! He has lots of little buddies, which makes me SO happy because he can be really shy (but once he is comfortable he's quite outgoing). He had to miss a day last week for his dental cleaning and the next day the other moms were telling me how their kids kept talking about how Xander wasn't there and that they missed him. It just melted my heart. But he loves to play "monsters" (chase) out on the playground and I guess he got all these other boys obsessed with it, so now they all run out there and go crazy. hahaha I never thought MY kid would be the one to get the other kids to play something. Like Mary's Sean, he now comes home singing all these little songs and he's constantly counting, etc. It's funny because I've always tried to get him to sing with me, and he NEVER would. Like he would freak out on me and say "NO!" and storm off. He just never cared for music, even as a baby. But now he does. I guess he just needed other kids doing it too. And he could always count, but never just did it on his own. Only at my prompting. I'm just really happy - this is just what he needed. We've had to start putting him down for bed really early, though. He was a little terror and we finally figured that he was just overtired, so we take him upstairs to get ready by 6:15 and he's out around 6:30-6:45 every night and now wakes up on his own happy as can be. We were having to drag him out of bed before...
Whoa October already!!
Lauren - that is so cute! I have been looking for part time pre schools (in NC) but they all appear to be church affiliated which isn't my thing. I nee to keep looking. The movers are part of my relocation package....I don't think I'd have accepted if they weren't moving us. Just getting the house ready for sale is exhausting.
I am relaxing a bit this morning bc I painted two rooms yesterday and it feels like I did a crazy work out (that is a sad state of.affairs to My lack of exercise)
Lauren - Good to hear that Xander is enjoying preschool.
Katie - Glad everything worked out with the job and that you found a place you can bring the dogs. Is the foster organization you work for a national one?
Haven't heard from Natalie's teacher so I left another message for her, if I don't hear back this time I will call the vice principle.
Dana had her first hockey practice for the season on the weekend, she enjoyed it. Natalie starts a hockey fundamentals program this up coming weekend.
Baby month for Virginia!!!! Yay! I hope you get the delivery you want. Sigh I want a baby lol not really but kind of ;)
I had one last u/s today. The placenta is 1.8 or 1.9cm from my cervix. They usually want it at 2cm to clear for a vaginal delivery. My doctor was fine with trying for a vaginal delivery at 1cm away, so I'm sure he'll be happy with the news. It's been moving 3-4mm a week for the past 5 weeks, so if baby stays put for another week or two we should be in pretty good shape. And it doesn't look like he's going anywhere. My cervix is still "really long".
Apparently the edge of the placenta is "pretty vascular" and the MFM doctor expects I'll have bleeding. Hopefully it won't be too much, because baby is already "very low, especially for a mom who has had babies before" (I could have told her that. I have to lift up on my belly to pee.) and the hope is that his head will compress the edge of the placenta (like a tourniquet).
Baby looks healthy and is estimated at 6lbs 12oz. Already almost where DS3 was when born. :) I go to see my MW tomorrow. I'm sure she'll be thrilled with the news.
The MFM doctor told me to be sure to ask my doctor to update her after the delivery. She's really interested to find out how it goes. I'm a little surprised my cervix is doing so little. I was 1cm and 50% at 36 1/2w with DS1, 2cm, 50% and super soft at 38w (first check) with DS2. I was never checked with DS3. Maybe it feels different than it looks? I blame the lack of progress on not being allowed to DTD. ;)
Yay baby month Virginia!! I'm glad you'll be able to try a vaginial delivery.
Amanda - I hope you hear from the teacher.
Katie - ugh painting! You earned your break. heh
AFM - I got back a bit ago from a field trip to the Farmer's Market for Xander's school. Yeah, I'm thinking I maybe shouldn't volunteer for these things. Xander does great at school. Xander does great at home. But for some reason when those two worlds collide he just can't cope and he turns into this little terror! He even wriggled out of my hand and ran away! Like RAN away! He did the same thing at our schools open house, like he couldn't handle DH and I being on his turf. Luckily today I yelled "1....... 2............." and he stopped. I can't believe that actually worked. We were out by tons of roads, he could've easy run into a road. This is completely out of character for him. He's never been a bolter, not even when he was 2! So I can't believe he's started doing this now, but only if DH and/or I are with him at school. It's so weird! If I hadn't been there he probably would've been a perfect angel and followed the other kids lead. But instead I basically couldn't even help with the other kids because I had to keep him contained. Ugh! I felt like the biggest idiot parent in the universe, like all these other parents and teachers must think I have zero control over him, yet he's usually such a good listener. Luckily this little outburst of him only lasted a few minutes, and then he was well behaved the rest of the time.
2 hours of contractions from 4-6am (when labor usually starts for me). started 10 min apart, went to 7 min apart before suddenly stopping. Hopefully I made a little progress. I wonder if it'll come back tonight.
Any news Virginia? I delivered early both times, first was just early (9 days) and the second induced (15 days).
Nope, nothing since. Mine have been 6, 2, and 9 days early. I'm 11 days out now and hoping to make it to the end of the week.
