Positive OPK or not?

So, what do you think?

Another prg.org friend and I are leaning towards negative, but I'm not sure. This was yesterday's OPK, so I thought today's would be blazing positive. Nope. Totally negative. Sad So, I'm not sure if I missed my surge (I usually have a 48 hour surge, so it would be unusual for me to have such a short one, right? Then again, this has been a freakin' wacked out cycle!), or if it just didn't happen. I'm confused.

I'm currently on CD 41 (I average 35 day cycles typically). I've had spotting for the last 4 days, but yesterday afternoon it stopped and now my boobs hurt like all get out. Which is progesterone, right? So I'm wondering if I O'd last night or this morning. Here's my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/25cce9. FF is putting O tentatively on CD 31, but I'm positive that's not correct.

I had an u/s last Thursday due to the spotting, and the tech told me I had a nice follicle on my left ovary and should be Oing over the weekend! But she did tell me she can't tell if they're "blanks" or not, so it's possible it's just a cyst with nothing in it, too.

Eh, I have no idea what is going on! Doc said we'll start provera on CD 60 if nothing happens by then, and then she'll put me on lo dose BCP until we TTC (so like, one cycle on BCP and then off. Haha.). Not sure how I feel about that, but she seems to think my ovaries are lazy and I just need some minor hormone regulation.

Thoughts?

I'm assuming the control is on the right (it's been 2 years since I used an OPK, so it's not really fresh in my mind, heh). If so, then the left is lighter than the right, which means it's negative. Buuuuut I also don't always find those internet cheapies to be the best, so who knows. I've had a few like that at times I KNEW I was O'ing due to other signs, so it could've just been the test itself. It really is damn close to being as dark as the control, so obviously something was going on... Your chart doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, so I'm no help there. I never did get very good at reading charts unless they were textbook perfect (and very few are, haha).

Anyway, sorry I'm really no help. I hope your body figures things out before you have to go on meds to force it. If not, at least you won't have to go past CD 60.

I hate to say it, but it looks negative, especially if you usually get a 48 hour surge. I tend to get a 36-48 hour surge, and I had cycles (while BFing) where I'd get an OPK like that (almost + or barely Smile for a short time then have it go light again, and I wouldn't O. I have to get a super dark + for a while before I O. I also definitely don't agree with FF's CHs.
How frustrating that this is happening so soon before you TTC! I hope your body figures stuff out on its own. If not, I think the doc's plan sounds reasonable. You ould also always choose to wait longer than the doc recommended and just see what happens. Good luck.

Yeah, I figured it was negative, too. Boo. Blum 3 It's just the darkest I've seen all cycle, so I really thought it was happening. I guess I'll have to wait a few more days to really say yay or nay, but eh. I'm just so frustrated! CM is pretty much gone, too, so I just have no idea. It FEELS like I O'd, but I never got the positive OPK's. Then again, I know OPK's aren't always 100% correct, so who knows. But argh! I just want to scream. And O. Or get AF. Lol Something! I just want this over. I'd rather NOT have to go the pill route and see if things iron out on my own, but they warn against no AF past 60 or 90 days because the endometrium can build up too much and lead to higher rates of cancer. But, the doc did say my lining was nice and thin (and seemed happy about that?), so who knows.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Lol

*hugs* I had such a hate/hate relationship with OPKs when my cycle was regulating because I'd get soooo close to a + for it to just fade away and fake me out. GRR! I hope you O soon!

So, updated my chart.

I'm about 99.9% sure it's AF, but I'll see over the next few hours. I've been spotting so much lately, I have no idea what is what. But this was certainly a lot heavier that I just saw! Wink

Anyhow, fingers crossed it's AF and that cycle is OVER!!! I'm so ready to move on!

I think it's negative too, sorry. I never had great luck with the IC OPKS though. Hope your body figures things out quickly!

I hope it's AF! Maybe the follie the tech saw was actually a cyst. All women get those occasionally. Hopefully you've gotten the weird cycle stuff out of your system so you'll be all set to TTC!

Ugh, no AF. It disappeared just as quickly as it came. :banghead:

Can't help you out with the OPK but looks like you have plenty of advice on that from others.

I know what it's like when cycles go all crazy on you, I normally have a 29 day cycle, these past months have included a 55 and 39 day cycle. For me AF did eventually show, but I am being sent to a gynecologist to figure things out.
